Black Intensitive Aoud

This will be a honest review, i did not see a proper review on this, i did blind buy this. my taste in perfumes : spicy, woody, clean(shower gel), incense not my taste : floral, fruity, sweet, green stating my taste so you may understand the perspective i am reviewing from. in short this perfume is a clean rose perfume with some spicy and woody notes. Mancera gold intesitive aoud is almost similar to this but that one has a sharper rose note, and very less woody notes. what you get from this perfume is a very airy rose scent with some clean shower gel scent and to counter this is a woody and spicy scent. sounds overwhelming right, no its not! the mixture is of high quality they are both balanced very well that the rose scent is not too sharp nor the woody scent is not too pungent. the oud in this is very mild and takes more of a ambery woody scent instead. arabic people might not like it as they tend to prefer harsher rose and oud notes. i am not a fan of floral nor do i like unisex perfumes as i am very manly in my approach and characteristic, but this perfume is soo soothing and well balanced it gets you into a zen mode. performance i would say is above average but its definitely not a monster frag bomb like spice bomb extreme as it is more longer lasting and more projecting than this, this perfume creates a smaller scent bubble but does last long enough. as a final note the dry down gets more and more pleasing over time as it becomes powdery and woody. a very good mixture. not a blind buy for people who only like freshies, but for those who like warmer scents this is really quite a safe scent, you can wear this on summer, since it has a airy rose and shower gel scent that is pleasant

#479 in my "Tour de Fragrance" This one is a gem. Got it as a manufacturer sprayette from Twisted Lily and I have ordered a full bottle. From the notes I wasn't expecting to love this fragrance as much as I do. I'm always wary of rose notes giving off the dreaded "granny vibe", but even a woman who trashes the notion of rose scents as "grandma juice" complimented this fragrance. I generally have found chili pepper a no go because of my own sensitivity to nightshades, but no problem. This stuff projects (four different people noticed it from several feet away) even with just a couple of short sprays. Lasts on skin 6-8 hours, on clothes all day through. This is a very smooth and creamy scent. The oud is a note, not a crescendo in this mildly sweet and spicy wood fragrance where Oud is just part of the symphony, not even first chair. A woman could wear this to work. Not sure I could. But this is definitely a date scent from the reaction I was getting. And it's reasonably priced. But I don't blind buy oud scents as a rule and I didn't this time. The sprayettes of this from Twisted Lily are $4, so no need to blind buy this one only to find out you like it less than I do.

it is totally unisex, especially for people from Middle east and Subcontinent. it starts with rose mixed with sugar and sprinkled with saffron. it is a heavy smell with a topping of spices. this stays for a very long time and you'll smell it with the outburst of florals in the middle. it gets powdery with time but in its DNA there is rose + Oud + hint of woods. the woods are not in your face and it has this subtle presence. the projection in the first 2 to 3 hours is huge. later it settles close to skin but longevity is perfect, over 8 hours. it is a lovely scent. you can get away with this even in air conditioned offices during summers. perfect for night and cold conditions. LAYERING: if you dont like the soapy opening, layer it leafy Najdia (lattafa). this will make the opening sweet (Invictus bubblegum with a touch of leaf).

Lovely best mode restrained honeyed floral start (mainly rose but with some traces of violet) which reminded me of... wait, I have never smelled anything like this before. This juice shas a killer sillage about it, a creamy feel, with a polished sandalwood backing. Black Intensive Aoud wears smooth on my skin – the oud is not not really intensive at all as I hoped it would be, but a gentle backing player rounding things off. Black Intensive Aoud gives an impression of great sleekness despite its soft and ample bosom of roses, cream and sandalwood. It may be a bit too derivative for some but it’s an absolute silky pleasure to wear. Anything more than two sprays will make you smell like a street walker. That’s how beautiful people suppose to smell – Divine!

Starts off reasonably sharp and potent, but dries down to a more feminine scent. A little too feminine for my personal taste, but could work if layered with a more manly fragrance, or if worn on its own by someone who likes feminine scents. What does the made up word "Intensitive" mean anyway? Intensely sensitive? Tensely sensitive? Sensitively intense? Sensitively intensive? Only Pierre Montale knows...

Well I have to disagree with the previous reviews. This is an extraordinary complex fragrance. It start with a great honeyed floral and citrusy start followed by a complex floral/powdery scent. All throughout the experience there is a very subtle combination of sandalwood and a very mild oud. unisex in my opinion. Longevity on my skin is over 5 hours.

I agree with the last review that mentions it smelling like baby shampoo. This stuff is pretty powerful when it comes to sillage and longevity is eternal as with most manceras. This is my 4th mancera and probably my least favorite but I still do like it. 7.5/10. Edit: this is growing on me. It has a clean metallic smell. Not very strong with the oud.

