Edit (after a full bottle): I have to say this is my Ultimate Vanilla fragrance! "Game over" guys! :D (Ofcourse no!) But sill. Sugary, yummyness! Compared to Vanilla28, if they say that one is a "bakeing vanilla sugar" than they are lieing becouse this is the purest bakeing vanilla ever!!! In my sample I didn't get the vanilla flower but in my bottle I can smell it for a few minits, but it's realy not bad compared to Vanille de Tahiti which was a big no for me! Actualy I compared my sample with my bottle juice and I think my bottle is stronger than my sample. (Maybe there is realy a thing about plastic decants wont do for long terms! So don't expect your sample to stay the same if they are in a plastic container! There is a chemical reason for this!) But returning the sillage: yesterday I was wearing it and my friend husband come down on the stairs and I wasn't even in the hall and he already could smell vanilla fragrance in the air. :D. And he asked "what did you bring? It's smells delicious!" And about longevity: I applied it around 8:00, and the compliment was around 14:00. And he judt smelled my sent trail. :D Can we say this fragrance is eternal? Becouse I don't want to say "beastmode" becouse it doesn't fitt to a kinde vanilla fragrance, I think. :) ----‐------------------------- I receved a sample of this fragrance and it's a realy good vanilla fragrance!!! It's on my wish list now becouse it has that real sugary vanilla flavor deep down in the fragrance base! Lovely!!! Besides the vanilla, It has a side note that I can't describe it well, maybe it's the benzoin (but I don't know becouse I never smelled the raw material), or a slightly soft feminin ambery side note. I need to test it a little more to describe it better. I will update it. :) But I'm sure I love it!

OMG this smells delicious! It smells like freshly cooked candied pecans, aka, pralines. Most praline recipes have a significant amount of vanilla in them, and I love them, so the scent makes sense to me. It doesn’t smell much like vanilla but I don’t care!! The praline scent comes through right at the beginning along with vanilla. At first the two scents dance around each other, then they settle down together and it smells delicious. This doesn’t smell so much like cake or candy as the smell of actually making candy. I like sweet scents, but I’m not a serious gourmand lover. I really dislike most cake, cookie, or batter scents, because they smell both fake and juvenile. So this was not at all what I was looking for, but I love it. Notably, it does not smell cheap to me. There is a very synthetic sweet (and eventually slightly bitter or acrid) smell that emerges for me in most vanilla food scents, and Vanilla2 does not have it. I kept expecting it to turn that way, but it didn’t. That could be what the benzoin is doing. Benzoin can have a slightly vanilla character, although it isn’t usually used that way. The benzoin at the base of the scent does not show up right away and it is subtle. That may be the unexpected scent that throws some reviewers off. The benzoin makes the scent feel wearable, as opposed to something I just want my environment to smell like. That hint of resin makes want to try layering it with something resinous or woody. I’ll edit after I try that out.

To my nose this smells like white chocolate or like Oreo cookies - in fact one of my favourite (Vanille West Indies being my #1)! In the initial spray I get a not so pleasant plastic strawberry doll head scent however the magic really happens in the dry down - your scent bubble is just smooth, warm, soft white chocolate. This is a fragrance that I would recommend to test on your body vs a tester strip. You have to experience this fragrance to truly see its yumminess. Its projection and sillage is warm and soft but most definitely recognizable; like a warm hug. Lasts on my skin for 4-5 hours. In the dry down it’s in the same wheelhouse as Mazzolari Vaniglia, VWI, Choco Musk, Outremer Vanille and Solinotes Vanille. I own so many vanilla fragrances and decided to purchase this one because I really enjoy this scent profile and it works well on my skin. Definitely test before buying since it is not a safe blind buy due to the plastic strawberry scent in the initial blast.

