Cacao In The Sun

Don't trust any of the below reviews... this is powdery sure, but the rose balanced with vanilla and cacao is absolutely perfection. The powderyness and rose cuts through the sweetness, so then you'd think it's just a powdery floral sweet scent? Wrong... cacao comes through with a little bitterness and dryness balancing out the powdery sweet floral smell. Combine that with a very light and friendly strawberry that compliments the rose extremely well and you get a masterpiece fragrance. And if anyone seriously hates on this they don't understand what a masterpiece is and how important balance is. Does it smell good though? Yes, i've let many people try this and never came across anyone that didn't like it. Does lean feminine, but as a guy I wear this it's very comforting in colder weather and gets me compliments all the time girls love to hug me when I wear this stuff and tell me how good I smell all the time.

Delicious dark fruity, musky & light floral smell, not a realistic strawberry but it is reminiscent of red fruits and does smell fruity. I really dig this scent and this is great, i'm gonna buy this and girls are gonna fall in love with this scent because it's heavenly and sexy. Maybe strawberries & cream with a splash of rose in there, but not the old lady type of rose smell this is classy elegant rose blended perfectly with white florals to almost create a sparkling floral scent

This is really nice. I do get a strawberry chocolate vibe but it is not overly sweet. It lasts on my skin 3-4 hours. This is my third full bottle from this line. All cocao based but each is very different. These are fun scents and worth sampling. The cocao in this is fairly soft after the first hour. Makes it easy to wear and a pretty safe blind buy if you like gourmand.

I get rich milky chocolate, sweet/sour strawberry, a bit of spicy roses, and vanilla. I adore this scent! The only thing I struggle with is I forgot how I react to strong chocolate scents. One time I threw up after smelling a Girl Scout simoa cookie.

Haven't seen any reviews pointing out the similarities with Givenchy L'indedint absolu but that's probably the closest type of fragrance like this. However this is more feminine and softer, it's got more florals in this one.

I don't like fruity scents as a rule. Most of them smell kind of cheap to me..but, this one is truly lovely. Juicy, fruity blast in the opening...I smell blonde woods..as it dries down, the florals come forward a bit more. A bit more orange blossom..no Iris that I can detect. I don't smell any chocolate or vanilla, really. Just fruity floral with blonde woods. I'm sure the vanilla is there, but it's very well blended, so it's actually hard to pick out any note..It's SO pretty. The problem is, I'm still unsure if this should be worn by the mature woman. Definitely not for the over 45 crowd. It's full of youthful exuberance and strawberry lip gloss, first dates and summer lovin'...or your first overnighter away from the little ones with your hubby. It would seem incongruous to be covering up the grays and then spritzing this on. Just my opinion. It's like wearing skinny jeans over 50.. some women do it, but none of them should. So, unfortunately, I will pass.🫤 But, make no mistake, it's delicious, the drydown is pure loveliness and the performance isn't bad. I can't imagine a guy wearing this either.

Cacao In The Sun is an interesting one. A summery take on a chocolate scent which I would normally reserve for cooler weather. On initial spray the zesty lemon comes through strong but thankfully is short lived. The chocolate at this stage is slightly bitter. Once the lemon dissipates the blackcurrant and strawberry are allowed to soften and sweeten and it all becomes so silky smooth. As another reviewer mentioned, it does smell like strawberries dusted in cacao powder but I’d take this further with a sliced vanilla cake and a vase of flowers nearby. Leans slightly more female but I do like this one on my husband too.

Cacao In The Sun is a very unfitting name. This perfume has maybe 5% of a detectable cacao scent that disappears within the first 10 minutes of its drydown. It reminds me a lot of fresh laundry, with no particular fruitiness outside of that. A slightly punchy dryer sheet. It could easily just be my sense of smell, but I don’t get *anything* gourmand out of this. It still smells nice!

Testing my sample; this is a likeable fruity-floral, minimal chocolate but lots of orange flower, rose, vanilla, and musk are the strongest on my skin. There's something vaguely 'Good Girl' in the opening, but that one is considerably stronger in both longevity and projection. Perfect for warmer weather, you definitely need to reapply if you intend for this to last through the day.

This is such a cozy and comforting scent! It's sweet but not overpowering, with the chocolate and vanilla notes really standing out. I get a hint of fruitiness in the opening, which adds a nice touch of freshness. Perfect for chilly evenings or when you just need a little pick-me-up.

I only get the chocolate and vanilla notes here. Would have loved to see how they interacted with the strawberry and lemon but oh well. Still smells good but fades after an hour or so on my skin..