I love the fragrance, but I don't think it's all that masculine. I personally love it! It's a stand out fragrance that will overpower a room. The sweetness and the rosiness are breath taking. Can't wait to show it off at work. (I'm a dude btw)

really like the opening and middle, heavy sillage and moderate longevity, but drydown after 4 hours smells bad. i will continue to test it, maybe first time was misleading.

This is a beast scent and it’s going to earn you more compliments than your designer shoes

This fragrance is called Black INTENSITIVE Aoud and NOT Black Intensive Aoud.

Very similar to Oud Ispahan but a bit dryer and less silage.

So the Intensive Aoud series were the first creation from Pierre Montale-Mancera. Has to be the same guy right? Anyway this is much more sweeter than the normal Montale offerings with less focus on aoud. The aoud is lightly noticeable as IMO it has a creamy buttery touch due to the addition of sandalwood as well. I bought decants of this and Mancera Aoud Line at the same time. Me being a sucker for raspberries I bought Aoud Line but this is no slouch. It can be overwhelming for most guys but I prefer my oud with some sweetness not the medicinal oud that we are used to. Overall I give this a 7.5 as it has the usual Montale longevity and sillage but as I mentioned, I prefer the raspberry note in Aoud Line. Off topic, some other favorite raspberry frags are Soivohle Raspberries & Pepper, Cape Heartache and Diesel FFL.

mi aspettavo qualcosa di intensamente orientale, come lasciava presupporre il suo nome, ma l'effetto è un bel po' diverso. le note iniziali, molto dolci benchè agrumate e fruttate, ricordano, come qualcuno ha giustamente notato, il Turkish delight, con un fondo di sandalo. nessuna traccia, per il mio naso, di chiodi di garofano tantomeno di peperoncino; lieve il tono di cannella. l'evoluzione si assesta su un sentore di rosa (io lo zafferano proprio non lo percepisco) caramellata, su uno sfondo legnoso. l'insieme non è affatto sgradevole, beninteso, ma nulla che ci si potesse aspettare dal nome che è davvero fuorviante. l'oud? non pervenuto!

Amazing perfume... It is a statement maker and has elegance about it. I love perfumes that give me a rich and elegant vibe and this definitely does. I love it but I love Gold Intensitive Aoud more... but still I like this though it reminds me of the smell of my Uncle's wife :P She has a similar signature scent. Performance is great and works well in cold weather. To be honest, the people are overly afraid from Oud but it can be done gorgeously and this is an example. I will not get it just because it smells like the wife of my uncle hehe

Just got this in today. I wasn’t expecting any certain thing scent wise. I was just wanting a nice Oud scent, and since Mancera is my favorite Niche house I went with this one. This one opens spicy and a tad sweet, it quickly dries to a nice slightly sweet floral and rose with Oud overshadowing it all. It combines into a Ambery type scent. I’m actually digging this one. Completely satisfied with this purchase it’s simply just a nice fragrance for everyone. Solid hit here Mancera.

For me, the experience of Mancera Black Intensitive Aoud is similar to Montale Black Aoud but not nearly as interesting, due to the minimality of the rose that is otherwise strong in Black Aoud. Black Intensitive Aoud, by contrast, involves mostly oud, but also some other woods with a hint of rose. Nothing terribly special, not offensive but not intriguing either. 6 out of 10

Pleasant and leaning towards feminine. I could smell peach and chili in the top notes, and jasmine and rose in the heart notes. This perfume won't offend anyone. Reminds me of a much lighter J'Adore Absolue. The drydown is less floral and leans towards sandalwood. All in all it's a nice fragrance that's neither boring nor too floral.

This is a beast.. I sprayed once and it lasted 24 hours on my skin.. I took a shower after 12 hours and after that it ladt almost 8 hour on skin.. I have to rub it off.. The smell is bit sweet for my taste..will a buy a full bottle? I font think so.. But if u guys in search for a beast mode perfume u guys can give it a try

Just got this in today. Extremely Ambery and oudy. I get hints of leather in the opening as well. Reminds me of Rihanahs Velvet Amber Oud. It has a barbershop like quality to it that I will enjoy. I believe it will truly shine in the cooler/colder weather.

