Rock Salt

It starts off with a big, juicy blast of lemon-lime citrus and this intense saltiness running alongside it. It's almost like smelling a salted lemon or a salted lime up close. There are white florals floating in the background too, something that reminds me of jasmine or neroli. The overall effect is incredibly bright, uplifting, and almost cooling. It's a wonderful opening. As it settles, a sweetness starts sneaking through. It's very soft and restrained, never overly sweet. There's a little vanilla, and my mind keeps going to benzoin. I get citrus-leaning resin too, I'm thinking it's the elemi. Regardless, there's definitely a subtle sweetness along with the resinous citrusy quality that rounds everything out beautifully. I picture this image of a piece of benzoin dipped in fresh lemon juice then rolled around in sea salt. Honestly it is stunning. Finally everything settles and I get a creamy savory sandalwood. All the brightness starts to fade but it never loses that salty mineral quality that has been there from the beginning. Now it just sits on my skin giving it that "skin but better" vibe that you get from fragrances with real ambergris. It was a lovely experience on this hot summer day. My only caveat is you need to overspray this one. Twenty sprays wouldn't be too much at all. Love.
