Melody Of The Sun

This is probably my favorite summer Mancera. It's just so uplifting, bright, sunny and automatically puts me in a good mood. This longevity is good for a freshie, projection is moderate and it's scent trail although not monstrous by any means is quite pleasant. Here's the thing about complaints about longevity, sometimes a house's reputation can work against them. Yes this house is known for ridiculous longevity and projection, but in context those fragrances are usually Oud based, or sweet bombs or tobacco/booze etc.., of course they are going to last more than a citrus based scent. For a freshie you can't expect 10+ hours longevity. On my skin with MOTS I get around 4-6 hours and it works best in heat (hot summer days). Back to the scent: this is in the same scent profile family as NR bleu noir EDP, so if you like that cologne you will probably like this one (with much better performance). But wereas bleu noir is heavier on musk base, this is more airy and citrus based. I am NOT saying they smell the same, just in the same family. They are like 3rd cousin, and vetiver senuel is like a 5th cousin. As far as gender, I would consider this a down the middle unisex fragrance, any gender can use and enjoy. I liked Sicily but that came across as more feminine to my nose and this is definitely more masculine than that fragrance. If you like non-sharp citruses that are airy with some woods and a tad bit of fruit, get a decant a sample it, you might just pick up a bottle.

ONE (1) (UNO) SPRAY (first spray ever) on my neck and chest area, wore this for 12 hours, came back after being out for the entire day and went for a shower and came out still smelling it (and this was after me sweating buckets the whole day in hot, humid weather) and I’m a very intense scrubber too in the shower as I have germaphobia. And it’s not an intimate projection either as my family could still smell it after I came back and asked and they were sitting like an arms length away. Again, ONE SPRAY. This perfume is so criminally underrated, it smells great for all occasions as it is not overbearing and I love it. I was wearing another perfume on my wrist and in comparison, that had long faded within 8 hours and I even sprayed twice.

I really like this one, i jus like herbal and citrusy fregrences in general but this is so much better than the rest, and it lasts quite long 6-8 hours (the hotter the weather it lasts and performs better) i love how it opens up with refreshing lemon and lavender and in few hours settles down to very herbal and green middle that lasts round 2-3 hours on me and closes down with dry light musk 8/10 One of the best summer fregrences

First wear tonight and I really enjoy it. Fresh, clean lemon scent. My longevity was outstanding but projection wasn't great. It's still a pretty strong skin scent 8 hours later. The closest thing I can compare this to is Soleil d'Italie. Both are unisex to me. But if Soleil d'Italie leans a tad masculine, MOTS leans just a bit feminine. It's a mood lifter for sure. Great for warm spring and summer days.

This is a really good fragrance for a calm spring/summer day. Calm in the sense that it’s not high stimulation, you don’t need need to impress people, and just a refreshing blend of citrus and tea and all that good stuff. Personally I can’t stand super strong citrus scents for summer, so a nice blended citrus is something I can really appreciate, so this one especially stands out to me. Just really nice.

Lemon, Tea, Grapefruit, and Lavender are the main notes I get from this beauty! This is a clean, fresh, citrus in the dry down with a little more fruitiness in the opening. It gives JHAG Pear Inc vibes but with lavender and less pear. I finally found a perfume where the lavender shines without a vanilla weighing it down! If you like JHAG, Byredo Bal D’Afrique, & Light Blue, give this a try!

If you want a longer lasting Wulong Cha by Nishane with the same quality ingredients for half the price, get this NOW. if you want a $20 rack store scent that smells like both, go for 78 Vintage Green by Banana Republic. Mancera is my pick out of all three...price-for-value, bottle design, longevity/sillage and the amount of juice you get. 9.5/10....Spring and Summer only

Wow, I wasn’t expecting this! The opening is truly amazing. The combination of green tea and lemon is fantastic, reminiscent of Lipton Ice Tea Lemon in a bottle. It’s very refreshing and energizing. This fragrance is a hidden gem. It’s perfect for any weather and is a great unisex option, especially if you enjoy tea and citrus scents. I highly recommend this one.

