Black Noir

I like this one. This is a soft, sweet, floral leather. It will go perfectly with a high end sweater and a well made suede jacket, not the bad boy vibe motorcycle style leather jacket fragrance like Tuscan Leather or Gucci Guilty Absolute (these two don't smell alike but give similar vibes to each other in terms of ruggedness). Black Noir is a three season fragrance, fall, winter and spring, once you're in summer you can switch to it's lighter sister fragrance from Montale, Oud Island, which is basically a fresher take on the same scent composition. Black Noir has a calming effect, not a wow effect, think of it as a Ombre Leather Parfum, not EDP approach. My favorite leather frags will include this one alongside Ombre Leather EDP, Montale Oud Leather, PDM Godolphin, and Dunhill Agar Wood, among others. This one however, is maybe my favorite suede scent. Performance is very good, it lasts a long time, but this does not have Red Tobacco, Sauvage Elixir, or Amouage Interlude style of performance, it's a long lasting leather style of performance. No relation to Boss Bottled Absolu, or Boss Elixir (any of them). No grandma vibes unless she's riding big Harley weaving through traffic like a demon, in which case that's fantastic, but even then, probably she'd be wearing Tuscan Leather and not this one.

#650 in my "Your de Fragrance" Film Noir is characterized by pessimism, fatalism and an air of menace. The 1976 version of "Farewell My Lovely" with Robert Mitchum as Philip Marlowe and Charlotte Rampling channeling Lauren Becall is probably my all-time favorite. Noir scents don't invoke those feelings in me but I do like the earthy, musky, smoky character of noir scents, the 180 degree opposite of bright, airy citrus freshies. Mancera has hit it out of the park with this one! Got this as a sprayette to try it out and definitely will be getting a full bottle. This is deliciously leathery, woody, oudy, ambery, like many Mancera scents, but the pink pepper, tiare and vetiver are really what makes this pop! Not boozy like TF Tobacco Oud, or rosy like Noir de Noir, but otherwise shares the nice aspects of each, is long lasting and provides strong projection. So maybe don't inflict it on the carpool. But if you go easy you can get away with this anywhere. Would be great in any outdoor setting. I expect lots of interest and compliments on this one.

Wow! This is definitely going into the fall rotation this year and date night fragrances. Opens up with hints fresh citrusy spicy notes but immediately dissipates into a creamy woody, leather and tobacco with florals in the far background. I definitely get the Oud and it goes together so well with the leather and tobacco notes. However it’s undeniably a leather fragrance through and through. By far one of the more mass appealing Manceras on the market and one id consider a safe blind buy if you like masculine fragrances such as D&G the one edt, Ombré Leather, and DHP. However this is definitely its own fragrance and doesn’t smell like the ones mentioned, they just have a similar style and some similarities. Personally I feel like it’s unisex that without a doubt leans more masculine. These are just my initial thoughts and first impressions. I definitely recommend this one so far though.

Wow... just wow, this was an impulsive blind buy and let me just say this, I don't regret anything. This is one of the best blind buys I've ever had. The moment you spray this, you are greeted by this pleasantly sweet vanilla leathery smell, and as it dries down it gives me that boozy feeling that it's honestly to die for, but that feeling does not last forever though, I wish it did. The boozy-ness starts turning more into a floral smell, kind of as if Ombre Leather and Velvet Orchid by Tom Ford had a baby, that's how I would describe the dry down. Long story short, amazing perfume, 10/10.

Sweet, gentle, dry fragrance... it's like clouds in a bottle. This gives me a powdery feel; the tobacco is dry and very soft with a high dose of vanilla. It’s yummy, like rubbing your face with flavored marshmallows or fluffy vanilla frosting. All in all, it's beautiful and delicious, leaning more towards the feminine side, and that's not a problem for me... I would still wear it and eat myself! Very strange comments below... Boss, Tom Ford, tobacco, leather, oud... bla bla. This fragrance is sweet, dry, and fluffy to the MAX... I love it... perfect before bedtime! 🧁🍦🍡🛏🌛🌠☁️

I've just received this so haven't had a lot of time to test. Upon initial Spray on paper this was a 100% no for me but once I sprayed it on skin it almost instantly became a 100% yes. It reminds me of three of my favorite fall winter fragrances all perfectly blended together and made more wearable. If you took the booze and floral notes from Tom Ford Black Orchid parfum mixed the tobacco and osmanthus from Carolina Herrera Mystery Tobacco with the vanilla and the slightest touch of incents from Amouage Interlude Black Iris it's absolutely beautiful.