In my skin opening fragrance at first glance is like Johnson's classic baby shampoo (old formula) and the color of the juice is also similar to that shampoo. but after a few seconds, there was an aroma like the fruity fragrance in energy drinks. For the rose oud perfume category, this perfume tends to smell more like rose than oud. When it enters the dry down stage (base notes) there is an aroma like nectarine nectar smell, perhaps what is meant is peach and combined with leather and metallic. I'm confused about why this perfume is said to be similar to Tiziana Terenzi GRO, even though this perfume is very different even though there are slight similarities, namely the fragrance of rose oud women's perfume. For me, if I was asked to compare Tiziana Terenzi GRO with this, I would probably choose this (Mancera BIA) because even though both have the impression of a feminine perfume, this perfume is still acceptable for men because the warm spicy, woody oud is still stronger than the rose scent. This is different from Tiziana Terenzi GRO which has a more "rosy" impression and the warm spicy woody oud fragrance seems to be drowned out by the rose fragrance. However, when compared to Crazy for Oud, I prefer Crazy for Oud. Rating 8.3/10

I haven't touched or revisited my bottle for at least 2-3 years but the beast entity strength of this frag has burned & etched it's memory in my brain forever. The initial spray still reminds me do much to this day of DEP hair gel brand from the 80's which was my go to hair gel that i used to achieve the wet spikey look. I know i'm embarrassing myself by showing my age with this emphatic claim but it must be said. Anybody who used that brand of gel back in that era knows what I'm talking about. This is the exact smell of BIAM i kid you not...with a metallic saffron rose undertone that comes through later in the middle/heart notes stage. It's a pretty linear nuclear scent, maybe it's about time to revisit it & see if years of maceration has changed it even the slightest...but i'll make sure to ease up on the atomizer & spray it just once otherwise i'll die of suffocation. Yes my bottle has the screw type cap on. Bring on the good ol' 80s throwback teen memories back again...new wave Depeche Mode look here we come! 👨🏻🎤😎🤘🏻

Very strong oud, smells like something burned mixed with lemon, soap and benzoin ( headache triggers ). The scent is nice and well done but more for a man. I think a woman couldn’t handle this (although I am unisex driven) It’s everything except subtile and soft. Loudddd!!! I am very glad I sampled it first as it was very attractive to buy it blind with such discount (50 euros!). Don’t do it ladies, don’t buy this blind. Joseffgabriel was right about this one, only a hairy medaillon man can handle this scent. 5/10

This has that harsh oud that montale is known for using. It’s a little too harsh for my nose, but it’s still a good fragrance. Edit; Coming back to this after 5 weeks... seems less astringent... a little less harsh to the nose, but still definitely not a smooth fragrance. It smells very spicy and middle eastern. It’s good, but not great. It doesn’t speak to me, it doesn’t offer anything especially unique or special to me. It is just a pleasant spicy middle eastern frag. Amazing for the price though

July / 2025 I got this today it has been reformulated not as strong as used to be! you can barely smell it. Opening very similar to mancera black line and black aoud this type of scent then around 30 minutes will dry down to hair spray smells.

Very very strong and powerful oud oil that smells like many other manceras/montales. It’s good, not great. I’m an oversprayer, and this is one in my collection where I don’t go more than 3 sprays

On my skin this smells like oud and sweet gingerbread with a sandalwood base. It reminds me a lot of Night Oud by Micallef. I have to say that I'm rather disappointed that this is how it smells since my sample kept wafting sillage that smelled of powdery roses and soft oud. Where the heck did that rose note go? It disappeared as soon as it hit my skin, unfortunately. Nice, but not what I was expecting. I would say this is unisex and gourmand smelling. Not my cup of tea. Hours later what remains is the smell of a toxic black permanent marker and some sort of synthetic spicey sweetness. Honestly horrible to my nose. Sorry, JMHO.

I just received a blind-bought bottle. Big error. To my Western nose, this is not even slightly unisex. The overwhelming note is incredibly sweet Turkish Delight (listed in manufacturer's notes) with some saffron. I can't smell oud at all. This is extremely feminine and there are literally no notes in it which suggest masculinity in a Western context. It cannot be compared to Montale Black Aoud, which although full of rose, retains a truly dark heart due to its rich oud and labdanum basenotes.

Perfume 15, tested on paper, sample A floral-woody fragrance with a creamy, soapy character. At first, for a brief moment, something reminded me of the smell of newspaper and fresh ink. It's not my cup of tea, and it makes me feel slightly nauseous. To me, it smells like oud and a powdery, sweet rose resting on a creamy, milky soap.

Wet faux-leather purse vibes. Smells richly stale. Reminds me of Montale’s Red Vetiver if it were a gnarly soap. Better farther away from the skin. Leans feminine. I’m thinking an old lady who wears too much perfume. It has redeeming qualities but there’s just no reason to wear or own this blend unless you loved a sample.

