Floranilla

Ooh, on opening I'm smelling... Dior Homme Intense with a healthy dose of added vanilla. Soft powdery, floral iris with a vanillic flair. Even has a touch of orange, which pushes it into Code Absolu Gold territory. But quickly revealing itself is a sweet, uplifting violet and bright, almondy heliotrope while the powderiness kinda thickens up to form a dense scent cloud. A fluffy purple floral bomb, with the balsamic-spicy undertone of myrrh. It's the sweet violet and warm myrrh that shine most as it dries down. Moderate initial projection fades over 2-3hr, catching faint whiffs through 4-5hr, longevity 6-8hr. As a self-professed iris s---, I'm a big fan. I usually hate violet too but it works for me here.

This is better than Dama Bianca....dont kill me But hear me out. Bianca would’ve been my darling had she one had any performance and was not destroyed by that kumquat note. I find the tangerine in Florvanille much more harmonious with the violet. I also get a lot of longevity..lasting thru the whole day. Plus I get a lot more of the vanillic sweetness here than with Bianca. Which is what I was hoping for. Better performance, harmonious blending, and a fraction of the price? Absolutely

One of my favorite samples ever. I’ve repurchased decants of this multiple times and always use every drop...I can’t remember why I haven’t bought a full size. (In my mind, I remembered it being more expensive than it is?) But the current price is in my range, so I’m about to buy a full-size. It’s floral-forward, but the vanilla keeps it feeling balanced and not grandma-ish. And then there’s a spicy note under everything else. It’s addictive. I love it so much.

The vanilla and violet are equals here. It’s a sweet and bright violet note, with vanilla to soften. I have Dama Bianca and to me this is sweeter, less powdery. It’s not the same strength of violet power as Insolence, although I love that too. I received this recently and I am keen to wear it throughout summer. I love it.

Sweet violet and vanilla with a spritz of citrusy tangerine. Lovely feminine powdery dry down. Before I tried my sample, I got a tiny bit on my finger from the cap and fell in love instantly. This is a beautiful floral vanilla fragrance. Definitely worth a full bottle.

This reminded me of the first doll my father bought me when I was 9 , she had a blond hair , and her hair comb came with it , all this plastic smell . Don't get me wrong I love the perfume, in a very strange way. But I love it.

Absolutely beautiful powdery vanilla. It is in the same family as Dama Bianca (not a dupe tho) but with a more creamy vanilla. I actually prefer this over Dama Bianca. It kinda smells like vintage makeup to me. I love it!! <3

This one has same vibe like Aqualina Pink sugar, but Frolanilla longevity is much better. Love it :))

This will probably become my signature scent. It's sweet, but in a wonderful way.

Smells like a baby doll I love it!

The vanilla here is quite interesting because it’s airy and boozy at the same time. It’s a very concentrated vanilla, almost a bit syrypy at times. I see that Dama bianca is listed as similar to this one, and while I don’t agree completely they do share the same vibe and some notes as well. They’re both fluffy and ethereal. Besides the enchanting vanilla, the violet and orris are beautifully blended here. It balances the vanilla from being too cloying. All in all - it’s a beautiful and sophisticated perfume, perfect for those breezy spring/summer days, but for the pricepoint I don’t think the longevity is fair. It sits close to the skin and is hard to detect after four hours or so. It does project quite good the first hour but then settles completely as a skin scent.

Floranilla has a familiar, unassuming vibe. It’s not exactly what I expected from the notes, but I like that it’s not. Heliotrope, orris and violet can often read as old fashioned & matronly, but this is quite the opposite. It’s very youthful, and VERY sweet- perhaps too much so? To me, it’s a mixture of the saccharine Montale Sweet Vanilla and Xerjoff’s Dama Bianca. It’s playful and tender, indeed like a scented toy. I smell *sugary* candied violet, vanilla-orange creamsicle, a dolly powder orris and just a hint of cherry-heliotrope. Overall I think it’s easy to wear and inviting, but might be too unsophisticated or even juvenile for some, so try before buying.

I was looking for a replacement for Lipstick On by Margiela and this is the closest scent I’ve found thus far. When you spray this on, those initial thirty seconds, you are hit with the most beautiful vanilla and violet mix. Probably one of the most pleasant openings of any perfume I’ve ever worn. Then a burning rubber smell, similar to Byredo’s Bibliotheque enters the chat but unlike Bibliotheque, the burning rubber smell dies off after about 15 minutes. After which,we return to the fabulous opening. Wears about 8 hours and does not have a big projection sadly. I give this scent an 8.5 out of 10.

