Crazy For Oud

#652 in my "Tour de Fragrance" Got this as a decant. After a while Mancera scents do tend to all run together. This is maybe two degrees different from Amber Fever, which I already have, and one degree different from Mancera Precious Oud. This has no whiskey note, and that's about all the distinction you can make between this scent, Amber Fever and Precious Oud. It's otherwise same-same. I'm a teetotaler myself. And while I can appreciate the boozy notes in more than one fragrance, I think that notes like rose (though the Damascus rose here isn't prominent), and booze appeals to and reminds others of an older demographic. Either way, if you like one, you'll like the others, but if you have one don't bother to own the other two as no one who isn't there for the first ten minutes of the opening will detect the difference. All that said it doesn't get much better than this scent profile. It's solidly unisex, performance is middling with passable longevity that makes it to lunch and decent projection for about an hour, so not beastly at all, and completely inoffensive. More for date night than the office (a fougeres-only zone for me). Can't imagine anyone being unhappy they bought this, though there are longer and stronger options from Mancera.

A gorgeous fragrance that’s a beast in sillage and projection. There are a few differences between crazy for oud and precious oud they don’t smell 100% alike. The florals are more pronounced in Crazy for oud than in precious oud. Also, crazy for oud the sweetness of the tiramisu accord is amped up more. I like both fragrances however I say this one is more leaning feminine and I would like to smell crazy for oud on females than precious oud which has a whiskey note and it kind of stings your nose in the opening. Another thing is the oud in crazy for oud smells clean and works well with the florals and the oud accord that’s in precious oud has a slight kick that’s a bit skanky but not anything terrible. I truly believe women will love crazy for oud more than precious oud. None the less you cant go wrong with either purchase but I feel woman will appreciate crazy for oud more. Mancera’s Crazy for oud has more of a cakey tiramisu sweetness over precious oud which I think women will adore more and it is not nauseating or cloying because the florals and oud help balances it out.

More masculine than Aoud Exclusif, less masculine than Precious Oud. More mainstream/western than Aoud Exclusif, but less mainstream/western than Precious Oud. This is done SO well! It smells SO classy! Rose-oud? Yes, but topped with a bitter tiramisu note that helps tie in a dry woodiness, with a hint of leather. I can't say that it will be some magic people-pleasing hit in the USA, but for a fragrance enthusiast, this is a phenomenal, balanced, unisex rose-oud. One of the best rose-ouds I've tried (and I've tried a LOT OF THEM!) Although, I will say, this is a bit on the bitter side and less sweet, so be prepared for that. For my tastes, I prefer Precious Oud's even more bitter, pungent, woody scent over this, but when I'm in the mood for a rose-oud, it's either this (when I'm in the mood for a bitter scent) or Muhammad Ali Legacy Oud Round 6 (when I'm in the mood for sweet). The Legacy Round 6 is a more typical, sweet rose-oud, topped with Bvlgari Pour Homme Soir's papyrus note. Both give me a rose-oud that's easy to wear as a man, although they are nothing alike.

This was such a pleasant surprise. I ordered the following samples: Sand Aoud Aoud Exclusif Sicily Cosmic Pepper Crazy For Oud To my surprise, Crazy For Oud ended up being my favourite. I love a good oud fragrance, and this one did not disappoint. I’m not usually drawn to sweeter, gourmand scents, but this is a clear exception. It has a dessert-like tiramisu and chocolate vibe, layered with woody, slightly musky notes, rose, and a touch of dark, slightly dirty oud to balance it all out. Projection and performance are solid, as expected from Mancera. Definitely suited for winter, autumn, and early spring. It’s office-safe and perfect for date nights. It comes across as unisex for me. A blind-buy sample that’s now turned into a full bottle purchase. 9/10 overall, especially considering it can be found heavily discounted online.

I prefer this to Precious Oud because I prefer my fragrance to lean gourmand. The boozy accord in PO is fine but I just prefer the composition without it. It's nice to have choices! I've heard Mancera criticized for having both offerings because they're virtually identical (PO with a boozy accord and CFO without it), but I really think theres room for both. The oud in CFO is smooth and wearable and it stays around for hours but takes a backseat to the sweet accords. The florals are light and blended so well as to make them difficult to distinguish. The overall composition is VERY nicely balanced. The sillage for the first four hours is pretty strong and the longevity is above average. Well done Mancera!

