Garrigue

Notes according to MPG website, Top- Lemon, Bergamot, Juniper Heart- Lavender, Sage, Rosemary Base- Musk, Sandalwood I've finally ordered the EDP from them, I've been using the old EDT in the red bottles for a few years now. Update coming after I get familiar with it. Edit, 6/17/22. I've used the EDP a few times now. It's great, it's the same fragrance as the old edt but with improved longevity. It's still not the longest lasting stuff in the world but it smells great. One difference, likely due to the age of the edt, is the hint of mint in the opening of the EDP. It states it’s there in the description on the website & indeed it's there but I do mean it’s a hint of mint, a suggestion. The mint is gone rather fast & actually I don't even detect the mint every time I put it on. It’s a shame lavender is omitted from fragrantica’s note list because it does play a key role. I’ve also noticed the sandalwood a bit more in the EDP than with the EDT.

If you like CK eternity and platinum Chanel. this is kind of in the middle of the two with a much refined blend of citrus and a touch of floral sweetness. High quality stuff. i have not tried the red bottles. my review is on the current EDP and it does not disappoint. Lasted 10 hours on my skin with 4-5 sprays. if you own Chanel platinum this can work as a special occasion scent. this scent can work year round. Of course it will last longer in the cooler months as heat can make a fragrance jump off the skin. i see some comparison to green irish tweed from other reviewers, but i do not understand that comparison as Creed GIT is heavy in violet and earthy green notes. The only similarities i see is the fact both can be used for the exact same situations. both super elegant and classy and can be worn year round day or night.

used this again after some months this morning....fresh, invigorating, clean, aromatic and citrucy...The composition is very good and the smell does not offend anyone. is a type of traditional men perfume but is not old fashioned at all. The rosemary with thyme i consider to be the dominant notes but being sweetened and pushed by Juniper Berries. The citrus is not so obvious as the herbs are taking the role from the begining but they give push and sunlight the compo of all others. A Must try for the lovers of this type of smell.

This scent is very nice and clean floral/fresh. combine ck eternity,chanel platinum egoist as well as creeds GIT, minus the green earthy aspect of GIT, you will have this scent. It is as refined as green Irish tweed but also has some of the ck eternity floral side. On a side note this did come out long before eternity so we know where ck got that idea. If you own GIT or Chanel platinum i would pass on it. Overall a very nice scent and lasts 8-10 hours very nice and classy. def a try scent but not a must try imo.

Yes it has similarities to Creed Green Irish tweet but less dark and more fresh and green it is! Cause it has no lavender. 🍋, rosemary, juniper berry, sage are noticeable after a while gets a bit musky with a hint of sandalwood in the background. Chanel Platinum Egoiste compared to Garrigue, is a bit harsh because of that metallic note and its not shiny, fresh green juicy like the way Garrigue is. Wish it had a better performance unfortunately these type of notes are fleeting however they are really pleasant.

I can't help but to wonder how many people leave reviews for the sake of leaving a review. Perhaps trying to raise their reviewer stats? This may indeed be my favorite, I know it very well, & egoist platinum is in my top 5. I can say, as a fact, they smell NOTHING alike nor does it smell anything close to Creed's GIT. I realize we all get different things but those aren't even in the same ballpark. This whole site loses credibility when people post fake reviews.

Yeah. This is Green Irish Tweed meets Platinum Egoiste -- and I am all for it. I'd say its about a 70/30 ratio in favor of Platinum Egoiste, perfectly capturing that aromatic fougere elegance in the same fashion, except this is far more natural, and smoother. I used to own the Chanel at some point but got rid of it due to its sharp metallic nature and synthethic woods. This, however ticks all the right boxes, making it a commendable alternative.

The perfume was received today....very good and very manly. On this the egoiste platinum was created. They have a lot o similRities and i beleive that if you put platinum with moschino forever, another very nice perfume, you get the garrigue. Give it a try.....10/10 sillage, longevity etc. herbs, mediterranean herbs with citrus and some spice....a perfect compination that gives you freshness all day

The single best smelling mens fragrance I’ve ever worn. I’m referring to the EDT versions in the 3.0 & 3.3 oz red bottles. As of this writing I haven’t yet tried the current EDP version.

Salty sea water meets lightly citronized fresh herbs in MPG GARRIGUE, a high-quality fragrance with a somewhat standard cologne-type masculine base. The saltiness and aquatic feeling of GARRIGUE would make it ideal for hot weather. I find the base of this composition more masculine than feminine, but the sage, thyme, and rosemary blend together to produce a subtle herbaceousness that will appeal to many, whether wearers or those in their midst. The longevity is pretty good for a fragrance of this type, and the sillage is medium, so GARRIGUE is probably not the best choice for those who prefer that their perfuming habits remain well-kept secrets to which only insiders are privy.

Very serious, no sweetness. I don't typically picture a specific person or scenario when smelling a fragrance, but I really do imagine this fitting best on an older gentleman wearing a suit or otherwise working in a professional, corporate setting. I like it and would enjoy smelling it on someone else but I'm a bit too frivolous for it to fit me personally.

Familiar, very masculine,—an easy to like, herbal, aromatic Fougere. I don’t mean any disrespect, but I think Garrigue would make a great, natural car air freshener scent. From 1988, and I bet it was well received when it debuted. Today, there’s a lot of competition for similar fumes, but I still like it.

