Royal Vanilla

Royal Vanilla by Mancera is a jammy rose wrapped in sweetness. To me, it smells like a fresh, sweet donut glazed with icing and topped with pieces of lemon zest. It is very sugary and fizzy, yet bright citrus notes cut through the sweetness, preventing it from becoming overwhelmingly heavy. I also detect a creamy, slightly greasy note reminiscent of classic Nivea cream, blended with vanilla sugar. The result is soft, comforting, and indulgent. This fragrance strongly emphasizes femininity — it feels flirtatious and playful. Because of that, it is definitely not a work-safe scent. It’s more suited for evenings, dates, or moments when you want to feel alluring rather than professional. It can also be worn during the day — but rather on a day off, filled with pleasure, indulgence, and little luxuries, not responsibilities. This is a distinctly feminine fragrance, best suited for younger women and those up to around 40 years old. The scent is quite piercing to the nose, but never annoying. It doesn’t cause nausea or headaches for me, which is something I truly appreciate with sweet fragrances. This is exactly how I imagined Delina Exclusif would smell. Unfortunately, Delina disappointed me — while Mancera completely captivated me. I also see here comparisons to Mancera Roses Vanille, but to me they are quite different. I owned Roses Vanille, and on my skin it felt dull, heavy, and overwhelming. Royal Vanilla may share a trace of Mancera’s signature rose DNA, but here it comes across much lighter and airier to my nose. Royal Vanilla feels high-quality, long-lasting, and strongly projecting. It is a linear fragrance that doesn’t change much over time, but that actually works perfectly for me. Surprisingly, it performed very well even in the heat of the Maldives, although I prefer to wear this in colder weather, from autumn to spring.

I own Intense Cafe and this does share similarities but IMO this just smells better. Both are unisex with a fem lean, but I think out of the two RV is slightly more unisex and easier to pull off for a male than IC. Rich dense vanilla, that's sweet but not cloying sweet or even gourmand. Even though it's a bit redundant (since I own IC) I was able to purchase this today for black Friday at a discounter for 45 bucks for the 60ml which is perfect since I don't need the big bottle. I will likely sell my IC or give it away to a female friend. I've also sampled roses vanille and again prefer RV as it feels more complex (maybe because the patchouli note) and complete. The opening can be a little rough but only lasts like 5-10 mins before the magic happens. It has good projection but isn't a beast which personally I like since I don't want kill a room with this, but the sillage is great and the scent bubble is perfect. The longevity is great as well, easily 8+ hours on my skin. This is mostly a vanilla rose scent so you have to like those notes but I feel the rose is done in a nice way because usually rose can be hit or miss for males. This one isn't as rose centric as IC or rose vanille but it does add to the character. This is darker and for me personally, more satisfying.

Before biting the bullet with this one, I checked out reviews here & on YT. Let's just say the YT reviews were all over the place...one YTer (not naming any names) said this was a patchouli bomb, another said this was very intriguing. I disagree with both, even though I really love the scent. Tl:Dr - This is sophisticated, but I was expecting something different. A less-soapier and slightly more feminine version of Montale's 'Sensual Instinct'. Ignore the notes listed here. This is a very jam-like rose with a rich, chocolatey drydown. A bit sour, ambery & syrupy. It's not fresh, sweet & sugary like 'Roses Vanille'...neither is it dry, full of coffee like 'Intense Cafe'. Instead in the opening I even get some oud on my skin. Sticky-sweet, no powdery facets. It does have a rose/vanilla/amber DNA (mostly rose), but this scent has no close resemblance to 'Instant Crush'. As someone who owns 'Arabians Tonka', 'Roses Vanille' & 'Ristretto Intense Cafe'... They have the instant WOW factor for me. This also has it, however it's SO CLOSE to Montale's 'Sensual Instinct' that I'm slightly baffled with owning both. Another Tl:Dr: If you're looking for a less soapy and more feminine 'Sensual Instinct', go for 'Royal Vanilla'.

