Saharian Wind is Brilliant - I love, love, love, how adaptable the brand of Mancera is. Notes: With the heavy oud based fragrance trend losing the spotlight with mainstream western perfumery we see oud loyalty being reduced to die-hard oud connoisseurs and small but adept oud fragrance interest communities, notably because of the outrageous premium price points of oud fragrances and their debatable wearability. In this case owning an artisanal oud maybe more of a novelty or a brag than a practicality which is completely fine I have some myself - will I buy more? Mmm... Maybe if I had the disposable income to pay for a pet groomer or hire a maid. But admirably even though Mancera prides itself on the use of oud accords and rose in a majority of its compositions which could be polarizing, it manages to use these ingredients in the quantities that aren't polarizing and instead enhance the depth of the scent. But here with Saharian Wind, Mancera proves again that it can manage to produce bangers with or without those ingredients - you gotta respect the hustle. Fragrance: Saharian wind - "boy oh boy..." - its a good one... A Spicy Oriental barbershop fougère - I instantly smell that classic fresh masculine fragrance DNA with some modern herbaceous spiciness something near or in between a Guerlain Habit Rouge and Dior Eau Sauvage Parfum. I would be the first to mention in my opinion the name Saharian Wind feels somewhat amiss of what the scent actually conveys to me. Wind has freshness and this is fresh. But the green citric and herbal spiciness does not remind me of the Magreb or the Sahara and I have lived briefly in Niger. It actually reminds me of the green and aromatic alps. However I would love to smell like this in a hot climate area like the Sahara. I imagine if coriander, cardamom and ginger were added to the composition it would give it the fuzzy, dustiness it needs to resemble sand. Saharian Wind is that, - “Wanna go bowling after the game at Bdubs?” - “Yeah sure lemme just freshen up” Kind of scent. A warm spicy fougère that smells peppery with a leathery depth at the top. From there it dries down to a zesty, citric and spicy, tobacco base that smells soapy, clean and sweet. Ideal for cold seasons but tame and fresh enough for warm seasons as well. And for a scent that smells like this I'm glad to say that even though the profile of Saharian Wind is lighter because it contains no oud there's still that Mancera performance that doesn't disappoint. Definitely masculine although even a female can wear this if she likes spicy herbal scents. Thrilled and eagerly awaiting the new Mancera line-up. 9/10

