MALBRUM - Wildfire Essence of masculinity🔥⚔️ Is it possible for a human character bottled in a single perfume? In my humble journey of enjoying fragrances, I've experienced many amazing scent that manage to evokes memories and emotions or recreate certain atmosphere and environment. But an olfactory picture perfectly translating a certain human character is a rarity to find, until now. Wildfire is an extention of human masculinity through fumes. The smell is very primal, unapologetic and demands very specific taste to appreciate it. Imagine the character of 'Hercules' as the strongest mortal male character from ancient mythology. A person with ultimate strength and willpower. He also doesn't hold back to show his passionate affection for the women he truly care. Every feminine counterparts will fall for his protection and warmth. Wearing Wildfire truly gets me into the character outside my usual persona. Strong pepper and sharp spicy mint combine with the warmth of cloves and hot pimento play a big role here. Although not mentioned I also notice cumin representing sweaty body odour in the most glorious way. While other notes such as incense, amber, patchouli and vanilla are there to enhance the whole aroma in the background. I really enjoy wearing this character shifting fumes in cold weather situations when I want to awaken the gladiator soul inside of me. It's a masterpiece targeted to a very spesific mood and intimate encounters. I will describe Wildfire as a sexual fume rather than a pleasing perfume. Wow, what an alluring scent! Wildfire was a completely random free sample I received along with a handful of samples I carefully selected at a niche perfume store in my city, so I didn't have any particular expectations. Well, it ended up blowing away most of the scents I'd chosen, and I’ve already upgraded to a full bottle. The opening menagerie of spices grabs and shakes you, and to my delight, that spiciness lingers for hours. Peppermint is an incredibly fleeting slap, but the black and pink pepper stick around like a beautiful bruise beginning to blossom. Pimento struts onto the scene and antagonizes the nose in a delightful way. I can really experience the tingling singe of capcasin. Warm spices nutmeg and clove cushion the blow and cradle you like a domme providing aftercare as you're lulled into the heady embrace of raunchy, musky costus along with just a touch of ambery sweetness. Costus is the star of the show here — easily the strongest note on my skin. This fragrance is dirty, intoxicating, and downright sensual. My only criticism of Wildfire is its eye-roll inducing marketing. In fact, I'm glad this was a blind sample, because the description of Wildfire is so cringy that I wouldn't have bothered trying the fragrance had I read it prior to experiencing the scent. I don't get "caveman ravaging his cavewoman next to a fire" when I smell this, and thank god for that. Yes, it's absolutely sexually-charged, but in my opinion Wildfire is squarely unisex and I love it all the more for that. The name is a bit misleading as well; I'm a big fan of smoky frags and this isn't one. I consider Wildfire a musky-spicy-amber fragrance.

Malbrum Parfums Wildfire is one of the two entries from this house that I was most taken with when smelling the house’s offerings at Perfumology, and a well-contrived burning/spicy scent with sweet and slightly resinous tones that make it a bit less sharp and intense than some other scents in that same category, despite perhaps the most deliberately incendiary name. The full note listing seems worth laying out in this case, given the variety: black and pink pepper, peppermint, cloves, pimento, nutmeg, incense, costus, amber, patchouli, and vanilla. I didn’t know much about costus but reading an article about it, it’s said to add a raw animalic vibe, and there’s vaguely some of that in this fragrance, but it’s mainly a spicy, semi-burning, semi-sweet, resinous mix that’s really well-blended and not too extreme, a fun but sophisticated achievement, and probably a little more accessible than my other favorite of the house, Psychotrope. It's extrait concentration and performs well, with standard pricing for the line being $135 for 30ml, sold via boutiques like Perfumology and MaxAroma. I think it’s a reasonable value given the quality and performance, and I frankly prefer smaller-bottle options even if the cost per ml is slightly higher. 8 out of 10

Close to a Japanese incense stick. Spiced rather then heavily frankincense focused. The cloves and pepper make for a powdery yet heady and tantalising scent that reaches up and fills your head. The costus cozy and woolen rather then unwashed and scalpy. Everything is association, but for me this is being wrapped in a warm wool blanket together with a partner or friend. Fire that burns clean, not smoking you through, a devotion to a nearby Buddhist temple has just finished and the curry-like incense permeates the air. Meanwhile you share a simple dinner of foraged foods, red bell peppers grilled by the flame. There's a kiss and a touch. I don't so much believe in gendering scent. It's purely cultural. A forest walk has no gender, nor does fire, the sap of a tree or the rot of leaves. This scent is no different, it's spiced, warm, gently sweet, heady. Similar vain to Encens Roi by Histoires (heavy on the red pepper, but leans harder into a Frankincense cacao blend) and Encens Suave by Matière (way sweeter and no spice)

Wildfire is the ultimate smoldering amber, a hot orange glow of scorched spice and flying embers. However, it is not exceedingly smoky or sooty—this is no violent fire, it burns clean and steady, with calm plumes reaching to the heavens. There is a little hit to the senses like the capsaicin from chili peppers that tickles the back of my throat just a wee bit. It contrasts with the clove bud as it reaches the heart, a mild vanillic sweetness further tempering the heat and spice. It is the woolly and sensual costus in a haze of incense in the base of Wildfire that is the preeminent characteristic of this enkindled amber. It pairs well on the ever cooler, chillier nights of November, where one picks up whiffs of burning fireplaces in the sleepy neighborhoods of suburban New England. Sure, these are not wildfires, but we don't really have those very often where I am. As always, the joy of perfume is that it's open to so many interpretations, drawn from personal experiences.

