No.14 Icila

Was so happy to find this fragrance in my search for a new signature! Obviously everyone’s tastes are different, but to me this fragrance is far from ‘boring’. It’s a beautifuly balanced culmination of many nostalgic 2000’s notes, but manages to be uniquley itself. Think COCO Mademoiselle, Flowerbomb, and B&B Works’ Japanese Cherry Blossum, but with a more natural, and subtle twist! The deep citrus of the pamplemousse opens up with some zest, but quickly dries down with the plum to a warm, floral blend that feels sensual and deeply fruity. It feels playfully light, while still remaining sophisticated. To me this is an amazing everyday fragrance for those who also favor warm (more fall and winter) scents, but need something a little lighter for spring and summer. Icila feels fun, but still refined. It’s like sipping on an italian soda/sangria in the garden at sundown.

very feminine, creamy, soft, sexy, woody rose :) im not a rose fan but this is really pretty, very smooth. love the way it sits on skin. if ur looking for a sort of coquettish fragrance, this is a lovely one that stays away from being too grandma-y. i don't wear fem fragrances but got this as a sample. would definitely recommend. honestly, i feel like this is a little genderfluid, like leaning fem but if ur a cool guy u could totally pull this off. like if i smelled this on a man/woman i'd want them.

This smells just like the original Chance Chanel Eau de toilette from 2003. It’s a beautiful scent! It reminds me more of Chance than Coco Mademoiselle, but I also can smell the similarities with that perfume as well. I bought a discovery set and even though I like it I don’t think I’ll buy a full size because I wore Chance *and* Mademoiselle so much in the aughts that I got olfactory fatigue so I can’t wear anything that smells like this anymore, sadly. But this is quite the beautiful scent!

Was given a bag of decants of modern fragrances and No. 14 Icilia was in there with a bunch of snoozy sniffers. I was nearing the end of the bag but was suddenly besotted by this dark syrupy contradiction of a unisex scent. She's all woman to me! She gives gothic dim lit forest full of mystery. Her scent is totally in contrast to her simple and lackluster bottle. I'm buying a full size and rebottling it into one of my vintage Lalique bottles.

If Coco Mademoiselle and Chanel Chance Eau Tendre had a child it would be this. Absolutely a great dupe for either, but I do find it to be different enough that I don't feel like I'm wearing a dated Chanel fragrance. Its pretty strong so I enjoy just a light spritz on the back of the neck and then pairing it with Autumn Leaves from Replica and Dans Les Bois from Dime...freaking stellar trio.

This is very classic, feminine, and pink. The initial top notes were a bit off-putting to me, and very sweet- but wait 30 min to an hour, and you have something chic and fresh. Agree with the Chanel comparisons of other reviewers- but with more freshness. I feel like this one could grow on me even more over time.

one of the best plum-forward scents i've ever smelled (stone fruits are heavily hit or miss for me), and one of my all-time favorite fruitchoulis (right up there with coco mademoiselle). i bought a travel spray after getting it in an ipsy bag because i find it really addictive

I love this scent so much. She is youthful, sweet, fruity, nostalgic, sexy, romantic, and feminine. This is an ideal date night scent to me.

Such an underrated perfume. It's smells so lovely and I am so attracted to the smell. Price point is definitely higher but it's quality.

i'm pretty sure it's partly just my mind thinking Icila = Icy -- i understand it has absolutely nothing to do with ice, but rather "ici" which means "here" in french -- but this genuinely smells icy cold to me, like sparkling snow. it evokes the image of a ice princess in a castle made of snow. i first tried this during the coldest time of winter, and out of all the scents in the sampler set, to me this was the most fitting for the season at the time. looking at the notes i can see why it's obviously a spring/summer fragrance, but i can't get the icy association out of my head. it's beautiful!

This is softer than I usually wear, but it is nice. I get citrus up front along with a non-indolic jasmine. Thankfully the rose is not terribly discernible unless you're looking for it. I was afraid this would be too sweet for me but I feel it has more of a sweet tea note than sugar. The wood base grounds it along with the patchouli. I can see wearing it year-round, if perhaps less in the winter.

Opens with a citrus burst that turns into a gorgeous plum and rose. Very sweet and classic, youthful without being childish. It reminds me a lot of the early 00s. This would be a great daytime fragrance, but I will be savoring my sample lol.

Sweet citrus plum jam with a hint of rose/rose water. It’s so good. I’ve seen people comparing this to Coco Mademoiselle and I would agree except, it’s more citrus and plum like. Also, it’s less powdery.

the sense of clarity this strikes into me as soon as I take a whiff is crazy. not my favorite ever but I find myself reaching for it often because of the occasion...

