Ombre Tonka

I'm enjoying this. At first blush, it reminds me of cola with that spicy tonka bite backed by a vanilla sweetness. Dries down a bit more woody. The oud is very subdued to my nose (thankfully, as I'm really tired of oud). Doesn't project a lot right now but I can see this fragrance getting stronger over time.

Super sticky, ambery, sweet, oud perfume. I’m so confused by reviews that say there’s not much oud, because it’s so strong for me! I get a classic sweet middle eastern style scent, matched with typical Mancera beast mode performance.

Tonka Cola ile neredeyse aynı. Kalıcılığı daha yüksek. Açılışta fıstıkla biraz daha fresh açılıyor ama drydown aynı. Tonka ve fıstık seviyorsanız düşünmeden tercih edebilirsiniz oud'dan korkmayın. Ben yine de Cola'yı tercih ederim.

I've been wearing this one for a few days now and ready to share my thoughts. My first impressions was it was similar to Tonka Cola but I think it's shares the amber and tonka as main players initially so I reminds me of parts of TC but it's not the same by a good margin. Whilst Ombre has some sweetness it's nowhere near as sweet as TC for the entire life of the fragrance. On first spray the Bergamot is bright for a few minutes. Then the pistachio and Tonka come to the front coupled with ambery tones. At this point it does smell quite pungent in a good way and almost has a very slight spicy soapiness to it. That lasts about half an hour and then the rose comes in to round it out but never takes over, it's just a supporting note and it's very pleasant. I do get woods throughout the life of the fragrance, I can't say it's oud as there's nothing medicinal or skanky in any way. The pistachio fades away but the Tonka still leaves a nuttiness in the background. This is a smooth fragrance that is mainly amber through the mid I do pick up the Benzoin which also adds a slight balsamic nature and a really nice dusty touch. The amberwood comes out around the 3 to 4 hour mark and stays throughout the dry down making it an amber woody scent with muted sweetness from the Benzoin and Vanilla. I do really like how this one smells, more so in the mid and dry down. Performance wise, it's not beastmode. It's actually quite subtle after the first few hours. I'd say moderate projection for the first 11⁄2 hours then it gradually sits close to the skin. It seems heavy so I think the sillage is ok to the 4 hour mark but then after that it's a long lasting skin scent. Total longevity around 10 hours of subtle wear. Id be surprised if anyone will smell you from a distance after 5 hours. They're going to have to be in your personal space to detect. For me this one is a date night scent, it's quite a sexy and sensual fragrance and I think it was designed for this purpose. Not too strong but strong enough to reach across a table and draw a them in closer. It's perfect for close encounters. It will be interesting to see how the perfume develops with time sat in the bottle. I'm sure the longevity will improve but I'm not sure about the projection. I think this one will be more about sillage than projection.

I’m definitely an early adopter of this one. Bought it as soon as I could, and here we are. The pistachio in the opening is creamy and nutty, and plays nice with the amber tonka base that is prevalent throughout. I don’t get any oud from this at all, and Mancera oud usually stands out. I can’t write this review without comparing it to its obvious sibling. It definitely has some likeness to Tonka Cola, but the rose and amber wood help it do some things differently. This is less spicy and less sweet, is smoother and lighter (more daytime to TC’s nighttime angle) and again, has a really great rose note that folds in perfectly. It’s really good, and I don’t immediately regret owning both. Tonka cola is purely night/winter for me, but I could see this working days all fall long, and even the cooler start to spring. The longevity is good, easily hitting 8 hours, but I’m not smelling it the next day like I do with TC. Push is also good, but not a monster. To me, TC is a loud, strong, sweet cherry soda that is unisex AND somehow leans slightly masculine at the same time. This would be the remix that is unisex AND somehow leans slightly feminine, less in your face/more delicate like one would expect from my above experience. They really are two sides of the same coin. I look forward to some more wears of this bad girl.

The opening: extremely similar to Tonka Cola. It's like Tonka Cola without the fizz, it seems flat, like it's missing something. The drydown: sweet, ambery, slightly oudy. It's ok, but I love Tonka Cola so this one is really redundant for me.

It’s pretty rubbish...borderline stinks. But this is from the wearer’s perspective. My family thought it smelled rather unique and interesting. I see no resemblance to Tonka Cola, which I think is far superior. Ombre performs very well as you’d expect. Unfortunately pass though it looks good on paper. Will not be finishing my travel spray.

Just got this in the post today and am loving it. A slightly soapy opening but a strong ambery tonka to start with leading into sumptuous rose. I think this is going on my favourites list, a must have for Tonka lovers and also for those who like Amber. Reminds me of Feve Delicieuse!

This smells very similar to Dior - Fève Délicieuse. There’s no oud. Smells warm, powdery and almost has a cherry vibe. I don’t get any nuttiness from the pistachio. Smells very good and arguably better than the Dior! Great cold weather scent.

The pistacchio is definitely prominent in the opening but dissipates quickly. The drydown is like a neutered tonka cola without cinammon with much more caramel

Truly almondy at the beginning, also some bergamot. Nice... Then a ton of oud and patchouli. After a bit, it literally stinks.