Got a sample. I love everything about it. The sweetness of the tiramasu is a perfect touch. Depending on the number of spritzes it's versatile enough to be worn year round. It's the rose/oud combo done beautifully. The floral notes are perfect. Laotian oud is safe for those who have a hard time with oud being funky. It deepens the entire fragrance without stank. The woody notes keep the musk under control to work with the oud in deepening the fragrance. Longevity and sillage are great on me. I think this is one of Mancera's best besides Soleil D'Italie, Pearl, Purple Flowers and Juicy Flowers. EDIT: I'm am crazy for this fragrance!! Whenever I wear it, I can't stop sniffing myself. 🥰

Such a beautiful fragrance. Balanced so perfectly with the slightly animalic oid polarized with the tiramisu the floral add a touch of soapyness while the leather adds a hint of masculineness to it while the patchouli dark resinous yet sweet comes and wraps up yhr mid and top notes. When the dry down comes in you get that beautiful vanilla I love mancera for offset so it's not cloying with thr woody undertones with a hint of that oakmoss to make it truly unique and ofcourse rheir signature musk they use in like every fragrance paired with their ever famous amber Pierre loves to use. Another master piece by the goat

I bought this fragrance accidentally, based on its listed notes. I have to say, at the moment, this is my most favourite fragrance - not just from Mancera, but overall. To me, it’s a combination of a very delicate, clean, soft, and high-quality oud, followed by floral notes dominated by rose (though I feel other floral notes as well). From time to time, a hint of coffee sneaks in. The scent is quite changeable - at different times of the day and in different temperatures, different notes come forward and alternate. For me, this perfume is easily 10 out of 10.

It smells more expensive than its price point. Very pleasant and not as synthetic as many of the budget ouds. The oud smells natural, although I'm sure its synthetic. Very sweet, powdery rose makes this lean slightly feminine but, Ill call it unisex. The rose really dominates, keeping the oud from being at all barnyard. I expected a Mancera to be more beastly but this does not have huge sillage, and I can't even smell it on skin after 4-6 hours. If you wanted to dip your toe in the oud frag pool, this is a nice safe way to start.

This is immediately my newest love. I found it to be a cross between Xerjoff Alexandria II and Nawab Oudh OJ. Not exactly but has that tendency within that family type of smell which is so pleasant and never disturbing at all. Xerjoff and OJ are more refined. But no one will notice. Oud is just a background and interferes very softly. Great and beast longevity and sillage. Nothing to complain in this department. To me a must have. Pls buy it you wont regret! One of Mancera's best.

Nobody dislikes this fragrance, oud mixed with woods, and a goumand sweetness by way of tirimisu and rose. It is like a dark sweet. Oud keeps the rose and all the other sweet notes from going to feminine. Just the right amount of sweet, to not take away from the earthiness of the Oud, the oud is not skanky in this combination. Good fragrance, not loud, becomes a skin scent early, but stays with you long, for your personal enjoyment, and it is very enjoyable.

One of my first Mancera's and still one of my favorites. The rose is subdued, I get more magnolia, the oud is light and airy and the tiramisu note envelopes the whole scent. Lovely stuff, perfectly unisex...good for all occasions except the high heat. I also own Precious Oud, and while their notes are nearly identical, they are miles apart in scent (both stunning, but I prefer CFO). Sillage is moderate and longevity is above average. 9.5/10

Yes, I am crazy about it not because it is LOUD but because it gives consistently beautiful smell for about 7-9 hrs. It is not a projection Bomb but it gives a very good scent bubble that everyone around you will smell it for the first 2.5 hours. After that, it comes close to you but again very consistent and upclose it will inspire you and others. i think perfect for night time, especially in autumn and winters.

I got a chance to try Crazy for Oud a while back at a local perfume store and I have to say it’s so beautiful. They only had a tester for 52$ which was a good deal. So before deciding to get myself a bottle I came here to see some thoughts about it. Now for those of you who already have CFO, how is the performance? Does it have strong sillage? Does it last eternally? 🙂

This is an underrated Banger from the house of Mancera. This smells like fresh uncreased bills from an ATM. very crisp, clean, slightly sweet, and faintly boozy. this can be worn year-round just be careful on the trigger, as it can choke you out! when wearing no more than 2-3 sprays during the summer days, this really shines in colder weather. this is a Must have IMO!

