Gold Intensive Aoud

this is a review about the 2014 formulation of mancera purchased in dubai at blomingdale for about 140 us$ for 120ml edp i am a mancera fan ..i find this one a bit watered down.. compared to the older manceras.. its a more rosy.. bright..crisp ..translucent..lucid.. manceras lacking the depth and intensity and velvetines and almost oilines of the older 2008 formulations.. manceras still holds its place high among the niche trend of frenchy oudy conotations..an oud that actually makes you feel serene.. and divine.. without the utter agresseviness of the sever oud harshness ..mancera plays it right.. with the fine mixture to tame oud doun.. for both the oud users and non oud users..i mean for the western noses.. who are interested in oud ..with a twist.. oud with a sophistication... oud with a story..finer oud that doesnt repeal.. every mancera takes you in a jounrney.. back in time ..or even to the future.. of oud in a happier place ..oud in a less cloying sufocating sense..yet not too modern.. that it destroy its heritage ..its just the right oud rose amber musk etc connotation.. of everlasting perfection.. of oud across nations.. across cultures.. across genders...mancera truely bridged the gap ..and surpassed so many 3 and 6 digit niche bottles.. for their quality and longevity and silage surpass many .. the smell is unique.. royal.. crisp ..sophisticated ..and some how modern ..yet true its its past.. for some reason i am smelling alot more rose ..on this particular gold edition ..(believe it or not i am not a rose fan ) and i am still in awe and admiration of the mancera line..oud needs rose.. to be lighter.. even brighter.. and fuller.. oud on its own cant survive(for western noses) without the rosy touch ..which brings it back to life..as if rose is the yin ..the female.. moon.. energy.. and oud is the yang..the male.. positive.. sun.. energy..together they make everything in harmony...oposites attract ..and compliment one another.. just as in rose and oud they bring out the best in one another..as in the yin and yang..light and dark.. the perfume is almost a clean taif rose scent.. with a hidden touch of precious oud ..its full.. crisp..bright.. lovely.. takes you to another place and time.. fills your heart with joy..uplifts your spirits.. the kind of scent that makes you want to sing songs of joy.. its in a higher frequency ..not a dull perfume ..its a full.. almost sweet.. from the roses.. not sickly so..it is a festive perfume..you can blend it.. layer it.. use it on its own.. you can defenetly use it with bakhour.. to accentuate it.. and add depth ..not that it needs any extra help.. it is just divine on its own.. but it is a multidimensional.. scent that can be versatile...

Today was my first wearing of Gold Intensitive Aoud in two years. Though I enjoy this fragrance very much, I forgot to wear any in 2017. I hope to correct that egregious error this year. The projection, longevity, and sillage are all off the charts - truly amazing even by Mancera standards which are often potent to a fault. I am wondering, however, is there any oud in this at all? Not only doesn't Fragrantica list any, but Mancera's website also does not. Here on Fragrantica they do mention precious woods, and I am sure many of you are aware that oud producing countries often guard the trees which produce this rare commodity with machine guns. That would certainly make oud a precious wood, but I am not sure that Fragrantica's definition of precious woods is necessarily the one I am thinking of with regard to how cautiously the agarwood is protected. Mancera's website lists "woody notes" as the only thing that could possibly be oud if the oud is there to begin with. I am not so sure it is. I do seem to recognize what I know to be a faint version of a rose-oud accord, actually more faint of oud than of rose, but I am wondering if that isnt the rose playing off the guaiac wood and other woody notes. Why would Mancera put Aoud in the name, and not even deliver a synthetic version which they are very good at synthesizing in other bottles they make? I like this fragrance as is, would buy it again, but am just wondering if we are being deceived, or if Mancera is relying on the Arabic word "oud" which means wood, as the reason for its inclusion in the name, without supplying any actual agarwood note, real or synthetic.

