Jazz Club

This was my second ever fragrance I bought, but the first that ever truly stuck out to me. Jazz Club's forever going to be my go-to scents for colder times of the year. I bought this at a Sephora. Among the endless collections of tiring flamboyant bottle designs and luxury names, there near the end of the shelves it caught my attention. There sitting quietly with the larger REPLICA line-up was Jazz Club. It didn't have an obnoxious bottle design, or a pretentious name that screamed luxury in your face. It had a simple, almost medicinal crystal clear bottle with a fabric label telling you the fragrance's name, its scent profile, and the name of the brand. And that was it. Once sprayed, it smelt vanilla-y and like alcohol, like most fragrances do at first. As continued looking around, I just kept coming back to it on my wrist. It slowly but surely kept growing on me. I ended up walking out with a 10ml tester the same day. Then eventually, a 100ml bottle. The smells come together wonderfully. Warm, inviting. It's a sweet yet very intimate scent. Vanilla and rum play very nice. Perfect for colder weather. If I could put a memory to this—which is huge for REPLICA's branding, I'd start like this. You're looking through a window to an urban residential street. It's a rainy late evening, cloudy and gloomy out. You can see the streetlights illuminating the street, it's light reflecting off the wet asphalt. Your window is slightly fogged up along the edges, and it's dark inside your house. You're wondering if you should put on your coat and just go out in the rain for a walk. I happened to be listening to it for the first time when I first found JC. The song and scent are made for each other. Utterly fantastic job by Mason Margiela.

From the very first spray, Jazz Club grabbed me by the lapels and whispered, “Relax, I’ve got this.” The opening is a dangerously smooth cocktail of pink pepper, tobacco, and rum - boozy, spicy, and so classy it probably owns a watch that costs more than my rent. It’s intoxicating without being loud, like a well-dressed gentleman who doesn’t need to raise his voice because everyone is already listening. As it dries down, the vanilla and sage step in and turn the whole thing warm, sweet, and downright comforting - but still refined. Think leather armchair, low lighting, and a drink you can’t pronounce. I caught myself sniffing my wrist all day like I was trying to solve a mystery, and somehow it just kept getting better. It’s marketed as masculine, but let’s be real - anyone can wear this as long as they’re dressed to impress and have somewhere important to be. This is not a “running errands” fragrance. This is an “I have a meeting, a date, or a secret” fragrance. Perfect for cold office days or a cozy lounge where the music is low and the vibes are expensive. Performance-wise, it stuck around for about 7 hours with projection that knows its manners - noticeable, but never obnoxious. I’ll absolutely be buying a full bottle. Yes, the retail price made me blink a little... but this scent makes a strong case for financial irresponsibility in the name of excellence.

This is my absolute favorite perfume, I just wish it had better sillage and longevity. I feel like it only lasts 3 hours, though traces definitely stay in clothes for longer. It says it is a male scent but I think it is more unisex, but I know I tend towards masculine notes...I tend to like musky and woody smells and I like every stage of this dry down. I saw a review on a different site complaining that this smells like a chain-smoking hooker who has never washed her clothes...it cracked me up, I very much disagree but I can still absolutely see why someone might say that lmao. I yearn for something almost exactly like this but better. For me the smokiness is really subtle, not overpowering or gross but I don't always hate cigarette smoke either. The only thing that confuses me about the scent profile is that it lists powdery in the second to last of the "main accords." I don't smell that, I'm usually turned off by anything that reminds me of baby powder...I literally just tried Estee Lauder Youth Dew and I like the spicy notes but on it's own the powder is just too much, I feel like a grandmother. The two seem to layer alright, but you loose the tobacco notes in JC which I think are the fastest to fade anyway

This is my first official adult perfume. I was gifted a sample kit of Replica scents a long time ago and immediately this one was my favorite. I owned a small roller ball vial of this that I broke on new years day years ago, a bad omen for sure. But luckily I got a new proper spray bottle of it a while ago and wear it regularly. The tobacco note comes out really strongly on me I feel like, but I also am just a regular cigarette smoker so that is probably why slash doesn't bother me because of that. It also presents very sweet in my opinion, the vanilla being sugar-y and the floral notes keeping it more natural. I like that it's a masculine, winter-y, night time scent because those are all the things I like (though I really just wear this during the day and any time). Sometimes the most popular one of a thing is the most popular because it's the best one. I feel like this also fits a hot or stormy summer night. I get complimented on it regularly, I can't tell if people actually like it or if it's too overpowering to just not comment but I don't care either way. It's strong and lasts a good amount of hours but does fade eventually before overstaying.

