Cannabis Eau de Parfum

As a patchouli lover, I adore Cannabis! Because this scent has nothing to do with cannabis, it’s mainly an earthy, green, fresh, wet, warm and spicy patchouli forward fragrance. If you want cannabis, this ain’t that! If you want a moderately strong patchouli perfume with peppery, citrusy facets and a woody, soft base, give this a try. It’s nice and it’s an unisex, tame patchouli scent. For a patchouli dominant perfume Cannabis is fairly light and close to the skin, without being a skin scent like most of Malin+Goetz perfumes turned out to be on me. I wanted to love this house after hearing The Perfume Guy talking highly about Strawberry, but because all the fragrances are so weak, I just can’t...This one and Leather are the best in my opinion, but I wouldn’t buy them unless I could get them for half price, because they simply don’t worth the full retail price! Most of patchouli fragrances that I have or tested are long lasting and proper strong, this company couldn’t even make their patchouli perfume have a decent longevity! I am sorry to say but none worth full prices and I don’t recommend buying anything from them, unless on sale! Malin+Goetz proved to be an absolute let down for me!

This is the definition of a gender neutral fragrance. This is also the definition of a fragrance that can easily become the signature scent of many. Not cloying, not annoying, not obviously "cannabis". More elegantly woody with pleasant citrus. I usually dislike patchouli but in this fragrance, patchouli is wonderfully blended to make it mimic cannabis. Magnolia must be the "creamy" touch added to the cannabis. (Don't worry, it's only mildly mildly creamy!) This fragrance reminds me of Santal 33 but not as powerful - in a good way. (I loved Santal 33 when I initially smelled it on a friend but after smelling it everywhere, it became overbearing and a little nauseating. When my friend would hug me, I could smell Santal 3 days later on my scarf and couldn't stand it anymore.) I have been wearing this fragrance for 2 hours now and it still smells very pleasant. It is more woody than it was in the beginning. Curious to see the performance of the fragrance oil. Will most likely purchase. (I would love to smell this on my boyfriend as well!)

This is honestly a really nice fragrance that sort of blends my favorite elements – a zesty citrus opening, a peppery kick, and a warm, woody dry down. The initial notes of bergamot and black pepper are strong, which kind of set the stage for this scent. The base notes of cedarwood, patchouli, and sandalwood provide a lasting warmth, making it perfect for colder months. What honestly surprised me most was the subtle smokiness mentioned in the description. Unlike typical smoky fragrances (which I tend to dislike), it adds an nice layer without overpowering the composition at all. If you love the Cannabis candle, you'll love this... even though you are missing that incense-y sensation you get from the slow burn. In essence, if you love bright spice and woods, this is for sure a fragrance worth exploring. It's sort of become a winter staple in my collection, which is a departure from the ordinary for me. And you can usually find this fragrance on sale at plenty retailers so I think it's a great price for what it is.

Vast emerald rolling hills, river and sky mirroring each other in crystal blue hues. Air so fresh it begs you close your eyes and allow it to permeate your senses. Cannabis by Malin + Goetz takes me to the Scottish Highlands. Zesty and clean without a trace of soapiness. Black pepper and patchouli add spiciness that stays through the duration of wear while bergamot and magnolia offer brightness. Cedar and sandalwood ground and soften the composition. I imagine Jamie from Outlander radiating this scent after a hard fought battle and then subsequent bath at Lallybroch. Don’t let the name scare you off; there’s no thc or even a real cannabis note here. If you are however looking for a scent that packs a maryjane punch, I suggest Byredo Open Sky. 🌿

This was one of my first fragrances, and it's been a go-to since day one. It's definitely not "cannabis," as the name suggests—the only real similarity to cannabis is the spicy, earthy, woody scent. It does well as part of the year-round rotation, although it leans more toward fall/winter use. I've tried the EDP and perfume oil rollerball versions, and there's no huge difference. The EDP is slightly better, but I prefer the convenience of the rollerball. The performance is decent, the projection isn't great, and it'll last close to the skin for 6-8 hours. It's classified as unisex, although, in my opinion, it leans more toward masculine. Overall, it's an excellent starter fragrance, and for the price, it's a must-have for any rotation.