Sweet, powdery, feminine purple floral scent. The vanilla is quite dominant and gives it quite a lot of sweetness; if you don’t like vanilla scents I would give this a pass. It’s complimented by lightly powdery, slightly almondy floral touches from the violet and heliotrope. The tangerine and vetiver are both in the mix to bring a little bit of fresh earthiness to stop it going into a full blown vanilla bomb, but they’re light. All in all it’s a bit too sweet for my taste but if you like the sound of the notes it could be a winner. Pretty good longevity and moderate sillage.

It's a very nice and pleasant vanilla. I've really only experienced vanilla in heavier fragrances, but this has a great "airiness" to it. The opening is fantastic with the florals and ever-so-slight citrus balancing out the vanilla. I hope this doesn't turn people off, but there is a little bit of a bubblegum vibe to it in my opinion. This would be lovely in the spring and early summer, and can even work as an office scent. As a guy, I think this is pretty wearable and may consider buying a bottle in the future, especially as a "cheaper" niche scent.

Pleasant but tame. I could imagine a doctor or teacher wearing this, its very inoffensive, the lack of base note oomph keeps it toned down. The powdery aspect is obvious but it seems to have a slight milkiness too and doesn't feel quite as old fashioned as many violet/heliotrope fragrances.

On initial spray there is a smokiness, which is not mentioned in the notes, but when it dries down it does smell similar(not same) to Dama Bianca. However, it's not a replacement for Dama Bianca, which is much prettier than this.

Milky purple flowers, with a little bit vetiver. Some cocoa and incense appear at dry down. It's nice but slightly too sweet.

Maison Tahite Floranilla is aptly named as a vanilla-meets-flowers featuring notes of heliotrope, iris, tangerine, myrrh, and vetiver. It starts out a bit sharp and floral but dries down to a cozier more vanilla-forward mix, definitely more in balance, but the opening is less welcoming, in my opinion, than that of most of the other fragrances in the house. Still, it’s quite nice when drying down, but it’s not the first vanilla I’d reach for, especially after I tried Vanilla yesterday, which I loved. Like the rest of the line, it’s priced at $120 for 100ml in EDP concentration, sold at Luckyscent and other boutiques. The pricing is very reasonable for indie/niche, and the fragrance performs quite well. 6 out of 10

Smoky/woody and masculine on the wrists, sweet and powdery on the neck, and not much of the tangerine came through. Originally bought this because it smelled very strongly like Dr. Pepper/cola in the shop, but it absolutely did not smell as such at home. Pretty wild pivot! This perfume confused me enough to convince me to make an account and leave a review, but I wouldn't say I had a bad experience with it??? EDIT: It returned to the original Dr. Pepper scent on the second spray! Way too sweet on the dry down though so I swapped with a friend who's more into sweet scents. They love it!

Floranilla is very powdery. More powder than vanilla. Dry baby wipes. Remind me of Dama Bianca in the opening only, for like 10 seconds, then it gets balsamic and in the end it turns super powdery.

This is just okay in my opinion. As a huge fan of Dama Bianca, this is barely a comparison. Violet prominent and no sweetness. On my skin it unfortunately gives me insect spray vibes.

While this is in many ways similar to Dama Bianca, it’s different in that it has a much more prominent candy violet note that I can’t get on with. Whereas Dama is a powdery, fluffy floral vanilla, this floral vanilla comes off very sharply sweet to me because of the prominent violet. If you know you love Dama Bianca, and you love violet, you’ll probably love this one. I unfortunately just can’t take that note, and it’s the same reason I didn’t care for French Kiss from Guerlain. Bummer.

Unfortunately I found this one quite boring. Generic florals, like you'd smell in a cheap lotion hand soap, over their vanilla which on its own is quite decent. Much softer than the others in this line; I found I really needed to stick my nose in it to smell it.

There is absolutely nothing about this that I find enjoyable. I received this as a sample with an order and I wish they would’ve just kept it, tbh. There is no vanilla on my skin, just screeching white florals.

This fragrance smells a bit different each time I try it but I've never liked it. It's a sweet, warm violet scent, but sometimes it has a synthetic plasticky overtone and other times it seems really spicy.