Very, very heavy on the leather and pepper. This was not a blind buy since I tried many Mancera fragrances on the store and finally got this one but it turned out to be much darker than I expected. And I mean it in the best way possible. The vanilla note is very subtle, just to give a sweet context but the theme here is leather, spice, smoke and wood. Is a lovely scent, just not something to wear on a hot weather since it may be too strong for some. 8.5/10 if you love darker fragances with a little sweet side on the end.

Absolutely stunning. One of Mancera’s best and refined. The blend here is what really stands out to me as it’s a very smooth wearing scent. It doesn’t have any surprises or left turns but it does what it’s trying to do amazingly. Leather, vanilla, tobacco, and just a teeny tiny tinge of skank from the patchouli and oud. No change really from minute 1 to hour 8. It’s a deep, alluring, nocturnal scent that lasts for ages and isn’t cloying in the least. The only knock I’ll give it is that it’s not a young man’s fragrance.

musky, dark and mysterious; in an interesting, fun, and exciting way. black leather, but not in the way that it smells, rather it smells the way a nice fitted black leather jacket looks. the darkness is balanced out by florals that make sure it doesn’t steer too far in one direction . Smells like a black and white celine or balmain ad, chic punk. unisex for sure, could see a female model with smoky eyeshadow wearing this, or a guy with a neutral toned outfit on; blacks , greys , and whites. very fashionable smell.

Did a 180 on this after revisiting it recently I panned it pretty bad, and truth be told I don't think I was in the 'mood' for it (if that makes sense). So I deleted my first review, and I am probably going to pick up a bottle. Decent leather note, balanced florals, and great performance. Priced very approachably on discounters. Good overall value, and one that I'll wear a lot in fall/winter.

Don't get the oud. Barely any tobacco or patchouli. I get a soft creamy leather with a touch of sweetness. Nothing "black" about it. Picked up the 2oz bottle for $60. Glad to add it to the collection. Great fragrance. While a great performer, i find it soft for a mancera. Easy wear. Looking forward to wearing it on colder days. Hope to try Black Gold and Black Prestigium soon.

StoneEagle06 is spot on with their review, but I read it as a great fragrance. Not very dark considering the notes. Unique, leather vanilla scent, but not really a sweet vanilla and the tobacco is smooth and tame. It's a 9/10 fragrance - 10/10 if the projection and longevity were a little better. Often on sale for less than $80 this is a no-brainer.

I like this one, it has a soft leather note that's not typical, with a lavender and a freshness that balances it out, an oud that isn't abrasive and a vanilla that makes it work. It's not rugged leather, more of a sophisticated leather but playful and sexy at the same time. Really smooth, really unique and definitely a winner IMO.

It is glorious. I respect NeroliCannoli's opinion about it's performance not meeting his expectations but the scent is perfect cold weather wear and I find performance to be beast for about 45min before dialing down to a normal level on par with many other fragrances. I could smell it all night, I was happy.

This is just wonderful. It's a very elegant scent for gentlemen who can appreciate it. It's soft and pleasant to the nose. It smells dark but not gothic. You'll just smell like an elegant person with refined taste. You can wear it anywhere, anytime, but it suits cold weather and nighttime better.

This is a gorgeous fragrance. Only thing is it isn't like most manceras. Fragrance isn't super loud and doesn't last a super long time. Either way i still enjoy it. 8.5/10. As far as performance goes for a mancera it isn't that great but the scent profile is one of the best from the brand.

Absolute Stunner! Red Tobacco is still my favorite...but I've tried so many Mancera's based on the hype & not blown away...The Black Noir is Amazing! Bought this for an absolute steal during FB Anniv sale...$47 Terrific Leather with lots of other complex notes...it's Incredible!