Smells like the man of my dreams (because my husband has been wearing it a lot lately). I always enjoyed this fragrance, but it is a bit too masculine for me to wear myself. My husband was in a jazz band as a teenager, so it felt fitting for him. I ended up getting him the Dossier dupe (partly to save money, and partly because he loves their magnetic caps, lol). Honestly, I am completely blinded by scent association when it comes to this fragrance. Not my fault, I’m in love. If you want an objective opinion, read another review. I love this fragrance. Everyone else seems to like it too. My husband gets compliments on it often. He went dress shopping with me for an event recently. The sales associate told us that one of us smelled amazing. I honestly thought it was me, since she’d been standing so close while helping me into dresses. But when I walked away, I heard her tell my husband it was his cologne. He proudly gave her the name (I’m still working on teaching him the importance of gatekeeping, but whatever).

Maison Margiela Replica Jazz Club is a unique and atmospheric fragrance that perfectly captures the feeling of a dark jazz bar with a glass of rum in hand. It opens with a mix of pink pepper, lemon, and neroli before quickly revealing a rich blend of rum, tobacco leaf, and sweet vanilla. The dry down is warm, smooth, and slightly smoky, creating a sophisticated and relaxing scent. Performance is good, lasting around 7–9 hours with moderate projection. For anyone reading this, keep in mind a lot of the hardcore frag community is on the spectrum of pretentious/elitist to contrarian. Most of the people saying this is bad are just saying it cause it's popular, it’s not the most complex frag, but it’s still not one note, it’s not the longest lasting, but I get a solid 6-8 hours, and it’s a totally fair price. Imo this is just a super solid scent, and I’ve never met anyone irl who doesn’t like it, this one girl I used to have a thing with would literally hug me for a minute straight just to smell my neck every time we met, it was like someone out of a fragrance commercial lol, no other perfume has had that effect. I can really only see someone disliking this if they just dislike the fragrance family as a whole. I don’t get heavy booze or smoke(I don’t get any smoke tbh), it’s just a really nice slightly boozy, lightly spiced amber perfume, perfect for colder months or nights out.

This is really amazing, the top notes of pink pepper, lemon, and neroli does a lot to lift this up from just being overwhelmingly sweet mess of Rum/Tobacco/Vanilla, it makes it actually smell like the cologne of a guy at a jazz club. So you get this more masculine traditional cologne scent wrapped up in warm spices and booze and smoke. The dry down is quite sweet though. Overall it's fantastic. I'd consider it masculine leaning, but still unisex. All Replica scents I've tried (even the warm weather ones) have had good projection/longevity, nothing crazy, but people will be able to smell it on you and it'll last thoughout your day. This also has some flexibility to it, obviously it's a winter/fall scent, but it's a complex enough fragrance with the aromatic notes to be solid for near year-round use, excluding the high heat of summer, where to me this will become overly cloying. 9.5/10 - Will be getting a bottle this fall

Amazing scent for an evening out on a cool night. This fragrance develops really nicely and settles into its base notes well. It has one of the most interesting scent developments in my collection, the dry down smells quite different from the top and middle notes, but the transition is smooth and appealing the whole way through. The vanilla adds some depth and sweetness, but it's light enough that it doesn't become cloying or overly sweet with a bit of body heat (this is a good thing in my opinion; I don't typically like vanilla scents because this is a common issue I have with them). I find the fragrance's sillage is a little strong at first, but after 15-30 minutes, it settles at arm's length and stays there consistently for a few hours. I think 2 sprays of this scent is plenty. It's on the stronger side for an EDT. 9/10

Warm, cozy, and classy are the first three words that come to mind when I think of Jazz Club. This stuff is strong for an EDT - I get around 7-8 hours from this with solid projection. On top of that, this has one of the most pleasant openings IMO. Such an amazing scent from the first second to the last. I've sampled almost all of Maison Margiela's scents and Jazz Club is the only one I would get a full bottle of. I can easily see myself spamming Jazz Club during the fall and winter months and I've also sprayed myself during the Spring and it doesn't feel out of place, it's a very addicting fragrance that I'd recommend to anyone. Scents Angel sometimes has a 100ml unboxed tester for under $60 which is an absolute steal for something as good as Jazz Club.