i am a fan of all the mancera line.. when it comes to oud based perfumes made out side the middle east or the far east , i think they(mancera) have got it right...very fine.. very sophisticated ..not vulgar in any way ..extremely sultry.. and velvety.. very full.. round.. full bodied ..perfect for winter ..the oud and rose complement each other in unimaginable ways ..its as close as you can get to authentic oud and taif rose authentic oil Arabian elixirs from Riyadh the heart of Arabia ..where the queens and princes all smell like this.. with the addition of saffron and musk and ambars and cambodian ouds.. i dont think mancera got the popularity it deserves ..for me the juice is just perfect.. and is actually reasonable in price.. and even cheaper than some of its counterparts from the new oud trend from famous european companies..the longevity and sillage is extremely potent .. mancer s line is niche to me ..i think its made to suite the elegant sophisticated taste of royalty and the elite ..and fine perfume lovers ..yes its strong and long lasting but not in offensive ways.. its a lovely perfume among the light nonsense we live among these days i think its worth every penny you spend on it .. at least you will stillabeable to smell it hours after you ware it and others will be intrigued and will definitely ask you what are you wearing? edp perfume ratting 4.7 out of 5 bottle ratting 3.7 out of 5 winter ware night special ocasions unisex

Ud ve gül karışımı parfümler açıkçası kullanımı zor türler arasınďadır. Özellikle bizim coğrafyada. Eğer gül ağırlıklı ise feminen ve fazla şekerli ud ağırlıklı ise fazla oryantel kalır. Tabiki bunu çok iyi ayarlayan parfümler var. Dior Oud Ispihan bunlardan birisi. Mancera da bu dengeyi gayet iyi ayarlamış. Tabiki genel olarak "arap" tarzını koruyor ama sınırları aşmadan. Arap ülkelerinde bulunduysanız genellikle bas bas bağıran parfümleri sevildiğini fark etmişsinizdir. Yapı olarak o tarzda ama baģırmıyor. Oldukça keyifli bir kullanımı var. Şekerli havası ilk yarım saat sonrasında zayıflıyor ve ud-gül karışımı sahneyi tamamen kontrolüne alıyor. Güçlü bir parfüm, kalıcılık konusunda laf söylemek mümkün değil. Koku dağılımı ise yine oldukça fazla. Her yerde kendini rahatlıkla belli edecek tarzda. Mancera nın çözemediği sorunu ise şişelerinin sprey bağlantısının sorunlu olması. Elimdeki Mancera ların tamamı sprey kısmından vida gibi dönerek açılıyor. Dikkat etmezseniz dökülebilir. Kısacası oldukça kuvvetli ve "hacı yağı" gibi kokmayan bir ud-gül karışımı istiyorsanız deneyin. En başta söylediğim gibi bunlar kullanımı kolay olmayan türde parfümler. En az yarım saat denemeden almayın.

Goodness gracious I love this fragrance! Another beast mode genderless perfume from Mancera. Gold is in the Oud+Roses category. This opens with a beautiful citric burst that remains for a few minutes on your skin follows by a very sweet and spicy rose mélange. At the end, after a few minutes the final notes, oud, musk and amber come out and said, “Hello there”! I should have discovered Mancera long ago, I have too many perfumes now to invest in the Mancera line. This is a fragrance for people with big personalities such as an extraversion personality type; those who at any moment would say: F-it, I am living for myself and I couldn’t care less of what you think of me. Two sprays max should be more than enough unless you are going out dancing/clubbing you might want to use a little bit extra. Perfect Friday night date perfume with - skinny jeans, stilettos, dressy shirt, red lipstick for outdoor dinner. I cannot wait for the perfect weather in Chicago to wear this gem. This is how beautiful people suppose to smell!

There is some strong metallic note here. Maybe the water note. Im picking up a bleach and chlorine like smell. A very clean detergent like aldehydic musk. Smells elegant and clean. A sweet rose too. This is a all around perfume day, night, dressed, undressed formal, casual. I hate all around perfumes but this well blended and rounded I cant hate it. Its smells like all the notes are complimenting each other. There is a faint sweetness too coming from the rose. This is not a blind buy. This is for the people who loves haute perfumes and I think if I smell this on someone I will easily think that they know a lot a about perfumes and admire their passion for it. Its very unique and recognizable. This is potent so please be careful on the sprayer. If you are repulse by this I recommend trying Wild Rose Aoud. Tried it again, this has a beautiful vegetal rose drydown. A beautiful beautiful elegant rose that doesn't leave your skin

Nose Note #415 To me this smells so much like honey!!! Amazing. It's strong, but at the same time, at least to my nose, it's fit for all seasons. I've been wearing it in high heat situations and it works wonderfully. When I looked at the notes and saw rose I was impressed, because I thought the name "Aoud Gold" must be referring to something golden in color and when I was wearing it smelled like lemon+honey tea and nothing else. Now I see that it must be the rose that's done in a very sweet manner that reminds me of honey. And also honey and lemon go together nicely (thus lemon and rose apparently can do wonders?). Another one of my favourites from Mancera. Just like most of them - it's beastly and actually somewhat synthetic-smelling (a common problem in Mancera and Montale, I guess). Can't have them both potent and smelling all natural. 8/10. A special one.

