Jazz Club

This was my second ever fragrance I bought, but the first that ever truly stuck out to me. Jazz Club's forever going to be my go-to scents for colder times of the year. I bought this at a Sephora. Among the endless collections of tiring flamboyant bottle designs and luxury names, there near the end of the shelves it caught my attention. There sitting quietly with the larger REPLICA line-up was Jazz Club. It didn't have an obnoxious bottle design, or a pretentious name that screamed luxury in your face. It had a simple, almost medicinal crystal clear bottle with a fabric label telling you the fragrance's name, its scent profile, and the name of the brand. And that was it. Once sprayed, it smelt vanilla-y and like alcohol, like most fragrances do at first. As continued looking around, I just kept coming back to it on my wrist. It slowly but surely kept growing on me. I ended up walking out with a 10ml tester the same day. Then eventually, a 100ml bottle. The smells come together wonderfully. Warm, inviting. It's a sweet yet very intimate scent. Vanilla and rum play very nice. Perfect for colder weather. If I could put a memory to this—which is huge for REPLICA's branding, I'd start like this. You're looking through a window to an urban residential street. It's a rainy late evening, cloudy and gloomy out. You can see the streetlights illuminating the street, it's light reflecting off the wet asphalt. Your window is slightly fogged up along the edges, and it's dark inside your house. You're wondering if you should put on your coat and just go out in the rain for a walk. I happened to be listening to it for the first time when I first found JC. The song and scent are made for each other. Utterly fantastic job by Mason Margiela.

From the very first spray, Jazz Club grabbed me by the lapels and whispered, “Relax, I’ve got this.” The opening is a dangerously smooth cocktail of pink pepper, tobacco, and rum - boozy, spicy, and so classy it probably owns a watch that costs more than my rent. It’s intoxicating without being loud, like a well-dressed gentleman who doesn’t need to raise his voice because everyone is already listening. As it dries down, the vanilla and sage step in and turn the whole thing warm, sweet, and downright comforting - but still refined. Think leather armchair, low lighting, and a drink you can’t pronounce. I caught myself sniffing my wrist all day like I was trying to solve a mystery, and somehow it just kept getting better. It’s marketed as masculine, but let’s be real - anyone can wear this as long as they’re dressed to impress and have somewhere important to be. This is not a “running errands” fragrance. This is an “I have a meeting, a date, or a secret” fragrance. Perfect for cold office days or a cozy lounge where the music is low and the vibes are expensive. Performance-wise, it stuck around for about 7 hours with projection that knows its manners - noticeable, but never obnoxious. I’ll absolutely be buying a full bottle. Yes, the retail price made me blink a little... but this scent makes a strong case for financial irresponsibility in the name of excellence.

This is my absolute favorite perfume, I just wish it had better sillage and longevity. I feel like it only lasts 3 hours, though traces definitely stay in clothes for longer. It says it is a male scent but I think it is more unisex, but I know I tend towards masculine notes...I tend to like musky and woody smells and I like every stage of this dry down. I saw a review on a different site complaining that this smells like a chain-smoking hooker who has never washed her clothes...it cracked me up, I very much disagree but I can still absolutely see why someone might say that lmao. I yearn for something almost exactly like this but better. For me the smokiness is really subtle, not overpowering or gross but I don't always hate cigarette smoke either. The only thing that confuses me about the scent profile is that it lists powdery in the second to last of the "main accords." I don't smell that, I'm usually turned off by anything that reminds me of baby powder...I literally just tried Estee Lauder Youth Dew and I like the spicy notes but on it's own the powder is just too much, I feel like a grandmother. The two seem to layer alright, but you loose the tobacco notes in JC which I think are the fastest to fade anyway

This is my first official adult perfume. I was gifted a sample kit of Replica scents a long time ago and immediately this one was my favorite. I owned a small roller ball vial of this that I broke on new years day years ago, a bad omen for sure. But luckily I got a new proper spray bottle of it a while ago and wear it regularly. The tobacco note comes out really strongly on me I feel like, but I also am just a regular cigarette smoker so that is probably why slash doesn't bother me because of that. It also presents very sweet in my opinion, the vanilla being sugar-y and the floral notes keeping it more natural. I like that it's a masculine, winter-y, night time scent because those are all the things I like (though I really just wear this during the day and any time). Sometimes the most popular one of a thing is the most popular because it's the best one. I feel like this also fits a hot or stormy summer night. I get complimented on it regularly, I can't tell if people actually like it or if it's too overpowering to just not comment but I don't care either way. It's strong and lasts a good amount of hours but does fade eventually before overstaying.

Smells like the man of my dreams (because my husband has been wearing it a lot lately). I always enjoyed this fragrance, but it is a bit too masculine for me to wear myself. My husband was in a jazz band as a teenager, so it felt fitting for him. I ended up getting him the Dossier dupe (partly to save money, and partly because he loves their magnetic caps, lol). Honestly, I am completely blinded by scent association when it comes to this fragrance. Not my fault, I’m in love. If you want an objective opinion, read another review. I love this fragrance. Everyone else seems to like it too. My husband gets compliments on it often. He went dress shopping with me for an event recently. The sales associate told us that one of us smelled amazing. I honestly thought it was me, since she’d been standing so close while helping me into dresses. But when I walked away, I heard her tell my husband it was his cologne. He proudly gave her the name (I’m still working on teaching him the importance of gatekeeping, but whatever).
