Vanillade

Maison Tahité Vanillade opens with a soft burst of citrus that lifts the fragrance and keeps the vanilla feeling fresh rather than heavy. As it dries down, the citrus quietly fades and the scent becomes beautifully creamy, warm, and just a bit woody, revealing the true heart of the fragrance. It reminds me of a silky homemade vanilla pudding—rich with real vanilla bean, smooth, comforting and impossible not to crave. Vanillade actually does remind me of Angel, kind of a lot. However, I wholeheartedly dislike Angel but love Vanillade... The patchouli-sharpness that Angel has is absent here, and Angel's brash sweetness is replaced by pure vanilla bean. The result is smoother and sweeter in a luscious way. Longevity is great and price point is reasonable. The Maison Tahite may not produce the most original scents, but their vanillas are pretty and worth a sniff!

Vanilla ice cream anyone? Damn this smells good! Leans a bit feminine but can be worn by men also. And sillage is just enormous! Only need a small bottle of this because 1 spray is enough for me. The almond becomes more prominent as it dries. Still a great gourmand! Can be cloying with too much spray though so be careful

Gorgeous citrusy vanilla with a solid patchouli note. I love this. It does smell reminiscent to angel, but this is a much more toned down version. I’m not a huge Angel fan but I LOVE this. Definitely give it a try if you’re curious.

Maison Tahite Vanillade is a vanilla with powdery, fruity, and floral touches, slightly gourmand, with main notes of benzoin, patchouli, musks, citruses, and flowers. It manages to balance out sharpness with sweetness effectively to the point of not being overwhelming in either respect while still being strong in both respects. I quite like it, and it’s likely my second-favorite vanilla fragrance in the house after Vanilla2, and is not quite l like anything I own. It’s a little boozy in its sharpness, vaguely reminiscent of Tauerville Vanilla Flash, in that respect, but that’s as far as the comparison goes, I’d say, but I’m sure there are other vanillas to which this may compare. Vanillade, like the rest of the line, is priced at $120 for 100ml in EDP concentration and is sold by Luckyscent and some other boutiques. It is among the strongest-performing fragrances in the line, also, making it an especially good bargain against what I regard as very reasonable indie/niche pricing in the current market. 7 out of 10

Ooh we've got some high quality vanilla being used here. This is real deal, stick your nose into a jar of vanilla bean paste, kind of stuff. It's not just a sweet, cupcake vanilla, though that aspect of it does resemble a good gelato. The patch is quite heavy on me and makes the scent as a whole feel firmly unisex; this could be a great gourmand for a guy. I have to admit, I'm not getting a whole lot of citrus or coconut, and I think "graceful" and "elegant" are far too light of descriptions for this frag. Vanillade is rich and can almost remind me of a cigar. With even just a small dab from my sample vial, I get really strong projection for a vanilla. Feels appropriate for cold weather and I think would be great to wear out to eat somewhere with a lot of wafting food smells. I'm not sure this suits me enough to purchase a larger quantity, but I definitely look forward to trying more from this house. Prices seem fair for quality.

I blind brought this one during lockdown. The notes sounded comforting. It sits somewhere between undeniable gourmands like Xerjorff Italica and a perfumed lotion or suntan oil. I wore angel back in the late 90s early 2000s and I wore it for attention. Though this one has some aspects in common with OG Angel, mainly as a semi -gourmand and patchouli base it is so comfortable and less obnoxious. It’s unique because of the vanilla in the mid and the dry. Stays creamy throughout. I think it more closely in common with the vibe of discontinued YSL Cinema.

I received a sample set from Maison Tahite. sprayed this one on a test strip and couldn't get enough. I used it on my skin the first opportunity I got. Initially, I got the same sweet, vanilla fragrance that I got on the test strip. I was so excited that I immediately put it in my cart to buy. Fast forward to an hour later - all traces are gone from my skin and only a faint trace of vanilla lingered on my clothing. So disappointing. I was ready to purchase this. I also liked the Floranilla. I hope it lasts longer.

Sweet vanilla-almond-coconut perfume. I quite like the opening but for me it goes a bit too powdery and cloying. I think it’s just a personal taste thing because I could see how some people would like it, but for me it’s a bit too heavy.

Animalic (this didn't come out initially, only after 30+ minutes on skin), interesting vanilla. Maybe like a more expensive Pink Sugar and a more enjoyable Elisire Desire. I definitely agree with the Grand Soir comparisons too.

Reminds me of a softer and less sickeningly sweet Italica by Xerjoff. Simpler too. I only have a sample but I can tell it’s got less projection and longevity but still a nice scent!

Opens like a freshly opened can of fizzy vanilla-cola, with a twist of lemon/ citrus. Yummy, refreshing and fun. that lovely fiz feeling stays for about 20-30 mins. After that the vanilla and citrus turns creamy and quite decadent , which for sweet/gourmand lovers is delightful for about 4 hours (on my skin), when unfortunately patchouli starts to stands out. I got serious ‘grandma’ old perfume smell at this stage which lasted about 2 hours , finally now 6 hours in from spraying it’s settled to a creamy and sweet vanilla. I like at the end and the start , but the middle really had me wishing I wasn’t wearing it. :( I’ll try it again and update if I get a different experience. But if not , not FBW for me, sadly.

Creamy almond-coconut-vanilla thing with a lot of patchouli and resinous undertones. Like someone mixed almond butter, sunscreen, and patchouli oil. This is no summer fragrance, it's thick and extremely sweet. If the citruses were noticeable maybe they would've brought a more fresh balance to the scent, but the patchouli is a little too strong and pungent for my tastes. I was kinda hoping for vanilla-lemonade. Moderate projection for ~3hr, pulling back into a faint scent cloud for 6hr+, longevity 12hr+.

It’s not what I’ve expected. I thought it would be cute vanilla fragrance, but this is thick, balmy vanilla with a lot of benzoin. Reminds me more feminine version of MFK Grand Soir. Also very similar to Floraïku Sound of Ricochet. Very linear and little bit mature, pass for me 🤷♀️

I received a sample of this. In the opening, it leans more masculine. The citrus note doesn't last very long, maybe only 5 minutes. It dries down to a vanilla scent; a lovely vanilla, but very basic. A get a whiff of patchouli, but not much. A polite pass for me.

It reminded me of a vanilla calcium chew. Chalky, artificial vanilla that lasts all day long. Once I got that into my head, it was impossible to get it out.

Without ever having looked at the notes, a description or reviews of the perfume, my review from an official sample: Weird opening, Angel-like "berries?" Smells like the pool locker room. Almost a chlorine scent, not quite. Heliotrope? a weird note - a very flat, play-doh scent, kind of like clay or paint, reminds me of the note in Flesh by Pekji that is supposed to be of flesh or paint. (Yuck.) It doesn't appeal. (This goes on for far too long and constitutes the core of the perfume. It is the perfume in the main.) I don't like it. The weird note also reminds me of the "papyrus" note in Jessica Simpson Fancy Nights or in a Xerjoff I smelled about 9 years ago. Can't remember which perfume the Xerjoff was. All together: no thank you. Not really any vanilla or even a vanilla-esque smell is present, as the name would indicate.

Don't care for it. Crazy strong almond blossom note, it's all I can smell on my skin. Smells very cheap in my opinion.

Anybody else getting coca cola in the opening?

The patchouli in this is too overbearing on me. I don’t think I’ll be using this sample. Yuck 🤢
