Of The Wild

Five spritzes on a carded sample instantly revealed the soft heliotrope, sweet strawberry with a slightly vinyl edge, not plasticky btw, and the yummy toffee note. On skin, wear is more multi-dimensional. Strawberry and pear flirt in the air here and there, while the cling on skin is predominately a beautiful heliotrope toffee note so slightly powdery, fluffed up with vanilla pod. What makes this quite versatile is the musk, patchouli, vetiver combination that is both incensey and a little soapy. That earthy soapy aspect is reminiscent of some Xerjoff perfumes that I have smelled. Opera Xerjoff with peaches and ylang ylang has a comparable soapiness that is nice too. This is really wearable and pleasant. Obviously the unique gourmand elements make it very desireable.

I've already reviewed this perfume below but I've been wearing it lately a lot and need to confirm how well it makes me feel. What I noticed about it is that it looks a bit "grumpy" so I decided to pour a few drops of ginger essential oil in a decant to see the result. I adore the smell and taste of ginger. The result was awsome. Just like when you wake up totally after a cup of good coffee. The perfume did not change the smell necessarily (just a very tiny bit) but it immediately turned into a fun, flirtacious, uplifting and happy version of the original Of the Wild. What a lovely turn. I can clearly tell it's THIS perfume but much brighter. Now, I'm just testing them on my hand side by side. I will wear the ginger added version to see how it feels in the air.

Of the Wild smells a great deal like La Capitale by Xerjoff. However OTW lacks the bright opening and to my nose is none existent after an hour. I know that it projects off of my skin due to constant compliments, but I personally can't smell it? I have to press my nose against my skin in order to smell the sexy incense and patchouli dry down. I don't understand why I'm nose blind when it comes to OTW? There's a slight resemblance to Wild Cherry also from Mancera, but OTW is better. It's not nearly as powdery as Wild Cherry is. To me OTW is an improvement but again I can't smell it after awhile.

Even if they are not similar at all, the fragrance feels like a mix between Burberry Her Elixir and Soleil Blanc with a warm oriental twist. It's a sweet fragrance definitely for the hotter days. The strawberry is not super sweet and synthetic like in Mukhallat but much more powdery and refined. It's easily a crowed pleasure scent Mancera top tier longevity and sillage for sure !

Very sweet but in an airy way as if the air around you smells like this not someone's perfume. Very nice and interesting. I reach for it quite often and i feel extraordinary wearing it. Very appropriate for daily use and people around like it. FBW Update: I love it more day by day and yes, I got a full bottle of this beauty. Signiture scent worthy

I’m not a sweet gourmand enjoyer so was hesitant of this fragrance at first but it’s definitely not an overly juicy or candy-like sweet scent, which I’m grateful for. If that’s what you’re looking for, this is not your fragrance. Extremely versatile, which you’ll see reflected in the ratings. Good for all year, all day and night. Warm florals and fruit, with a musky sweet base. I wish it stood out a little more, it’s certainly not modern, and the note combination might be too varied to have a confident purposeful direction... But I really like this scent regardless. On paper, it stood out to me considerably. Fruity and floral, but then your skin gives it the warm depth. Overall a very friendly, pleasant scent that will probably pull compliments- but not exactly interesting in itself.

From a mens perspective, the opening is beautiful, you get a punch in the face by the sweet fruits, the clean musks and the gorgeous orange blossom! It ́s sad because once it starts to drydown, the beautiful opening notes were completely over taken by the jasmin and all I was able to pick was that suncreen DNA typical from mancera. You still can feel a sweet sourness in the background from the heliotrope but is very light. If you can abstract yourself from the jasmin, it very pleasant. If you love jasmin, it will be even more pleasant.

Just received it today 👍🏼. It is a much more likeable strawberry than the one in Mukhallat (personality I wasn’t a fan of) witch fades quickly and after a nice ripe pear takes over and stays for a long time. Indeed, it’s quite airy and light it doesn’t project very much on me (probably it will do better in the warmer weather) but it’s a BEAUTIFUL scent! 😍 perfect for spring/summer! Update: After few months it’s definitely not light any more...it lasts good! I guess being quite new it needed to sit for a while!

The top notes of this are sweet and fresh, a nice change from the citrus and aquatic styles I normally choose for my summer fragrance. Whilst the fruity base notes make this one start a bit on the feminine side it becomes more unisex when the toffee and vanilla become prominent in the dry down.

Classic feminine scent with lots of sweet and powdery notes. It smells cosy and slightly old-fashioned (think 90s or early 00s), but it’s a nice scent. Reminds me of my mom and her friends who used to wear Dior Poison, Kenzo Jungle etc. Follow me on IG: scent.guide

I’ve never liked strawberry perfumes. But the good news is, Of The Wild doesn’t even smell like strawberry. I mean, neither does it smell very good, but that’s by the by. It smells like a very typical modern designer feminine. The orange blossom is very prominent, thick and soapy, also very heady and cloying. Clean, spiky white musks join the party along with a vague sweet fruitiness - but no distinct identifiable fruit. It’s bland and tasteless, but not unpleasant. Mancera is a niche house for people who love current designer trends. This scent isn’t anything new or interesting, nor does it smell particularly well thought out. It just exists.

A unisex fragrance that opens with a clean soapy scent, maybe like heads & shoulders shampoo. Easy to like, but not especially interest. Mid and drydown just settles the soapy character more and doesn't develop to anything else. Nothing wrong with it, but its not memorable either.

This not a nice fruity gourmand strawberry perfume, don't be mislead. It is a bit old fashioned warm sweet ladies perfume, nothing special and exciting...

I was,once again,fooled by the notes (and the massive discount on this aaaand my nose). I had in mind this syrup,strawberry,decadent yet sophisticated. Instead, it’s more of a rich,white floral..Imagine a middle aged woman wearing this to a wedding(but a very stylish and rich woman,though a bit old-school). But alas, I enjoy generic perfumes and I can’t even distinguish notes so maybe dont listen to me lol.