Firstly, forget about the Patchouli in this. There's none of that in here, or if there is; it's highly insignificant to the point that it might as well not be in. This fragance is 40% vanilla, 40% voilet, 20% amber. The violet probably takes priority over the notes chain here as that will most likely be the first thing you'll smell. Vanilla has the standard Mancera DNA and the amber you'll have to hunt out, but it's still there. There's 2 stages to this fragrance. The first is the spritzy, soft-drink esque opening that leans a bit more feminine due to the violet. This is definitely a unisex fragrance though and is borderline gourmand; but not quite. The second stage is the dry down of a fine blend of vanilla-voilet-amber trio that's fairly well blended but takes effort to distinguish one note over the other. It's not unique, but voilet-vanilla combo is interesting. It's heavy but not cloying. Probably a little too heavy for the office environment. Social outings or lazy, comforting afternoons would work. Definitely more Autumn/Winter however the bright voilet opening would work for Spring and Early summer.

My good lord in sweet heaven jesus.. what is this really so damn good. I can’t find the words. This is Montales sensual instinct, but much better This is mancera’s roses vanille, but much better This is mancera’s instant crush, but much better. It’s the much better version of all these three fragrances together! It’s amazing. Performance on my skin 10 hours EASY! I was very lucky yesterday, bought it second hand from someone, because it wasn’t for sale in the Netherlands and is exclusively on Mancera website only. I cannot say a lot about the silage, but I think people could smell it from the distance. I smelled it the whole day on my skin (while normally you get anosmic) 10/10 😳

Intense Cafe Montale lovers, Royal Vanilla is the back seat of a Rolls version. With the same Aoud Rose Petals Montale rose petals supporting a decadent vanilla, these two perfumes are close in nature. The violet in Royal Vanilla differs in that it is pronounced and ranges from sweet to soapy. So whereas IC includes a subtly acidic cafe note, RV makes way for a sweet violet that is on the order of Violette in Love and other traditional French candied fantasy purple petals. Amber of ambers in the later stages with what swelters into an intense cocoa note and soapy floral stems add to an upscale polishing not unlike that of petroleum plastiks. Waxy not lipsticky. Beautiful.

This ones an experience to me the opening is extremely harsh and even hits a little synthetic with the florals.But the drydown on this is amazing.It gets super powdery and smells great with the floral notes taking the backseat to the vanilla and amber.Gives about 10+ hours of longevity and it has some great performance,You will get noticed with this one on.Definitely not suitable for blind buying as it definitely leans slightly feminine and i can't say this would be everyones cup of tea.But if you want something airy with vanilla and some strong floral notes I'd recommend to pick this one up.

Caramel, Amber & Vanilla. Like opening a jar of caramel & taking a deep whiff. Very very close to Roses Vanille or Arabians Tonka. If I look for it, I can detect Rose Water also. But not a floral forward scent. Very pleasant, easy to wear. Don't spend an obscene amount on this but if you can find it, solid buy! I totally hear every single other reviewer here who's pointed out the likeness between Royal Vanilla and Roses Vanille, and for the first half hour, they perform quite similarly for me as well, although Roses Vanille has a jamminess to it that Royal Vanilla lacks. Where Royal Vanilla really sets itself apart for me is in the dry down. It is sweet, fluffy, airy perfection in a bottle, and it lasts forever. Honestly, the longevity is insane. I sprayed sometime last night around 9 p.m.-ish, it is now almost 11 a.m. and I can hold my arm six inches away and STILL smell it.

This is my top favourite House of Mancera scent Mint tingly freshness, slight honey-like sweetness, cherry / Dr pepper nuances. Opens beautiful and maintains it throughout. Sweet, uplifting and immediately engaging. Develops into a beautiful honey vanilla scent with unique minty fresshness, the contrast keeps the fragrance interesting and isn't heavy/cloyying. Dries down to a gorgeous blend of vanilla and subtle Dr pepper-like smell. Comforting and incredibly addictive. Its good throughout the initial sprayt to the end.