Fresh mostly, with white floral and fresh fruit to round it out on the opening.

This is nice, and unlike anything I have in my collection. But, it's also Bath & Body Works-coded (which I see other reviewers agree with) which makes it something I wouldn't gravitate toward. In high school, I would've LOVED this. It smells like what you're wearing when you have your first kiss. It reminds me of my first time making out with my first boyfriend, probably because it's what my or his shampoo smelled like. I can't imagine wearing this in any kind of professional setting as an adult. It's also not unisex at all.

This perfume reminds me of a cheap kids lipstick from your unicorn themed, pink Christmas advent calendar. You put it all over your lips and can taste the plastic. You try to scrub it off but it's greasy and the smell doesn't let up. Makes me feel a little nauseous. It's blunt and off-putting but sweet, cheap-smelling but not exactly in a bad way if you're into that. I did buy mine second hand so perhaps it has some strange chemical reactions going on.

I might start saying I absolutely love No 4 Bois de Balincourt and Coco Mademoiselle EDT which shares several notes with Icila, so I had high hopes. It is an interesting scent, but there is a very prominent plum note, which I am not a fan of. Someone said it smells like a good wine, like a Merlot or Pineau Noir, and I'd have to agree. Not a safe blind buy and ultimately a no for me, but I can see why people might really like it.

Excited for this one because of the grapefruit note and was curious how this would translate into the patchouli, but all I get is the heavy osmanthus and the rose underneath it. It's a very boring fruity-floral imo, and isn't as nuanced as I wanted. There are thousands of perfumes like this around the mid 2000s that smell identical. It's not terrible at all, but not in my scent profile

The first blast of dollar store rose really took me off guard, it warms up but ends up a very safe floral scent. It's alright, not special. Very, very feminine and smells like pale pink, too sweet for me and not awfully complex. It is very, very loud on my body chemistry and spreads around the room with even just a little bit so it has that going for it!

Jasmine to start and then it becomes an indistinct fruity medley without being very sweet. And finally a bit like if patchouli and coconut was mixed with bath and body works’ Japanese cherry blossom body spray. It’s definitely the most perfumey of MLM’s offerings. The overall effect reminds me of a hair conditioner so I can’t say it’s a love.

I bought the perfume oil on this one. Not impressed it is a nice soapy smell. I though that the perfumed oil would last longer than the spray but it's too soft and subtle it just last maybe for about an hour. It may last longer if get some on your cloth. The 15oz bottle was $65 it should probably go for less for a perfumed oil.

My first impression of Icila was a sexy summer rose. Ohhh this could be a summer staple! And then that patchouli smacked me to my senses. Again?! I instantly fall for rose perfumes and ultimately walk away from the patchouli note that makes my head spin. I will continue my search for a rainy, realistic rose.

plum and rose really stand out to me more than any grapefruit or florals. this scent evokes purple or dark red berries - jammy is a perfect word to describe it. i don’t know that it’s my every day vibe but it’s been a nice cozy change in the colder months. lasts on the skin an entire work day!

This is a pleasant scent but nothing unique. It smells like a plethora of late 90s-early 00s perfumes. This is also not a unisex scent, 100% feminine. My recommendation from this house would be #4 Bois de Balincourt, now that is a unique scent.

All I'm getting is a strong soapy-clean grapefruit, a bit like a fancier version of what The Body Shop used to sell. A teeny but of plum and patchouli rounding it out, but one for the grapefruit fans.

The vanilla softens the sharper floral notes, but the rose is still too dominant for my tastes. I like rose notes, but I enjoy them more in the background. Not a bad fragrance, just not for me.

I think I prefer my rose fragrances to be creamier. This is lovely though if you want to smell freshly showered/bathed.

There’s a really weird and offputting sweetness in this one that I don’t like. Maybe it’s the combo of the osmanthus and the patchouli but something smells dirty about it. I don’t know why but this, to me, smells like a distinct home smell. Like if you went to your friend's house and somebody was making a weird meal.

Maybe I’m crazy, but I legit get straight up latex balloon. Idk why or what note is giving it to me but it’s a hard no for me.

Reminds me of Coco Mademoiselle, but less overpowering. I also smell beeswax/honeycomb when I sniff it close to my skin

the perfume oil blasted me with the grapefruit note. i cant smell anything but citrus. am i crazy? i don't get the rose until it completely dries down and even then it's mostly all grapefruit. it's very masculine to me, but if a man were to wear it, it would be feminine on him. does that make sense? i was expecting the sweetness and rose to be stronger, but all i get is citrus... and i don't like citrus. 1/10.