Nothing dark here! It is soft sweet aoud or aoud mixed with sweet like caramel. Easy fragrance to wear it remind me of silver blue by mancera. it is loud but not heavy because of the sweet note come through. Can hardly smell leather or tobacco.

Dark leather, smooth tobacco, subtle vanilla, and a touch of oud. Sits rather close-to-skin for a mancera fragrance, but is great nontheless. Reminds me a tiny bit of Happy Oud by Zimaya (though this adds more to the DNA). 9.4/10 imo.

Smells pretty similar to oud island. All the other comparisons aren't close at all. I don't get much tobacco but i do get a sweet black leather. Fantastic scent profile. Performance isn't beast mode but it is above average. 9/10

Very clean and aromatic leather smell on the opening, room filler, becomes sweeter and more enjoyable as it dries down, I get some spiciness as well and some balsam from it, it's got amazing performance and projection

This one is wonderful tbh from what i smelled it’s sweet leather hardly any tobacco really, it smells kinda like a bubble gum ngl it's a great casual night out type of scent pretty strong performance too.

Two sprays from the little sample bottle and this fragrance is BLACK. Black leather so dark it's closer to burnt rubber. This would be a great fall/winter fragrance. I dig it.

Money is tight but this fragrance with chilly weather, chef's kiss! Even Homelander would say it's perfect!

A very well blended sweet and warm leather scent. What a banger.

Perfect date night fragrance for cooler weather.

This seems quite subdued on my skin, at least upon the first few spritzes. Either it's a jumbled mess or a well-blended perfume because nothing sticks out. It's got some undefined sweetness, some undefined soapiness, some aromatics typical of Mancera (the ones found in Wind Wood or Hindu Kush for example). The only thing I could pinpoint, though not without some effort, were the white florals, which are the most prominent part of the opening, just slightly more noticeable at times, and lasting for quite some time. In the dry down, the leather finally comes out (after two hours or so), and it's giving me the vibe of leathers of the olden days, different from these modern Tom Ford-ish ones - something about it screams classic/classy. So I'd say it's a white floral / leather classic symphony in which the leather is the conductor guiding a young and eager tiare violinist. Still, they both end up drowned in the rest of the orchestra where from time to time someone bangs on the cymbals too loud then retreats (aromatics), then the oboist misses a note and retreats (sweetness), and so forth. Ultimately a good one, but a bit subdued so far. I've had Tesori d'Oriente's Vaniglia e Zenzero del Madagascar on the same arm, and here and there I'd get a whiff of some magical vanillic leather. Made me wish vanilla was amped up in Black Noir.

Opening is smoky black leather with pink pepper. Dry down the tiare flower and oud. I dont get tobacco to my nose. Vetiver is very close to skin. In the end its a very linear scent of smoky black leather with an ever slight vanilla that is not sweet nor cloying. Its subtle and breaks up the smoky roughness This is like Ombre Leather's dirty cousin. Also reminds me of Alexansria Fragrances "Unthethered" which is an Ombre Leather variation with alot lf incense vibe to it. This is a smokier, dirtier black leather. Far less floral with oud and tiare being center stage. After a few hours what remains is a ashy subtle leather. Almost cigarette like. Sillage is great and the scent lasts 8-10 on my skin. Much longer than ombre leather. If you like ombre but want it dirty and smoky, Black Noir is perfect.

Beside this being the mother of all inappropriate naming, Black Noir is actually a really nice scent. With a name like “Black Black” you’d be expecting this to be dark. But what you get is a tropical tiare flower that smells of sweet vanillic coconut sunscreen blended with a subtle fake leather accord. I don’t get any tobacco at all. From the atomizer you will get a bandaid, medicinal vibe from the Oud, but on skin this smells delightful. I could imagine this coming from a white Tom Ford bottle. Black Noir is actually a pretty good fragrance, but whoever marketed this thing as Black was playing a joke. This smells like a tropical vacation.

This is underrated. A sweetish velvet leather with white florals and subtle synthetic tobacco. Bordeline bubblegum vibes in the mid. Opening may be Unisex leaning fem a tick, but drydown is very pleasant and leans masculine as it dries. I wasn't initially impressed, but the wearing experience is really nice. A pleasant blind buy surprise. Performance is good, not a beast, but longevity is about right for this profile. 8 hours or more. This smells literally nothing like boss bottled absolu. 8/10.