Regardless of the comparisons to Roses Vanille and others this is by far my favourite Mancera Fragrance and one of my favourite fragrances. It encompasses all of my favourite notes and on me this is pure heaven. I never get tired of wearing this and always get so many compliments. If you like vanilla and patchouli you can’t go wrong with this. It’s a beast mode scent with amazing sillage and stays on my skin for 12+ hours. On my clothes I have to wash them for it to fade.

It’s a nice vanilla scent. I only get a nice creamy vanilla and that’s it. Maybe a slight hint of woods and maybe some amber is what I get but that doesn’t take away the fact that this is amazing. Obviously most vanilla only based scents are leaning feminine but I feel like this one is a scent that guys also easily could wear. It’s done very nicely and it’s definitely unisex don’t get fooled by Fragrantica. Longevity is pretty good as well

Is it unique? No. Why? Because it's the baby of Sensual Instinct and Roses Vanille or Intense Cafe (either of them can be the father, paternity test is needed, hahaha :D). Is it unforgivable? No. Why? Because it's all I've been looking for in my whole life. Signature worthy. I can say thanks for the review of @olga.stratienko, I could risk the blind buy based on that and I totally agree with every word. :)

Really good fragrance, vanilla and amber natural smelling sweetness - but good for WOMEN. This is absolutely a feminine fragrance, do not buy as a man, I mean that amber gives it a touch of masculinity but for me it leans 20% male 80% female. Actually a really pleasant and sensual scent which I would like to smell on a women. Will give it to a female colleague. For me 8/10 (on a woman)

I think in order to enjoy this fragrance you need to enjoy the Mancera/Montale dna. Personally I love it because it reminds me of Montale’s Intense Cafe. No coffee at all, but the vanilla and rose combination is very prominent. I love vanillas and rose so I love it! I also like the incorporation of citruses to make it a bit fresher. For me this is definitely full-bottle worthy.

Definitely a slept-on GEM from Mancera. It's very reminiscent of Intense Cafe, but there's no coffee note and the any rose that I smell in the opening dies of quickly and I'm left with a warm and inviting, beautifully blended vanilla / patchouli scent that lasts for a very long time. 100% worth it, IMO. I'd give it a 9/10.

I don’t really smell rose in this (THANK GOD). I love intense cafe but the rose can be too much, especially the Montale/Mancera signature synthetic rose. This is more elegant and refined. Patchouli is here but not in a cheap clubbing perfume type of way. So nice, and I find it similar but more wearable than Arabians Tonka.

Why did it take me so long to get my nose on this??? it's awesome! I'd take this over Roses Vanille and Intense Cafe 11 times out 10. This is the final boss of this DNA. The patchouli, amber, and vanilla in the base makes me think of a softer sweeter YSL Tuxedo. Great fragrance!

This is an underrated Mancera! Every time I wear this I get compliments from both women and men. If you love vanilla fragrances but don't want one with rose in it (like so many manceras and montales have) then this is perfect. Its not a complex scent but its beautiful 💕

Extremely harsh opening, but the drydown is incredible. The rose is very prominent but blends so smoothly with the other florals and the vanilla. If you can get past the revolting first 15 minutes this is an incredible wear with top-notch performance.

Roses Vanille + a boozy, more masculine touch. about 85-95% the same. Difference comes in the mid and dry down, but if you sprayed it side by side, would be a bit challenging to tell the difference in the opening. Nice if you like floral fragrances.

A strong, jammy rose with vanilla that engulfs you in a sweet bubble. It’s impossible not to get noticed wearing this one. I don’t get any citrus thankfully. I find it performs much better sprayed on clothes and lasts all day and into the next.

Wintertime signature for sure. Only downside is that it is for some reason much more expensive than so many other manceras as like one of the only ones. Got it for 105 euros which is insane for an mancera but i guess it is what it is

If u have Roses Vanille you don’t need this 90% same rose combo maybe lil bit vanilla in dry down different but opening is the same so make a mistake buying this even if l have roses vanille

Doesn't smell all that rosey to me. I really like it and to me it's unisex. 8.5/10. Longevity and sillage are both really good.