I posted a review here about 2 months ago but I deleted it because I was too harsh on the performance. I had it for about 10 days and during that time, it did not perform, it was really weak. Fast forward to now, I have to say it performs much better than it did back then. I loved the scent profile from the first sniff. It's a familiar DNA that I smelled before since I grew up in Saudi, but Montale tweaked it and made it more accessible and wearable. Rose is the center, with saffron and musk as supporting notes. The woody notes just give it a bit of heft as it dries. Overall, this is a fresh and airy scent profile that is 100% unisex imo and works year round. One of those under-hyped Manceras that deserve a whole lot more love.

S.E.X.Y as hell.... OMG, I am literally speechless. This perfumes is sooooo sexy, the most exquisite clean oud and rose combo. It is slighty soft, clean and give an aura of zen and a bit of innocence. Couldn't stop sniffing my arm. Its sooooo underrated and no body speaks about it (I thank OlyaBar from youtube for recommending it). It can work anytime and anywhere, performance is just good albeit a bit close to you and its hell of sexy. I tried the black intensitive oud, I love that one too but this is the one I am lusting over. LOVE IT.. a forever love. Edit: This got me CRAZY lusting compliments how good I smell though I can't smell it on me :P Many female colleagues complimented me on my scent and how good I smell.

This is amazing! I had never smelled such a realistic saffron in a fragrance. Sounds just like the exotic and unique flavor I can feel when chewing a few pistils. I have the impression that this saffron defines all the golden potential of the fragrance. There's also a watery, mushroom-like touch that intertwines the top notes with teak wood in an exquisite way. Culturally, the rose is understood, in Brazil, as the smell of grandmas. So unfortunately this fragrance is not well accepted. Even being young I use it with great pleasure. The woods of this fragrance are sophisticated and leave the result perfectly unisex. It will always remain in my collection.

This really surprised me as all rose-ouds I've tested are rich, slightly dark and definitely to wear on autumn or winter. This is a fresh oud! The first blast was weird and unpleasant, actually. It smelled like an insect repellent we used to spray on ourselves while being on swimming pools when I was little, it was called Autan. About 10 minutes later it calms down and it becomes better and better, to me a little like masculine shower gel, but not like a masculine perfume.Then the rose and oud become defined and beautiful. This is definitely golden! Bright and sparkly a spring oud! I love it!

Recently purchased 2 backup bottles been using this for a very long time. Amazing scent. One of my favourite manceras. I can smell citrus, rose water (not jammy rose), some oud and musk. It smells very opulent. I have received some compliments w most saying that I smell like a luxurious Middle Eastern bathroom so yes you'll receive compliments and you will attract some attention. Longevity is good 8-10hrs but less than other potent manceras. It is unisex while some may call it feminine.

Fresh, watery-citrus, with a lovely 🌹 and 🪵 note...followed by a beautiful soft musk. Versatile enough for all seasons. One of mancera's best and most underrated. I see how some find it similar to Black Line, but for me it's just the rose musk combo that is familiar (same could be said for intense Cafe, roses vanille etc...). This is distinct though with that watery note and must less pronounced woods opposed to black line. A very addictive fragrance, 💯 unisex.

This is a beautiful scent that opens up with a lot of lemon and water notes, it is medicinal in the first couple of minutes. Once you get into the dry down it becomes a very fresh lemon, rose, and woody scent. I think it is perfectly unisex and could be worn perfectly during spring and summer. On my skin, the lemon note is very prominent and lasts throughout its entire longevity. Definitely a love.

Mancera is the best price to value niche perfumery there is IMO. This starts with sweet rose water with a mild woody background, Then the sweetness dials back and you are left with rich smelling slightly sweet oud accord. I got this last year for 50$ brand new after tax and I like the pouch they throw in (testers wont come with pouch). It is pretty unisex and slightly feminine leaning, solid 9/10.

