Rawdah

Rawdah is the third bottle I own from Maison Origine and if you have followed my reviews you will know how much I enjoy this very high end, very serious niche Parisian house. They specialise in Middle Eastern complexity fragrances with Middle Eastern accords in many cases but blended and presented in a very chic Parisian style. Rawdah is perhaps their best known fragrance and is certainly easy on the nose. The opening is a burst of fruity florals against a gorgeously rich patchouli and it is the relationship between the fresh accords and the patchouli in the base that dominate and define what Rawdah is. There is some benzoin-sweetened vanilla in the lower half of this and a smoked wood decking that adds a bit of grounding context but what impresses me most here is the top notes. The florals are scintillating. There is neroli and some rose but they do sit behind some sparkling jasmine and osmanthus giving this a true bouquet which makes this easily the most unisex of the Origines I have tried and I would even go as far as to say it leans a bit feminine. It is a masterclass in fine French style blending. The fruits are deliberately a bit indistinct as there are there to add body and a little bit of extra sweetness to the florals only. This is a very fine floral showcase and I am absolutely here for it. It is definitely floral front and centre. Once you really get to know what Rawdah is about there is a sweetness, a tenderness and a brightness that is hard to resist but it is all done with a characteristic Origine way, so it is super rich and deep. If you are looking for a carefree, airy summer dress floral, a spray-and-forget dumb reach, this isn't the one. It has a similar vibe to Impadia by BDK but without the oud; a vibrant and lush floral that leans into its character and richness. The osmanthus and the vanillic notes grow in stature as this dries down and It does sweeten, although the patchouli dominates the base and heart the whole time. I adore the way the benzoin and vanilla push the patchouli slightly creamy on the skin as it dries down. It is definitely not linear. It stays 7-8 hours on my skin and projection is very impressive for a fragrance of this type. This is absolutely wonderful stuff and I loved it from the moment I tried it on my skin at the store. I really recommend Rawdah. I wear it less than 01ER and 018ER which are much heavier, much more masculine oudy powerhouses (but no less beautifully blended and every bit as stylish) but it is a gorgeous summery scent I love on my skin. Layering suggestion: there is already a lot of power and complexity here so choose wisely. I'd recommend a nice smooth Guayac or Sandalwood-focused base layer, perhaps with some oud, that isn't too sweet, just to add some weight to the base perhaps for a big/formal night out. Santal Wood by Montale might be a nice option. I think Oud Wood Parfum by TF might go too sweet but you may enjoy trying it. This is my first review on Fragrantica, and I had to start with one of my favorite perfumes — Maison Origine Rawdah. OH MY GOD — this is incredibly sensual, luxurious, with the perfect touch of sweetness. From the very first spray, you’ll feel confident, sophisticated, and effortlessly elegant. It opens bright and fruity with a hint of spice, flows into a warm, floral heart, and finally settles into a rich, scent with a stunning projection that leaves a lasting, unforgettable trail. I’ve received so many compliments, even from strangers! I mostly wear it in evenings and winters, and from what I’ve seen, it’s only available in Dubai stores or online. This is definitely a must-try for anyone who loves a captivating, powerful, and memorable fragrance.

Out of all the brands offerings this is hands downs the best of the rest The sweetness is not cloying or annoying it’s a little reminiscent of floral notes I gotta say it felt creamy almost like tuberose Which I enjoyed very much while wearing it You don’t have to worry about performance or projection Somehow unique and very fun to wear Nothing I’ve tried so far from this Brand comes close to this