Good green and slightly bitter fragrance. It doesn't smell of any cannabis that I'm aware of. I have the convenient oil rollerball, and performance is mediocre for an EdP. However, good quality ingredients for year round use, that are classed as unisex, but I think it's more towards the masculine side. It was good value, I don't regret owning it, and I would buy it again.

Soooo sexy, like an hot stoner line cook skater beanie dude who you know is a fuckboy but u still want them. Doesn't smell like actual weed, but captures the same herbal, sharp medicinal and kinda musky quality. Green and lush and steamy!!! When my bf wears this I can't keep my nose off of him, yum.

Not nearly as offensive as its name would suggest, peppery woody citrus smoothed out by a *subtle* patchouli. Truly unisex, relaxing and refreshing. Spa vibes. I wear this after the shower a lot. I fell in love with the candle first, which does have a little more edge to it than the perfume.

Gender neutral, masculine lean. This one’s pretty strong and people definitely take notice of it, compliment it. Woody and herbal, fresh+cozy. Doesn’t smell like za unfortunately. Smells like a beautiful intriguing stranger who walked past that you’ll never see again.

I like this one. Cosmopolitan, spicy, woody. Feels "dark" to me, but in a nice dry way, without being deep or musky. Wouldn't hesitate to wear it at the office or in social settings, but I wouldn't say it's generic, either.

This is a super nice perfume. It has something very addictive.

The oil version has been my signature scent for years and this is quite different / less likable. Oil version is more damp moss and intoxicating nature. This applies bracing herbal and woody that's thick with faint menthol. Saffron and pink peppercorn help lift. Opening is intense and clunky, but settles. Spicy vetiver becomes dominant while moss adds weighty loam. Zero cannabis, if that's what you're looking for, but excels at dank forest nature without citrus, sweet, or powder. Not too dry, but also not warm...more moody (but not cold or off-putting). Potency diminishes before notes harmonize. Oil version is a beast that has opposite effect. This is also dryer, like suede, and more woody than the oil. Overall this is fine/nice, but don't waste your time and only pursue the oil. 1ST REVIEW: The oil version was my sig scent for years (now replaced by Frederic Malle’s “French Lover”). This EDP isn’t as good. It has the loamy, wet forest note I fell in love with, but up close is dry soap/wood that’s too brusque. Overall, it’s more delicate and less densely spiced as the oil. The projection is actually quite evocative and more reminiscent of the candle that initially hooked me. Dissipates surprisingly quickly - polar opposite of oil. Too many downsides to justify what little it does right when the oil is so much stronger.

This bottle came to me in a blind swap. Mentally, due to the name of the fragrance, I was expecting something akin to the aroma of what you might find at party. Well, it's not like that at all - it's herbs and spices mixed with dry woods. While the cannabis itself may be present, I'm picking up something that smells like dry basil and kitchen spices which have been mixed with wood shavings in a light broth of patchouli. In regard to the woods, the sandalwood is more noticeable and cedar plays kind of a backing wood role, rather than the prominence it has in a a fragrance like Tam Dao. I'm not picking up bergamot at all and apparently, there's a white floral element but it's certainly a distant background player. I can't distinctively pick out magnolia and I'm working under the assumption that there is a white floral note, because it's listed by the manufacturer. While this may be listed as a unisex fragrance I find it to be more on the masculine side, despite the claimed floral element. I'm seeing this as being a unique addition to a collection which would work well as an office fragrance or for a casual night out. Projection is moderate and longevity is average. If you like fragrances like Tam Dao, CDG Hinoki and Wonderwood, you'd probably like this one as well.