A lot of the reviews almost deterred me from trying this. I am glad I bought the decant. It is beautiful. The only way I can describe it is how a lazy summer Sunday may feel. Where you sit in bed with the window open as the breeze blows through. probably my favorite scent that I have tried so far. 10/10

Wulong Cha's distant cousin. They don't really smell the same, just the same idea of citrus, tea, and musk. This is more subtle in everything that Wulong Cha offers. Think of Melody of The Sun as an acoustic guitar, while Wulong Cha is a pipa, and they're both playing Aqueous Transmission by Incubus.

very sweet & silky, brilliant summer fragrance citrus notes really come through on initial spray from the grapefruit & lemon combo alike skipcon says the most prominent note being blackcurrent for the rest of the day, a fragrance for daytime in beer gardens etc & easily could be bought by both sexes

Very fresh, and wearable for both men and women. Starts with lemon and grapefruit, and hints of tea afterwards. Jasmine tea and lavender blended so well that this is absolutely fantastic. I love the name Melody of the Sun too, it really is a bright perfume. My husband loves this too

Perfectly unisex fragrance, the opening leans male but then it is more feminine and after it dries it is perfectly unisex in my opinion. Even though some say its way too feminine, the scent is perfect in my opinion, it is super well blended although I wish it wouldve lasted longer.

This stuff is so good. I never have been a fan of Wu Long Cha as it is way too bitter and soapy for me, but this stuff takes that and makes it sweeter and way less bitter. Honestly might be one of my favorite summer scents ever. Longevity is alright but overall I'd give this a 9/10

Just to mention that this is nothing like Oligarch or Wulong Cha at all. Ya, can see the comparison to vetiver sensual but not super close. In the beginning it is somehow sweeter with less vetiver, but dry down is different.

I loooove this perfume!its soothing, fresh, its screams summer. Doesn't have the sunscreen smell. When I received my bottle I was so surprised in a good way. everyone should own this bottle.

Smells absolutely lovely. Fresh and summery- it's like if the bath and bodyworks orange + ginger scent got a major reupgrade. It smells like a girl I'd want to be friends with.

More balanced and complex citrus. Perfect summer scent for me, citrus, aromatic, warm-weather geared without being blue. Shame it doesn't last long or project much.

Sampling Mancera Melody of the Sun, a 2022 release and a very agreeable freshie, a pleasant blend of citruses, lavender, tea, jasmine, cedar, musk, and mate, a good balance of teas, citruses, florals, and woods, a bit bright, but not too sharp, one that could easily be worn to excess, a nice wake-up on a warm weather morning but not obtrusive. Still, it’s not among the more interesting freshies from the house, upon reflection, but it’s certainly easy enough to like, just perhaps not love. As with almost the entire catalogue, concentration is EDP and retail pricing is $200 for 120ml in the US through the house website and great boutiques like Olfactif (from which I purchase my sample), though it’s available via a handful of grey market sites as well. I’m really quite happy to try most whatever Mancera/Montale release, even though most of what I smell from them ends up being good—not great, not mediocre. If you’re in the market for an agreeable freshie, I see no reason not to include this in your sampling, but it’s not a huge standout for me in terms of scent profile. 7 out of 10

I was 19 when my mom discovered Elisabeth Arden's Green Tea and ultimately turned it into her signature scent. Ever since then I have a soft spot for the fragrances build around the combination of tea and citruses. They remind of my mother, they calm me down, they make me feel the tenderness of her. It's a combination that almost can't go wrong. And Mancera got it right as well. The citruses in Melody of the sun are incredibly smooth and blend nicely with the sweet pear. They are not offensive, they are not sharp, not zesty, neither astringent. Their task is to lift the green note of the tea, which is the real star here and carries well into to the soapy, musky dry down. It is soothing, likeable, nostalgic, poetic, clean, quiet, intimate and really well blend perfume, but it does not bring much new into the genre, can be a tad boring and a bit too familiar and really simple. But I still like Melody of the sun and the chances are high, that you will like it too. I wish it it would perform better, but all in all, solid release, 7/10. Perfectly unisex summer day scent.