Okay, so. This is CRAZY good. Love, love, love. I got an official sample at a perfumery last summer, and when I tried it, the fragrance was nothing at all like I expected from the listed notes here. I had expected some leathery/tobacco heavy deep scent, but instead it was this really fresh and uplifting, oriental style barbershoppy, gentlemanly scent. However, I did like it. Loads of fresh cypress, some lavender, and that subtle amber/vanilla that sweetens everything, just the right tiny amount. This scent is so fresh, and it does so almost without any citrus. I bet you can easily wear this in high heat. In fact I'm pretty damn sure it's great four seasons per year. In the deep drydown I get a hint of tobacco. Leather? I'm not sure. For me it's all about that ambery cypress. I finished the sample with a few wearings, but I felt longevity wasn't all that, so I decided to forget about it, despite the fact I liked it. Fast forward some 6 months or so, and it's spring. I found myself thinking of Saharian Wind ALL the time. I had a vivid memory of the way it smelled and it became sort of an obsession in my head. I had grown to LOVE the memory of that scent. I was thinking maybe I was remembering it way better than it actually was, but I couldn't help craving it. I kept telling myself I shouldn't get a full bottle because it didn't seem to last on me, but then I went and got me a full bottle anyway. The fragrance was exactly as I remembered it, only I was crazy in love with it now, instead of just liking it. I was excited to give it a full proper wearing to the office! It actually performed much better on me than when I was testing the sample. But the thing is, it actually performs really well, it's just that I get anosmic to it when I spray the wrong places. I had sprayed some on the front of my shirt because I wanted to be able to smell it all the time. A classic mistake! I get olfactory fatigue with most fragrances when I do that. So halfway through the day I couldn't smell it at all anymore, but I was getting compliments from colleagues left and right! Apparently it was still performing like nobody's business, but I just couldn't smell it anymore. The evidence is sitting right next to me here. It's the shirt I wore to work three days ago, and it still smells strongly of Saharian Wind. It lasts ages on clothes. From now on I will just spray the back of my shirt, so it won't be going up my nose constantly, but that way I keep getting wafts. This catapulted itself to the very top of my favourites list. My initial experience with this fragrance was based on a 1ml decant and so I didn't have much of an opportunity to live with it, but that sample was enough to make me realise that I wanted more and so just a few days after first trying it I ordered a full 100ml bottle. Since then, I've worn it a few times in the hope of fully formulating an opinion of it. And yet, I'm still struggling to put my experience into words. Perhaps its name has subconsciously swayed me because I do detect the smell of sun-baked sand. There's a dry, mellow sweetness to it, mixed with warm spices. I've read reviews that say it's a "barbershop" fragrance and I can see that. Mint isn't listed as a note, but I do get a hint of dusty mint from it, like that in TF's BDJ, but warmer and not so fresh to my nose. Looking at the notes listed for this fragrance, I suspect that it's actually the spices and pink pepper that I'm perceiving as mint. There is also something else there that I'm finding difficult to pinpoint ... I want to say that there is a very slight ashy smell to it, like fully burnt wood, after the smell of burning has gone completely. "Ashy" has somewhat negative connotations in my mind, but that is definitely not the case here. On my skin, I found it took 10+ hours for the initial stages to transition, so it's certainly linear. Later, I find lavender, suede and white musk coming through, but not enough to overpower that dusty, desert sand smell that I got from the start. With many of the more unusual fragrances I try, I find a difficulty in picturing an occasion when I might wear them, but not so with this. I can see it being perfect for evenings in late summer, when the sun hangs low in the sky and the day's heat is starting to cool. I think it is fine for both relaxed and formal settings. That my wife says that it "smells lovely" is a bonus. And I think the same. If you’ve smelled mancera before - it doesn’t matter. This doesn’t smell like a mancera. I really appreciate the opening of this. It’s a pungent blast of spice, wood and a kick of sour citrus and dry leather. I’m not sure if anyone has made the connection to Gucci guilty absolute, but it could be a cousin. Using Gucci guilty absolute as a placeholder, I find this to be a less aggressive leather - and I also find the noticeable citrus note to be quite enjoyable. This is certainly a complex scent - in that the notes come together to make a unique smell. I’d heard this was challenging - but I don’t find it to be as challenging as guilty absolute - or say, red tobacco. Don’t kid yourself - if this were a designer scent, it’d be marketed towards men. No question. During the mid and dry down, I find that the lavender comes out a bit stronger, and in turn, softens the sour/dry leather I made reference to in the beginning. It also strays further from guilty absolute during the dry down - as this seems to smooth out, while guilty seems to double down on stank. Out of the mancera’s I’ve tried, I find this to be the most original composition - the least “mancera like” and probably one of the most enjoyable scents from the brand. Don’t be concerned by my comparison to guilty absolute. This is a very different scent - it just shares some similar qualities. Ultimately, this is lighter and much more wearable and enjoyable. Truly one of the best scents I’ve come across in quite some time. The last time I was wowed like this was Ganymede. Kudos to mancera for doing something very different and very enjoyable. Must try.

Looking at the reviews so far, it seems experiences are varied. Smelling it on the back of my hand for some time now, I don't really recognize what others are writing. Maybe I'm just anosmic to some aspect of this fragrance, I don't know. I also don't feel like this is typical Mancera beast mode. Mysterious? Nah. Dark? Neh. It's very fresh! Dense? Nope. It's light! Club scent? Wut. If I had to describe the type of scent, I'd say it's an oriental style barbershop fragrance. To me it's light and airy, not heavy at all. Smells inoffensive and professional, perfect for the office or meetings. It's gentlemanly. Seems appropriate for almost any occasion really, and pretty much any season except for summer maybe. It's a breath of fresh air with all the cypress and lavender. I might get some leather, I suppose, but I have to focus to smell it, and it's a very different type of leather than what I'm used to in fragrances. I do get lavender, and definitely a lot of cypress. Yes, cypress is the dominant note to me. There's some citrus, yes. I don't get tobacco. I'm getting a bit of a honey effect somehow. The deep dry-down smells a bit medicinal, on skin. One could easily layer Encre Noire á l'Extrème with this and give it a bit of an oriental vibe. It would be a cypress bomb! Man, this pretty nice. Projection and longevity might not be what you'd expect from a Mancera. This is not a beast mode fragrance, but it's not very weak either. Maybe I'm just partly anosmic or something, that's always a possibility. Bottom line: Go smell this yourself, as it seems YMMV, as they say.