Jazz Club instantly boosts my confidence. Every time I wear it, I feel like dressing better and putting extra care into my appearance, as if it naturally demands a touch of distinction. It captures the mood of a dimly lit lounge bar with leather armchairs, warm lighting, and a drink in hand. Rich notes of rum, tobacco, and vanilla craft a sophisticated, enveloping aura. I pair it with my Horace beard product, which shares those same tobacco and vanilla scent notes. The two blend together seamlessly, magnifying that warm and cohesive feel. Deep and sensual without ever feeling loud, it is a go-to choice for a date, delivering an irresistible, memorable signature.

For some reason this was in the women's section at the store I tried it at so I must say it wasn't what I was expecting lol. I adore this. It's one of the best scents for men I've had the chance to try in a while. Amazing gift to offer a man in your life (especially one you like) and I found it extremely sexy. That being said, this is very strongly in the "men's fragrances" realm and I didn't find it unisex (coming from a woman who wears unisex perfumes often). It doesn't feel female in the slightest to me, it feels like a confident 35-45 year old man with a 5' o'clock shadow who reads Russian literature and enjoys silk ties.

Wow, my first love in the world of perfume. I must admit, my lover is a bit nonchalant - I feel his presence so strong one moment, just for him to disappear without a trace. Yet, I keep coming back, and never seem to get enough. Jazz Club is a very specific feeling that I always catch myself craving. You're in your local smoky cocktail bar, 5 cigarettes in, sipping on a whiskey sour. There's something classy in there, but also something very deranged hiding in the shadows. And all of this is somehow so comforting! It's a sweet smell covered in smoke, reminding you of all these good exciting nights you've had. So sexy.

You’re walking down bourbon street in New Orleans and step into a little while in the wall bar to escape the party in the streets. You order a top shelf whiskey - neat. You start up a conversation with a tall dark and handsome man that had been playing a horn around the corner. He sits next to you and lights up a vanilla cigar. He ask you if you’re from out of town, to which you reply “yes, do you have any recommendations for how to spend my evening?” You explain that you don’t want the typical tourist experience. He pats you on the back, lays down a $100 bill on the bar, and says “follow me”. That’s Jazz Club.

I love this so much but it’s cloying in the heat and better suited for cold weather. I didn’t like my first sniff of this but smelled it on my neighbour and decided to give it a second try. If you like rum, tobacco and vanilla, this is for you. It opens up with rum, pink pepper and neroli. The after a few minutes, there’s the slightest hint of vetiver and tobacco which adds some earthiness and balances out the sweetness of the vanilla. It’s a very rum forward fragrance. I really like this for date nights and if I want it a little sweeter I layer it with BBW bonfire bash mist.

If I could put this scent on the fragrance Mount Rushmore, I would. It perfectly captures the vivid, yet profoundly serene experience of a vintage jazz club The air is rich with cigarette smoke The aroma of whisky and champagne wafts through the dimly lit room It's truly one of, if not the best, fragrances from this line. It does such a good job of feeling retro and vintage, without feeling old-fashioned, stuffy, or dated It's sweet, warm, cozy, spicy, and it gets compliments I CANNOT RECOMMEND THIS FRAGRANCE ENOUGH if you're a fan of Mason Margiela, buy this please

Jazz Club by Maison Martin Margiela is a truly fantastic, warm, boozy and alluring scent. On my skin, It opens up pretty sharp but within 10-15 mins, settles down into a beautiful warm, boozy sweet scent with a smoky/woody note to it. Being an EDT, I am fairly surprised that this perfume lasts a solid 8-9 hrs on skin with a good projection in the first 2 hours before settling into a warm & sweet skin scent at arms length. I don't see why this perfume can't be worn year around and in all honesty is a great unisex perfume. An absolute banger which is a 8/10

Honestly, a pretty perfect fragrance. There's a reason it's one of the most popular. And it's so singular, recognizable anywhere, even though it smells uniquely different on each person who wears it. I love it. That said, it's too popular, so I can't bring myself to wear it often, no matter how much I adore it. Something I value in fragrance is finding niche scents that make people say, "I've never smelled anything like that before," and unfortunately everyone knows someone who's signature scent is Jazz Club. Also, this is not for men. It's for everyone.

