I purchased a discovery set and I am very impressed with all scents I've tried so far from this brand, to the point I am planning to get a bottle of each fragrance. The discovery set has the most memorable, original, fun and creative packaging I have seen so far - a fabric bag with spray samples wrapped in colorful paper with scent description and notes, that look like Christmas crackers or wrapped candies. The scent itself was an immediate like for me. Very wearable, pleasant and suitable for colder days. It's an "easy reach" type of scent. Perfect combination of sweet, warm, cozy, yet light, with just a perfect amount of spiciness and powderiness. Nothing heavy or overpowering. You don't have to be scared of patchouli here. You probably won't offend anyone with this scent. After an entire day of wearing this scent, I am not tired of this scent and I still find it very pleasant. Wearable to work and for casual occasions. Great for day and night. It reminds me a little of Fresh Cream Warm Cashmere by Philosophy, but lighter, less sweet and fresher. Love the design of the bottles. This scent is an easy 5/5 for me.

Lovely cosy autumn-winter scent! A great mix of spices - I can definitely think of this as a scarf perfume - spray it on a scarf, then snuggle in it. :)

Mr Freeze ice pops. The yellow, green or white one, I can’t remember. It’s one of those popsicles in long plastic wrappers that cuts your mouth when you’re fanatically trying to get that last drop of juice out of the plastic. Shockingly to me there is no citrus to be found in this scent, but I am not sure. Is it the fruitchouli? The fragrance itself is fresh and clean, and reminds me of something that I cannot put my finger on (other than the Mr. Freeze reference). I love that sweet, salty spicy pepper in the top, and it actually perfectly complimented by the rose and vanilla. And mind you, I am usually a rose-hater. Though, the rose is very gentle, and it is mostly the sweet musk, and pepper that help the patchouli shine. The vanilla is detectable as well, but it takes a step back and doesn’t really shine until the final drydown. When that final drydown comes and the vanilla shines through it turns into one of those waxy vanillas like ‘Vanille 44’ by Le Labo, and ‘Arthur’ from Penhaligons. Not my favourite scent profiles but they are bearable. In general, I will say that I think this is an exciting fragrance with some very nice aspects. It is perfectly unisex, and it is both light and dark and mysterious at the same time. A lot of mesmerizing layers even though it is pretty simple and straight-forward.

One simply can't see these creations and not be charmed. The bottles are creative, cute and often whimsical. I've tried all of them and my favourites are Nature Insolente, Bain de Midi and this one. Hasard Bazar smells very much like Glossier's you, they definitely falls into the same genre. It's those musky, dry pencil shavings with a pinch of pepper, which I really find pleasing and non-offensive. I can't pick up any vanilla what so ever here though. I kept waiting for it during the dry down because it really would tie the perfume together to make it a bit more complex, but nope. It is very linear. And sadly it's a faint skin scent, don't expect longevity from this brand. They're marketed as edP but performs like a weak edT. The only one that I could smell 4 hours later was Bain de Midi.

Powdery musky vanilla with a hint of spice, a very nice skin scent, but not the strong spicy I was hoping to find, instead I can find I spray this 5 times and its still not at all overpowering. However it also doesn't last particularly long, but for the price its a lovely skin scent that you can afford to reapply.

I really like this scent profile, it's such a gentle tonka fragrance. Musky, a little peppery but not too much, softly sweet, and that distinct powdery deliciousness that only tonka can provide. Just wish I could smell it longer on my skin, but so nice, definitely will check out more fragrances like this one.

On first test this is reminding me of Tom Ford’s Noir pour Femme somehow, which I have a bottle of. Not finding it long lasting but very lovely! Well blended and perfect levels of sweetness. The vanilla feels non-gourmand to me which makes it a big win in my book, as vanilla always takes over my senses.

Wonderful fragrance to me it smells like vanilla ice cream and very moderate sunscreen. I use only 3 sprays, but it still lasts for at least 10hour. Not a manly scent, but its good for all ages. Great compliment getter for the price, everyday frangrance dont wear it to a date or any event.

On my skin chemistry, I get no pepper at all, just powdery sweetness. On me, this is very close to baby powder, almost lipsticky, but without being quite so lipsticky as Merit's Retrospect. Very clean, and sweet powdery scent. Not quite for me, but lovely all the same.

I bought this perfume the first time it smelled like a sweet second skin scent to me. But now on my skin it’s way more resinous but a sweet vanilla resin. It’s probably because of the musc. It’s a simple warm cozy vanilla scent musky baby powder scent.

A clean vanilla, with musc and a very small touch of pepper. Soft, like a skin scent. Office compatible, easy to wear. More appropriate for fall and winter. For sure, you need to like vanilla, the star but here, it is not a sweet vanilla.

Wasn't sure at first, the pencil shavings, scented eraser vibes are strong with this one. Reminds me of post offices and pencil cases. Powder, wood and soft rose. It's growing on me, but I was always a big stationery fan.