Saharian Wind starts very bold and powerful with dark green, aromatic and spicy accords, but 15 minutes later I feel it warm and deep, exotic. I sense woods, earthy accords and true masculine approach. But there is also some creamy balsamic notes with a touch of Irish whisky... Great balance between green-woody aroma and rounded spicy-balsamic accords. The combination of pepper, vanilla and cypress is always a perfect match, like in Eau des Baux L'Occitane en Provence, but here it is much darker and dense. This is 100% dark niche scent and it’s not for everybody - you have to test it before buy! Imagine something like Red tobacco, but more mature, woodier without any sweetness, fruits or cozy cinnamon. Here we got the dark soul of Red tobacco, but with added amazing smart touch of aromatic lavender and classy, bold leather notes. Saharian Wind is a very complex and mysterious, deep scent with mature profile, but Mancera somehow manage to make it sound like modern type of mature scent with added smooth, silky non-sweet vanilla and amazing creamy-balsamic notes. It’s a strange and truly unique fragrance, because it smell kind of dry, but rounded at the same time, dark green, but inviting, mature, but alluring. I can’t describe it. People who like fragrances as Red Tobacco, Eau des Baux and so on, should try Saharian Wind. It’s deeper and darker with elegant 100% masculine approach. Performance is a typical Mancera beast mode, but not in a bad way like too much in your face. I'm very impressed with that release!

I blind bought this exotic beauty directly from Mancera's online store based from the positive reviews that I read. Luckily, It was a successful blind buy and I am extremely happy. This wonderful juice suits one of the scent profiles I'm looking for in a mans fragrance, the oriental vibe with that leathery spicy accords. They're not the same but somehow it also reminds me of Mancera's Hindu Kush which I also own and one of my faves from the house along with Cedrat Boise. It's scent profile is not like any other to me. The woody aromatic note was well blended with the leather, lavender, citrus and tobacco accords. The interplay between the patchouli and white musk adds to that sexiness in the dry down. It's gorgeous, unique and a must in my collection. I'm gonna order another 60ml bottle just to have a sealed bottle of this fascinating scent in my arsenal. The 60 ml bottle that I own is my personal favorite in my collection. It's so nice to hold or grip the bottle, looks very simple and with a magnetic cap. Let me give this some full wearing for an update. Update: Simply gorgeous and the performance and projection is pretty decent on my skin. A scent that is unique to my nose, great for cooler weather and evening encounters. This is a big love for me. Another unusual hit from Mancera. In essence, this is a spiced up barbershop scent that is is unusually fresh and more versatile than most oriental/spiced perfumes. Saharian Wind opens with freshness, spice melange and green woods. Leather notes and amber begin to heat up the scent after some minutes, interacting with the fougere core of Saharian Wind to produce something is is spicy, warm yet unexpectedly breezy. As the scent wears on, the initial blast of fresh spice gradually transitions into incensed wood chips & dry tobacco, lit up and carried on a cool breeze which is experienced as a fresh, almost menthol nose feel. The dry down presents a pleasant mix of dry hay, warm amber, spiced woods and soft musk. Saharian Wind stays relatively linear in the next hours, performing well with good projection & longevity. 4 sprays lasts a work day and radiates at arm's length. This is an interesting scent which is best experienced naturally - sticking your nose right next to the skin could prove overwhelming. Saharian Wind can be worn in most settings, due to its notable freshness. Skews slightly masculine, and in a different packaging I could see it being sold as an kooky workday scent. This is more fresh spice than hot sand, and a very unique smell. Saharian Wind is one of my recent favourites.