I like it! Have not really played with this for long, but this kind of reminded me of Sensual Instinct and Amber Fever.

This is just okay for me. Nothing magical. I love the Mancera Velvet Vanilla though. It is smooth and buttery!

I finally got my hands on this bottle as it is very hard to come across in the states. With a name like “royal vanilla,” you expect a high-quality gourmand vanilla-smelling fragrance this is simply not the case. What I get with royal vanilla is a concoction of other Mancera fragrances such as roses Vanille and also vanilla exclusive. This was a letdown and it wasn't what I was going for which is a vanilla gourmand fragrance. Also, be aware this does not remotely or come across smelling like br540. The vibe it has at the beginning is Amber fever-like Essence just a tinge bit but it goes away. What I get are a heavy dose of roses Vanille and straight-up sugar cubes. I don't hate this fragrance, I just find it redundant that I own 3 fragrances from the line that have very similar characteristics that I get from royal vanilla which are - Mancera Rose Vanille - Mancera Vanilla exclusive - Mancera Amber fever (for a few minutes )

Very harsh and synthetic opening almost like a citrusy cognac that has been left in the open for a week. After about 10 minutes it settles down into a nice caramel and violet. I don't get any rose from it though, it might just be my skin chemistry. The orange blossom is quite prominent around the 20 minute mark. Then after about an hour and a half to two hours it drys down into a beautiful ambery vanilla. The patchouli adds a nice layer to the vanilla to give some character, and the white musk subtlety hides under all of that. I think this is a bit of a masculine leaning fragrance but only by a small margin , but I can understand why it is rated as unisex. I got about 9-10 hours of performances and decent projection for about 2 hours. This is a 8/10 fragrance in my opinion. The only this holding this perfume back is the extremely harsh boozy opening.

#861 in my "Tour de Fragrance" Got this as a decant from FragrancesLine. This is a leans-feminine, sweet, caramel-vanilla-amber unisex scent, one of at least a dozen Mancera makes, and I'd be comfortable wearing it, and I like it, though it's a bit rosier than I prefer. Kind of halfway from Amber Fever to Roses Vanille. And a half hour into the dry down it's virtually indistinguishable from Amber Fever which has more potency. Nevertheless I know a woman who'd love this on me. It's not old lady rosy at all. I assume men in the Middle East who are more accustomed to rose notes would be just fine with this. Moderate performance. Car pool, elevator, small office safe. I'd save it for casual wear, date night, not business. Probably not one I'll bother to own, since I already have a large number of vanilla-amber scents, but it's nice.

A bit boozy vanilla with honey and chocolate-ey patchouli... In the summertime, the violet leaf really shines through giving this scent a touch of wilderness. Not a safe blindbuy. It wasn't a love at the first sniff, but it grew on me & now I enjoy it. Mood lifting.. It's sweet with a metallic tinge and like a buttery texture. Very potent & leaves a delicious scent trail.. This is a UNISEX fragrance that gravitates feminine by sweet, caramel-vanilla-amber with a little hind of wood that makes is kinda unisex, It’s a scent that a guy can wear despite the feminine notes, for the love of vanilla and rose , this is a go to fragrance. This an alert where you wear it, you must be notices , and a compliment getter , which is sexy, seductive, conversational starter , ladies magnet for guys, yoooh...! ladies love this scent.

Sampled it and thought it's very nice! Good projection and longevity but it seems very disorganized and not well blended. Synthetic smelling. Very sweet. Almost sickly sweet. Would be good if you need something to project through the cold. But indoors it's just too much. One spray on my hand chokes me out for a solid few hours at LEAST. Definitely not a daily wear but could work for certain specific occasions.

