Évasion Bonbon

This is the fragrance I've been searching for since my 20's. I've burned through all the strawberry fragrances I can get my hands on and they've never fully satisfied until this one. I love it completely. To me it does smell exactly like those red and white striped hardboiled donut shaped sweets that are so hard to find in the UK - there is gentle freshness and a creaminess. If you haven't tried it yet, whilst I really like the opening it can be off-putting initially and is not a reflection of the wear overall (which to be fair is quite common in a lot of niche fragrances). It is worth giving it a full wear. I gave it to a friend to sample on skin. She was dubious she'd like it after testing on paper. For a couple of minutes she was getting a strong pear drops aroma. Once it settled she loved it too and said it was absolutely joyous. I would wear this for anything, anywhere any time, imo it could be a signature scent.

This is the sugared strawberry candy scent I've been dreaming about since a started my perfume journey! It is is perfectly delicious, pure sweet gourmand joy of strawberry candy! One of the top gourmands in my collection. Totally not getting the cough syrup comparison, I guess I'm lucky we did not have such flavour in my region (Europe). Out of any possible comparisons, it is the closest to the Strawberry Gurlz by FUMparFUM. I would say it's comparable to Bubble Gum Factory by Theodoros Kalotinis, but they are still different (Kalotinis has more mixed caramel and candy scent, while Mataha is focused on strawberry sugared candy). It does remind me of a strawberry chewing gum, but from today's world, not my childhood. Also chamallows is an accurate comparison, the European, not American ones. Cannot recommend it enough! It does also last very long, deliciousness present through the entire wear 🥰

Not for the faint of heart. I find this scent very polarizing and somewhat esoteric. It's a synthetic, saccharine strawberry gourmand. Imagine drinking Strawberry Nesquik milk through a Twizzlers. Becomes more caramel-like as it dries down, but it retains that hot pink sweetness of strawberry candy. It's a delight to wear, if you can bear the brunt of the cloying candy texture of it. It has a duality of childlike whimsy and classy sophistication. I will admit, the first time I got my nose on this scent, it made me gag because it so viscerally reminded me of Twizzlers, and it's my least favorite candy of all time. After about a week of sitting with the scent, I became enamored by this aroma, and I couldn't stop spraying myself with it. I think it works best on a breezy spring day, or on a below freezing winter evening. Gourmand lovers will have a field day with this one.

I don’t know what to say; I really really enjoy it. It smells EXACTLY like those swirly pink and white candy and I enjoyed as a kid. It has this very nice - and not medicinal to my nose - strawberry and marshmallow note that has caramel to add depth to it. I see reviews saying that it’s too cloying or medicinal but I disagree, and I have smelled medicinal strawberries before (cough cough, Miami Shake). Could be summer appropriate due to the fruity note in the opening, but it’s definitely better for the colder seasons considering the sweetness of it. 100% needs to be tested first, but I can assure it’s a photorealistic strawberries and whipped cream candy with a slight marshmallow note in it. If you want to smell like THAT, then it’s the scent for you because my is it a really nice candy perfume. Rating: 8.5/10 🍓🍬

Really nice sweet strawberry forward MULTISEX scent. You get the strawberry note or to my nose more slightly tart rhubarb which is knocked back by the caramel and musk notes. Vanilla and a hint of jasmine, this is sweet but not super sickly sweet and not ‘feminine’. It is rhubarb/strawberry jam and vanilla ice-cream rather than full on juicy strawberry. It smells quite young but could be worn at any age. Good performance and an any season daytime scent. Age 13+. Doesn’t feel uber niche feels a bit like a celebrity scent. Pity there are no clones of it as it’s really pleasant but way overpriced for what it is... joyful and fun. 8/10.

