mmmmmmm. yummy. Ok. So I ordered a decant from fragrancenet because I couldn't find a full bottle for a decent price. Plus I didn't want to blind buy based on reviews. Well well well... Let me tell you, this was a success and now I found a two ounce bottle that I got for $30.00 US which is perfect because I don't want or need a 4 ounce bottle. This is gorgeous. It smells like you are getting ready to bake a chocolate cake from scratch and you just put the flour in the mixing bowl and are tearing off the protective seal from the coco powder. All of a sudden the coco powder makes a slight dust cloud. You get that powdery unsweetened but not bitter coco powder scent. However, you are standing next to a vase of roses that you have on your counter. Not really strong fragrant roses but more of a lighter rose scent. I used 4 sprays and had about 6 hours of wear time where I could still smell it before it disappeared like a yummy chocolate cake. The sillage stayed about arm's length on me. My hubby walked in after I sprayed it and asked if I was baking (I am not a baker). I sampled it on him too and it was really nice. Slightly sweet and stronger on the coco. This is a win! I wouldn't say this is a sweet gourmand fragrance at all but it is still a chocolate rose perfume without all the sweetness which makes this great for an all year scent.

I’ve been wearing this from a sample decant and am entirely and unexpectedly impressed. This was never on my radar or sample list until I saw it mentioned in a thread. On a dark, grey, winter’s day it definitely appeals. I am not a huge gourmand buff - leaning towards cleaner fragrances - but this is really lovely, soft and sweet without going too far. The chocolate note is evident at first spray but dry down is quick and I find there to be a sweet berry note that is prominent early on - a little bit like light, red berry cordial (not too syrupy though). This does not distract at all from the stars of the show Roses and Chocolate, which smell just gorgeous and pillowy when paired. This fragrance is aptly named for me because that’s just what I get. I would wear this sparingly - a couple of sprays at most. My only problem now is that I think I want a bottle!

What a great concept for a fragrance. I imagine Roses & Chocolate to be the perfect Valentines fragrance... so I bought a travel-size decant to try it out, since I am trying to not blind buy any Mancera/Montale's but I am determined to find the gems in their offerings... this is another average 6.5-7/10 perfume to me. Smells cheap (not niche) but it is kinda fun. It's basically as described below. But I would spray this on myself while hanging around at home, like I do with a lot of my "fun cheapies". I do not think this is worth $100, but if I find a full-size bottle for around $55-60 then I may spring to add it to my collection... or maybe I can find a better quality Rose+Chocolate fragrance since I love the idea but the execution here turns out to smell more like a celebrity fragrance.

I LOVE THIS PERFUME. I used this for the first time today and as soon as I sprayed it I was hit by a screechy medicinal note that alarmed me and my heart sank - stay with me, it does have a happy ending. Since it's development, it only took only a few minutes to start it's evolution, this has developed into beautiful fragrance. It's peppery - really deliciously so in fact, rosy with a dry chocolate (dusty chocolate?) note and it's divine. It's not too sweet at all, although it is sweet, it stops just short of tooth-achingly sweet thanks to the dark chocolate and pepper. Well balanced, fantastic blend of notes and a really good chocolate fragrance (I love gourmands).

Wow!!! Amazing and beautiful. It smells like valentines day, quite literally. Like a boxful of the fanciest chocolates, mixed with a great smelling bouquet of roses and flowers. It’s like I drove past the local CVS and went to the fancy mall downtown, and got the greatest selection possible. I got this from fragrancenet and very happy. My first ever mancera fragrance as well, wow this brand does not dissapoint! Great price for a beast mode fragrance. Date night, sweet, sexy and romantic. You’ll definitely reel someone in with this, or if you already have a special other, they’ll be more attached to you than super glue. Beast!