If you are expecting this perfume to smell like cannabis you will be disappointed. However the notes in this perfume do evoke those similar smells of lingering fresh spicy woods. The black pepper and bergamot come on strong upon first spray and fade into a nice woody (cedar) smell once it has had some time to dry down. Decent longevity and sillage, but won't fill up a room nor last all day. Because of this perfumes brightness I'd recommend it more for the warmer seasons during the day, however it is acceptable in the night. My favorite time of year for this are those warmer fall days due to the woody base notes. It's like standing in a crisp cedarwood forest after fresh rainfall, highly recommend, just don't blind buy it. Try it on first at a Nordstrom, Neiman, Bloomingdales, or Saks. Go for the perfume oil over the EDP if you're looking for all day longevity.

Nice! I got a bottle of this for my partner after we sampled a tester set from m+g and this was the winner. I love smelling this on his neck. It's a good spring/summer, unisex but masculine leaning, clean citrussy yet spicy scent. It smells roughly the same in the morning as it does in the evening, though it is a skin scent by then. Work-safe, linear, inoffensive, fresh, classy. Longevity is good, sillage is moderate. Makes me think of a content and confident person who knows their self worth. Brings to mind open outside spaces, movement and adventure, big skies. The bottle design is minimalist and the bottle feels nice in the hand. The nozzle is good quality and gives a strong, well dispersed spray. Overall I think it's a safe blind buy, it's not groundbreaking or unusual, and doesn't smell of cannabis at all.

I got this as part of a fragrance discovery kit Malin and Goetz brought out and are trying it out for the first time right now. It’s warm, musky, peppery and smells lovely against my skin. I even smell a touch of tobacco perhaps but it’s a nice smell and kind of reminds me of the times that I was at the race track watching my father’s horse run and being amongst him and his friends after the horse had won its race. It’s not quite what I call masculine but I wouldn’t call it feminine either. It’s comforting to me taking me back to those days at the races and being around people after the race. Did they smell like cannabis? No but many smoked. It’s a woody smoke I can smell and it’s not that bad. I like it but I’m not sure if I would pay the high price for a bottle. I still like it though...🤨

I am surprised so many people are saying that the fragrance shouldn’t be called cannabis or asking where’s the cannabis. In most, if not all fragrances related to cannabis, patchouli is the accord or fragrance that they use to give that feeling. I thought that was common knowledge. As soon as I saw the name of the fragrance I looked for the patchouli in the note breakdown and when smelling the fragrance. This is a patchouli and cedar fragrance with some light spices. I can see how someone would compare this to Aventus but I wouldn’t compare the two. Aventus has a fresh opening and sweeter undertone. This reminds me More of molecule 01 with an added patchouli note. I like it but just like the other two fragrances I just mentioned I’m not in love with it.

patchouli so intense it almost smells like wormwood at first blush. when it calms down, it's earthy, herbal, and mossy with a pleasant woodiness. there's a touch of sweetness from the florals, a little hit of spice from the pepper, and the subtle bergamot enhances the green freshness. somehow it's got both a moist mineraly moss scent and a powderiness from the wood, simultaneously wet and dry, clean and dirty. fades off to a sweet, citrusy and peppery patchouli i do like this but i can't see myself wearing it very often. i think it's a bit too intense and weird for my day to day wear and patchouli just isn't my style

I am a citizen of a country where cannabis (or weed) is illegal. I have never encountered it before, and I am not sure if this is the scent of cannabis. However, I find it to be quite refreshing and a nice scent. It starts with a spicy black pepper and fresh citrus scent, and then it smells like freshly cut grass. People in my country describe it as the scent of high-end hotel amenities. It doesn't feel overtly sexy or alluring, but it does give off a harmless and clean impression, so I think it'll get a favorable review.

sounds a little backwards but I sought this fragrance out seeking an alternative to DedCool 04. I've had issues with two separate bottles and with DedCool and as much as I LOVE 04, I am not spending money and wasting product due to their defective packaging. I really like Cannabis. I think it's extremely similar, it's just missing that deep, spicy incense note which I am just going to try and add back in through layering. Definitely will be purchasing a full bottle.

