Rose Muskissime

Imagine yourself sitting on your softly sunlit patio in the early morning while there is still a little chill in the air, and the dew is fresh on the rosebuds that abound. On your table rests a bowl of fruits and a lovely little boquet, that give off their pleasant scents, and mingle with the dew, roses, effervescent champagne, and freshly groomed greens. This beautiful, bright essence changes 15 minuites in, to a duskier rose, that reveals the same setting at evening, this time in silk, and heels, where carnation, and musk make their gentle entrance, and frame the roses, which are now voluptuous in full bloom. Their scent rich in the still night air. Muskissme is an absolutely gorgeous rose. Well balanced, complex, while seemimg simple at first sniff. The silliage is rather poor, it moves through its unfolding stages rather quickly on the skin, and dries down to a soft, slightly green, rose skin scent. Gentle in all of its phases, very ladylike. And beautiful during every phase. I could see muskissme being an ideal wedding day scent, following its innocent beginning to its demure sensuality in the dry down. Muskissme is a very beautiful rose that unfolds many personalities. This fragrance sticks to clothing a little better, and stays longer in the bright first phase. I enjoyed layering it on my skin, & clothing to get both sides of this scent at once. Enjoy this beauty, i will love muskissme all summer long, during the hot days & nights!

Oh. How beautiful. Soft,powdery Berry Rose,makes me feel sooooo good But why oh why the joy is so short lived,to short. I love how feminin and innocent it is. Thank you Kteyhark for the personal delivery :) and for your review,when you said innocent,it set me on a new search For innocent perfumes.

Of all the perfumes I own, Rose Muskissme is the only one that has turned, despite keeping all my scents in dark, cool places. It now smells foul.

I have mixed feelings about this one. Rose Muskissime opens with a massive dose of tropical fruit salad (mango! my pet hate) and it's a while before the powdery florals emerge, light and carefree, to mingle with blackcurrant. The perfume actually becomes very beautiful here: rose, iris and carnation in a creamy mix, gentle sandalwood beginning to stir. And to finish it slowly subsides into a light musky skin scent. Quite the voyage. For summer evenings, as the sun goes down, sipping your first cocktail at a tropical beach resort, endless days of sun-soaked idling ahead. This is the lightest rose fragrance i have ever tried. It starts off very green, very fresh very natural young roses, stems and all. But sadly this barely lasts 30mins on me with no development, i can not smell it on skin at all, i have tried spraying on hair & clothes, but nothing. I have been wearing this for 3 days now, it is very hot weather here, so I will try it in cooler weather, which may make a difference. Very disappointing performance for the price, I recommend trying this before buying.

It smells foil. Have no idea what happened cause I just bought it in a very good shop! I find it smelling like a sweet powdery dying rose on smth even more rotten. Brrrrrr. Total failure.

Eek. This isn't great. Too powdery, quite waxy, and a bit dowdy. Not a great rose fragrance.

I have always felt, deep down inside, that I should like the perfumes of the house of Maître Parfumeur et Gantier. This is no doubt in part because of the lore surrounding the name of Jean-François Laporte, who founded the house of L'Artisan Parfumeur--now wildly successful--before leaving to establish his own independent house, Maître Parfumeur et Gantier. In truth, I can confess here among fragrant friends that L'Artisan Parfumeur is not my favorite house. I like their creations for the high quality of their ingredients, but they never really touch the inner core of my being. For a while I was thinking that perhaps the soul of L'Artisan was really that of Laporte and maybe he was just more of a perfumer than a businessman, which might explain why MPG is pretty low on most people's radar, while L'Artisan recently signed an agreement with... gasp... Sephora! These were all inchoate ideas swirling about my mind for a couple of years. Once I obtained some MPG sample from a discount emporium, I found that the compositions were generally unbalanced, often difficult to understand, and sometimes just plain unpleasant. I wrote all of this off to the seamy provenance of my vials: one of those gray market discounters which may or may not have decent ambient warehouse storage conditions. On ne sait jamais... I did buy a bottle of IRIS BLEU GRIS scent unsniffed, on the recommendation of the esteemed jpg, and I agree with him that it is an excellent perfume. My next foray began when awesome Awesomeness sent me a generous decanted sample of ROSE MUSKISSIME, which I have now worn several times. Once again, I find to my surprise (why I continue to be surprised remains a mystery...) that this perfume is basically the opposite of a buy-at-the-counter creation. It's almost as though it was designed specifically to repel superficial consumers who buy on the basis of top notes. Why do I say this? Because the opening smells just like grape Jolly Ranchers candy! It's incredibly sweet, and the rose is totally MIA for several minutes. What happens next, for those with the patience to wait, is that the sweetness cedes somewhat as the black currant leaf begins to emerge, transforming what had seemed to be grape Jolly Ranchers into true black currant candies. At this stage, it's still candy-like, but it's closer to a much more sophisticated currant pastille. Then the best stage begins: the rose peeks out from behind the fruits and currant leaves and becomes stronger and stronger, until, by the drydown, this really is a black currant rose perfume--and a nice one at that! Patience and forbearance are needed to appreciate this composition, but to those who can look beyond the somewhat gauche opening, there really is beauty here to be found.

A fruity floral woody? Yes please. This fragrance has been around for 25 years and for good reason: its lush, warm, and innocently sweet. I like this. I agree with the comments below that is short lived and can be stretched by wearing on the clothes. What stands out is the glorious black currant, and wow do I love it! Overall this is a luscious balance between juicy ripe fruit and achingly warm wood. I had a hard time keeping my nose out of my shirt. Fans will already have some mature orientals in their arsenal. Yes, it opens a little harshly, but give it time and it blossoms beautifully. Sandalwood and amber can't be beat, in my opinion, and that is what you'll get here. Enjoy!

Bitter animalic spicy fruits! I guess the roses used are the Turkish as i can sense some sweet roses beside the bitter fruits and i believe the bitterness was from the ambergris which makes it quite animalic. I can sense some contradiction in here somehow! the overly sweet from fruits, and overly animalic from musk and ambergris! not sure to grasp the idea of it till now! i mean i am used to 80s blends but this one is quite different than any other 80s, 90s blends!

Very soft rose. Natural smelling, dewy rose with leaves and thorns. The mango note is very subtle. I almost don't get the iris note. I do perceive the Black Currant/cassis....The drydown is slightly spicy, the amber is soft. Overall, the scent is very natural smelling, soft and airy. Maybe a little bit too much cassis for my taste, but it is a very well done scent. Natural smelling, elegant and feminine.

Sadly, doesn't do it for me... Sits very close to skin and I am not very impressed with what it has to offer. A very politically correct perfume if you like: it could be worn anywhere and hardly anyone would notice - even yourself;)

This fragrance is very floral... Rose Muskissime opens with flowers,maybe subtle flowers; mellows out to a powdery sensation. This is wonderful on my wife and long-lasting.

Why is not ambergris mentioned? My God! This is a bomb of ambergris! Terribly sensual!
