Blue Aoud

I swear, I don't see where all these negative reviews are coming from! This is why I take fragrantica reviews with a grain of salt. Dry rose oud with leather, that's what I'm getting from this in the beginning! This is a similar accord to my favorite part of Franck Olivier's Oud Touch, which is a clone of Dior Isphan. This is AWESOME! Upon closer inspection, there is a strong pepper note, but it blends beautifully. And the dry down is some kind of incredible awesomeness that I can't even begin to describe - completely different from the first whiff. Heavy pepper and saffron, but it's bright like a citrus-patchouli scent. HUGE projection and longevity from this one too. You can all take your negative reviews and stuff them where the sun don't shine. I like this one. I mean, I suppose I can see the comparisons to the smell of the old plastic dolls of the 90's... but how is that a bad thing?? When I was a toddler I used to chew on those dolls' faces because of that smell. 3 year old me had no problem with it, and neither does 33 year old me.

Blue Aoud is part of Mancera's Middle East Exclusive release, together with Black to Black and Aoud Sandroses.. I'm guessing the blue in its name suggests freshness as you would be greeted by airy and lively smell upon spray.. It's not aquatic freshness though, but dry and aromatic, more of phenolic type that stays till the dry down and this is what i really enjoy and like about it .. Oud scents are hard to pull off especially during summer but Blue Aoud works well during these days! I tried it yesterday along with Mancera Black Gold , i loved both of them and got Black Gold but i will buy this too after i get my salary Its pretty strong and lasts forever. I sprayed both on my hands , washed my hands for at least 5 times but fragrance was still there . edit : i just couldn't stay away from this & today inspite cash crunch i picked it up... SUPER STRONG and SUPER LASTING and top of it, its limited edition .. i love this BEAST .. being limited edition am happy that not many will have it ...YIPEEEE MANCERA AM IN LOVE WITH YOU !!

Opening is very good in line with almost all mancera perfumes. Opening is fresh aoudi smell if i can make some sense. Although Aoud is not listed but probably woodsy notes and leather are able to produce a spot on aoud nuance. A very wearable aoudi frag. I have mancera 'The Aoud' it has some similarity but The Aoud is so special for me because of lovely aoud, rose, saffron combo. Projection is very good. I can see myself wearing it in all seasons less sunny summer days. Good for aoud lovers.

Opening is harsh and polarizing but the drydown is awesome. I can see why some hate it, it takes time to develop. Ain't nothing blue about this scent but it has some freshness to it. It's leathery, earthy, woody, spicy, and musky. I enjoy it, especially when it's projecting in the air in my scent bubble. I can see this as an office scent for mature men. It's very masculine. Not blind buy safe, niche type of scent with a middle eastern kick.

I dunno what all the negativity is for. It’s a pretty simple frag really. Nothing to hate for sure! It’s not Secretions Magnifique! I for one, am sorry to see this go. It’s a simple, masculine, leathery / plasticky scent that scores extra points for being so unique. A freshie combined with leathery notes is always welcome in my home. Maybe is a little reminiscent of sex toys when new.....🤣 Love it!

I personally like it, it's super unique. It's one of those fragrances i like but won't wear out in public because I feel most people wouldn't enjoy it like I do. Probably the strongest of the 40 manceras I own. It got discontinued some time ago so I probably won't be able to get a bottle. 8/10.

Unfortunately it looks like it has been discontinued. If you can get your hands on this one, Get it... Dont overspray...it a bit strong for that. Two three sprays. This is one of those colognes that comes and goes throughout the day. 8/10 overall for what it is. Nice indeed.

So far, not so good...can't help but think that this reminds me of the smell of new uber-cheap plasticky rubber-ish dolls &/or kids toys...sounds weird but it really does smells weird and not in a good way!...will give it a bit of time to dry down, but the first 20 minutes of this fragrance have been quite nasty...will give an update after a full & proper wearing...stay tuned! **Update: Gave this a full-on proper wear today -- blasting three good sprays to one arm as I relaxed and read a novel for a few hours. The plastic-rubber doll smell mentioned in my earlier post is still there for the most part and that is likely the tarragon note I'm assuming?...not as offensive as I first found it to be but definitely not a pleasant or beautiful smell, perhaps more an acquired like...one that I'm not quite there yet, but MAYBE with a few more wearings I might learn to appreciate this fragrance more??...it really is all about the tarragon and leather notes that predominate from start to finish...the woodsy notes come later on with a little more intensity but it's the tarragon & leather that play the starring role from start to finish. Likely will never be a favourite but could end up being a rare mood thing where I spray only while alone at home for the day??

