Carnal Cacao

Let me start by saying that I absolutely do not like perfumes with edible nuts in the scent. Yes, then why buy a scent blind with chocolate as the main note....? I got interested in this fragrance because of a review I read. It was compared to Frederic Malle's Carnal Flower. The scent was described as a creamy tuberose and the chocolate was described as a creamy white chocolate note. I love creamy tuberose perfumes. So already own several. The sustainable way of working of this perfume house gave me the last push to blindly order the fragrance. The perfume starts with a sour and bitter pure chocolate note and with a green tuberose (more like the stem of the tuberose). It started with a disappointment. No creaminess to be found anywhere. Gradually the chocolate becomes a little creamier and the tuberose blossoms more and more. But I cannot describe it as a creamy perfume. Am I still disappointed? No definitely not. But a bit confused by my expectation. It really is a complex niche fragrance. The perfume is so beautifully blended. The tuberose is so natural and beautiful. And for the first time that a food note in a perfume doesn't bother me but, on the contrary, adds something. A high quality perfume.

Maison Tahite is the gourmand brand by default. All their collections are made around edible stuff mixed with a variety of flowers, resins, spices, ambers, herbs and aromatics. Carnal Cacao is built around the contrast between cacao and white flowers: sharp, bitter neroli and lush, green tuberose. Mandarin, pepper and ambroxan are mostly used as supporting notes to complement the main players. It’s a more subtle perfume that feels very feminine and fairly versatile. Certainly a safe office fragrance, with moderate longevity and minimal to moderate sillage, depending upon the number of sprays. Anyone who loves a well balanced tuberose/neroli scent with slight hints of spice, fruity sweetness and cacao powder will enjoy Carnal Cacao. I find it very airy, creamy, warm and straightforward. If you like the notes listed, you will love Carnal Cacao! If not, stay away, it’s the kind of perfume that reflects with a high accuracy the raw materials that been used in its production!! Good quality fragrances and for a niche brand, super affordable. Actually, I think their prices are lower than most of the designers ones are currently!! Rarely heard anything about Maison Tahite on social platforms.

This is my favourite scent. It smells like an enchanted tropical jungle. The cacao not is not smelling like chocolate but it gives the flower notes a depth that is hard to describe - almost a mossy depth - but I can smell it. I cannot stop wearing it. It is sweet (not at all sugary or nauseating), but lovely. I am somebody who hates to smell like "oh she is wearing perfume" - so this perfume creates a really colorful jungle aura. But it is clearly more of a feminine fragrance. I had to leave this review, because it is a really wonderful perfume. So 10/10. And btw it is totally different from the other cocoa scents of this brand - they all smell like different versions of chocolate or things you could eat.

From the notes I actually thought that I purchased Cacao Libertine, because its a warm, spicy, solar kind of smell. And I dont smell the tuberose and florals- theyve been mixed with cacao, and the warmer notes really well! To my nose this is perfection! Its like Ganymede without that metallic quality! Warm cacao with woodsy notes and ambroxan is what I smell the most. The silleage is decent and it lasts for 6-8hrs on my skin, so Im verry happy with this purchase. Its definately unisex, because the florals are not prominent. And I think this can be pulled off in the day, in the evening and all year round!

First few sprays from a new bottle - hmm, it's got a bit of a bug spray smell I get from certain perfumes but let's give it a chance. It's a strange blend of floral and cocoa. Next few days - the cocoa is definitely there. It's in the background from start to finish. It reminds me of palmers cocoa butter but powdery. It's a very light perfume and I have to over spray but I now find it totally intoxicating unlike any other perfume I own. There's something in it that leaves me in a bit of a stupor.

I like it. On paper is a clean floral with a dewy, watery feel. On skin it starts in the same way, but gets a beautiful soft cocoa drydown. The name is not quite fitting: tuberose and neroli feel very "clean" in this fragrance, both on paper and on my skin. Cocoa does add a mouth-watering feel, though. I don't really smell mandarin or pink pepper, but it's nice anyway. It's one of those fragrances you can use anywhere, anytime: it's not overly sweet (cocoa isn't really sweet, ambroxan neither), nor overly clean and soapy. Sillage and lasting power are quite restrained. Seems perfect for office, a day date, indoor activities. Definitively not the right scent for fishing compliments in a club, it would be undetectable in a room filled of sweaty and perfumed people.

