Tu Te Calmes

This smells like a more complex L'eau Papier from Diptyque to my nose. It really has that same fluffy ricey, papery smell to me, the most prominent note and a relief from all the fuzzy, synthetic musks I smell most of the time. I don't really get "citrus" as part of the profile. I smell the bigarade and bergamot in there somewhere, I just wouldn't call it a "citrus" scent. I do get the fig leaf/wood note and the neroli along with something vaguely but pleasantly sweet/fruity (slight) and the cardamom (faint). The neroli is appropriately restrained, which I have found is relatively uncommon in perfumery and shows a deft hand. It's only a blast of sunscreen for a moment and then it fades graciously into the background. The fragrance does, however, retain a nice ozonic and slightly aquatic sensibility about it throughout the beginning and middle of the wear. I wish this lasted longer, but it's a great scent. It takes some of the things I like most about other profiles and blends them effortlessly. Great showing from a new, niche house. 8.5/10.

It smells GREEN and slightly chemicaly, I'd say, also clean and fresh like aldehydes; because aldehydes smell like washing powder to me. It doesn't smell expensive. I don't think it smells like you imagine it should smell judging by the list of the component smells. The smell feels cooling, like mint, but there is no mint at all. It's green, but it doesn't smells like that galbanum greenness, more like freshly cut grass bleeding. I wore it in the early autumn, when it's cool, and I enjoyed it. SUMMER though! It smells twice as good in the hottest days! It's reasonably long-lasting, it definitely lasts for hours. Many people most definitely won't like it, don't blind buy it: it's cheap, but a fail would be a definite disappointment. For some odd reason I like it a lot, I like greens fresh smells without any hint of sweetness, and I don't resent it feeling extremely synthetic. I tried other the perfumes from the same brand in shop, and they are all rather synthetic and weird, don't hope for much, but try them if you see them.

It’s rare that I buy a bottle of perfume in store. But I was in the cutest little boutique and after spraying, I kept coming back to my hand where I sprayed it. So this little gem came home with me. Ultimately, it will be an easy reach. Yoga or staying at home and reading. It’s definitely more of a warm weather profile, but because of the creamy lotion texture in the dry-down, I will be wearing it all year. The opening is a zesty pop of citrus cardamom leafiness, which I can’t get enough of. Then the petitgrain/neroli bridges the gap with citric but creamy florals. It dries down slightly woodier, as if I’d applied a fancy lotion called “fig milk & cedar”. It’s a skin scent at the end of the day. It never gets too sweet for me, which is rare in this price point, though you shouldn’t expect much in terms of longevity. Lovers of In This World by Liis, Sh***y Day by Noyz, Gentle Shower by Elorea, Cacti by Regime des Fleurs, or any of the calming but unapologetically green fragrances in the citrus/woody/green genre will likely be happy.

Green, sweet freshie. With a delicious neroli in that light way, and not as soapy and synthetic as neroli often smells like to my nose. The vetiver is shining through and gives that sparkly vibe, and the fig leaf gives that green creaminess to it all. It is a clear aquatic white floral with that light green freshness to it, and a real contender for any daytime easy-reach spring/summer fragrance. It suits every setting, any gender, and is just one of those clean inoffensive perfumes. I am sad to say that I do not get too much of the cardamom nor too much of the cedar, but the vetiver and fig (which are two of my favourite notes) are doing it all worth it anyways. Longevity is a bit weak, but it is a green citrus and I am not expecting the longest wear from that type of fragrances. What else can I say? Cute bottle, just as I have said about all of Maison Matine’s bottles, but this one is one that I could consider buying for the right price!

I smell the Alien DNA in here, I don't know if I'm crazy, but I definitely smell it - maybe if Alien and Womanity had a fresh, green, baby. I like it fine. The fig is fig leaf, no fruity fig here. Pretty, and I would completely believe you if you told me this was the newest Alien flanker. It's fresh in the same synthetic way as the newer Aliens.

Lot of crispy and green white flowers: I feel neroli and petitgrain. It’s very radiant and might be quite disturbing for some people (like me)), but it’s still a nice fragrance. This I liked a lot. The neroli and citrus are front and center as soon as you spray, but the dry down has such a lovely fig scent. So wonderful and green with a musky, cedary dry down. I wouldn't list this as the MOST mind blowing, but it's a very easy, wearable unisex fragrance.