This is bergamot, softened by some magnolia. The overall feel I get from this one immediately is definitely citrus. Simple, inoffensive, clean, borderline boring scent. Musky citrus with a bit of magnolia is what it is. In the dry down the patchouli becomes more prominent, the type of patchouli I get in Coco Noir (not to imply that Cannabis is anywhere near as interesting and alluring as Coco Noir) Where is the cannabis?

The name really threw me off because I was expecting a skanky herbal scent and it’s nothing like this!! I don’t even know why it’s called cannabis but there is something remotely like weed in this scent. Instead it’s a fresh, classy, spicy/citrus scent. Predominantly bergamot and sandalwood, with a bit of pepper. Suits a sophisticated man in the office.

Thought this would be a novelty scent, but I find it wearable and lovely. A fragrance that smells like the of a memory of a father.. Leather couch, faint herby smokiness, and a resiny wood. I'm a lady, a girly-girl actually.. and still enjoy this woody men's fragrance. Takes you on a bit of a journey. (A short one, none of my M+G last long.)

I really do not know what to say about this one, because it changed after a few months. At first it was a gorgeous, well-blended citrus-wood-patchouli-peppery scent that over time has gotten completely taken over by the black pepper. The bottle is half empty and the black pepper is the only thing I can smell right now.

I like ittt. It is a wet, simple, green scent. Smells kind of like a bisexual dude that still prefers women but can take pleasuring from men once in a while. refreshing!! Yet, it has nothing to do with cannabis, which is a plus. Wtf would I want to smell like weed like?!

This falls at the intersection of sexy, appealing, and boring. Probably a safe masculine fragrance, but I wear it as a woman on days when I'm in jeans and a tshirt. Smells like your imaginary boyfriend who fixes motorcycles and is non-threateningly muscular.

One of those you like it or you don't fragrances. Clean patchoulli and fresh woods nothing much but good for year round something a little different to other every day mass appealing fragrances. leans masculine imo but still true unisex

It smells like sweet, soapy, green grass. Very light spring flowers underneath. I don't smell cannabis, and it's surprisingly clean to my nose. I do like it. A bright springtime green.

Peppery, citrusy, and fresh. There was this odd powdery note in the opening that was almost savory and unpleasant to my nose, but that faded quick. Very nice.

Bitter, grassy, earthy. Indeed the smell of a herbal apothecary. Kind of interesting but unfortunately fades out very fast. Very niche.

I write my reviews for my own future reference, and test blindly, not researching or looking up the name, notes, etc. till writing down my first impressions. An aqua tone with some spice, like a pool with too much chlorine? Fresh, clean, green and kind of soapy in the middle. I'm testing these blindly, but there's only six and this is number four. It isn't strawberry, and I don't think it's cannabis, so it must be the other one? Nope! It's cannabis. Really? On a second wearing, ok, kinda more green than watery, but still relatively clean and fresh from opening to dry down. I'm not a cannabis expert, but this smells far from my experiences. Even those of the living and breathing plant itself (if that is what they are going for). And it's far, far from skunky weed or kind Oregon bud, if that is what you were hoping for. Personally, I have no romantic feelings towards what cannabis smells like, so this is throwing me off being as crisp, spicy and light green as it is. Later, as it dries down - sure - you could argue an air of cannabis herbaceousness. It's in there (I guess), but I don't think anyone is ever going to call it out, ever. I'm still getting soapy green over anything else. Looking at the notes now, they seem more reflective. I might suggest lime more than bergamot. I think they should have gone with a different name. It's too green and fresh for "cannabis", while those who might really like the scent probably wouldn't even go for it based on the name alone. Sillage and longevity was similar to their bergamot one, moderate at first but closer to a skin scent with a few hours and a just barely noticeable afterthought a few hours after that. Nothing I don't like, but doesn't really excite me either.