As indicated by the name, a fairly pure vanilla scent. Warm and ambery with an almost smoky sort of undertone from the resinous benzoin and slightly nutty, brown sugared praline. Very reminiscent of Grand Soir but less dense. Not as creamy as GS, though more creamy than one might expect by the presence of "powdery notes." Moderately strong projection for 4-5hr, longevity 10-12hr. The benzoin here doesn't go sour on my skin like it does in Grand Soir and many other fragrances with it. This might be my favorite "pure" vanilla. While I'm not sure I'm ready to give up my Royal Crown Sultan with its little smoky and spicy accents, I'm tempted to trade it in and pocket the cash difference nonetheless. Despite the incredible price difference with most of them, Vanilla2 competes with all the other vanilla heavy hitters on the market. I'll take this one over Tihota, Vanille Reve, Vanille West Indies, and anything else you put it up against.

Maison Tahite Vanilla2 (stylized as Vanilla squared, with 2 as a superscript) is a rich vanilla that incorporates sugary sweet aspects (a note of praline), resins (benzoin, namely), and a floral/powdery side. Despite the name, it does not smell classically vanilla-centric, but rather more of a vanilla/benzoin blend with powdery touches on the side. It’s sweet, a bit sugary/syrupy, and is inviting, rather than overwhelming, though it is quite opulent and dense, at least to me. It reminds me mostly, off the top of my head, of Kyse Perfumes Bonbons a la Vanille. It’s easily my favorite of the vanilla-named fragrances from this house, right up there with Coffee Bomb and Vicious Cacao, my other two favorites of the house so far. Like the rest of the line, Vanilla2 is priced at $120 for 100ml in EDP concentration, sold by Luckyscent (where I bought my sample sets) and other boutiques, and this fragrance performs very well. 8 out of 10

A big "yes" to this fragrance! I'm surprised it doesn't have a better rating. This must be one of my favorite vanilla scents. It's also my top favorite perfume from this brand (Vanexstasy, Vicious Cacao and Sel-Vanille are among my top ones). How does it smell? It's obviously a predominantly vanilla scent but with edible, gourmand, powdery, a bit spicy facets. It is not cloying and overly sweet or juvenile. Feels cozy but not suffocating or too heavy. Just a tiny hint of smokiness. It's unique enough, not to remind me of anything I've smelled before. It could be a distant cousin of Narciso Rodriguez Poudree, but with more vanilla and resin. It would probably be best for fall and winter, but I enjoy it in summer and spring as well. Unisex. Leans a bit feminine, but a man could pull it off as well. Love it! A must try for vanilla fans.

I've always loved vanilla fragrances but never found one that I truly loved. Except Vanilla 28 but the performance is so poor. So I've been searching for my absolute favorite must-have vanillas. This is definitely one of them. Although, it doesn't beat Fire at Will or Tihota. On my skin, I get a pure vanilla extract with a little powder and praline. And in the dry down there's a hint of burnt sugar. It's sweet and dense but there's an airiness quality to it. And I absolutely love that in a vanilla fragrance. It's beautiful. And it'll always be full bottle worthy for me!

Purchased a full bottle after sampling with two other vanilla fragrances - Escapade Gourmande and Divine Vanille. I love the sweetness and purity of Vanilla2. To me, this is the powdered sugar version of a vanilla dominant scent as compared to Escapade Gourmande, which I find to be the granular sugar version. I love them both but liked this price point better. My only issue is I am falling anosmic to it early on, probably because I couldn't help but overspray! I do not get anything funky in this scent. It is pretty in its simplicity. Very happy with my purchase.

Words cannot describe how gorgeous this perfume is!! It smells like a sweet blend of vanilla and powdery notes, absolutely divine. I’ve worn this almost every time I’ve gone out, and it has never failed to garner me a bunch of compliments. Definitely a crowd pleaser, but not at all basic. On top of the amazing smell, this has lasted on my skin 8+ hours and a day or even two on my clothes. Although it’s an amazing scent, I’d advise only wearing this as an evening scent because of how not subtle it is. It remains one of my favorite perfumes from my collection <3

Finally! Finally, I found a true vanilla fragrance. I’ve tried so many & so many have disappointed due to the fragrance not being enough vanilla for me or they were so weak right from the beginning they weren’t worth buying a full bottle. Example Kayali Vanilla 28. Smells great but only for a few seconds and then it fades to almost nothing. I enjoy Vanilla 2 very much and it stays strong on me so I’m pleased after a long search for a pure vanilla fragrance.