I got a sample of this and brownie pop when I bought escapade gourmand. Call me crazy but I am wayyyyyy into this scent. I get the cough syrup amoxicillin comparisons. But it’s so sweet and straight up candy strawberry and strangely reminds me of smelling my cabbage patch dolls heads in the 90’s. Totally smells synthetic but I don’t care I love it. It’s what I thought candy rock sugar would smell like but didn’t I haven’t smelled boujee marshmallow because I think that name is stupid so I can’t compare. This is a fun spring/summer scent and I may purchase when it’s in stock and warmer months approach.

Immediately, upon spraying, and one is hit with a sweet fruity bubblegum accord. I honestly have no idea how that didn't make it to the list above and I also don't know how to add it so here we are. The strawberry is also quite bright, followed by a subtle caramel note and a creamy vanilla. On the dry down it is bubblegum and vanilla sprinkled with powdered sugar. I don't detect the jasmine, but if it was properly blended it may be seamlessly blending in behind the sweet, nostalgic bubblegum, vanilla and strawberry 🍓

Much better than I expected, for sure the best strawberry-forward fragrance I've tried. This one does smell like those strawberry swirl candies. Quite sweet in the opening and tones down a bit towards the mid and drydown. Smells great in the air and love catching whiffs of this one. Borderline too feminine for me as a guy, but since it becomes less sweet in the drydown I will probably rock this.

I love it so much. Its something super sweet, very youthful, and completely feminine. It literally smells like Play-Doh dipped in a candy coating. I dont know why I always loved the smell of Play-Doh as a kid but it makes me so happy it's nostalgic. By the way, what note in here is making it smell like play-doh? I dont understand

These 2 are a MUST!!! 😍😍😍 They've been taking their sweet time and probably been perfecting them for a super long time! Quality is top noch with this brand. Cannot wait to try them both. Escapade Gourmande is in my top 2 for life scents. Gonna order next week when they hit my country!!!

Very nice strawberry bonbon candy smell it is a little bit synthetic but that doesn't matter to me at all. Performance is pretty good and in my opinion this is as good if not better than escapade gourmande. Love it

The opening of this is in-your-face strawberry candy but it dries down to a slightly musky fruity floral that is quite nice.

This is what I wanted from the new Kayali boogie marshmallow. I find Kayali quite juvenile smelling and reminds me of a cheap McD’s strawberry milkshake with a musky note and no marshmallow. Evasion Bonbon smells exactly as they intended it to. I get very realistic and creamy strawberry candy or “Cream Savers” hard candy sweets to be exact. It also reminds me of the powdered pink strawberry sugar Bon Bon toffees, both sweets we used to get in the 80’s. This is a scent for a cool sunny day. It makes me feel happy. It’s a sweet, nostalgic, comforting and fun daytime scent. It’s so well blended and delicious. The sweetness is also just right. I have to say I really dislike the first couple of minutes and that’s where I think people are judging this scent. It is very sickly sweet and harsh on the initial spray, but it dies down quite to the strawberry cream saver scent I do enjoy

There is a Dolly Parton quote that gets widely circulated: "It's costs a lot to look this cheap." It also costs a lot to smell this cheap. I'm often the first person to complain about fragrances being too sweet but I have a soft spot for a big, trashy strawberry note. I don't get cough syrup at all; I do get a brief hint of the pink liquid amoxicillin I sometimes got as a child. And to be honest, I kind of like it. Red bull, or Strawberry Fanta yes, I can see that too. Chamallows, definitely. It dries down into something more like strawberry liquorice laces, with that somewhat waxy quality. I love those. And I have a place in my heart for this kind of nostalgic, overtly juvenile, candy-coated perfume. If it was a cheapie, this would be a no brainer. Because it's an expensivie, I have to pause.