Sweet, cooking desert vibe, caramel on butter this is nice for young crowds they fans of all the vanilla and sweet Perfumes. Strong version of givenchy pi if you have smelled it before.but this one sweeter and louder and stronger. Overall this one really nice sweet perfume.

Mancera aoud exclusif + Montale Honey Aoud = Crayz for Oud They mixed the quality woody scent in MAE and the smell of honey in MHA and created a magnificent scent. I like it very much because the other 2 fragrances are my favorites from Mancera & Montale scents

The oud/patchouli notes stand out first with a hint of the sweetness of the tiramisu. Another winner from Mancera. FB worthy for me! Unisex leaning feminine as well.

Absolutely love the tiramisu note in this. It plays very well with the oud. I'd highly recommend this one. Smells very elegant and is somewhat gourmand. 9/10.

First try of my decant of another recent release from Mancera, Crazy for Oud, yet another oud-named perfume from the empire than churns them out as quickly as any, with increasingly playful (yet not altogether that helpful) names. They hit on a couple of big winners late last year with Montale Oud Dream and Mancera Precious Oud, each full bottle worthy in my opinion. To my nose, Crazy for Oud is a mix of oud, leather, and rose, with heavy doses of fruit. It balances the sweet and dirty/animalic/dry/woody sides of the oud and leather fairly well. Some of the sweetness no doubt comes from the “tiramisu” note but I get a bit of a fruity vibe that’s difficult to attribute to any particular fruit, hence the absence of fruit notes in the mix. There’s a faint booziness to it—again, possibly the tiramisu—but I wouldn’t call it a boozy fragrance, not as much so as Precious Oud, for one. Overall, it’s agreeable and reasonably high-performing without being as interesting as other options, but I’d still recommend that interested parties, especially fans of Montale/Mancera, check this one out, as I could see it fitting the bill as an easier-to-wear-than-some option that’s not too over-the-top in any particular respective. It’s not too much oud, rose, or leather, and it’s not too sweet. Pricing for Crazy for Oud is the standard $180 for 120ml and it’s currently available in the US at a couple of boutiques—Krystal Fragrance and Osswald NYC. I think it’ll do well on the secondary market and lots of people will like it, but it’s just not my favorite, especially following a couple of great recent releases. 7 out of 10

This perfume feels unique even though judging from the notes it is very similar to Precious Oud, because the difference is that in Precious Oud there are additional whiskey notes, whereas in Crazy for Oud there are none. Even though the notes have many similarities to Precious Oud. In practice, these two perfumes are not the same perfume, and have very contrasting concentration differences, especially between rose and oud. There are many differences between Crazy for Oud and Precious Oud. In Precious Oud it seems sweeter and the opening aroma is like whiskey which is more pronounced but the rose aroma is only fleeting and a little powdery, the opening aroma is a bit like DH Intense, and has a calm aroma compared to CFO. This is very different from Crazy for Oud, it has the notes of rose, oud, vanilla and leather which synergize well and have a stronger sillage than Precious. In CFO there are animalic, musky notes, very powdery and a hint of incense.

Based on the other reviews, I gather this goes very different directions on different skin or with different noses. To me, the citrus and rose/florals dominate. Has the same sharp citric note as Soleil d'Italie (maybe that's the Bulgarian rose + bergamont?) with a bit more vanilla roundess underneath. I don't get much oud or leather in the open. Only a tiny bit of dirty wood (oud) emerge in the mid. Always sweet, which one could call tiramisu or just amber/vanilla. Despite its name, I get a pretty office safe and unisex floral freshie with a grounding wood undertone. Good but not interesting enough to be full bottle worthy.

Candied and jammy rose on a less sweet background. The Oud on my skin is airy and distant. I feel vanilla (maybe that’s the praline?) and soft wood (cedar wood?) - more of a dry but not dusty effect. An hour in with one spray, very pleasant. Surprisingly light and easy to wear. I’m also testing multiple fragrances out which are beasts. Will try these all again on their own, and edit this if things change. Edit.... It is a beast. Today much rosier, but lovely none of that annoying heavy pepper that often accompanies rose with oud. Lovely. I’ll be sourcing a larger decant and wearing over winter as I’m cautious with rose.