I agree with the review below... it doesn’t smell like vanilla extract to me. But my daughter has been loving this vanilla cotton candy that we found at the store. And this fragrance smells just like it! It definitely has a youthful vibe to it coming from the airy cotton candy scent I get from it. But the vanilla keeps it from being too youthful for me. I get just a hint of powder but it’s like a powdered sugar type of powder. I love this one.

This opens with such a softly sweet powder note that I was instantly reminded of playing with dolls as a child. It then calms down to sweet vanilla, which is absolutely beautiful. I am such a fan. I’ve only just received this recently and will get acquainted with it, but I am buzzing to own this.

I love this so much! I'm picky about vanilla. I don't like plastic, overly fakely sweet, or mixed with too much tonka. It has to smell real, and Vanilla2 certainly does. It only lasts for about three hours on me, but it's still worth it! Lightly sweet, subtly balsamic, yummy vanilla.

I don't really get the synthetic smell mentioned in a lot of reviews. This is one of the more realistic vanillas i've smelled so far! The yummy praline and sugar notes really make Vanilla2 extra delicious to me. Love this one!

Smells like a sweet, rich vanilla to my nose. It also regularly gives me compliments. Some people told me that I smelled like cookies/cake. I personally don't smell that but Vanilla2 is deeply comforting to me.

Simple, pretty vanilla, they can get redundant. However I’d choose this over something like Jeroboam Insulo, this feels less synthetic

The scent notes are very accurate. Vanilla2 smells like vanilla and resin (benzoin) mainly to me. I'm not sure where I would wear this, I'm not a vintage, brown-wearing, or library type of gal. Overall 7/10, I have been smelling it a lot more than I smell my other decants. It is very pleasant, but does not match my personality or outfit in most situations. This doesn't smell plastic or chemical-like on my skin, as some other reviews have stated. Vanilla2 reminds me of what R (Я) by Toskovat' could have been if it was not from a niche or unusual fragrance house. This smells like what I hoped from that.

Nice, sweet, basic vanilla that lasts a while. It’s not bad! I don’t get any powdery notes in this. The vanilla and benzoin is maintained throughout and then praline is introduced, very creamy and delicious. The balsamic quality of benzoin makes it smell like a vanilla moisturizing chapstick. That sums up this fragrance for me. More affordable than Mazzolari’s Vaniglia with good performance too, although the caramel in Vaniglia is just deeper than the praline here. Regardless very similar and great projection the longer you wear.

I really like this, it is fluffy vanilla ice cream with some powdery nuances. This is not a dense fragrance to me, quite airy actually, smells great. This, vanille west Indies and Vanille absolu, smell so similar. You do not need all 3 unless you want to collect vanilla frag. I blind bought 2 (VWI & Vanilla2) so now have 3 bottles of the same juice. Edit(Dec 2023) I cannot stand this scent in winter, the powdery note is so amplified to the point I cannot smell any other note. Will keep just for spring & summer

Smells like vanilla-scented makeup due to the powdery notes, so if you're going for powdery makeup scents, this will work well. There's a little bit of that praline/benzoin in the background that reveals itself more the longer you wear it, so give it some time to warm up and get deeper & sweeter with wear. Personally, this isn't my kind of vanilla, but I'll give it credit for lasting a while on clothes. Longevity and projection are great.

Ehh this is alright. I’ve tried Montale Vanille Absolu, Jovoy Fire At Will, and Ligne St Barth Vanilla West Indies. Vanilla2 smells closest to Vanilla West Indies but there is something about this I can only describe as tangy. It reminds me of the smell of dried spit - not sure if there is a better descriptor for that than tangy 😂 Anyways Vanilla West Indies and Fire At Will are both far superior for this genre in my opinion.