Well Rory1234, if you actually read the reviews you will see exatly who wants smelling like this. Because you are a newbie you might not know about skin PH and all that. I get roses and woods from this, and a sharp medicinal note that I love. Maybe you should try it again with a bit of a more open mind. if you still don't like it that its fine, but it is a shame that it doesn't work in your skin.

Wearing this again after a few years of storage and forgot about it . Like wow . It's very powerful . Floral honey leather rose woods and some leather vibe . Very alluring scent . High quality oud in this . The opening is very powerful and in your face But The Drydown is when this shows it's magic. Be careful on the trigger this can go nuclear lol

Please Help. I just got my bottle of mancera gold intensive aoud From NOTINO. As soon as I spray it, somehow I feel it's kind of oily. And the rose dominates very much everything. So I'm somehow skeptical about authenticity of the product, for the reasons I mentioned above. But other than that, it smells good. Thanks for any reply. Thank you.

Excellent scent by Mancera: the perfume house that recently impressed for its originality. And this perfume, together with Sand Aoud, is one of the best; powerful, recognizable, attractively unisex, bewitching....you can feel all the precious woods that give off all their aroma, guaiac firsthand ........ a drug. Try it.

This scent is gorgeous - I love it! It reminds me of Crazy for Oud. To me, it’s completely unisex, equally perfect for men and women. You can wear it year-round, but it shines in summer, especially for evening occasions. The sillage is soft, cool, and refreshing, with a fresh yet luxurious soapy hint that I adore!

hmm got mine . it smells a little woody like a sweet woody the woods listed are true . theres an amber note in it . what i get though is a spicy dark honey aroma with woods and tiny amounts of flowers . its wearable and pleasant i feel comfortable wearing it , the oud is smooth in this not as loud as " the aoud "

It's really nice. Typical rose-oud with prominent citrus smell. I also pick up some bleach smell at the beginning like others, but it quickly fades away. Unfortunately it quickly becomes a skin scent on me, so it didn't meet my expectations when it comes to projection and longevity. I still LOVE it though.

This smells exactly like L’Autre Oud Eau de Parfum Lancome without the dark thick oud smell. I smell all the notes except the lemon and water (idk what water smells like I tried smelling my water today and it smells like nothing). Very sophisticated I would describe it as a rose saffron woody oud.

The only thing that annoys me about some of manceras fragrances Is they'll have aoud in the name and there will be no oud listed in the notes. Why make a fragrance and call it oud and then not put it in the fragrance? Black intensive aoud has oud in it and yet the gold has none.

i found this perfume by mistake at a perfumery shop i liked it immediately the rose is a strong note the supposedly oud isnt there to much Safran is the top tear note on this parfume its a good summer spring fragrance but u cant wear it everyday because u can get tired of it

Another amazing fragrance from this house! Its very much like a traditional middle-eastern attar but on steroids. Very well blended, the oud and saffron work beautifully together! Had purchased a 2ml sample, will definitely be adding this to my collection.

A fresher oud rose combination thats heavenly. Upon initial sniff it reminded me of a hospital corridor, I think because of the water notes. Once you get past the initial two minutes you are left with a lemony rose scent with quite prominent woody notes.

I really like this perfume... Usually I avoid Oud perfumes but this one is lovely to wear and had other notes than typical Oud fragrance. Longevity is eternal and sillage is enormous. Finally I can say I am going to buy this

This is one of my bedtime fragrances. The mix between oud and rose in here is just so smooth without overpowering. Tender, sexy, gender-neutral, relaxing. Longevity is about 12 hours or more. Rate: 9/10.

Doesn’t really smell like beer anymore. In my opinion the bleach in the opening isn’t good but it fades so spray on like an hour before.

I just looked at the notes on parfumo and this does have oud in the mid.

I received it a few hours ago, screw cap version.. My 5th Mancera which I blind bought it based on the good reviews, and to be honest I'm not sure if I like it or not.. I think it smells better on my clothes than on my skin..I can detect all the notes, but the combination is very weird.. I agree with what most people say about this "bleach scent" + "old lady smell"... I might have to give it more time, who knows, maybe in the winter time, the scent will become different. Moderate longevity and projection for sure. A 6/10 so far.. *Update* This has grown on me a bit.. My sister and my wifey said it smells like cleanliness...Not a bad think for sure, but it still remains a simple scent for me though.. From a 6 it goes to a 7/10... The worst out of all my Mancera's hands down.