My gosh this is so so nice, so delicious 😋 If I blind tested this I doubt I would have recognised chocolate and roses. Cocoa powder and vanilla yes indeed, something powdery, something warm. I love this since the second I sampled it. It has this fruity opening, rosy violet powdery heart and a dusty cocoa, very dark cocoa and vanilla dry down. Powdery, floral, woody, sweet, edible, gourmand, vanillic. It is definitely my favourite this season. Good for a walk in October, for shopping, for going out, for work. So versatile and absolutely adorable. I love love love Roses and Chocolate.

The opening chocolate in this is a different type of chocolatey, it took me awhile to figure it out, I thought of Tootsie Rolls or brownies and baked goods, but when I read below someone comparing it to chocolate flavored protein powder and I was like “damn! That is it!” After 10 minutes though it changes and becomes way more rose centric. It is totally unisex but for a man on its own I’m not too sure, but as a layering frag it’s great especially with YSL La Nuit de L’Homme. For a woman this would be great, it’s not too fem and it’s something that I keep wanting to smell more of.

Wow,this is beautiful... my first time that I feel a Mancera perfume. Chocolate is evident,cocoa powder,with a sweet and a bit dark. Violet gives a bit of mystique, the rose is there but in a light way in my opinion... seductive scent, unique and sweet and knows also be dark. In its complexity is perfectly versatile, huge sillage and longevity ... I recommend to all who love the gourmand, and fragrances with chocolate notes..I like it! Sillage: 9./10 Longevity: 9./10 Scent: 8./10 Overall: 8./10

This has actually become one of my favorite chocolate fragrances. I've tried quite a lot of niche chocolates and have ended up getting sick of many of them (I'm picky with chocolate perfumes I guess) but I keep coming back to this one. This is unique and easy-to-wear. I like this much more than when I first tried it. I need a full bottle - I've gone through my 10ml decant. Surprised this isn't more popular.

I love this fragrance. Perfect example of gourmand at its best! Chocolate, chocolate and more chocolate with rose. The rose is not intensive but it is always lingering in the back ground. This is a very sweet, yummy fragrance that I can not get enough of. My husband really likes this one, especially before bed. lol Enormous projection, lasts all day or night. Very well worth the cost.

Oh my lord in heaven, this is just gorgeous, I mean are you kidding me !!!! I've never smelled anything like it my life , maybe a hint of rose jam jam in there , but there this oily kind of smell but it's so beautiful , don't think about buying this , just buy it, if I were to say it smelled similar to something I'd have to say YSL Manifesto, so beautiful

IF SEX WAS A PERFUME🔥 Does anyone need a better explanation than that??!! IMO, this is a masterpiece!! Well balanced sweetness between chocolate, rose and vanilla... Perfect for Valentines day and close encounter scenarios😈 Eaaasily in my top 10 favorites of my collection and a must have perfume for life!!

This is a dark chocolate for me! There are so many “chocolate” perfumes which just smell sweet but this one has this colder feeling to it. I guess it’s the rose that gives this effect. Really nice. If you want a dark chocolate perfume, go for it!

this may sound crazy but this fragrance reminds me of Britney spears fantasy... I get the lovely chocolate and guava juice/kiwi... this fragrance smells really unique i love it, need to be in a certain mood to wear this.

I’m shocked I’m actually enjoying this. The sillage is much nicer than smelling it up close. The vibe is a fruity slightly floral cocoa. Seems a bit light, but perhaps it needs to oxidize a bit.

Wow, this smells really good on my skin. But I get semi-sweet vanilla mixed with peach and light hint of chocolate. Definitely a seductive scent.

I received a sample today- I really like it! The chocolate is so real smelling yet you can smell the flowers coming through. Very nice!