A pretty photorealistic bubblegum scent. The dry down is extremely sweet and could definitely be too cloying for some people as I prefer my fragrances to be very sweet, and it was even a bit too much for me. The two strongest notes are chamallow and strawberry but I get distinct caramel and a hint of ylang ylang. Thankfully (for me) I don’t get any jasmine. The sweetness subsides after about 30 minutes and is no longer cloying, but rather smells like a soft, slightly fruity marshmallow. Has moderate sillage and lasts all day. Saw that this was compared to BBW Strawberry Pound Cake but I highly disagree. Strawberry Pound Cake is a creamy strawberry scent and has absolutely no bubblegum leanings.

ever since i caught a whiff of this i have been DYING to know what candy this smells like. i quite like this but i may be a bit biased because it’s reminding me of something from my childhood? i’ve seen people say it smells like those grandma candies but NO i swear it’s something different. please help. anyway, even though i like this i do think it smells a little “cheap” for the price. as in it smells super artificial. it’s fun and all but definitely not worth that price point. also don’t expect any creaminess or softness just because of the marshmallow note this was VERY sharp to my nose lol

I’m glad I’m from an era where all the medicine we took in the 70’s wasn’t fruity and makes me think almost every fruity fragrance smells “medicinal” lol. I have no clue what people mean when they say this and I’m so happy about that. With that said, this a fruity candy bomb! Is it my favorite from the brand, no but is it good absolutely yes. Nice silage and projection plus it layers well with so many fragrances that could use a fruity candy kick.

With the polarising reviews I was weary to try this, but, man, is it so much fun. It’s instant scent memory the moment I sniffed this joyful, carefree goodness - it’s strawberry hard candy. Best for colder spring weekends for bossing fun, joy and colour in your day. I love when scents connect directly to the emotions and this brings out the happy side for sure.

Not bad. The chamallow is very strong. The longevity is amazing. The sillage is amazing. I can smell the strawberry and the caramel. It’s very well rounded and it seems like a nice fragrance to layer with oils. I do not see myself getting a full bottle, but it is on my list of things in the possible future.

This smells exactly like the swedish candy "gröna grodor" 🐸 A bit too artificial for my liking but an interesting and quite nice scent. The longevity isn't great for the price. I will stick to Escapade Gourmand which is well worth the price tag 😍

This is what I expected Kayali Yum Boujee to be! I expected Strawberry cremesavers and got something that quickly erased the strawberry note in the top. This fragrance is definitely strawberry cremesavers candy without smelling artificial.

For me smells exactly like chamallows. It’s synthetic and artificial but this is literally how they smell like. The only problem I have with it is its longevity, on my skin lasts maybe like 2 hours, but scent itself isn’t bad.

Ce parfum sent les fraises Tagada surtout en ouverture, puis la fraise devient plus douce en séchant. J'aime beaucoup! Par contre la tenue et la projection sont à revoir!

This one took me on a bit of a journey! The opening completely won me over with the unmistakable scent of sweet strawberry Chupa Chups. It absolutely nailed the vision of strawberry candy as it is bright, sweet, and incredibly edible. Yes, it had an artificial quality, but in a pleasant way. After all, what can one expect from something that takes inspiration from an artificially flavoured sweet? Unfortunately, the dry down is when it took a bit of a turn for me. As the fragrance settled, the realistic candy faded and was replaced by a more synthetic, almost chemical scent. The closest comparison I can make is to a strawberry energy drink that's been sitting in a plastic cup for a while. It wasn't necessarily bad, but it lacked the delicious candy quality that made the opening so good. This isn't a bad fragrance by any means, but I found myself wishing the opening had stuck around longer. That incredible strawberry candy phase only lasted about an hour or so on my skin before giving way to a dry down that just didn't capture the same magic.

I enjoyed sampling this. It's a good sweet scent for the wintertime that isn't too cloying. From the start, the strawberry candy and marshmallows are apparent. The strawberry is tart, smelling more so like fresh strawberries than the synthetic flavoring, and the marshmallow is sweet and slightly powdery. Unfortunately, the strawberry candy fades after about an hour. After this, I mainly get marshmallows. About two hours in though, the marshmallow becomes almost coconutty when the jasmine and ylang-ylang come out and it also becomes very creamy. At about five hours in, the vanilla emerges and adds its sweetness to the mix. Then, once the marshmallows and floral notes fade, it's vanilla and musk for the remainder of the wear. Overall, this is a great gourmand and lasted for about 10 hours on my skin. I probably won't be getting a full bottle though because I wanted the strawberry to last longer and I'm not a big fan of coconut-adjacent smells.