#865 in my "Tour de Fragrance" Got this as a decant from FragrancesLine. I have more than a dozen bottles of different Mancera scents and that number will probably double by the time I work my way through them all. In general they're solid performers and most are unisex, including this one, though it leans a bit more feminine than I prefer. Moderate projection, longevity makes it to lunch as I expect of an EDP, lightly green and floral, strong tea notes. Car pool, elevator and small office safe, but you'd overspray this a bit if you really want it to get noticed. I like it fine. Nice clean vibe, but not sexy at all. I would think office wear for women, but I don't think most men will want to wear this to work. Maybe date night. Not a priority bottle buy for me. I'll pass.

Sweet lemon tea backed by florals, Off the rip this is a lemon citrus bomb, then I picked up on the tea note, then the moderately sweet floral backbone of the fragrance came through. I was originally getting strong projection and longevity out of my bottle, but after using it a few times, I've either become slightly anosmic, or getting some oxygen in there changed it. Now it's coming across much lighter and I'm only getting around 6 hours of performance. I even tried spraying it on a little heavier and that didn't seem to matter much. My recommendation is pretty simple: if you like lemon tea and florals, you'll probably like this. Overall it's nothing revolutionary. If you want an easy entry point into Mancera, this is a great choice for those warmer months.

This is basically Mancera's take on the citrus & tea DNA. If we're talking about the scent alone, it's absolutely gorgeous. It's a well-balanced, smooth, and calming fragrance. It has the perfect balance between citrus tartness, fruity sweetness, and a touch of greenness from the tea and white florals. This would be a 10/10 release, IF MANCERA DIDN'T BUTCHERED ITS PERFORMANCE. On my skin, the longevity is... Alright, but the sillage and projection are basically almost nonexistent, and I know I didn't go noseblind on it. Overall, this is a nice fragrance from Mancera if you want something that is fresh, soothing, spray-and-forget type of fragrance. And, be prepared to overspray a lot.

If the sun could be heard, which melody would it give us? A joyful, warm, bright melody. What if this melody was meant to represent the first, shy rays of dawn? I really liked Mancera's interpretation of it: citrus notes, made juicy by fruity notes and yes, “guilty” of a feeling of well-being, of a warm smile, with touching notes of lavender and green tea. A light, fresh, and timid fragrance, like those rays that come out and slowly warm our hearts. “Sunrise” painted by Edwin Church.

The opening here is very citrusy and sweet refreshing just like Vetiver Sensuel, Aqua Wood and Soleil Ditalie. On the drydown it has very beautiful floral greentea mix that give you an inmpression of jasmine iced lemon tea in hot day. But the problem here is the weak performance. Its weaker than Aqua Wood, Soleil Ditalie and Sicily but much expensive than other. I hope Mancera could make the Intense version with a mix of smoky oolong tea that last longer, like Wulong Cha by Nishane.

Perfect for going out on a summer day! Perfectly unisex. I honestly don’t see much similarities to Wulong Cha x as people have mentioned other than they both contain tea and citrus but Wulong to me is clearly orange not lemon and is more complex. Also Wulong is a lot stronger. Definitely in the same vein but not redundant. This has light to moderate projection but lasts 8 hrs or so if you use a lot of it.

Sample this and wear it for a day. It smells like lemon with bitter tea notes. Very screechy and doesnt last long. After 3 hours, I can smell strong plain iso e super without any aroma oil accompanied with it. Not woth the price. I suggest to save up and get Nishane Wulong Cha or Wulong Cha X instead. Stronger, last longer, room filling but have smoother blend of lemon tea with some aromatic.

Very light fragrance, only lasts about 3 hours for me but I wore it to work today and two people said I "smell like a hotel" which I will take as a compliment. I don'y really see the similarities with Wu Long Cha maybe in the dry down. Overall, this is a good fragrance but weak performance, its definitely staying in the rotation but mainly using for layering.

This smells exactly like Under the Lemon Tree by MMM to me. It's a very sharp and slightly green citrus with some tea. Not sweet at all, very strong and lasts a long time for a citrus. Definitely unisex too. I recommend this as a cheaper alternative if you want the same scent profile as the Replica one.