The opening of this perfume was to me very sharp, grating and unpleasant, and a little sickly, and very much reminded me of the opening of Celeste by Giardini di Toscana, perfume which almost made me physically sick. It must be the violet-citrus combination, although Floranella does not have the salt-sea-water note that makes the opening of Celeste extremely nauseating for me. I think I'm one of the rare people who reacts to this note combination on this way, but just know : if Celeste makes you feel ill, the opening of this one will, too. HOWEVER : I smelled my arm (where I had sprayed this liberally) seven hours later, and I was delighted to discover : - the fantastic longevity of this perfume, and ; - one of the most delicious dry-downs I've ever smelled : a bright, fresh and airy powdered vanilla, evoking shimmering pink-purple fairy dust that you imagine as a child, with a bit of that delicious plastic doll's head heaven that you get from JHAG's Mmmm, but brighter, fluffier, with a dash of tic-tac, an absolute delight. For me the comparison with Dama Bianca and Junoon Noir is much weaker than with Celeste. And the dry-down is its own. If the opening didn't do what it does to me, I would have bought it.

I was quite surprised to open this and smell violet because it wasn’t on my mind when I first ordered this. My initial reaction was that it resembled Lolita Lempicka—not at all what I expected. Then there was a very brief styrax moment that disappeared almost as soon as I noticed it. Then came a rich, dark vanilla. As it progresses it reminds me again of Lolita Lempicka but with less violet and a lot more vanilla. This is not a bad thing since LL wears very violet-forward on me. LL is not a cuddly fragrance, but Floranilla is. LL also has some patchouli in the base. In Floranilla the violet and vanilla are nicely balanced with other notes dancing in and out. A note about the styrax. Depending on your usual taste in vanillas you may not be familiar with it, but it is an important constituent in smoky vanilla architectures. It is the very polarizing note in the opening of YSL Babycat (very slightly less so in the dupe Rifaqaat.) To some people it smells like bandages. It is a bit of a surprise in Floranilla, but it is a quality indicator to me. It is an old ingredient, a traditional fixative, natural, and makes for very good vanilla.

Very nice, floral, powdery vanilla and myrrh scent. I agree with comparisons to Dama Bianca, but this scent is richer, it has more powdery notes, the myrrh is very intense in the base, it feels somewhat airy and clean despite of the richness. It also has a similarity with good old L'Instant Magic from Guerlain. Lovely scent. I am on the fence about buying a full bottle, just because I have Dama Bianca and L'instant (original and magic versions) I am not sure I really need this...but I want it...

This is such a lovely, powdery, violet perfume. Junoon Noir is similar but harsh. Dama Bianca is in the same vein but this one lacks that Gentle Fluidity Gold note that Dama Bianca has that I hate. If you have Julianna's Beautiful Bella, this is closer to that. I really love it. It smells just like this little jar of solid French perfume that I had as a child. It it subtle and doesn't last forever. But it is such a nice experience while it does.

Extremely heady vanilla and floral that has a strong myrrh base which gives it an exotic spicy profile. Been trialling this for about 3 months and thought initially it was only for winter but now I find it's not bad in summer either if you want to feel like you're on holiday in south east asia. Reminiscent of clove cigarettes. Considering buying a full bottle or at least a large decant.

This to me is like a more violetty version of putain du palace. I definitely get cumin which gives the distinctive human (ie. slightly sweaty) smell, which warms everything without spoiling the show. I love this a bit more than PDP because of the vanilla and violet. It is just delicious! A bit more sillage than PDP so perhaps not safe for work.

Too much vanilla and too little iris and violet. It’s kind of like, what’s the point? Why put all these other notes in it if you’re just going to super overdose us with vanilla? My dabber, I got quite a bit of violet with it but when I put it through an atomizer it was just ALL vanilla.

I was least excited for this one, but turns out it is really nice. It’s mainly violet, but possibly the best violet I have ever smelled! It’s a sweet violet, and although it isn’t listed in the notes, I get raspberry. I really enjoy this one!

If anyone has a mom or grandma that use to use the Guerlain powder ball makeup in the early 2000s this smells exactly like that. I have always loved the smell so I was thrilled with this scent.

this smells like the original Lolita Lempicka and once you realize this, it’s all you’ll ever smell. it’s pleasant but a literal carbon copy.

This is how Princess Lolly from Candyland would smell.🍭 Very pretty but personally not my style.