This starts dry, nostalgic and powdery then it gets better and better throughout the 12+ hours longevity time... the opening smell like chocolate mousse desserts, chocolate whipped cream and exactly like the milk chocolate ice cream popsicle I used to buy when I was a kid... it's also very close to Cadbury chocolate drink/powder (the dark blue /purple container)... I was hoping the chocolate note to smell like Dutch cocoa powder (dark and coffee-ish or like the regular chocolate chips/bars) but it's not that type of chocolate it's more like a creamy milky artificial chocolate drink...it's not that bad it fades to an acceptable form /level after 30 minutes. Be prepared NO roses right away! I don't get any rose in the opening only a chocolate mousse note but after 30 to 60 minutes the (fruity note) starts to be very noticeable with the chocolate and balances the scent profile in a good way...the rose🌹 joins the party late like the beautiful woman who comes late to the party wearing red dress steals the attention and turns all the heads I was hoping she comes on time in the opening but it's fine better late than never! ... the rosy chocolaty late dry-down is the best part... I like this combo it's very smooth, alluring, velvety and unbelievably calming🌹🍫 This fragrance is like a journey, with many transitions over the 12+ hours... great longevity... very good quality...I think females would love it more... it's a more feminine girly type but I think men can wear it ... it suits cold weather or climate-controlled environment... more for special occasions, dates or romantic times... not for summer or hot weather. The opening: 7 /10 chocolate mousse dessert, Cadbury chocolaty drink opening... unexpected! The dry-down: 9/10 fruity chocolaty then rosy chocolaty creamy smooth dry-down. Overall 8.5 /10👍 I recommend testing it first. .

Finally got my full bottle of this after loving the sample. This is a slightly bitter dark chocolate, and definitely more powdered and cocoa-like than creamy, with an abundance of rose petals peeking through and some violets lost here and there. I definitely get the fruity nuances, but they are very subtle and just serve to round out and sweeten the fragrance a little more, you wouldn't really think of any specific fruits when smelling this, though peach and black currant seem like a decent interpretation. Overall this doesn't smell very edible: there's a slight plastic and synthetic quality there, but to me that's not a bad thing, it comes off as chic, shampoo-y and a bit supernatural (like Mugler's Alien). This gives strong Valentine's Day vibes and smells very romantic and seductive, like silk bedsheets, rose petals and a box of chocolates. Very unisex. I have to admit I get nose blind to the chocolate very fast, which is a shame, but knowing that I will smell delicious to other people is good enough consolation!

I find it takes a solid 20 minutes for this perfume to really blossom into something beautiful. What I get with this one is powdered cocoa, not the sweet milk chocolate kind in Montale's Chocolate Greedy or Mugler's Angel Muse. I find this cocoa note remains throughout the entire journey, but after the 20 minutes it does calm down and blend more with the florals. At that point it becomes very well blended, but the final product really does depend on the wearer's skin. My best friend and I tested this at the same time. On me, it was more chocolate and faded quickly. On her, it was more floral and lasted a long time. The curious thing is that I could smell it on her, but she couldn't smell it on herself. I wonder if the same thing happens to me and that's why I think it fades?? Anyway, this is a beautiful perfume for a date night, a cold winter evening, or for February (Valentine's). Warning: I don't think this is a safe blind buy because it is certainly "different", but it is pretty.

Mancera Roses & Chocolate is loyal to its name, but not to a fault, since the rose and chocolate are not each so pronounced to overwhelm. Rather, the violet blends in smoothly and creates a unisex, albeit slightly feminine blend that performs pretty well as an EDP, generally for winter wear, though it's not so cloying that it couldn't be used on summer evenings. This isn't a fragrance I would often reach for, as the perfect rose/chocolate blend already exists in Tom Ford Noir de Noir, but it's nonetheless a pleasant deviation from NDN in the addition of violet and a few other elements, such as peach and blackcurrant, though for me, violet represents the main distinguishing characteristic from other similar fragrances, I imagine. Tempting if on sale again at Notino for under $50 for 120ml, but I doubt I'll even buy it at that highly discounted price (contra $160 or so retail. Still, a nice entry unlike other rose fragrances I've smelled. 7 out of 10