Fresh and zesty lemon opening, along with some grapefruit As it dries the citrus notes are still present for a while along with the tea that gives the fragrance green and slightly tart qualities The lavender and cardamom contribute to the aromatic aspects and blend very well with the tea notes

I love the opening lemon fruity notes however the driy down is like suscreen. In the drydown it diverges from the tea forward note found in Nishane Wulong Cha. Too feminine for me to comfortably wear as a guy. I think this is b/c it lacks the musks found there.

Light, wearable tea scent - smells like a cup of cold green tea with lemons. This is very underrated and it is a scent that deserves more attention. Beautiful creation from Mancera and I usually find their scents too strong and sharp.

THE NEW HYPE BEAST FROM MANCERA? This could easily take over the hype beast throne from Cedrat Boise: An uplifting and positive perfume with a very fitting name - fresh, smooth, vibrant, extremely pleasant - 🎵 🌞

My nose isn't the most trained and I have tried only a few fragrances so far, but correct me if I'm wrong, but if Nishane's Wulong Cha and Kilian's Bamboo Harmony had a kid, this would be it. Nice fragrance btw

Smells amazing, but the performance is horrible, it is too faint, need to overspray to feel it. I'd love to buy the full presentation, but it doesn't seem worth paying more than $50ish

Light, tea-like scent, perfect for the summer. Leans slightly feminine but a man could still wear it. Only downside is the poor performance.

A nice citrusy fragrance. It doesn’t smell like Wulong Cha, but in the same family. I prefer this to Cedrat Boise.

Strong, artificial opening of lemon and grapefruit. Lavender oil easy to detect in the first few seconds following the citrusy notes. After 10 minutes the citrus notes tone down to something more neutral, jasmine, tea leaves, musk, amber... kind of like a spicy-camomille tea. The dry-down could remind of the high quality body oils used, thanks to the lavender, jasmine and musk present here. But the grapefruit and lemon stays strong for a while, it gets quite irritating. The opening reminds me of a Whole Foods lemon cleaning spray. Better at dry-down. Perfume is ok, great for summer. The + with Mancera : Have you noticed is it oily when sprayed? I took a long bath and still smelled! Ideal for summer. So much better when dried-down in my opinion. _____ Projection, sillage, longevity : 9/10 Originality, presentation : 5/10 Quality, value : 5/10 6.5/10

A pleasant aromatic fragrance. There's not really much I can say about this. I've been wearing it all day now, and I get this citrus at the top, with the blackcurrant definitely being quite obvious, and this stays throughout the life of the fragrance. I get a bit of the green tea, not as much as a thought I would. I thought being a Mancera fragrance this would really 'belt out' but it felt quite ethereal and thin to me. It has this slight muskiness to it too, which is in quite a few of their perfumes like Sicily or Wild Fruits. Maybe it's one to try again, and I will for sure. Quite underwhelming so far though. Projection is quite low for me, with longevity being good though. 2.5/5 for this.

A lemon Pledge opening with a hint of tea. Then it turns into a jasmine/floral bomb on me with no tea to speak of. The mate in the drydown is nice but doesn't show up soon enough. I'm sure Melody of the Sun will smell different on various skin types, but for me, it leans too feminine. I'll give my sample to my girlfriend, I'm sure it will smell great on her. Like bright springtime.

The opening is bright, lovely, and pleasant. However, the final drydown is meh. That wouldn't be a dealbreaker if the fragrance lasted longer, but you get to the end of the journey within 2 - 3 hours for this already-light fragrance. You can get a similar olfactory experience for less money.

Fresh, inoffensive, smooth and slightly sweet. I definitely detect the green tea note. Would suits both genres but it is really not performing like the usual Manceras. Overall I find it pretty generic, I will have to test it again. (Could be a good point for warmer months) For now, 6,5/10.

I get what people mean about this smelling like iced tea. It kind of reminds me of other women’s perfumes, but it does have its own unique vibe. Unfortunately, the projection is pretty weak—I couldn’t really smell it in the air and had to bring it close to my nose to catch it.