Mature, tobacco heavy sexiness. Jazz Club reminds me of the room of adults we weren't aloud to be in as kids. Cigars and alcohol take this fragrance on very heavy but it's so pleasant. I can tell this fragrance wasn't engineered to be the most pleasing for people but it was made to demonstrate a moment in time. I would love to smell like this all the time. Super masculine and mature, not a young persons scent. This fragrance will definitely have you smelling the most INTERESTING in the room. Gorgeous.

This is such a seductive scent. Some days the rum and tobacco notes are too much for me, others I genuinely can’t get enough of it. I like pairing it with greener, fresher scents for a more complicated scent profile (basil and neroli by jo malone pairs well with it, or valentino green stravaganza) It smells heavy and like it’s intended to be smelled by a lover directly on the skin. Paired with anything light or remotely sweet, it’s intoxicating. I can smell it all day!

I love tobacco scents, and Margiela Jazz Club is a worthy addition to my tiny collection. Tobacco is already present in the opening, and it definitely is a boozy formulation, with rum mixed in. I thin this is more for men, no such sweet florals or other sweet stuff. Its performance is just average, but no problem to respray. I have a other tobacco-infused fragrances, so even with constant respraying, this will still last me years based on my usage.

This was the 2nd full size fragrance I purchased, originally for a Christmas present for my partner paired with By the Fireplace. I couldn’t get enough of this profile and it became my signature scent for a couple of years, we’ve gone through nearly 2 bottles. Absolutely love the heady sexy rum-like notes. Warm and boozy, reminds me of drinking a manhattan in low lighting, true to title in that it transports you to your best jazz club memories.

Sweet, smooth, slightly boozy, cozy. Has waves of increase in strength before it comes back down again. There is a touch of tobacco but it’s not in the way you would think. Think of it as the smell of cigarettes before they found out that smoking causes cancer. It’s seductive. The house does a great job at painting vivid pictures with scents. Jazz club is an appropriate name for this fragrance.

When I die I'll be wearing this and buried with the bottle. It's boozy, it's mature, it's deep. You don't need another person telling you what the notes are, it's immaculate. Too mature for your age? Buy it now, save it for when you start growing grey hairs, it'll be the perfect compliment. I love this fragrance, it's gift and we should all fear the possibility of this ever being discontinued.

smells amazing tho to me the tobacco comes across a little cocunutty especially in the air but other than that its absolutely an honor to have and wear this perfume and dont let the EDT concentration throw u off, straight out the box it lasted 12 hours on me even after i showered and projected for 6 hours. i wasnt excpecting that performance at all but im shocked in the best ways possible

Do I wish the projection was stronger? Yes. But regardless, this is a beautiful and unique blend that still has longevity. It is simultaneously classy, sexy and masculine. Don't buy it to impress strangers from afar, but rather to remind family, friends and those lucky enough to get close to you how blessed they are to be granted proximity to the high value man that you are. 10/10

This is listed as a men’s fragrance, but I love this on myself.Wonderfully smoky and sweet (but not candy sweet) I wear this out when I don’t want to smell like flowers or fruit. Very sexy! Not as smoky as By The Fireplace, which is TOO smoky for me and gives me a headache. I would like it on a man also, but my husband would never wear it as he likes fresh aquatic scents.

such a yummy scent! my boyfriend bought this for himself and it's hard for me to keep my hands off him lol at first i thought that the smoky notes were a bit too intense to wear this myself, but the drydown is absolutely gorgeous and i might have to buy a bottle of my own some day! but until that day, i will have to keep on constantly sniffing my partner <3

