Bed Of Roses

Mmmmmm, this is goooood! This is a tall glass of warm milk, sweetened with strong, quite animalic honey, spiced with smooth, cooling cardamom, leathery saffron and a few drops of high quality rose water. It's delicious and quite addictive. And the best part, for me, is that it reminds me of my signature scent, Amouage Journey Woman. This lacks the fruitiness of Journey, and also some of its complexity (Bed of Roses is complex, just not as complex as Journey) - but they still have the same lovely, sensual, far away vibe. This fragrance is alcohol free, and I'm amazed how strong it is and how long it lasts on the skin. I can smell the fragrance clearly for 8-10 hours. And there is a soft, honeyed hint left on my skin even the next morning. I'm very impressed by the quality and the performance. On my wishlist it goes. :)

My sample came from Bloom Perfume. This is a very natural, lush, beautiful rose with the smoothness of Orris, silky, delicate, and slightly oriental. Perhaps because of the water base, all the notes seem to be fused together, so I didn't pick up the citrus and spicy notes separately in the top notes, but it did bring the brightness to the rose at the beginning. I think it is quality, just hope the concentration could be higher.

Absolutely gorgeous. Like a warm embrace, really. I brought it to the office and it was an instant hit. Rose is forward and center, flanked by spices and a little bit of fresh citrus that keep it from overpowering you. It lasts for at least 4 hours on me, applied to wrists and neck. One thing against it, I like to spray my clothes and hair, and with its texture that’s highly inadvisable.

It is a cheaper version of The Library Collection Opus VI Amouage with a hint of Opus IX. Smells fantastic and nearly the same just the longevity is shorter (Amouage lasts forever, Bed of Roses "just" one day). I would recommend to buy a sample first as the drydown does not remind the opening at all. I do not see civet on the list of ingredients but I definitely can smell it.

Beautiful rose that melts with the skin. It has some metallic, woody and some fruity notes that frame it in a very lively and sophisticated manner. A great perfume, very elegant and with a zing. Modern rose at its best. The longevity is astonishing. And incredible that the formula is completely water-based without alcohol! A must-try!

It's the best rose perfume I've ever used, and I don't have to say it again, it's a matter of course accepted by anyone who has tried it. Genius perfumer Antoine Lie can be trusted.

I agree completely with Pilikins below!!! Urine smell, meaning ammonia smell. Ammonia comes from the metabolism of bacteria. Maison Sybarite fragrances don’t have alcohol. Alcohol is antiseptic. Without alcohol bacteria can grow. So maybe the urine – ammonia smell comes from bacteria that grow in the fragrance......

Bed of Roses has always struck me as a very animalic, spicy and leathery rose. I’ve had my bottle for more than 5 years now and part of me wonders if its water‐based formula might have shifted over time, possibly even developed some kind of fungi growth because the scent profile feels a bit... off compared to what I remember. To my nose, it leans more masculine overall thanks to its woody and balsamic base. One thing to note: whenever I spray it directly on skin, it leaves a white, watery residue. It dries down eventually but it’s something to keep in mind, especially if you plan to spray it on clothing. Surprisingly, both projection and longevity are above average, which is not something I usually expect from a water‐based perfume.

Bed of Roses came out smelling a smidge animalic, musky and leathery – not only that, but it came out white! The first scent I’ve EVER used that came out white! It also felt like it was a little ‘separated’, as it came on in beads, and I needed to rub it into my skin. That aside, it was quite floral, resiney and woody, but for me the overbearing element to this was the animalic elements – just can’t look past them, unfortunately. I felt they were a little too strong and didn’t allow for the other features to shine. I don’t see myself taking this any further, sadly...

I think my sample was off because all I could smell was urine. Very sad. The liquid did not appear to be an alcohol but some water-based perfume- perhaps it is a natural fragrance. Anyway the whole thing was very odd.