Sadly no one say that this smell very close if not identical to Mancera the Aoud . Still nice sent and it give impression that the dry down may be little bit different but future tests will tell. Any way nice perfume and if i will not have Man. the Aoud i will be happy with this buy, but i have and now i have two 😒😂😁👍. So every now and then I'll do a blind buy after one of my favorite YouTuber fragrance reviewers recommends it. And I hate to say it but this was a disappointment. I agree with a few of the reviews below. Let me explain... So upon first impressions, I think it smells okay (at best)... It's a very medicinal scent with a slightly spicy undertone. It leans a little more aggressive than smooth. If I could relate the smell to anything else, it reminds me of an opened box of bandaids. It also has this faint smell that reminds me of sharpies. The reason why I say it smells okay at best and not awful is because I can at least still appreciate the theme behind the note breakdown. I do like the fusion of the pepper and cloves in the top. 👍 One morning I took a shower and after getting dressed I sprayed it on me about 4-5 times and went on about my day. I was really curious to see how well it would perform and project. Sure enough, it's a monster in those departments. The performance and longevity are definitely there. I got about an entire day from morning to night in weather of around 65 degrees. But the smell itself. I just can't get past it. It's not a horrible smell and I've definitely smelled worse. But there's nothing about it that would make me hold onto this fragrance and keep it in my collection. My guess is the tarragon note combined with the clove. It just doesn't do well with my body chemistry. If I could swap out that tarragon note with say, bergamot, then it would be a keeper. After purchasing Mancera Blue Aoud, I think I've come to the conclusion that herbal notes in a fragrance (especially in the top) are a no go for me based on past experiences and this one. Mancera creates masterpieces. Not to say that this wasn't a masterpiece in and of itself, just not the masterpiece for me. Scent 6/10 Longevity and Performance 9/10 The house of Mancera will always have my heart nonetheless.

#637 in my "Tour de Fragrance" Got this as a decant from ScentSplit. I'm always happy to run into a fragrance that I can't say, "It smells like____________." This literally doesn't remind me of anything. It's unique, which is in its favor. The clove does most of the work in the opening, tarragon to a lesser extent. The rest is pretty standard rosy oud, though not so rosy I hate it as I often do rose notes. I'm not certain it's something I'd ever choose to wear. Just like when I was a kid and my uncle would offer me a stick of Clove chewing gum. I'd chew it. It was okay, but when I got chewing gum from the vending machine I always went for Wrigley's Spearmint, Double Mint and Juicy Fruit, not Beeman's, Clove, or Blackjack. It's like a dash of cinnamon in oatmeal adds something, but I don't want oatmeal that's predominately cinnamon the way this fragrance is predominately clove in the opening. Been a while since I felt this way about a Mancera scent, as I mostly love them (I've bought 11 full bottles so far), but this won't be a bottle buy for me. It performs well, but 20 minutes in I'm already tired of it, and I can't imagine it will get positive notice from others.

This is the first “scrubber” I’ve ever bought from Mancera after owning quite a few fragrances from this line. A review below akins the scent to that of “medicinal bandages”, which is what I would like to reiterate and concur with. This opening is a tad harsh and tends to stick around for an unwelcoming stay. I tested this in 2ml tester spray format on a day that varied in temperature from 23 degrees to 13 degrees Celsius now in the late evening.

Harsh leather at opening and at dry down, also no chemistry with my skin

Black pepper. Tarragon. White musk. Stomach churning. Headachy. The woods are high quality, but no Rose. At all. Another disappointment from Mancera. Montale would do well to stay away from generics. It's like any ordinary man's cologne with Oudh. Nothing feminine about it, just an ordinary fragrance I smell in malls all over the Middle East. It should not be marketed as unisex. Too male and sickly. Intense silage and longevity, so use it sparingly. The drop in creativity is regrettable. No wonder Mancera is being heavily discounted on the net.

I rarely call a fragrance 'bad' but this, sadly, is quite awful. It dries down just 'ok' which makes the opening, a brash and grassy cacophony of horror, unforgivable.

Spicy, leathery rose. Subtle complications which I can only describe as an old purse. Stale synthetic wood. Slightly feminine leaning. Much better options available.