I got a free sample of this with a different purchase and I liked it more than the fragrance that I actually bought. At first I got something similar to Bentley For Men Absolute, they’re both smoky, incense-y, peppery, dry woody scents, but this takes that idea to the extreme, and really lives up to its name. If the Bentley feels like sitting by a fireplace, then Wildfire genuinely feels like walking through a forest that has recently been on fire. It opens green, coniferous and a little minty, but it quickly develops into this waxy, musky, charred cedar and pepper scent with a prominent snuffed matchstick accord. This almost feels like something Comme Des Garçons would release. I don’t know why it gets so little attention, but it’s fantastic, slightly challenging but perfectly wearable, warm and cozy. Perfect for the holiday season.

I've tried some 30+ resinous and everegren fragrances and I have to say some of my favorites have been knocked clean off the pedestal by this one! I was sent this as a 2ml sample with my purchase and oh boy. It has clearly distinct resinous notes that don't smell like church but the nature they came from. At the same time the woodsy aromas don't overpower either. It doesn't smell like caveman aftershave made by crushing whatever you can find in the woods. Or fire, for that matter. This is Tauer Au Coeur but maybe less amber and more resins.

Reminds me of the PNW. Smells exactly like a sawmill that only dels with pine and cedar trees. There is a sweetness in this I wasn’t expecting but somehow love. About 30 minutes in you get a dirty, earthy note that I imagine is the costus. It does very well with the photorealistic pine and cedar. After that it turns into a musky vanilla with some slight resins. I picked this up at frarancenet for 60$. If you want to smell like a man that’s been living in a fire watch tower somewhere in Northern California, then get this.

Edit: 12/29/2021 Amber-like clove and incense slowly burn with a subtle, floral black pepper and pimento rub that remains through the heart of the fragrance. Mint is there and then gone like a brief vapor in the opening. Vanilla adds just enough sweetness to make it more of a 'bonfire' than a 'wildfire' of abrasive spices. Development is minimal and quiet, but about an hour or so in, the earthy, sweet-green, and rooty costus suddenly appears to assist the spices and vanilla in becoming a brilliantly blended fragrance. So what is the scent picture here? Well, quite simply, a spice cabinet. But not just any boring spice cabinet. I picture a colonial spice pantry in an old stone house; one where spices and a few green sprigs of vanilla are hanging to dry, releasing their beautiful aromas into the still air, the particulates gracing your senses upon opening the door to this closet of beautiful, aromatic ingredients. The sky is amber at dusk on a cold, fall evening in this home, and a fire is crackling on the stone hearth. All is settled and quiet. All of this is captured into a little glass bottle to compose what I think could be very versatile perfume, but only throughout the cooler/colder seasons of spring, fall, and winter. You could probably swing this on a cool summer evening. I think this perfume could have been named more appropriately, but who am I to reinterpret the lovely Delphine Thierry's original evocation. I do like this perfume. If you enjoy the likes of Viktor&Rolf's 'Spicebomb Extreme,' but are growing tired of it's youthfulness, and you wish to mature your repertoire, Malbrum's 'Wildfire' by Delphine Thierry is your answer. Wow! I can’t get over some suggestions here for similar scents - Copper Skies - whoa - nnooothinggggg like this!!! The closest approximation is Profumum Arso and Slumberhouse Norne. Whilst good quality - the scent has a urinic oily turn after 30 minutes thanks to the pepper and chillie that ruins it for me making me smell like I’ve worked out and my synthetic sports top reeks of sweat. I find Alghabra Labrinyth of Spices whilst more focused on dry spices does a better job despite its oily cumin feel.

Phenomenal clove base, with peppery, minty nutmeg. Do I detect a hint of refined oud? Yes, I do. Balanced to perfection. Harmonic and resinous. Floral incense and patchouli in the undertone seal the deal. This is good stuff! I prefer the opening to the drydown, but I also really appreciate the fact that this fragrance is lively, and moves on your skin. The oud accord really gives way as the clove accent dominates the scent. Still an exceptional fragrance if you like spicy scents.

This is alright. It’s basically an incense smoky cedar perfume. It has some sweetness similar to a sweet wood. Linear. It was really smoky a year ago when I got it, but it’s now settled down to a sparkly amber sweet incense. Feels like a fireplace in the fall pines.

This evokes an very Christmasy vibe to me (perhaps the nutmeg, cloves, and mint?) but not in a cheesy way, this has depth to it. It’s really beautiful. I also disagree with the comment that this in “masculine”, I feel like it’s unisex.

When I quickly sniffed them I had the impression of a campfire in the forest. The campfire is burning wood from the forest and half a truckload of match heads, the smell of burning sulfur and resinous wood in the forest... The scent is certainly original, but I wouldn't want to smell like that...

After the wonderfully aromatic and peppery clove in the opening, I was already prepared to once again fork up money for another perfume. But soon the synthetic wood and smoke notes dominate the fragrance, and the spices fade away, along with my enthusiasm. The reviewer who mentioned Arso as a reference has a point; Arso suffers from the same fake burnt woods smell as Wildfire, although Wildfire is less irritating. The sticky costus in the base, which reminds me of L'Air de Rien in the most unpleasant way possible, makes the positive first impression fade into oblivion. My wallet sends its regards.

This fragrance demonstrates the inherent allure of a masculine scent combined with burning woods. Used during the blue hours to enhance intimacy. Wildfire is a tribute to the men who were stranded on deserted islands.