When I sprayed this fragrance, I only saw about roses, but the chocolate note was so obvious, that it's full name wasn't a surpise. It starts from chocolate note with a hint of roses. The chocolote note is bright, but not too heavy. Only unfortunately later it becomes peachy. I like the thing that this fragrance has a perfumised chocolate, not like food. More chocolate than in Thierry Mugler "Angel" but something like this. I mean not like a real food. First I liked more Roses Greedy, but I wasn't need it, because I have more interesting roses fragrances. But Roses Chocolate doesn't go out of my head because its chocolate note. I think that I will buy a bottle soon or lately:) Because to smell roses with chocolate - mmm...

So I got this bottle . I spray it and I get an aromatic patchouli chocolate, the rose is there to freshen it up . I kept getting a reminder that damn it ive smelled this before and then it hits me Rochas Man . This is the Niche version of Rochas Man. The top notes are there but they fade away pretty quick what your left with is a sweet chocolaty coffee aroma . I would put the rose in the base but it's so light it's almost undetectable, I probably notice it more in the top at first. So to my nose this smells like Rochas Man sweet smooth chocolate vanilla coffee .But this lasts 8 hours plus

This is a very pleasant fruity chocolate mix. It smells like what a block of milk chocolate with fruit and nut bits tastes like. On me the fruit is more obvious than the roses. Its smooth without any rough edges and doesn't have any hidden surprises during its lifetime on me. Gourmand/chocolate lovers should be very happy with this scent. I find this to be a much more realistic chocolate bar scent than Rose Rebelle, without the weird plastic note in RR and not as overwhelmingly sweet as Montale's Chocolate Greedy. Sillage is rather quiet for me and longevity moderate.

A very interesting scent. It's powerful and longlasting. It's one of the best rendition of chocolate note, nothing to share with most chocolate scents around. The accord with rose is just perfect, a very well balanced gourmand. I'm not sure I would wear it on a long term or constant basis, but it's surely a very high quality and original perfume. My bf gave it thumb down. Tastes are tastes, but if you're looking for a scent that keeps you captivated look no further and test it (before buying). Not for faint wallpaper flowers.

Now this isn’t something that I’m use to. It’s out of the ordinary, unusual. Upon first spray I didn’t know what to make of it but now I am in love. It does smell weird at first spray but it morphs and the dry down is lovely. It does have a similarity to the green, black currant in YSL Manifesto. I can’t stand something in Manifesto and I do not like black currant but I like Roses & Chocolate. Not an overwhelming Rose note which I am happy about. When this fragrance dries down it is intoxicating.

Start is pure chocolate mixed with powdery, soapy, subtle roses. The chocolate is dark with a hint of alcohol. Very La Perla Dark Extacy like - my immediate association. Then it turns musky, and more notes start to be present. At this stage it is just like Good Girl by Herrera. Very beautiful. Chocolat Mat is muskier and less charming, Fleur de Chocolat is more floral and subtler. Choco Violet by Mancera is dryier and more wafer-like. Chocolate Greedy is more hot chocolate mug.

Anyone familiar with Mancera’s great rose fragrances (see Black Line) will feel short changed here. Not much rose here. Its chocolate sure, accompanied by something rooty and vegetal like iris root. Like someone set out to make Dior Homme Intense but ended up choosing the wrong type of iris and ended up making something partly pleasant, partly odd. Eventually it fades to just the chocolate note. Nice enough to sample but not bottle worthy

It opens with...chocolate! I can smell some flowers but they are still unrecognizable. Maybe the rose and the peach makes me think of jasmine. Its a different fragrance to have. People will smell chocolate on you, no doubt about it, but t still has a powdery/floral background. At times it has the heaviness of perfumes from the 80's, at other times it smells like a fun novelty fragrance.