Opens with a bit of peach then it goes onto this bastard child of aoud queen roses by montale. There is no "intensive oud" there's just a mix of everything it's like a battlefield. Just buy aoud queen roses...

Have sampled 8 mancera fragrances this and windwood is my least favourite they seem to be watered down.

This is extremely feminine and none of the notes vibe with what you smell. It is mostly a jasmine/white floral with some woody qualities. No oud, no rose to be found. To top off the olfactory horror is the fact that there are different notes listed on fragrantica (two listings) and completely different notes listed on Basenotes! I get that things can smell different to different people, but given the discrepancies in notes across platforms, and a clear lack of agreement on what is actually smelled (rose? Are you kidding me??? Spicy???) I can only conclude that this was not a thought out fragrance, and it shows. THIS IS OLD LADIES PERFUME, DEPARTMENT STORE STYLE...I advise not to purchase, test if you want, but this is a dud. P.s. I am a huge Montale/ Mancera fan boy.

IF YOU DON'T LIKE SOAPY don't get this one. I love Mancera; own 8 and plan to buy more, but not this one. I can't figure out which ingredient or blend of ingredients smells like I just took a bite of a bar of handsoap, but it's been over an hour and it's still there, biting my nose and eyes. I know some people like sort of sharp, astringent, fresh and clean scent. Just be sure you are one of those people before you put it on.

I didn't like this one at all. It's still a Mancera quality, still very good projection and amazing silliage but I don't like it one bit. It's way too synthetic to me, from the first spray. The alcohol and sugar only worsen that aspect. It's also leaning towards female scent if you ask me so I couldn't see myself wearing it even if I liked it.

The only Mancera fragrance I would never wear again. The reviews below are correct when they describe "Old Lady Department Perfume". Rose and heavy floral notes have filled my living room with a single spray. There have to be better options out there for this style of fragrance, cause this is a major miss for myself.

Smells like hair spray through the opening and gets a little more tolerable after 30 minutes, where it smells a little soapy on top of the rose/oud combo. Very strong but not my taste.

Ordered directly from Mancera. The juice in my bottle looks pale colored white wine. Is this what everybody else has ? My cap is a screw on cap. I smell spices but also heavy alcohol throughout the drydown. Bogus or reformulated ? Update: I figured it out. MANCERA sent me a counterfeit or at least their distributor did. The name isn't written correctly on the bottle. Actually the word BLACK isn't even on there. Too funny. If you can't order from the company with security then what ? I am sure they will get to the bottom of it but SERIOUSLY this is pathetic. A new low.

Quite floral. My guess is that this is for people who don't know much about fragrances but think oud is the "big thing." However, if they smelled Black Aoud by Montale (at least what I smelled around 2009) they would run for the hills. The name suggests this is the case; I find nothing here "black" or "intensive." It's a cute little oud scent that's on the "feminine" side. If that works for you, great. I've already got a bottle of Alf Lail o Lail/1001 Nights, which is similar but I think I prefer that one over this one.

Blown away with this one! This is a statment maker. Its very bold. Sweeeeeeet woody oud rose combo. Wow 10/10. This is a projection beast it will be intrusive so be careful spraying. If you love to be noticed wear this. This is louder than Black Prestigium. This is like telling everyone around you "smell my perfume" very formal and sexy.

I liked this from the minute I put it on my wrist then 30 minutes later it hit me. It's almost identical to ADP Colonia Assoluta but with more depth better quality ingredients and it lasts much longer. Good clean citrusy cologne that is extremely easy to wear. Too easy for me and not enough SWAG. I don't get any oud in this.

Tried both black and gold and would definitely purchase either in a heartbeat. And as lobster2010 previously mentioned, these are niche fragrances that are resonabley priced. This review was written 2 days after sampling and in that time I've been using the spray card for a book mark....the pages smell very nice indeed.

I've just tried a 2ml sample on my skin, very very spicy, old & middle eastern type of fragrance. spicy, woody, rose, sweet & smoky. for me i won't wear it often, but it's a bit yes for a rotation. the blend is good. it's neither deep nor dark just a bit harsh for me & not a safe blind buy.

Great fragrance, Love the transition from heavy rose oud warm amber opening to a fresh spicy metallic ending, the description is spot on by fragrantica, it's exactly as they described. This is not a beginner scent. Try before you bye

Saffron Oud Rose Warm Vanilla Sugar All composition is smooth warm and clean like it would have touch of aldehydes. AT the moment think its one of the most innovative brands on the market . Quality stunning. X

This smells like Al Rehab Bakhour on me!! Mancera is better quality of course, but if you are on a budget then the al rehab is worth testing. p.s. not sure why there are two listings for this perfume...
