Tender Defiance

If you love licorice and incense this fragrance is the one you have been searching for !!! It is sweet but aromatic, comforting yet fusing, the definiton of contrasted emotion in a bottle ! Scentsorium Collection is the best Margiela launch in my opinion.

I haven’t tested Tender Defiance yet, but I’m dying to try it! The other fragrances in this collection are just incredible, so I have really high hopes for this one. Anise and balsam fir sounds like such a cool, unique combo—I can’t wait to discover it!

All the reviews below me looks like it’s from a marketing agency for MM. Too artificial and obvious. Let me match the vibe. Anise masterclass! Masculine. Good sillage. Good bottle. Overpriced for sure, but for those who can afford, it’s enjoyable.

Sweet incense, slightly creamy, very enveloping. It smells cozy at first, then shifts into something more rebellious and unexpected. There’s something addictive here, no cap!

Obsessed with the licorice and incense mix. It’s such an addictive, chic scent. Smelling it feels like taking a tiny mental break to just breathe and feel free.

First, I will love Margiela forever and beyond. The name alone intrigued me, and when I smelled the juice... I just want to say thank you Monsieur Ropion!

basically smells like anise. interesting since it's not a super common note in perfumery and here it is showcased at the fore front. i love the novelty of it but idk if i feel comfortable wearing it (i kinda worry that ppl will think i'm drunk on pastis or smth). unfortunately terrible performance. the anise is gone within a couple hours and you're left with some weak and generic amber-wood base that the market is currently flooded by.

I’m trying to get into fragrances with a licorice/ anise note and this one isn’t.. bad? First spray isn’t very strong, soft fir tree, with anis, and sweet licorice. Not one note is stronger than the other, but I detect more amber, woodiness and muskiness in the dry down. Unisex, sometimes even leaning a bit feminine at times. Is this good? Yes, but this fragrance isn’t anything crazy, especially when it comes to that price point.

I really likes this one. It has the Ropion DNA. I feel this is a little reminiscent of FM Hope except swap out the Vetiver with the Conifer in this and no oud. I would best describe this as the sun setting in golden hour, you're standing on a bed of dried pine needles in a park on the edge of a forest that is on the verge of a drought.

Am I the only one who thinks the dry-down smells just like Guerlain's Oud Khol?

I got the discovery set and this was one I was worried about trying. Licorice and anise are not my thing at all. While this isn't as bad as I feared, it's definitely not something I would ever buy or wear. Spicy black licorice just isn't my vibe.

The early bot comments are incredibly obvious, shameful. The IsaBonfils account is new and has only reviews for this collection, marking them all as a love and posting disingenuous comments like "A true masterpiece. Must have in every collection" 10 minutes apart from one another. 10 minutes after their last comment the Yitao account does the exact same thing, also roughly every 10 minutes, with their first comment roughly 10 minutes after IsaBonfils last. At the time of my posting LFF, IsaBonfils, and Yitao all have ONLY these Scentsorium collection in "Perfumes I Want" and "Perfumes I Have" and nothing else, on their account page. The accounts with the spam comments here (including Alvisezula) were all created on the exact same day 2026-04-24. Oops! Again, wildly shameful.

Wow ok the number of fake reviews from the brand here is honestly pathetic. I'm giving this 1* just to balance out the flood of suspicious reviews from all these new accounts that only showed up to rate the 6 new releases from this brand 😂 As for the fragrance itself, it's basically a rip-off of Another 13. That's really all there is to say. It smells thin and synthetic, dressed up with a niche price tag. Nice bottle tho. Typical L'Oréal.

Dark, smokey licorice and incense... Sounds a lot like Ajwaa by Lattafa. I'm very excited to smell this one!