As of June 2026, this is my absolute favourite fragrance. It’s sweet, smoky and sexy. I’m not sure if I’ll ever find a scent that’s better than this. I love every note, from the top to the base. I’m delighted with both its longevity and sillage. I’ve even bought a spare bottle. I wear it all year round, whether it’s summer or winter.10/10

i like how margiela is able to replicate how a jazz club would smell so well. this is nice, not sickly at all. i get a rich and inviting booziness with fresh tobacco and hints of vanilla. gets me a good amount of compliments. however not the easiest to wear. can't imagine my self reaching for this as an everyday or for a gym scent. 7.2/10

Very nice mass appealing fragrance and doesn't shout at peoples face nice, calm tobacco fragrance It is good for cloudy days or school. wear inside or on colder days very worth it especially if you buy it used! this fragrance is SO sexy. i wore santal 33 in the morning and this in the evening of my wedding day. it's musky, smoky, sultry...i feel like a WOMAN when i'm wearing it. maybe because it's supposed to be a masculine scent? i don't know. but i LOVE it and i am dreading the day i run out of it.

Jazz Club is lovely, surprisingly light and playful: it's everything the reviews say but not nearly as challenging as you might imagine. If you're worrying about something too dark, give it a try, it's perfectly wearable. Kilian's Old Fashioned is the one I go to for a really dank whisky bar!

I have this in the sample, and unfortunately, I love this a lot. Very masculine, which surprised me for some reason. Tobacco is balanced out by the vanilla and rum, it’s perfectly lovely. If anyone wants a more affordable option, transfixed by Demeter is another tobacco that’s equally lovely

I HATED this the first time I sampled it, but tried it again and had to get it. Feels masculine in such a sexy way, not so aggressively "MAN" in the way that a lot of tobacco and alcoholic scents are. The vanilla and citrus keeps it just sweet enough and there's no sickly wood base.

This is my signature scent. I have gotten more compliments on this than I can count. I know that it is marketed as a scent for men, but I am a woman and I feel that it is truly unisex. Great longevity, captivatingly spicy, smoky and sexy. A must have for the fall and winter!

One of my favorite ever scents. Slightly sweet, smoky and boozy. However, I find I can wear this fragrance literally everyday, even in 30 degree heat. its performance is alright, I find myself applying many sprays and churning through bottles. Could not recommend more.

The name perfectly describes what it smells like. Replica does this right and I think it's a cool idea. The first fragrance that got me into this brand/perfume line and for a good reason. Strong thumbs up from me. A fragrance I will repurchase as long as I can.

This would be my go to scent for deep winter if the performance was better. I more so just throw this on when im lounging around just to smell this beautiful scent. It just does not last at all. I really hope they remake this into a parfum or extrait.

Great fragrance, the tobacco could be offensive to some in the opening but it develops into a nice comforting vanilla. It’s great for going out in colder weather, but it’s not the most mass appealing. Still a very beautiful scent.

in my opinion it's a very warm and cosy fragrance. it doesn't have that super masculine smell that can come with smoke and tobacco. it's welcoming and soft. very unisex and perfect for the autumn/ winter (or any cosy evenings)

It almost smells like root beer to me. or the scent of my uncle's bmw convertible, laced with the scent of cigarette smoke, that he used to take me for rides in when I was a kid. masculine, cozy, and winter-y. I love it.

The most beautiful unisex (leaning masculine) Boozy perfume. As a women this is the only perfume in this genre i need, and i've tried some. Love wearing this in autumn and winter, one of my "reading and Library" scents.

An addicting scent. Imagine sipping rum at a warm, dimly lit bar while smoking a cigar. The scent is comforting, classy, and evocative all at the same time. Perfect for a cold night in or a night out at the bar.

I hear it’s unisex but when I want to feel manly I put this on. Boozy, tobacco, and vanilla. Love it. Only gripe is the longevity. I wear it at work. I wear it out at night. I keep some on me to reapply. 8.2/10

Currently on my second bottle, LOVE this DNA, very boozy, rummy, hint of tobacco with a kiss of citrus in the opening, dry down? Immaculate. Even though it’s not as long lasting, the fragance itself is amazing!

im in absolute love with this parfume. Top notes on my skin smellls like a wet concrete with good sigar. Heart notes gives a bit sweetnes and base notes just comletes this masterpiece

For me it's the best boozy tobacco fragrance but sadly the performance is such a shame. If it had a better performance, I would buy a litre of it. Scent is 100/10. Performance is 4/10