Vanilla and praline, yummmmm. It’s warm and slightly spicy which is the type of vanilla I like - vanilla forward scents can come off alcohol-y to me but this one only does for the first second I smell it. I feel like it gets richer as it warms up on your skin. Very cozy and soft, warm and a little powdery.

Sweet Tahitian vanilla. Not the strength of Montale nor the beauty of Indult, but a reasonable intensity, very wearable offering.

This smells like vanilla extract out of the bottle. Once it dries down it has a bit of a sour skin scent to it (in a good way)

Sweet vanilla and dolls head. The powderyness is pleasant. Less musky vanilla than Mazzolari Vaniglia.

This is (kind of) what I’ve been searching for. Recently, I’ve tried several niche vanilla fragrances (Bianco Latte, Delizia De Marshmallow, Escapade Gourmand, Indult Tihota) but each left me underwhelmed. My nose just doesn’t agree with the antique vanilla note found in many niche fragrances. It often comes across as screechy and tire rubbery to my nose and on my skin. Vanilla2 is a refreshing departure and a contemporary take on vanilla. It’s sweet, but not too sweet, with a plasticky, powdery quality reminiscent of a baby doll’s head. The fragrance isn’t a strong projector, it sits close to the skin which I love. While it may not appeal to everyone, and sure, its smells a bit ‘cheap’, that’s exactly what I was after. Vanilla2 is straightforward and simplistic. For those who enjoy the more refined and mature vanilla notes in the fragrances I mentioned previously, this probably won’t be your thing. I think I will hold off on purchasing a FB until I try some more affordable options. I’m not entirely convinced that this is worth $120, and I think I’d prefer something that’s a touch more powdery.

Not a big fan of this one. It took about 40 minutes for it to really dry down. The opening was somehwat sour like plastic? Very unpleasant for the first 20 minutes. Once it dried down, it smelled like a barbie doll dipped in vanilla. I got brief whiffs of frosting but it wasn't tooth-rottingly sweet as I wanted it to be. This is NOT blind buy safe. PLEASE get a sample. I understand why some folks can compare this to Montale's Vanille Absolut, but they're nowhere near the same, Vanille Absolut has more depth with the cloves & cinnamon & the vanilla is better quality.

I received a sample of this fragrance. The second I sprayed it, Montale's Sweet Vanilla came to mind. I have a sample of Sweet Vanilla, so I sprayed Vanilla2 on one wrist and Sweet Vanilla on the other. They are 95% similar, Vanilla2 is just a tad bit powdery, and they both lasted about the same (6 hours-ish). Overall, if you like Sweet Vanilla, just go with that one since you can find it at discount sites for much less. I am not a fan of the toothache sweet vanillas, but they are lovely scents, and great for layering.

This one is not bad, but it went straight into baby-lotion territory on my skin. Soft, sweet, a little plasticky... just not for me at all - Quiet, harmless, and absolutely scrub-worthy. I can tell, for anyone loving 'clean girl' vibes, that this could really be a winner though, so definitely worth a sample if that is your thing.

Well this is not the typical girly, bubbly sweet vanilla that’s for sure! This smells like vanilla extract or essence with some boozy-ness from the benzoin, that makes it surprisingly long lasting. I’m a bit sad because it’s too thick and heavy for my liking, but potentially could be a very nice fragrance for colder weather.

This smells like vanilla circus peanuts. Very powdery, and synthetic (which I usually don’t minds since am not that picky). This however isn’t my favorite. 6.5/10. I’m going to revisit it in the future and maybe the vanilla in this has matured while sits but so far not what I was expecting.

So glad I only got a sample of this. Actually I got two samples to qualify for free shipping. Wish I had gotten anything else. This is the worst vanilla I have ever tried. Nothing like vanilla extract. Smells like the inside of a Pillsbury can of biscuits. It also smells like when I had a newborn and he would spit up my breast milk on the burpy pads. Baby vomit. Yes, this is what it smells like. No, I do not want to smell like that.