Most cannabis fragrances are a huge disappointment, not only in terms of accuracy (I've never smelled one that accurately smells of any flower I've ever sniffed) and two, because why the fuck do you want to smell like cannabis anyway? I get that it's a personal preference thing, but I really don't want to wear a perfume which smells that way. It's not that I don't like the smell of cannabis, far from it, nor is it because I'm not fascinated by the technical feat of making an accurate cannabis accord, I am. In fact, I'm looking to make a decent weed accord just to prove that it's possible. I'm surprised no one has to date because many of the terpines and flavanoid chemicals are also used in perfumery like Limonene, carophylenes, etc.... and common cannabis flower facets like citrus, piney, skunky, cheese, gassy, even leather and earthy spicy tones, all things achievable with many of the same chemicals, so come on perfumers....there's no excuse. So is this one any good at capturing the scent of weed? No where near!!! Sorry Malin and Goetz but you haven't even managed that trope we've seen from a few brands (Bois 1920 being the only on I can think of right now) which yes do indeed smell like cannabis, but I would say more like vegetative cannabis, which has quite a pungent greeness, and offputtingly, spicy, dark, hashish smell to it. They've (not this brand or perfume remember) nailed that to be fair, but that's even less desirable than smelling like the flowers to me. Anyway back to this perfume and it's a kinda sweet, slightly herbal (crucially NOT 'erbal) , nothing of a perfume. It's not unpleasant by any means but it doesn't capture the brief in any way. I'm baffled.

I wish I hadn’t read the reviews on here before trying because the initial citrus blast that is the beginning reminds me of lemon Lysol wipes now. It’s an almost artificial citrus scent that’s quite sharp. This then mellows out into a more herbal woodsy with a more balanced citrus note. I get the name. They’re recreating notes in cannabis flower so you get that initial punch of citrus and then some herbal stuff beneath. But cannabis flower has more funk, which this fragrance does not have. My issue is that it’s not that interesting. It smells like a standard unassuming cologne.

Cannabis in perfumery seems to just be a camphoric wood note, a bright green bergamot note and a load of patchouli, which makes for a nice scent, but doesn't really approximate the flower very well. For that I suspect you'd need some pre-IFRA civet or something similar to get that dank animaliac funk of fresh flower in bloom, and I suspect it would be far less wearable. This is no different from that formula, although the magnolia does give it a nice brightness.

Definitely expected this one to reek based on the name (it doesn't) although apparently it doesn't smell like 'what cannabis is supposed to smell like' at all. I wouldn't be able to tell, haven't smelled any other cannabis fragrances. This one however, is a very green field of grass in the summer, coated in a layer of citrus. I find it slightly more masculine leaning due to its upfront 'freshness'.

What I imagine is the cannabis note in this (patchouli) is kind of muddy... dank...If it's cannabis it's the cannabis I bought in Virginia from my roommate's friend in college. Come on guys, weed is sold in iPod stores now, let's brighten this up. Dries down to a pleasant enough lemon pepper men's cologne.

I think this would be great for a lone walk in the woods or an evening in by the fireplace. I just can’t see wearing this in a group of people — it’s bound to offend *someone* with its obvious cannabis note. Citrusy enough to be nonlinear, but it’s no masterpiece either. Enjoyable but not my favorite.

A straightforward woody scent - it did not stand out to me much, really. I've received compliments on it hours after spraying it, so curious enough to give it another go in the future to see if it appeals to me more than before.

Smells like a dab pen lol. It is fitting if you like that scent. A bit woody and masculine. Surprisingly long wear compared to others from Malin+Goetz. Dont love it or hate it and I don't reach for it tbh. 4/10

There is 5-10% intersection with how cannabis smells. Name aside, it’s an ok fresh/woodsy scent with not too intense patchouli! For me it is just ok, not generic but it didn’t excite me.

It smells at first like disinfectant and then dries down and smells like pure cardamom . It’s ok but smells like most generic men’s shower gels

not bad, but pretty boring. smells like a generic mens cologne. reminds me of axe body spray or a highschool gym locker room.

Spicy woods and patchouli. Has a menthol like quality to it that makes it cooling. It's interesting but not terrible.
