Tendre Est La Nuit Clair

This scent is a work of art, from the juice to the bottle. I am not familiar with this niche house from France but their creations do stand apart from the usual stuff! Visually and olfactorily! I suspect that Tendre est la Nuit is a nod to her Moroccan roots. The scent is familiar, similar to many spicy, warm ambers but in the same time is unlike them! I don’t know how to put in words the emotion that spraying this on my wrist gave me, but it made me feel calm, comforted, serene and happy. It’s has a subdued spiciness, nothing in your face and some warmth with a slightly sweet undertone. It’s as magical and perfect as the warm sunset light for me. Addictive! The bottle of Majda Bekkali brand, the warm yellow or different shades of brown hues (that most of the bottles have), makes me think of something floating on a calm lake in the sunlight! Or a galaxy.. Felt so good holding it in my palm, I think choosing this unique shape for the bottles was a very thoughtful process. Performance is good but not great and it’s quite pricey. Otherwise it would have come with me home.

My goodness!!! This stuff is amazing! I will have to revisit my sample to test on skin but the drydown on paper smells like a better blended Le Labo Rose 31 with some added vanilla. Opening of this is exquisite, rich, and unique. I don't know how to vividly describe that wonderful opening(its not like Rose 31), but I will have to update this in the future. Top 3 in my wishlist, bottle worthy as hell! Edit: Disregard the Rose 31 comparison! Testing on skin now and I'm getting a ton of amber now. A delicious earthy oakmossy and spicy amber, wow! Just the right amount of sweetness, this is really sexy. On the drydown the sweetness calms down and the frag turns drier and earthier. 9.5/10 scent for me ー🎅

Ahh, beautiful. To my nose it leans more traditionally feminine, because right away I detect a prominent sweetness that comes across as a honey note that I don't see listed. I suspect it's part of the amber accord. Other than that I get clove, cedar, ambrette, vetiver and "spices" right away. And when the opening dries down I begin to get some vanilla, adding to the sweetness. This is an intensely warming fragrance to me, perfect for colder months. On me it doesn't seem to project a lot, but the longevity is really there, even though it might stick closer to the skin. You can really see the concentration from the amount of perfume oils left on your skin after a spray. This is really, really nice.

I like the warm honeyed spices in this, it reminds me of the original Comme des Garcons but lighter. Then the vetiver comes through really adding a new dimension. This is a beautiful creation, something warm but not overbearing. Despite seeming remarkably contemporary, I can see a vintage quality to this which works for Zelda. Stunning.