Earthy, Fresh, Green, Spicy This pulls almost soapy on my skin. It is a fresh green bitter spicy scent. Longevity projection and sillage are better than some Maison Matine fragrances but not great. A solid like. Sillage:2/5 Projection: 2/5 Longevity: 3/5 Leans unisex

The opening was very green, a bit too pungent for my taste. The dry down was much softer, it became nicer and sweeter and so yummy with the cedary-musky vibe. I would definitely wear but need to leave it for like 10-15 before going around anyone.....

Just like No Umi, I’d really love this as my summer scent if MM made anything that lasted. A really creamy oaty suncream smell that I really love. Hope to find something similar and stronger.

Fig leaf, vetiver and a small touch of neroli. Light, more for a man to my opinion. Fresh, green and aquatic. --> for hot days!

Tu Te Calmes is what I wanted Guerlain's cloyingly thick Nerolia Vetiver Forte to be on a sweltering day—its fig leaf-green tendrils unfurling with ease, unburdened by syrupy weight. Neroli, dewy and bright, a squeeze of citrus still glistening with morning condensation. A sweet fig, whole and untouched—flesh, leaves, even the slightly bitter bite of its milky stem. It’s crisp, juicy, and sunlit, all the golden facets of white florals without their usual stickiness. The vetiver here is quintessential Maison Matine—its roots less of smoky and more softly earthy, the kind that lingers underfoot like a sun-warmed field at noon. Yet. No matter how much I inhale, no matter how much my skin drinks in that fresh, airy greenness, it all fades too soon. Ephemeral, gone before I can truly hold onto it, breeze through an open window. A perfect summer scent, but one that vanishes into a mirage. Would I reapply? Yeah! Would I sigh about it? Also, yeah.

Harsh citrus, iodine, and a woodiness similar to the fantasy note of cashmere. It is fresh, but the citric woody side is way way too dominant! There's also sweetness at the same time. Green notes are coming from deep down but they just can't seem to break through to the surface. It really wore me out. Why does this remind me of Alien so much... even though there's absolutely no connection at all, my brain made the link and now it's stuck. Upon spray I thought I got tropical facets with citrus. I think it may be neroli, vetiver, and citrus. There’s a bit of lotion quality to it.

I love fig, citrus, and vetiver. I enjoy neroli and cardamom in a blend as well. by the notes, this should be perfect. For me in reality, this is screechy intense neroli. I thought it might get creamier and more complex with the fig and woods in the dry down, it just didn’t for me. This is for someone who truly adores neroli and doesn’t shy away from dominant white floral.

I know that this is inspired by outer space, but to me this smells like laying on the beach in Greece, wearing sunscreen. I get a lot of neroli and fig, as well as saltwater. Unfortunately, the salt-water effect comes across a bit like calone, and that ruins this fragrance for me. If it wasn't so synthetic (calone) smelling, I'd enjoy this so much more.

Blind bought because of the cute bottle and it's horrid. Badly blended, cheap smelling body sprayish nightmare put together with low quality materials. There's also a truckload of calone in this.

This is a very original perfume, marine but with tropical flowers (they are not listed but I do perceive them). At the beginning it smells a lot like lemon oil. It is a very sparkling citrus. Then it smells to me of neroli and tiare where the ornamental green shoots present in the bouquet are actually algae (a curious smell that I think comes from the mixture of the green notes of fig leaves and petitgrain with the marine aquatic note ). This mixture brings to mind at times the scent of Acqua di Sale. It is sweet due to the floral part but also salty. In the drydown, a woody background can be felt. I think it is a perfume that I am going to love to wear in summer, during the day and for informal occasions, although I also imagine it perfect for a sunset after a day at the beach. I used to love the hell out of this scent when I first got the tester. I waited a few months and got the full bottle but I can't get myself to love it like I used to. When I loved it, it smelled like Rituals Serendipity but a more masculine version. Now it's airy, green, and salty. Too masculine leaning for my enjoying. I think it's the fig leaf that ruins it the most for me, too green.

I got the discovery set, smelled this from there, and (at least for me) it smells like Phlur's (now discontinued) Añoranza! Although a bit lighter. Might look into buying a full bottle of this 💚