After testing it a bit, I came to the conclusion that this is hands down the best Mancera I've ever tried, and I've tried about 11 of their scents. This one starts with spicy fresh suede with a strong patchouli undertone. The suede can feel dusty and too intense, which is not the best part of this fragrance for me, to be completely honest. The musk, in typical Mancera fashion, is the worst downside, since it is not the ethereal and transparent type. This is a brain-drilling, flavored sweet & sour beast. Fortunately, unlike in Black Gold, musk goes away pretty fast. (another good Mancera fragrance that is nerfed into oblivion by this stinky musk that lingers from the start to the end). After all this terror comes the great part — the duo of cypress and lavender lying down on this beautiful and clean suede, creating an extremely clean and sophisticated scent. This starts smelling luxurious, chill, and steamy. Imagine coming out of an expensive spa radiating the steaming smell of fresh herbs. As you could guess I'm not the biggest Mancera lover, and I'm not here to glaze. However I must acknowledge that Saharian Wind is a great scent. My only wish is to skip this nasty ahh opening or at least swap out or remove this musk altogether.

I placed an order on the Mancera site and picked up a set of 5x10ml of scents that sounded interesting for me. This was one of those samples and am I glad I got it. What made me pick it was the notes of leather and tobacco which are some of my favorite notes. I love this scent, even tho i am having a little bit of an issue with the cypress I think it is but when that part dies down and I'm smelling the last part of the dry down I'm loving it so very much. To me the dry down smells like warm sweaty (not stinky) skin of a very sexy man. It reminds me of the way my x-boyfriend smelled when not wearing a parfume, just the scent of him. In general I would give it around 8-9 but the dry down for me is the best part and I'll give that a 11/10. I just wish it was a little more noticeable but it last on me a long time. I just get a good sniff of my arms when I feel like smelling it more intensely. Like so many other parfumes try before you buy because it seems like the dry down is'nt loved by many besides myself. I do know tho that I'm gonna grab a full 120ml bottle of it very soon Edit: If anyone knows of a fragrance that smells like the dry down by itself please let me know because I would need to buy that asap

For us who have Mancera’s we keep an eye out on their releases. I’m a bit behind with this one but the notes caught my attention. I finally 10 ml’s of it to try it out. This is something I recommend for those feeling they’ve got to get every hyped fragrance out there. The opening is a blast of harsh leather and pepper. Like Black to Black, you can be turned off with it’s opening. But just give it time. After about 30 minutes of settling on your skin the leather becomes less prominent and the magic begins. The Mancera DNA is definitely there but this IS NOT one of their (In Your Face) monster fragrances BUT a very masculine fragrance that gives you whiffs throughout your day. 8-10 hrs easy on my skin. I love spraying on my neck and chest to enjoy it for the whole day. It’s always a winner when I can get a fragrance that easily last through out my entire work day. This can be worn all year round, day or night, for any occasion! It’s that versatile to my nose. I’ve not seen where anyone else describes this but in my opinion it’s a cross between Cedrat Boise and Instant Crush if you can imagine that. As I enjoy this, I’ll be in search for a full bottle before my 10 ml runs out!

I just received a full bottle. I gotta say it leans masculine, barbershop vibe under hot citrus. With my nose, I can detect some of the Tobacco, but I think it just slightly added. To describe, First note will dominate you with hot, really hot citrus, like orange/lime peel. Then a lot of things happened: oud, incense(no worry, just hint about them), fresh, bitterness from citrus, sweet... Then the lavender kicks in and the most prominent note after 30-45 minutes of the spray. Then after 2-4 hours, all I can smell is light citrus mixed with lavender, and a lil bit of tobacco, lil bit of vanilla, behind them all - I can still detect the lurking incense demon is still around. I love it. Because this is the most different from Mancera house, and it works. I'm not agree with idea told you this fragrance is dark, no it's not, it's very bright and relax. Longevity: about 7-8 hours on my skin, pushing it to 9-10 in A/C condition. Very good, because I live in a hot and humid country, nothing lasts, nothing projects. Projection: It doesn't project that much, just a lil bit better than an arm's length.

This is probably the best Mancera in the entire catalogue. Under the radar and underrated. I fear this will be discontinued because people are sleeping on this one, but it's oh so gorgeous. Strangely addictive, somewhat barbershoppy, somewhat oriental. One of my easiest grabs. Works three seasons per year except the height of summer. Strong lavender and somewhat synthetic opening, but hang in there because it soon mellows down and is joined by an ambery cypress (it would be more accurate to say it smells honeyed!) and gets really good. Smooth waxy saffron leather in the drydown with the honeyed cypress and lavender subtly hanging on. Have been wearing this constantly and I just can't seem to get enough of it. Projects strongly at first. Calms down after some time, but it is very long lasting. Gets lots of compliments and comments if you care for that sort of thing. Probably because there is nothing like this in the popular designer/mall scents realm, so people have no clue what it might be.