Tried Sel_Vanille, Vanilla2, and Vanexstasy at the same time Vannilla2 --To my nose it doesnt smell like vanilla extract in anyway. It smells very strongly of "sweet". Like child pretend-makeup or scented dolls/markers/pencils. It's not vanilla-y. It's cotton-candy. Not creamy or buttery. Just sugary.

There's something leathery? in here that I don't enjoy. Smells like leather and saffron even though those notes are not mentioned. I'm more of a gourmand, pastry, sweet, bakery type of vanilla so this was a definite NO for me. Too spicy and leathery for my liking.

I’m not a fan of this one, the vanilla comes across very synthetic and plastic on my skin at first and then as it dries down it gets slightly better but there’s an odd animalic note. Longevity was pretty good, about 7 hours with moderate projection.

The notes sound like it’s the BEST vanilla until I put my nose on it. Like @catnipple described, this is truely a synthetic sweet mess.

It is a sweet and thick lactonic balsamic vanilla accord that stays linear and has decent projection.

Seeing the notes I thought I would fall in love with this scent, except for the fact that it doesn’t smell like the notes at all. Powdery, artificial almost vanilla that barely projects an inch off my skin. It’s sweet but if you asked me what it smelled like the notes listed here would be far from the first. I’m not trying to hate this either, I dipped and slathered my LuckyScent sample of this over and over on my skin and NOTHING. This is NOT a safe blind buy.

Awful! It smells like sweet, artificial vanilla scented play-dough! From first spray to dry down it stays the same. I kept it on for a few hours hoping it would morph into something reasonably better smelling, but it didn’t! I couldn't wait to wash it off!

Very very balsamic, spicy, and amber-y. To me, the vanilla is overpowered by the balsamic notes. I also smell a smokiness.

This reminds me quite a bit of Fire at Will since that one has mimosa and mimosa is notorious for being powdery and this one has 'powdery' notes. I think if you like that cocoa powder style of chocolate fragrance, you might like this because it gives that same texture, but instead of it being cocoa powder it's vanilla powder. If you like Fire at Will but don't want to spend whatever it costs, give this a go. It's a perfect "dupe" of it; however, Maison Tahite is not a "dupe" company, they're just fairly priced for a company that makes gourmands ie uses mostly synthetics. I find this to be light, fluffy, vanilla powder. The praline note is there just to sweeten, as I don't specifically smell praline, nor do I get amber, resinous qualities at all. I actually really like benzoin and resins but I feel like this has more of a fluffy, airy quality,

If you are looking for sugary vanilla scent then this is for you!! This reminds me of vanilla icing so it is very sweet! Very similar to Vanille outremer. I can imagine this being incredible to use for layering. The longevity is good and it does leave a lovely scent bubble. Edit: I find myself reaching for this when I want a boost! reminds me of happy childhood memories.

To me, this smells exactly like vanilla sugar. so not overly sweet, a little dark, with just the slightest woody undertone. Now, two hours after spraying, the woodiness is coming through a bit more! I'm very much considering buying a bottle, as I keep getting whiffs of it and it's a very comforting scent to my nose.

I really love vanilla and mostly wear vanilla fragrances. To me this has an unpleasant and rather cheap plastic note, and I find it rather unremarkable. I guess it's trying to be like Indult or something similar, but it smells far less natural. I would not buy a bottle - it doesn't really smell like the price.

If you're looking for a very artificial smelling vanilla, you'll probably like this. If you like that plasticky barbie doll smell you're in luck. This smells like an object was made to be vanilla scented. If ultra synthetic and weird-sweet smell is your jam try this out. Not for me.

Smells like vanilla essence . But there’s a strange underlining twang that kinda puts me off no idea what it is maybe something floral. Quite a few woman’s perfume has it. Without it it would be perfect. Still really pretty though. Also I don’t get any powder at all.

This is awful. It has a pungent undertone, almost like pee. I tend to love vanilla scents and looked forward to this one based on the reviews, but this is absolutely terrible. I gave my sample a couple of chances, but it got worse each time I tried it. Yuck.
