Rocher Princier

Pretty straightforward , aldehidic incense. It feels soft, waxy and clean. Rocher Princier doesn't offer anything new or very original, just a simple, handsome incense. There are more interesting options in this price range.

Rocher Princier is a strange but ultimately interesting scent. I'm not sure if the notes pyramid is correct here as the second you apply it and for quite some time after, it has a distinct citrus note that remind me of lemon zest, sort of a bitter lemon and vetiver or lemongrass actually. I'm instantly transported to a freshly cleaned theater's backstage. Plain as day to me. There is no eathiness in this but a levity and capitulation between dry and moist notes, slightly powdery and herbal but not medicinal. The performance overall is not spectacular sadly as this would be an amazing summer evening scent if it could project and last longer. Scent: 6.5/10 while it does something for me personally (memory wise) it is not that unique of a smell to be an overall standout. In the dry-down it does become a bit more unique and spicy but unfortunately loses most if not all the projection by then. It shows some very noce cardamom and hazlenut notes after the first 30 as it hits the dry down though and reminds me a lot of Valentino Uomo, a touch of incense on the back end but by no means an incense forward scent. Very non linear and a bit chaotic. Projection: 5/10 for the first 30 minutes to an hour. About on par with Le Male for my skin, then drops off to a 2/10 for the next hour and finally vanishes unless you are nose-deep in it after that. Sillage: 4/10 for the first 30 minutes. After that, leaves virtually no train. Longevity: 5/10 I get a total wearable time of 3 hours on this before it needs to be reapplied if you are planning on wearing it all day, but it does transition from day to night effortlessly so if you dont mind the amount of juice you will need to burn, it can be a dumb reach. Would I buy a full bottle: maybe. After this decant is done I will miss it, if I don't, but I have a hard time swallowing the price tag for the performance.

Quite clear, simple and obvious. Incense, aldehydes, nutmeg, cinnamon, cardamom, sandalwood, and black peppers. Straightforward, complete common, and nothing new so far. Oh btw, when it cools down, it become quite similat to "Casbah" by Robert Piguet