Maison Tahite Carnal Cacao upon initial spray smells like a blend of cacao and sunscreen, with the latter aspect being more so exposed as a tuberose scent in the opening few minutes. The result is a sort of chocolately variant of Tom Ford Soleil Blanc, a bright floral sunscreen-like blend, albeit with chocolate. In that respect, I could see a lot of people liking Carnal Cacao, with it having significant versatility with respect to season and situation. I quite like it, even though it’s not in my very top choices of the house. Like the rest of the line, Carnal Cacao is priced very reasonably at $120 for 100ml in EDP concentration and is sold at Luckyscent, among other boutiques, and it performs quite well so far. 7 out of 10

Opens... kinda weird. A nondescript candy sweetness. But it quickly settles into a surprisingly light and friendly tuberose, one dipped in creamy milk chocolate with a light squeeze of fresh orange. I guess it's only named "carnal" to evoke Carnal Flower, which is also centered around tuberose, but there's nothing aggressive or animalic about it. Only the tuberose survives into the drydown, like a cocoa butter sunscreen. Moderate projection for 2-3hr, longevity 8-10hr.

A carefree, sweetly innocent Tuberose scent. I would not have guessed the support ingredients, but once I saw the list it was easy to imagine the scent, with a strong neroli and a bite of cacao. Very good performance, considering the manufacturers sample is the cheap plastic 1.2 mls that drips rather than spray (an annoyance). Would gladly wear this again.

Testing my sample; tuberose-neroli suncream that's animalic in a very earthy sort of way, given the slightest heft with cacao powder. Gets more powdery as it dries down on my skin, reminds me of Soleil Blanc. Can be worn all year-round, but I think this needs some heat.

Earthy tuberose with just that bit of sexiness. Leaning feminine. Earthy-floral-animalic-intoxicating-animatic again. Long-lasting. Available for less than €100.-. A winner, I want a full bottle.

From the perfume name, I was expecting more cocoa scent. But I was surprised that this is very white flowers heavy - with neroli and jasmine taking the lead. I can also detect: - traces of orange, which make it kind of a lighter scent - only traces of cocoa which give it a bit of different structure - traces of ambroxan which makes it too sweet and obnoxious here and there when it pokes out Overall a pass for me.

Candied tuberose. Opens with an ugly sweet hard candy odor. Tuberose is much more visible than cocoa in this perfume, it has been used in a very pungent and harsh way. Warm, very sweet, with a high projection.

man i hate tuberose and everything it touches. it just smells like the bad parts of my childhood just outdated and unpleasant, like an old mean lady

Rating: 😳😑 Do I like it: No, but the tuberose is nice Who it is: a beautiful, gentle young woman that keeps helping out her hoarder mom and lives in dirty house that is a health hazard against everybody's better judgement Smells I get: nice tuberose, sweat, piss, powdery cocoa Meyer's Briggs type: ENFP, INFP Starts as a sexy alcoholic cocoa drink, and then morphs into a stinky, sweaty tuberose. Overly acidic, pissy mandarin-neroli runing the tuberose flower, mixing it with sweat and piss. I'd less consider this sexy, and moreso consider this like someone trying to mask a hard day of physical work by putting Amouage Journey over YSL Black Opium. Doesn't project too much, so while the unpleasant part is present, it won't kill anyone. Not the worst thing I've smelled, but wouldn't call it sexy, let alone nice. It's more tolerable later on when the tuberose takes over the entire scent profile, as the tuberose they use is very nice - soft, sensual and sligtly powdery. The rest of the scent is kinda ugly, but at least the pretty tuberose stands out, like a beautiful woman against an ugly, derelict background.

به امید کاکائو دکانتش و خریدم دریغ😥😥😥😥😥 عطری از گلهای سفید بود و یه فسقلک حس اسپایسی کاکائو تو این یکی کارش دکوره ولی گویا تو اون کار Cacao2 کاکائو دیده بشه بد خورد تو ذوقم. بد .😥😥😥😥 کماکان دلچه پشن کاکایویی محبوب باقدرت میتازد اینم نشد ک بشه اما اگه گل سفید و باحس سیتروس بخواین کار خوبیه عطرش نه خنکه نه گرم چهارفصله نرولی و سیتروس بخش عمده عطر هست و حس خنک داره رنگ مایع داخلشم بیرنگ مثل آب هست. چون دکانت دارم میتونم رنگ مایع روهم شاهد باشم. واقعا حس خنکیش بیش از گرمای امبرو وانیله آخرای کار فقط تو درای داون امبرو وانیلم یه رخی نشون میدن متعادل و چهارفصله و من بخش نرولی سیتروس و پررنگتر میبینم درکل یه کار گلی و تکراری و بدون ویژگیهای خاص و منحصر بفرد ولی ب لحاظ کیفی کار قابل قبولی بود هرچند طراحی رایحه هیچ حرفی واسه گفتن نداشت

Really gorgeous and soft, but the drydown turns stale, dead flower-y, powdered-milky, and clenched up. Not nearly as cacao-forward as vicious. This might be nice on someone with different skin chemistry, but likely not a safe blind buy.

Peppery Marfa Memo amped up with ambroxan. The tuberose killed whatever Cacao they put in this scent. I came for the cacao and I can't smell any...

First spray - green notes, then ~1min later white flowers join and they are the main players here. Cacao is way in the background.
