Chypre Impérial

It does smell very similar to Gris Dior / Gris Montaigne! Very pleased and impressed with this interpretation, coming really close to the real deal. Upon further inspection and side-to-side comparisons, I came with the following notes (otherwise, wears like Gris Montaigne and Gris Dior): Chypre Imperial feels less sparkly on the top, with a more sour-than-bright bergamot, and elemi being more prominent. It's also heavier on the oakmoss, and less vanilla - which would make it lean more traditionally masculine (has a "wet soil" feel). Also, at the very end of the fragrance life, I sense this "ambroxan"-like dry down that I feel indifferent about (I would've preferred a more vanilla-like dry down). Longevity is great, 8+ hours; my only complaint would be on projection.. it sits closer to skin.. Bottle is also very sturdy, heavy, with magnetic cap, and comes in a cylindrical box (in imitation to Dior). Perfect alternative to have at a fraction of the really high costs that Dior is asking for the real deal.

Uumh let's say yes it's very harsh at the beginning. The perfume smells loud and good but is linear. However, I sprayed it in my room at night, oooh my...it was smelling until the next morning 11 o'clock. Ooh yeah...so will u buy it again? No. Can you do a present of it? Yess to an old man around 60,70. Is it unisex? Leans masculine. 7/10. Price value: 57 euros, high quality dupe. 45 would be fair. I have Ambre fatale, Chypre Impérial, Jasmin Mystérieux, Magique moment. Gonna try Cuir Marrakech. Female who wears men frangances also. Peace

I believe this fragrance is now called Chypre Dynastie as the notes 100% match what I have for my Chypre Dynastie sample. The bergamot opening is a bit too sharp for my nose and unfortunately reminds me of cleaning products. However, as this dries down it definitely improves! The drydown is warm, clean, soft florals without any sweetness. I agree with the review below that, personally, it would have been nicer with a vanilla-like drydown and slightly more projection. This is pleasant, but not for me.