Wow, I am surprised how much I enjoy this one! Opens with an incredibly realistic chocolate and dries down into a clean springy rose, very modern smelling. Sits close to skin but seems to last all day - chekc this out if you aren usually a big rose fan like myself! Edit: does this remind anyone else of TF Noir de Noir? Definitely does for me the next day. Really great stuff here!

I'm very excited to have discovered Mancera, its so far the best niche line next to Serge Lutens imo... i love their different woody creations. Plus i find it more unisex than some others. However, this little beauty is different one, very pretty creamy milk-chocolate floral, delicious for these special nights you literally want to smell good enough to eat.

On me this is a fresh, green rose and a dusty dark chocolate, with a bit of peach to sweeten it up. There’s also a violet note contributing to the dustiness of this one. In my opinion this is not a sweet fragrance, but a slightly bitter dark chocolate, and maintains a good balance of floral and gourmand. Projection is moderate and lasted all day on me.

Great fragrance. Solid longevity and projection,Mancera and Montale will not dissappoint you with the performance. Smells like chocolate,sweet and with roses. Quite interesting smell,good for colder weather. After trying so many brands,even in the high price segment,i can definately say that mr.Montale's brands are one of the best if not the best.

I find it vaguely chocolatey and rather rosey, I definitely sense something a little similar to YSL Manifesto as well which I am not crazy for. Had I not known this was called Roses & Chocolate I don't think my mind would have gone there.

Opening smells like ysl manifestó not a fan of it but i quickly changes. It setles into a soapy chocolate with hit of rose. It's ok. I might sell it. Not sure maybe it needs maceration like most Manceras. I will update

This for me smells like that vanilla from jean paul gaultier le male plus a strong peach chocolate scent .. you get the rose in the dry down .. a good smell after all .. leans a bit feminine but not too much

Smells like a shower cream with peach smell and chocolate and rose vanilla thats it simple mass appealing kind of of the weaker side of mancera I m a male its quite feminine but i like wearing it

Okay so this is definitely a very niche and original fragrance. It smells very unique and you won’t really find anything similar. Before smelling it, I assumed it would smell like roses vanille, with added chocolate and fruits. But it’s definitely very far from that scent profile. I will try to describe this as best as possible. It is not your typical sweet rosey chocolate scent, so don’t buy it expecting to get that. At first sniff, your nose will feel confused and it does take some time getting used to it. It smells like cocoa powder, with a strong sour synthetic peachy shampooey background. It’s a bit powdery from the violet and has a tangy smell to it. 🍫🍑🧴This might sound weird but my nose feels tangy after smelling it. Dark cocoa powder, synthetic sour fruits, shampoo, violets. That’s the best description I could come up with. It’s also very unisex, so if you are a man don’t let the notes scare you off, you can definitely pull this one off.

Most people here seem to adore this perfume and I was pretty sure so would I. Roses&Chocolate was supposed to be delectable and mouthwatering and I expected the vibe of dark chocolate melted over cubes of rose-scented Turkish delight and maybe sprinkled with some candied violets (think of Empress Elizabeth). What could possibly go wrong? Well... What I got instead of a gourmand, chocolatey feast was cocoa - ground violet powder and just a hint of rose somewhere in the background. The opening is harsh, powdery and in fact, reminds me of some kind of a cleaning agent indeed, the next phases are similarly underwhelming and just not remarkable enough. Maybe it's my skin chemistry, but all I get from this scent is synthetic banality, and compared to other Mancera fragrances that I tested, the longevity is also unsatisfying.

Oh, how much i wanted this perfume to turn out differently from reviews here - magic didn't happen. It is exactly how people describe it - artificial chocolate, not much to add. I have a "Dolce Milk Chocolate" cream and it smells exactly the same. Even though, for that cream i spent like $1.75 and for this perfume i spent at least 5 times more, only for 1 ml to try. Not a big loss, but you can see my point here - a cheap cream smells the same as this perfume. Is it a standard for Mancera? As for notes, i smell the rose in the beginning, but 10-15 minutes later it's gone. 30 minutes later all you can smell is cheap chocolate and some juiciness that makes this scent more soft and acceptable. Big disappointment for me.