I have a love hate relationship with this fragrance, this is exactly how I feel about it: I LOVE IT! I HATE IT! I'M OVER IT! I LOVE IT! The beginning of it just kills me, it remind me straight up of a dental office or a hospital, through that hospital smell I can smell a really nice rose, so think of a dental office with a vase of beautiful roses standing in a room. About an hour later it begins to smell very beautiful, like a very expensive rose, it's very gentle and it's the same kind of rose smell that Roses Vanille has except there is no sweetness of vanilla. Everyone raves about it's longevity, but on my it's about 2-3 hours, but I haven't ever tried a perfume that stayed longer than that on my skin, and I've tried many many Niche brands, it's just my skin.

After spending yesterday in some sort of tuberrose/osmanthus hell which I am convinced must be one of Dante's chambers, today I reached for something in sharp contrast without those ingredients. I hesitated because of the rose, but since it's an Oud mix and with the absence of white flora, I thought it safe enough. I was right. This is lighter, woodier, definitely unisex. The rose and precious woods are masterfully mixed with hints of lemon. So far I am loving it. I can see this as a good frag for all seasons, except the Texas summer. It is refreshing and pretty with a oudy twist. I'm only 1 hour in to the adventure, so this review is far from complete, but this seems to be a fragrance I would be proud to wear in large groups. I can't stop smelling myself.

Expected more from this but its still very nice and the dry down is more interesting, strong sweet rose to start off but not heavy like a montale. I found that after about 5 or 6 hours later the smell of a typical rose oud came out and the smell intensified somewhat, reminded me of a stronger Maubussin Crystal oud at that point. which unlike Gold intensitive is very linular until the end. good longevity with this and good projection. could still get the rose vibe on my clothes next morning but only slight. would i buy again ? not really as i already have a few rose perfumes and i prefer darker rose and mild oud. leans more femanine i think until the 5 hour mark then more masculine

#267 in my "Tour de Fragrance" Got this in a sample spray-ette. If you can get past the association of rose scents with elderly women, this is a somewhat pleasant floral scent after the first few minutes. Ditto on those noting a hint of laundry pod. In the opening there's a burst of chlorine that actually made me choke for a second. Once that evaporated the saffron, musk and powder came forward, and it's not bad, but nothing I want to wear. Definitely more feminine than unisex, though not so much that a man can't get away with it. I don't hate it, but I won't be picking up a bottle either.

1/06/2019 So I have worn this fragrance serveral times and this is my take. What I get is simple. I get a very nice polished wood smell that has been cleaned with a gentle citrus wood cleaner and put a vase of velvety red roses seating on that piece of wood. This is the perfect fragrance if you are new to oud and want to see what its about. Its pleasant and even though it has Intensitive in the name its gentle. Its a crowed pleaser, not to stronge not to soft just right. It is perfectly unisex because of the nice balance of wood and rose with that touch of citrus.

This is very nice rose fragrance, and completely unisex without any doubt. When I smell it I can also find frankincense as well some reviewer mention about mint, actually it's frankincense as when smell it, it gives you cool vibe to your nose. There is something in background put me off but I am not sure what is it! Overall good fragrance with moderate projection and performance. In my personal opinion it shines more on woman's skin than on man's skin

Wore this last night got 10/10 complements from two women. I personally like it alot its very rich smelling and exotic. Worth a blind buy imo.. Please please Please ONE spray ONLY... MAX TWO SPRAYS.... this can become cloying and nauseous to some women.(Because I got excited and sprayed too much after seeing the other positive reactions., 8/10 for me. I wish the rose was more intoxication like a fresh rose. Its a bit heavy at times

A wonderful fregrance with great projection and longevity at a very reasonable price. A very unique take on oud and rose that gives a very sophisticated and high quality vibe. It also reminds to me like fresh warm clothes that just came out of the dryer.

It reminds me of MDCI Cuir Cavalier in the dry down, about 70% or more. That one is more masculine, more powerful, more refined and obviously a lot more expensive.

Pipernigrum- this is a fantastic cologne and probably it doesn't work with your body chemistry or either you have a really bad taste.