This is quite good. The initial spray is a VERY strong leather, which is almost waxy, that subsides pretty quickly. After a minute or so, the vanilla and pipe tobacco comes forward and the leather steps back. It’s somewhat warm, somewhat sweet, somewhat spicy, somewhat earthy, somewhat soapy. I don’t really get wood or oud, but I do get most of these notes. This has good longevity, like a solid 8 hours on my skin. Can’t wait to break this out in the cold winter weather.

Pink pepper and Tiare flower are the mainplayers in this fragrance if you ask me. I am a bit surprised that most people vote for tobacco.. because it is noticeable but not that good. Unisex in my opinion. It is not very unique. Just a nice scent to have in your collection, but if you don’t have it in your collection your life isn’t over. Edit: it is pretty sexy actually. I think you should try this one out to decide if your collection needs this one. I am happy with it!

Interesting one. I'd consider this a leather fragrance at heart, but unlike others in the category, the leather note is balanced with a floralesque note. While I'm generally not a fan of florals in fragrances, the duality of the leather and floral notes is intriguing. The leather is actually fairly rugged, similar to what you might find in something like Gucci Guilty Absolute. Meanwhile, the floral aspect balances things out in a unique way. Worth trying.

I have no idea why people are comparing this to tobacco oud?? Huh?? Maybe the opening which I get a spiced leather( which I wish stuck around longer) After the opening the tiare flower note takes over, which makes this extremely unisex at some point it feels like it leans feminine. I get zero tobacco, tonka or vanilla. I will have to wear this a bit more to get a better feel for it.

Got a sample. Was very sweet and vanilla opening for me - 10/10 Turned leathery, a slight warm spice, then the tobacco came through and is almost like a softer Red Tobacco, not as in your face with some added sweetness. 7.5/10 overall.

I have dekant and I tried, not wearing yet and I like it but It's a very sweet opening almost bubblegumy. It's a sweet Lethery scent with little Oud touch and for me have more feminine leaning.

smells like tom ford's ombre leather edp, but with a slight sweetness in the background. good leather scent. I wouldn't use it in hot days as it might get cloying.

Nose Note #972 Without digging into the scent I don't mind it, smells alright in the sillage, but upclose, man, it's bothering me. This quasi-leather accord feels way too sweet and the worst part is that it's mixed in with some flowers. I'm really turned off by this leather-flower combo. Or you could say it fruity, not flowery - the problem is, this facet on top of leather is unclear and it's really annoying. Makes it a bit of a mess overall. And this rubber thing some people are writing about - yeah, I sort of get it. I think people take this sweet leather-flower combo for greasy rubber. Brr, I don't like it upclose at all Unisex leaning masculine. Performance is strong as always with Mancera. 5.5/10, smells messy

Foolishly ordered looking at just notes and Mancera name. Expected dark heavy winter scent and this is very floral heavy, masculine leaning unisex to me. Longevity and sillage are great, like most of their scents, but not what I want to smell like. Thought I got scammed until read other reviews. So glad I just went with a 2oz.! 😕

There is a weird smell in this, some sort of rose or creaminess i cant describe... Definitely does not make this as mysterious and masculine as people say. There are better manceras than this... not saying this is bad but it definitely let me down. 6/10 overall review. its alright i guess.

On my skin, I waited and waited for interest to develop. Alas, it stayed uninspired. A salty mish mash of notes. What might have been. It’s very masculine, I would question the man’s taste in fragrances who wore it. Pierre Montale has run out of creativity. It’s a tired ordinary thing which sits broods and grieves. Now I’m happy for all who enjoy and celebrate its notes. I’m passing it on to a man I can never like!! 😅

I have Infinity from Montale, it has nearly the same sweet and spicy vibe with a dominant vanilla. A delicious scent for those not used to Montale and Mancera, with many similar scents that share the same DNA and are really hard to define. I find this scent unrecognizable and definitely not unique, even though it's a crowdpleaser. Longevity and sillage are rather poor.