Something must be wrong with the notes. At least to my nose this is a schoolbook aromatic Fougere. But none of the most prominent notes are listed.... (lavender, coumarin, geranium) Think it is overpriced for what you get.

Smells incredibly natural. It is a green scent but it is not bright. It is a slightly dark, green and sexy scent. Longevity is average and projection is below average.

I'm not the target consumer, but I also don't really believe in fragrance being reserved for certain genders. In any case, I find this pretty harsh and overpowering. I can only imagine a brusque person wearing this.

Hello, my old enemy coniferous fougère. Few of the ingredients suggest this is a real fougère but oh boy that rosemary, piney juniper, sage and lavender (not listed by Fragrantica) billow out like one on my skin. For me Garrigue is old school biitter-aromatic and isn't something I can wear. I get none of the light citrus side others mention. I have great respect for this house, just this one isn't for me

This was a complete blind buy. Platinum Egoiste? Yes, one could argue the "shell" of PE is definitely within this. If you told me Jacques Polge was directly influenced by Garrigue (1988) for his own 1993 release, then I would believe you. This smells like an early prototype of Platinum Egoiste, before Polge figured out the quintessential "metallic" accord so famously associated with that particular Chanel fragrance. It's kind of an uncanny-valley feeling when I spray this; after the opening has died down, the mid is similar to PE, and I keep waiting for that bracing metallic sheen to kick in, but it never does. Contrary to some of the other reviews below, I actually miss that aspect a bit in this, as it gives such an unmistakable DNA to Platinum Egoiste. Whereas this is missing a bit of its own signature "touch". Something I also like about PE is how dry and sharp it is. Bracing. Garrigue, on the other hand, has this almost sweet fruitiness underneath; it's seriously kind of juicy at times when it wafts. Hard to explain, as this isn't a "fruity" fragrance. PE is a lot drier and herbal, while Garrigue almost has a watery/aquatic Dihydromyrcenol-like effect ala Davidoff Cool Water, which comes out especially in the dry down. GIT? Admittedly, it's been a while since I smelled GIT, but personally I don't smell the connection so far; there's no violet in this. Honestly, this smells more like a theoretical, juiced-up prototype of Calvin Klein Eternity (but thankfully without the awful "plastic bag" synthetic-aroma chemical-stew of the CK) or like an early, non-metallic and much "wetter" version of Platinum Egoiste. Does not "literally" smell like either of those, just trying to give an overall idea of what family this sits in. All in all, I like this. However, I will say that it feels a bit like taking some of the bits of a couple of different fragrances and splicing them together. Like an "everything but the kitchen sink" type of feeling. Even though this was released earlier. FWIW, I genuinely think older (pre-2020) bottles of Platinum Egoiste are a better fragrance than this. However, I'd take Garrigue over the current bottles of Platinum Egoiste (the modern-day bottles are those ones with chanel.com printed on them instead of the address), which sadly have been butchered into an absolutely diluted mess by Chanel. Edit: Hmm, there's just something "fusty/musty" about this that keeps me from truly getting on board with it. It's kind of crazy: this was released in 1988, and Platinum Egoiste came out only five years later, yet Garrigue really does smell like a fragrance of its time (the 80s), while PE still smells so wearable in 2026. I'm also not overly keen on the dry down of this. As I mentioned, there's a Dihydromyrcenol-like accord that comes out, which "cheapens" the blend a bit, as it reminds me so much of Cool Water. I actually love Cool Water as a fragrance, but unfortunately it's not exactly the most "elegant" smelling fragrance in the world, if you know what I mean. That same sort of watery/aquatic 80s accord is in the dry down of this, and it just feels out of place. Someone below mentioned Garrigue would make for a nice air freshener. I honestly don't mean this to be a "negative", but yeah, I can actually totally see where they're coming from with that opinion. There's just something "stuffy" about this fragrance overall, from opening to dry down, which keeps me from truly loving it. And I say that as someone who thinks Chanel Pour Monsieur EDT, released in 1955, is one of the greatest fragrances ever created. So I definitely don't have an issue with older fragrances; in fact, I vastly prefer them to the current modern-day sugary-sweet slop. Still keeping the same rating. It's a great fragrance, but yeah, I'm still going to keep stocking up on older batches of Platinum Egoiste, as this didn't "convert" me, unfortunately, like I was hoping it would. 8/10

This is quite nice, especially for the first hour or so, and IMO worth the price if this is what you're seeking. However, to me the base is not as unique, and I think I would be just as satisfied with something like Good Life (the women's version), though I'm not claiming that they are very similar. That one is a bit more powdery and complex, which I prefer (and perhaps I prefer fig to juniper, at least in this sort of idea). It seems like there is some amber here, because there is a soft/fruity/sweet aspect, though it's not nearly as strong as in many other scents with a similar accord. Note that this is nowhere near as dry and herbal as I thought it would be. If that's what you're seeking, you can try Blenheim Bouquet.

TRY TO CHANGE THE FAMOUS FRESH FRAG SUCH AS (CK,CHANEL,CD,VERSACE,PACCO R)THESE ARE VERY COMMON,TRY THIS ONE AND YOU WILL NEVER BE REGRET. NOTE:I BOUGHT THIS ONE FOR FOUR TIMES AND I CAN'T CHANGE IT BELEIVE ME EVERYONE WILL ASK, WHAT ARE YOU WEARING? 10/10