This is just meh. The chocolate note in the beginning quite odd, it smells like chocolate flavored protein powder and it's not a good thing. It turns into something like a cheap deo spray, like the mixture of chocolate Axe and some rosy female Nivea deo. Definitely unisex and really not my cup of tea, but it's not that unpleasant. Meh.

Very dark, thick chocolate opening. Dense harsh chocolate, nothing too exciting.. Amore Caffe is a better package overall. Coffee-sweetness with a strange floral, until mid/drydown it turns to a soothing rose scent, very pleasant The problem is it doesn't develop to anything special that makes me want to respray it, not bottle-worthy.

I've wear this plenty of times before and I'm the type to appreciate perfume for their artistry. This smells like Chocolate and Rose but to my nose now since I been wearing loads of oud oil this 🙃 smells like Cheetos to my nose...somehow I love it 😀

An unexpected yet irresistible pairing opening is vibrant the dry down is comforting and sensual. from my opinion, it's luxurious, memorable and confidently different. Over all 8/10

Here I find a dark, soft and tender chocolate-note wellmixed with roses, violet, musk, vanilla and Blackberry. The Chocolate-note reminds me of the dark chocolate-note in TF Black Orchid - but this one is a bit more tender. I don't find it overwhelming sweet - I find it just perfect. A parfum to wear almost year around - maybe not the hottest summerdays. In my opinion not unisex but for a daring man I say try - and maybe put a woody scent on layer. Happy to own this one. Här hittar jag en mörk, mjukvarm chokladnot som är välmixat med ros, viol, musk, vanilj och svartavinbär. Chokladnoten påminner lite om den i TF Black Orchid men här är den mjukare. Tycker inte att den är speciellt söt- jag tycker den är perfekt faktiskt. En doft att bära nästan året runt förutom de allra varmaste sommardagarna. jag tycker denna är feminin men för en modig man så säger jag -prova, gärna med en träig doft lager på lager. Jag e jätteglad över mitt inköp.

Apparently this is a chameleon. Maybe it needs to sit awhile before it comes into its own, but I don't like it enough to spend $100 bucks and wait on top of that. On me, chocolate is very sharp and fake, no powdery, then an artificial shampoo rose. Not a lot of sillage, but that rosy smell lasts and lasts. Not what I had imagined. I bought Mancera Choco Violette and was really surprised. It's a lovely powdery chocolate/violet confection that I love to wear to bed. So comforting. But the rose one missed the mark for me. Returned it, you might not want to blind buy. It's being sold at higher prices bc it's getting harder to find. May just be Mancera doesn't agree with my nose, I only have two ~ Choco Violette and Velvet Vanilla, more of the fun type that I wear to bed or around the house for comfort.

12MAR2021 9:00 Mancera, "Roses & Chocolate" Not a safe blind buy, especially if you are into niche/more natural-smelling fragrances. This smells harsh/synthetic/cloyingly sweet. I do not like the note combinations, as well. It is a scrubber for me. I put on a tiny dab from my dabber decant. I can already tell that performance is nuclear (longevity/sillage) as most Mancera fragrances are. This reminds me of a laundry detergent... I don't know what else to say. I could not tolerate this one past 30 minutes...I had to scrub it off.

This is such a weird perfume. It starts off with a horrendous bitter and dusty cocoa powder scent that overpowers everything. Thankfully that fades quickly, and the roses start to come through. But for me they’re an old-fashioned rose-and-aldehyde type, not really my cup of tea. There’s a hint of chocolate and vanilla left, I get some of the mandarin, musk, and violet. I don’t like it, but I don’t hate it. I don’t think it’s for me, but if you can get past the opening, the dry down is pleasant enough.