Mancera's Crazy For Oud is essentially a lighter and sweeter take on Louis Vuitton's Nouveau Monde, released a year earlier. It's pulled back, more reserved, doesn't punch you in the face like Nouveau Monde. That's a good thing for some who may be looking for something more mass appealing, or it could be less appealing for those who gravitate to more impressive niche style fragrances. Crazy For Oud is really nice, and I think it would be a pretty gentle introduction to an oud accord. Nouveau Monde, on the othoer hand, lights up my brain with a much bolder, harder-hitting take on the scent.

To me it smells like Mancera Aoud Exclusif with added fresh floral notes. Aoud Exclusif Fraiche would've been a suitable name if Mancera were into making flankers. I like it. Not sure if I love it, but definitely like it a lot.

Whoa. Top notes are accurately listed. Starts off as a genuinely unisex, harmonious blend and persists. They knocked it out of the park with Crazy for Oud. Prefer this to Precious Oud. Top shelf Mancera.

A very soft sweet scent, love the opening with the dessert/oud vibe but it goes quiet very fast.

Better than "Oud, Where's My Car," but not as good as "Oud Let the Dogs Out".

Nose Note #1091 Oud is the last thing that comes to mind when I'm smelling this. To my nose this is a dense white floral scent in the style of Givenchy Organza, but less reminiscent of a toilet air freshener and with a rose note. I'm surprised by comparisons to Oud Bouquet and Ombre Leather. Absolutely nothing in common. I guess it's floral oudy. Not the oud that I'm used to. I don't know. It smells like something from Avon, but on steroids. Definately more feminine. A lot more feminine than unisex. Performance is a typical Montale/Mancera strong. 6/10, I don't use the direction where this is going. Strong, bright, but very unimpressive

I'm so confused! This smells so strongly like rose. I wondered if I had gotten Roses Greedy by mistake. Nope, I've got them side by side now on either wrist. RG is 100% floral. Crazy for Oud is a mature lady's slightly musky floral on me. I am sadly missing the tiramisu and searching for the Oud! I wonder if this is a batch or sample issue because the disparity between my experience and these reviews are nuts. Smells nice, too stinky and mature for me.

Where is tiramisu? I don’t get any of it. I get oud which is patchouli-like, I get rose and I get lots of leather. Citrus in the opening but that doesn’t last long. Also, not sure how much people are spraying but this doesn’t las more than 3 hours with 3 sprays. I’m not sure I will keep it. It’s not bad but rather blah to me. There are better oud fragrances out there.

To me in the begining smells like honey, just honey. After like 2h it begins to change into that tiramisu and becomes more interesting but at that time also the projection becomes awful and it can barely be smelled even up close. Overall I expected more.

It is a very delicate aromatic oud with a very slight sweetness. The oud here is accompanied by leather and rose but I personally do not perceive the rest of the notes listed. Perhaps the sweet aspect comes from the tiramisu but for me it is not a note that I clearly identifiy. It doesn't smell like the typical rose-oud combo to me because here the woody part and the leather are the protagonists and the rose is only in the background. Even though they are very similar, here the oud is presented in a less sweet way than in Precious Oud and is also much cleaner, I hardly get the stable reminiscence that sometimes accompanies this note and just very subtly at the beginning of its development. Taking into account that it is a perfume mainly of oud and leather, both notes usually very strong and which tend to be difficult for me, I found it very wearable but I do not feel it very remarkable and I wouldn't buy a full bottle. When I imagine perfumes with oud I like more complex compositions. It has a moderate sillage and lasts 6-7 hours on my skin. Although I like it more than Precious Oud, I find it somewhat weak in terms of projection and I use it mainly to layer with other fragrances. One of the combinations that I have tried was with Zara's Dubai, to which it adds a sweet touch that is great because the Zara is a bit too dry for my taste. With Precious Oud it makes my favorite combo, they complement each other very nicely. Although I enjoy it, as in the case of Precious Oud, for me it has ended up being a layering perfume and that is something that I do not consider as an option to have in my collection in its price range so I will not restock it. Does anyone like the Madonna song “Crazy for You”? Listen to that song, and you have something of a review for Crazy for Oud. The fragrance opens with a strong, semi-sweet rose note backed by a strong oud and mixed with leather. It’s an intense combination that retains some of the rose and also gains sweetness from tiramisu and vanilla, which give a sugary accord to the fragrance that keeps it wearable while maintaining a dense, dark woody character. Oud and leather are, of course, two of the more challenging notes to wear and won’t be to everyone’s taste. And make no mistake, the oud here is strong despite everything else going on. For those who wear and enjoy these scents, Madonna says everything much more succinctly and poetically than me. I see you through the rosy air Can't you feel my tiramisu heavy stare You're so close but still a world away What I'm dying to say, is that I'm crazy for oud. Sure, a little liberty is taken with the lyrics but still, if you’re an oud lover, Madonna sounds pretty spot on.