It's so funny out of 60 samples I tried this on one wrist and TK bubble gum factory on the other, came to review and saw bubble gum factory as the top voted... totally disagree with that. Sure they are both fruity but this keeps it fruity, while TK dried down oddly floral and actually ended up being a scrubber for me. This perfume, though not my cup of tea really, is better imo and at least tolerable where I don't need to scrub it off and can enjoy while it fades. For what its worth, I think jousset creme de la berry is better than both this and tk.

It opens with a super realistic strawberry candy smell. In the beginning it's tart, almost reminds me of a strawberry sour candy but as the caramel makes an entrance it becomes more marshmallowy. It quickly dries down to a skin scent, if I smell my wrist from up close I can still smell that sweet strawberry and vanilla candy smell, but it doesn't project. Overall it's a fun scent, and I like that it's very realistic and not synthetic at all, however I would not really reach for it for any occasion.

If you love sickeningly sweet candy, fruity gourmands, I think you’ll really like this. The opening is definitely not for me—it’s straight cough syrup BUT the dry down is quite nice. It’s very sweet and very girly and absolutely nuclear. Be careful how much you spray lol It’s not a full bottle for me, I personally wouldn’t find it wearable with how insanely sweet it is, but if enjoyed the sample while I had it!

Hoooly does this go on a journey. It starts off as concentrated strawberry fanta in a bottle. It's extremely sharp, sugary, and almost carbonated at the opening. It settled quickly and beautifully on my skin to something akin to strawberry nesquik-milk, but WOW is it a lot at first. I adore the dry down but that opening is just a lot... will definitely try again in the future to see how I feel.

I didn’t really love this perfume which was sad because escapade gormounde is literally my favorite perfume ever. It just smelled sort of synthetic to me in the fruit aspect which I didn’t really like. If you like a very strong berry smell you might like this for me though it smelled like a very synthetic berries and cream so I won’t purchase the full bottle.

To my nose this smells overly sweet but the most realistic comparison I can make for the opening is the smell of a freshly opened red bull with that chemical like smell to me at least, it’s not bad but I’d say it’s an easy wear to playful settings.

A very sweet fragrance with a strawberry opening. It is gourmand, feels a little too sweet for me sadly. The strawberry is nice and brings a nice contrast to the overall sweetness. But it is still sweeter than what i prefer.

This is what Kayali Yum Bougie SHOULD'VE been! This smells better on paper than skin. Beautiful opening. This sits very close to the skin and the performance is poor.

Had real high hopes about this one. But kinda just smelt like lipstick if I’m honest, just really false and cloying and I love gourmands but this is not it!

wanted to love this since i'm constantly on the hunt for gourmands which aren't too cloying in a tropical, humid climate like mine. upon spritzing it, it smells like fizzy strawberry soda, which i LOVED. however it very very quickly settles down into a sweet artificial fruity smell with a strong undertone of playdoh. that plasticky, salty play doh smell just ruins it. if there's ever a perfume that captures the spray opening of sparkling, fizzy, effervescent strawberry soda—like when you crack the can open and some of it spritzes out into the air—let me know. but this sadly only mimics that for like half a second before turning into fake strawberry salty playdoh.

I don't know how to explain it, but this starts of with a very sweet strawberry marshmallow note... you know the ones you can buy from British candy shops (pick n mix) with one side pastel pink, the other white? That Chamallow note is SPOT ON!! How they captured the exact scent of that candy.. bravo. That being said.. as it dries down on the skin Evasion Bonbon becomes less gourmand & sweet and more classic soap. Complete soap scent with 0 projection after 30 minutes. Sadly very much a skin scent for me, lasting 4 hours, unacceptable at this price point for a gourmand or ANY perfume. Definitely try before you buy, and for gummy candy and soap lovers.