Sampling Maison Tahite Cacao in the Sun, and the name seems fitting, as it has a bit of a bright and fresh vibe, albeit with chocolate, perhaps a little chocolate. Cacao mixes with a medley of fruits (blackcurrant, lemon, raspberry), florals (rose, iris, orange blossom, lily of the valley), vanilla, and woods. It’s on par with the other cacao-named entries that I’ve tried, is the fruitiest of the bunch, while having a bit of a woody/floral vibe as well, but the rose is not prominent, with the floral character coming more from the iris and lily of the valley, in my estimation. I like it, though it leans a little feminine on my skin, despite being fairly pleasant and agreeable overall, with decent performance. Cacao in the Sun is priced at $120 for 100ml in EDP concentration, the same as the rest of the line, very reasonable for niche perfumery in today’s market. 6 out of 10

I'm incredibly disappointed after spraying this on my skin! One of the associates at the Ministry of Scent SF hand-picked this for me and I was totally enamored by it after spraying it on paper. I'm usually put off by chocolate scents because they often veer toward the tootsie-roll route, but I was sold. I was *this* close to pulling the trigger and blind buying it because it smelled just like dark chocolate, more specifically toasted cacao nibs. I ended up walking away with a tester, and I've been saving my vial to spritz on a colder day, which happened to be today. All I get are the top notes—a mix of nondescript sweet fruits, a little bit of spun sugar, and the slightest whiff of cacao. TBH, I'm not even sure if I can detect cacao at all and am gaslighting myself to believe there is.

A very "solar," sunscreenish, summer cocoa. The most prominent note for me is the lily, uplifted by a very bright lemon and fresh fruity raspberry. The chocolate and other floral notes are relegated to minor accents. Gets smoother and sweeter as it dries down, while the florals interestingly rotate through one another. Lily gives way to orange blossom in the mid, which eventually fades to allow the rose + iris combo to finish. Moderate projection for ~2hr, longevity 5-7hr.

I actually ordered this by mistake, having intended to order the Ristretto one of the line. It's nice but for the price IMO not worth it. It has a very cosy powdery scent, with a faint hint of chocolate strawberries. It reminds me of the smell of fresh laundry and makeup and cocoa butter, reminiscent of the smell of getting ready for a night out. Pretty but absolutely not worth the money, especially considering how poor the longevity and sillage is. Pass

I really want to love this niche house because for niche, they’re on the more affordable side. I have two now from them, and my complaint is the longevity. They just don’t perform the way I think niche fragrances should. Cacao in the Sun leans unisex, the cacao is minimal in this, but you’re left with a beautiful orange blossom (my nose gets a predominant whiff of that), musky, woody scent. It’s lovely, it just doesn’t perform that well

I used the sample vial up in a day. It is sweet and friendly but very faint. Re applied many times in the day and kept forgetting I was wearing anything. If you want a cocoa profile but you want it extremely light, maybe this is for you.

This smells very familiar. It's mostly a cheap clean scent, shampoo or something, with no noticeable cacao. Disappointing.

This is powdery and sweet in a way I don't personally enjoy. In addition to that powdery cocoa note, it has a subtle tropical fruitiness that read more to me like papaya than strawberry. This lasted a few hours on my skin with little evolution.

This smells like laundry. Neither expected nor appreciated that.

🥐🧼 MBTI: ESTJ with familial problems 🥐🧼 I usually buy frozen pre-made croissants with chocolate and bake them at home. One time, i carried one freshly baked, warm croissant to work and it was wrapped in a clean kitchen towel that was washed with a new soap i bought, which was agressively scented (i don't buy it anymore). 🥐🧼 At any rate, it resulted in a similar scent. It just doesn't work. I didn't eat the croissant. Aside from it not being chocolatey enough to match the name, the fresh and doughy aspects of this just try to murder each other during the wearing of this weak perfume. It's like 2 relatively decent things were mixed into something that just smells off, like slightly used baby wipes. Gives me a headache, on top of that.

i feel the need to say here that there’s a difference between “smells like” (as in, has olfactory similarities) and “reminds me of” (as in, gives me similar feelings). that said this does not “smell like” but absolutely reminds me of the moment i walk into a bathroom and realize that someone tried to spray sweet/fruity air freshener over bathroom odors. like, in the way that my brain is taking in two distinct and conflicting sets of smells and i’m having trouble computing.the sweet/fruity, the chocolate/vanilla, and the iris/powdery come across separately to me and as a result the fragrance experience here is just confusing and disjointed. 😩

I blind bought this one, cause I really wanted to believe it’s strawberries and cacao! Unfortunately, that’s far away from what my nose picks up. All I get is a very generic black currant and orange blossom, which is fine, but not what I’ve expected. I’m gonna pass this to my mom, cause I can’t return it. I’m not sure how it gets compared to Rolling in Love! Not in the same ballpark at all, no iris, no dustiness. Cacao in the Sun it’s juicy and summery, but so unoriginal and with an unfitting name.

I imagined this would smell like melting chocolate lollies, from the name, but no. It is strawberries in cocoa powder decorated with a little rose n creamy sandalwood. For about three pico seconds. Like others have mentioned, this has shortgevity, not longevity, & is brevity to the max, honestly one of the fastest disappearing scents I've come across. No-one else could detect it after half an hour either, unless I stuck my hand literally to their nose n even then "It's quite faint, what is it?"

Sampled this at lucky scent and like all the others I’ve tried from the line, they smell really great but don’t last. Gone within an hour. Seriously. No sillage whatsoever so I’ll never purchase one from this house which is a shame since the scents are good, especially this one.

I am so impressed by this whole line! This one is sweet and almost laundry detergent adjacent with sweet fruity notes and a chocolate depth. Cozy, Cuddly but wearable in any season

Mostly fruity, I don’t get any chocolate. Very basic fruity fragrance.