Strangely enough, this smells similar to a discontinued powdery men's fragrance : Escada Magnetism for men. This one is a powdery, musky, peppery and ambroxan forward fragrance. I really like it. Unisex for sure.

Delightfully spicy, musky synthetic vanilla. This isn't revolutionary or unique and the longevity isn't stellar, but I like how comforting and skin-like this is. Like babypowder but make it fancy.

I like this, despite being a rose scent. It does not smell like the floral kind of rose. It smells like a fresh, more musky version of it. I'm not drawn to keep it, but it is fresh and light.

I Need to try It again, It's curious and interesting

I keep trying this and I just don't know what I think, it's not leaving much of an impression. It's light, sadly zero projection, and short lived for certain, a few hours and it's undetectable. It's a warm, dry, slightly powdery, lightly musky and sweet background, somehow there's something else too, perhaps just the patchouli, it's the warm fuzzy, even mildly like a light dusting of milk chocolate powder-like patchouli, not the earthy or woody type. I agree with the reviewer below suggesting this smells like scented erasers, it's most like that for the first 10 mins; indistinct, sweet and powdery. Pleasant but uninteresting for me. I would not compare this to Glossier You, but I'm clearly in the minority.

It opens with sweet powdery rose scent, which gives me a picture of some vintage cosmetic products. Then it gets sweeter and more powdery. I don't get any spicy scent from the pepper. To me, it is a quite feminine perfume. I can imagine an elegant mid-aged lady walking by with this smell.

Pepper, tonka and pencil shavings. None of the Maison Matines I've tried have had great longevity or projection but this is a nice, soft, dry skin scent for a cosy day at home.

Great smell, zero projection or silage

Bleuch, one sniff and instantly transported to the pink mouth rinse at the dentist's. Smells exactly like it. Weird metallic type disinfectant-y note. Not for me. Think it must be the pepper as I love many perfumes with rose and musk. I always knew I was iffy with spicy and I think it is pepper in particular now. This is instantly being given away to others, no desire to work through the sample.

Not my favorite. I can understand how many people would like this. It feels conflicting to me. Right away you get the pepper but the rose sneaks up on you. And then a Vanilla dry down. I don’t know. It feels to me like it's having a bit of an identity crisis.

This is an undercover lover of a fragrance, taking a sinuous route through its development but doing so on quiet feet. The opening is ambroxan and pepper heavy but the dry down is a soft woody rose with an underlying sweetness. It's nothing revolutionary or challenging, just a simple slightly synthetic skin scent that I only reach for when I'm in an in between mood. I personally like ambroxan for it's clean woody lightness but if it gives you a headache then skip Hasard Bazar. Maison Matine is very much aligned to the retailers that carry it (used to be stocked at Urban Outfitters but idk if it still is). Young and hip and trend led Style over substance and ultimately forgettable. But that's perfectly fine, everything doesn't have to be a great work of art. Overall I would say that "perfectly fine" sums the whole line up.

Powdery, tonka-rose goodness. To me, this brings memories of a very particular store—I wish I could remember which. Feels clean, grown-up, and elevated. I feel like I’m finally a big girl wearing a scent like this (even if I’ve been an adult for almost a decade!). I am usually more of a gourmand person, but this captivated me the moment I walked into the store, and fifteen minutes later, I was walking out a couple bucks poorer. A lovely, easy-to-wear fresh scent. I can see it working in any environment: the office, the beach, the bar. The projection isn’t the absolute best in the world, but I think that’s fine—honestly, it would probably be a little too intense for my taste if it was any stronger. This is a comfortable, white-t-shirt scent perfect for the warmer months and days when you want to feel put-together.

I really wanted something like this as a signature scent. An indie house not many know about, with cool bottle art for a reasonable price. Most likely with vanilla. I was a bit disappointed though. It's just to weak, nobody other then my girlfriend would notice i'm wearing a fragrance. And the scent is pleasant but not that exciting. That's basically what my problem was with the other scents as well.

it's peppery spicy and suffocating. definitely not the scent i prefer to wear or spray for myself. i'm not exactly sure what this scent is categorized as, "rose patchouli" "spicy warm rose" "spicy rose musk" but it's lacking the freshness i crave from fragrances.

My signature scent. Get complimented on it a lot. I am a dancer and I cannot wear anything too overpowering and overprojecting. This is wonderful. It sits close to my skin but people can still smell it and you can never overspray.

I love the name, I love the bottle. The perfume itself is quite nice. the dry-down reminds me of rose-flavoured Turkish delight.

Not amazing for longevity but I love this fragrance, it has a very pretty soft rose undertone with predominantly musk dry down.

Laundry musky type of scent. But grounded with vanilla and a touch of rose, not a mature rose but an airy one.