A nice, synthetic vanilla mixed with honey. Rich and smooth. Upon opening, seems totally unisex if not a bit more masculine leaning thanks to a touch of what I think is patchouli. However, a bit of rose kicks in after a few minutes and it takes a turn for the feminine. After about an hour, it seems to find a balance. I have a 60mL and that’s more than enough.

Airy, boozy top notes settling down into a buttery honey-vanilla blend - you know the smell when you bake stuff with butter and honey - velvety, syrupy, yet slightly savoury and creamy? Yep, that delicious feeling, now in a bottle.

Definitely a boozy smell of this at start but i agree both man or woman can pull this , a good mancera fragrance .but if you dont like vanilla or white chocolate dont buy.

That rhubarb leaf and patchouli absolutely destroyed this fragrance and I am so sad because it had such a big potential but these 2 notes made it from a 9.5 to a 6.5

The roses are a stand out in this one. It reminds me of Fenty by Rhianna only Royal Vanilla is much more refined and less sharp.

fruity raspberry-esque vanilla. tbh it is really hard to differentiate all of the mancera & montale vanillas in the moment.

Really not sure how to review this as its a love hate thing. I struggle with mancera's, i want to like them but find they fall way short of the some of the other bigger houses but because of the hype i have to try them all. On opening i really dont like this, its a quite weird smell. the top and middle notes in my opionion are just blended awfully. There is a fine line when mixing vanilla , rose and citrus and if done wrong it can smell like rotting fruit and this does that. For 2-3 hours is a kind of rotten fruit , boozy mess with rose that comes through. Then after it settles its actually really really nice, once the bad has evaporated what is left is a very nice vanilla, caramel and slight floral. its very nice but not sure i can get post the first few hours.

This was to much smell for me. I think the dirty patchoulie did it hard for me to find when I should use it. I tried to spray in the folds of the knees, to not have it so ́ín the face`, and then I mixed it with an odorless lotion, and got Manceras Velvet Vanilla, witch I already have, and Velvet is so much softer. Royal Vanilla is not a bad parfume, but it is not for me.

Opens with a slightly boozy vanilla and resinous amber. The violet and patchouli blend to give a feminine floral accord. The dry down is bourbon vanilla and florals. The greatest longevity in the Mancera vanilla fragrances. Great for cold weather, but would be a fantastic holiday perfume also.

Not similar to intense cafe or roses vanille. I smell rum note which is not listed but is very prominent and not to my liking. That said it is way to much similar to Paris Corner December Vanilla which I can't stand.

WHY are all of these 'vanille' fragrances so heavily doused with rose? To my untrained nose, this is another incense rose fragrance, really only suitable for winter cold weather.

Patchouli so strong upon spraying. Gets gentler and finer after a few minutes. Smells like old makeup.

Royal Vanilla..... A very sweet, rosy, SYNTHETIC beast of a fragrance that really is not original. In fact, it is a mixture of a few different perfumes combined to create this which I might add is really not needed, If you like/want Sensual Instinct, Bacarat Rouge 540 & Intense Cafe mixed all in one, you've found your holy grail. This stuff is very strong & it last on my skin the majority of the day. Strong projection & silage leaves a trail for hours. I was not impressed by this fragrance simply because it is literally just a mixture of other perfumes. It is also not blended well as is most from Montale/Mancera. Synthetic frags are ok with me as long as the blend is properly made. The way that Montale/Mancera does vanilla I am not fond of either. Bottom line is, if you have any of the three fragrances I mentioned above, you do not need to waste your money on this unless you are a collector. Just pick one from the list & use that.

I agree with scenterofattention, the opening smells like rotten fruit. The weird smell lasts too long and I don't get any vanilla under it. I don't really like how Mancera slaps 'Vanilla' in so many perfumes when you can't even smell any vanilla under other super strong notes. This perfume reminds me a little bit of Kayali Vanilla Royale. Don't get me wrong, they don't smell similar at all. Both of them are spicy patchouli takes on vanilla and Kayali did it so much better.