I got a bottle of the #4 body oil (the Santal 33 clone) i haven’t given it a chance to come into its own perhaps but the stuff isn’t cheap! $50 for 4oz & besides the bottle going much further if there were more of the Santal scent in it I had to put so much on that if I wasn’t just in comfy home hermit clothes, I may have ruined a top or cami (+ I can really smell the natural scent of the carrier oils more rn, I’ll edit in a few months) there are other good Santal moisturizers on the market I’m sure for much less. I figure that if the scent is great I assume the matching products will be just as good & who knows 🤷♀️ maybe in a few months it will be just heavenly) 😬 I digress, we aren’t talking about #4 rn are we? My bad. I got 4 different spray samples w/ the body oil which was so nice & I love Gentle Fluidity Gold’s DNA 🧬 (the ‘cold’ vanilla that makes up the body of the scent really is one of the best, if not the absolute best vanilla I have smelled in this lifetime) but I’m a frag collector & I wear several different scents a day so I need to layer it to keep it interesting, not much... VERY sparingly, only 1 spray of a relatively strong perfume usually does the trick . My favorite so far is a spray (from a sample mind you) of MFK’s 724 & this is my second... it may even take first place or at least tie once I get used to it (once my nose isn’t trying so hard to decide what it’s smelling). For such an affordable (by comparison) perfume it smells so crisp, clean & bright, no citrus cleaning product olfactory references for me... the wood & patchouli aren’t all that discernible but I suspect that they really ground this composition, increases the longevity of the citrus & makes the scent read as more natural than I had expected after knowing the price & the notes. I’ll have an eye 👁️ out for great deals on used, partials, testers & the like

Normally I don’t jump on here to rate a fragrance that I try for the first time. I feel like I usually wanna go on a journey several times with a fragrance to properly describe but holy cow, for me this is an instant LOVE. I’m reviewing this from the perfume oil and I love it so, so much that I just looked online to purchase the eau de Parfum version as well. The best word to describe this is incandescent freshness. The plum and Osmanthus give this fresh vanilla a juicy heart. It feels perfect for every occasion, and maybe it’s the citruses in here but it is lifting my spirit as well. This smells so different in real life than I imagined it. It is the smell of feeling completely beautiful after a hot steamy shower with the steam still rising around your figure. It’s not soapy but it‘s clean. It’s not heavy but there’s passion. If you love Olivine Atelier or Sage Machado perfume oils, this would be a guaranteed yes because it just has that magical quality of making you feel completely gorgeous the moment you put it on. Yes I’m addicted to this perfume already. Ready to reapply the moment it begins to fade. Cannot get enough (I tend to feel addicted to fresh vanillas).

Wearing this today after a brief hiatus - I forgot how much I love this. Bought the full bottle immediately after smelling it in Sephora. It has an almost vintage quality that I adore, like it was meant for a Hollywood starlet. Perhaps it's the Osmanthus, as I notice the same quality in the EDT of Narciso Rodriguez For Her (which I own and love). In a way, it's almost like For Her's springtime little sister.

I haven’t been a fan of a lot of these oils , this one is very fresh and citrusy , I suppose it does resemble the coco Mademoiselle a little in the citrus sense . It’s strange as I don’t get any patchouli or really any notes from this besides the grapefruit and a clean soapy smell . It’s actually quite nice , crisp , clean , bright . Could easily be layered with others for a more unique scent profile .

Maybe it's because I have the oil as opposed to the spray, or maybe something is wrong with my sense of smell (COVID, Chronic sinusitis) because I'm not getting most of the notes people mention from this. To me it's extremely subtle, some light white florals with honey. Absolutely lovely for layering between my vanilla body oil and an orange blossom perfume.

I love this! It’s so beautiful! Soft, not beast-mode, feminine. There’s a floral facet to it and yet it also smells like honey to me. I do not detect a rose note. Smells a little like Chanel Chance or coco mademoiselle, but it is softer, more close to the skin. Could definitely be a signature scent.

This smells just like Oriens Van Cleef & Arpels! Such a pleasant smell, it’s clean with just the right amount of fruity sweetness. I adore fruit and patchouli combo so it’s a 10/10 for me! Makes me feel extra pretty and feminine when I wear this. Just gorgeous 💌

This gives me very sophisticated vibes. I wear it when I want to be chic and put together but slightly mature. Unusual but lovely scent.