This is too sugary sweet, it's straight up sticky artificial candy. I uses to think there was no such thing as a perfume too sweet, but here's the exception. I also tried a decant of bubble gum factory and they are not similar. Bubble Gum Factory it's spicier and more toward a gum smell but ruined by a bitter burned coffee note that's not declared. I don't like either. I'm still looking for a true bubble gum scent.

This is such a joke. It smells like something that cost like $3.99 in the 1980's as a silly novelty perfume. Just juvenile. Could even be compared to a body spray from BBW. Smells like strawberry candy, but not worth niche perfume prices. Go for Burberry Her Elixir if you want strawberries and want to over pay for a bottle of so-called perfume, but not this.

As someone who loves sweet, gourmand scents- this isn't it for me. Comes off as overwhelmingly, chemically sweet for the first hour or two, but does mellow out over time to a more gentle sugary note. At the moment, I'll keep my sample for that reason.

No no no no no. Absolutely no strawberry or caramel or anything. This is just blah, meh and not worth all the excitement 🙄 ugh. Maison Mataha did us dirty with this one and Brownie Pop ☹️ My girl Vannamae_ said it best her review is exactly 💯

This one was a tough one for me, but it was a very nostalgic smell, like the strawberry lip gloss I wore as a child. Sadly I really didn't enjoy it beyond that.

This is the second gourmand of the house I tested, and while Escapade Gourmande was quite enjoyable and wearable even if a little bit "flat", this one at least for me is a total fail. It almost seems trolling, dunno how to explain it fully. The opening is litterally the Friizy Pazzy smell, if you can remember those chemical things back in the 80's, a strawberry powder you could put in mouth and while becoming a chewing gum it used to "explode" in a sensation of effervescence. For those who are not familiar with this you can image a strawberry chewing gum (a la Big Babol) and you will have an idea, or a Mashmallow. The sweetness is extreme, and piles up with some flowers to then dry down into a vanillin-musk, very generic, with some strawberry nuances still noticeable. No idea who whould wear something like this if not for trolling, during a carnival party for example, no idea really. Just stop the gourmand madness going on.

It's actually wild how offensive this becomes during the drydown, considering how it's already such a miserable first spray - plasticky, medicinal, atrocious synthetic strawberry that smells way cheaper than it should at this price point. Shocking first impression that only somehow gets worse and worse as time goes on. 5-10 mins in, you get hit with the worst part that will now stick with you - a straight up play-doughy plastic mess. It's like chewing on your own hair hair and an empty plastic bag that once held Twizzlers at the same time in the middle of a dentist office. The thing of nightmares. Thankful to every god in the history of deities that I got a sample and didn't blind buy. A full bottle of this would be nothing short of a chemical weapon. The sample I got wasn't even worth the ~1 calorie burned by whichever poor soul that poured the decant. Keep this shit far, far away from me.

Honestly, i do not know what to say about this fragrance other than the fact that I am so disappointed. Does it smell like sweet gourmand candy? Of course. However, that is not justified for the price point. My expectations regarding more expensive niche perfumery is that it projects better. This moderate - skin scent is definitely not it. Honestly, if you have the money and want to spend on smelling like candy, this might be for you. But, if you are investing in a nice niche fragrance, I would advise that you look somewhere else to save yourself the heartache and disappointment.

I love gourmands and sweet scents, and have other Maison Mataha fragrances I’ve tried that I like, but this is too sweet even for me. All I can smell is a sickeningly sweet artificial strawberry note that I can’t seem to escape once I spray this. I tried to give my sample to my strawberry fragrance loving daughter and even she thought it was too sweet and didn’t like it. It’s just not for me.

Invasion Bonbon I have never encountered anything more disgusting in perfumery. Multiply the cloyingness of the most cloying scent by 100 + energy drinks + cough syrup flavorings + Plenvu (don't even try to google what that is). The only plus - is that it washes off easily. Sorry not sorry. I really hate this with passion. If you like energy drinks or cough syrup - go ahead))