I tried this the other week, and it's something I'll want to buy eventually. I get oud and sweet leathery woody notes blended in the background. It's light and good for anytime, any season, anywhere. It's not overpowering or wild but it's unique. I like this as an everyday oud scent, it's a pretty tame smelling oud and really nice for someone looking for an easy to wear crowd pleaser yet will stand out from the herd. I get pretty good staying power and soft projection. Linear all the way. From the current prices I'm looking at, CFO is good value wherever you buy from. Safe enough to blind buy if you're looking to add a likable oud scent in your collection in my opinion.

Unisex right in half.. if you like Ombre Nomade's DNA, you’re gonna love this. The florals come and go giving it a touch of feminine vibe with the patchouli (patchouli amps up whatever flowers you throw at it). And there’s oud and leather, but the oud is stronger and smells very high quality and blended with the rose I get the ON references. I detect a little sweetness and cacao but not much, maybe in a few hours. Honestly this is one hell of a bang for your buck. Run, don’t walk! Update, it doesn't get very sweet on me. It's veeery long lasting (until next day) but it's not asphyxiating like Ombre Nomade. 100% worth it at this price and 100% unisex.

The oud in this is excellent. Just a tad animalic to give a feel of authenticity, but never unpleasant. Its important to note that the rose here is the fresh, dewy type with the green stem attached. This gives it a tad of feminity. The tiramisu doesnt disappoint being fluffy and only moderately sweet. Lots of other floral tones and a bit of patchouli. This fragrance is sheer and has a bit of sparkle. Unisex, leaning a tad feminine. I enjoyed it but feedback from others was on the negative side.

This one surprised me. I wore it to work to "test it out" on a cool rainy fall day to see what it would really do. And when i tell you it showed up and showed out. Even after a full days wear, when i went to Chipotle, ladies were commenting on how good i smelled. I was throughly surprised. Laotion oud provides a lil badassery and the Tiramisu gives a bit of sweetness. I dig it. Its a yes for me.

Smoked oudh as the brackdrop. Soft, polished leather. Buttered florals. Cake-y tirimasu accord. And a bright citrus to give the fragrance a slight effervescent feel. I like this very much. Smells exotic. Never thought I could pull off white florals. Hell... I never thought I could pull off white florals in the Fall/Winter.

Smells like a generic attar to me. I’ve been exposed to attars since a very young age so this scent is nothing new for me, but if you haven’t ever tried attars then this might be worth checking out for you. The smell is nothing bad, there’s just no novelty factor in it for me. Feminine leaning but still very much unisex.

Pierre and Co. dropped a gem here. Not a home run, but definitely an RBI double.. or something like that. I'm going to sit with this further and come back. *If you like Aoud Lemin Mint, you will enjoy this offering.

Just got this beauty today and upon first spray, I get a very rich amber/caramel (i guess the tiramisu note) accord that soon turns into a strong violet scent. Very soon to confirm any verdict. To be continued ...

I've been wanting to try Crazy for Oud and Precious Oud. Have you tried Precious Oud @landshark321? If so, which one is the winner. I've read both have similar notes and is redundant to own both. Any Comments?

Another mundane blend of Oud and Rose done ad nauseam. I think I need a breather.