This is a very good unisex release from Pierre montale! And definitely worth trying out, got a 10 ml decant and I am posting this after three wears. Opens up with a nice spicy and hot citrus smell which stays there for 20-30 minutes. Post that it retains that bergamot smell but with addition of lot of dry flowers, it’s like sniffing pepper and lavender but a citrusy one. I don’t get any tobacco note whatsoever but maybe it’s tame or not that aggressive here. Dry down is quite pleasant on this one. Sure woodsy, dry and vanillic and yes I do get the CEDRAT BOISE vibe (Citrusy but not that metallic) Uniqueness: 8/10 it’s nothing like I have smelled before, it’s sexy and warm. Age: 20 and above, I won’t be surprised if this becomes a club scent. Projection: Strong for ~2 hours. Sillage: 4-5 feet. Longevity: 6-7 hours on skin, 14 hours on fabric,but can vary due to weather( I live in a humid weather) Season: All weather, but go easy on the spray. Worth buying a full bottle. This is manly and sexy spicy scent! I am in love... This is the kind of all-age, everyday, all-year-round, any-occasion fragrance that makes the perfect signature scent! Very interesting profile. I wish I could describe it better but the blend is very well balanced and it is unimportant for me to force the components out of the harmony. Unique and likable! Edit: A miracle just happened! My man actually asked me for my 10ml travel spray of this perfume when he was packing. HE NEVER EVER WANTED A PERFUME FROM MY COLLECTION BEFORE! Just to understand how special it is: my man has four perfumes, uses two, one as a signature scent, and the other one just now and then (when he is in a mood for a change). I love men perfumes and I keep suggesting him to try those I really like, but he just nods politely and forgets right away. Not this one! If I had any doubt about buying a full bottle before, I sure do not have any now.

I got this a couple weeks ago and usually I write reviews after a few wearings but I felt like I just couldn't put into words what I felt about this one. I still feel I probably won't do it justice. I love this one. The citrus and pepper reminds me of the Apple pepper combo in Ferragamo F. Now this is not a similar fragrance, it just had that aspect in it. This also has a lotion feel to it, if that makes sense. I get a leather that smells like the note that was used most in the 80s? It's definitely not that Tuscan leather, leather. It's just beautifully blended. Having so many bottles I can't say I have a true signature scent but if I worked in an office environment this would be it. To my nose it leans slightly masculine but a woman can definitely pull this off. The longevity is eternal. Wearing it for 14 hours to work then showering and it's still faintly there on my skin. Wild. This is a 9.8/10 for me.

Please read to the end... I have admit I had high hopes for this one then was initially dissapointed. I liked it but didn't love it. I got very much a creamy barber shop vibe and after many wears it still reminds me of that. But it has grown on me with each wear. In fact, if barber shop is your thing i suggest this would be highly regarded. Now for the good bit. My feeling about this fragrance is similar to how i feel about Terre dHermes, like it, appreciate the quality but need to be in the right mood. So I blended the two and OMG I love the combination. On the own I would say a great office scent. Both are better in the air than off skin types. Blended together, they are addictively good, citrusy, soapy, smoldering and sexy. The Terre dHerres elevates the Saharian Wind to something very classy in my opinion. Fyi i tried it Givenchy Gentleman Cologne (the white labelled citrus bomb) with the same effect.

got yet yesterday and it was a total blind buy. I know many people are interested in this one. this is not a safe blind buy, its peppery in the opening, reminded me of the pepper in PDM Kalan. then it settles down after 40 minutes and I start getting something softer, like floral, mild sweet, dry amber and leather, tobacco so far I havent detected yet. but its really beautiful for night time on the drydown. dont judge this fragrance by the opening. very long lasting and and upclass. best feature is it smells like nothing else out there(from the 1000s that I tried). mancera is a miss/hit House to be honest, not all their fragrances are unique/nice, but the ones I tried and owned so far were all Niche quality, some are great signature scents like black gold and cedrat boise. if you did like fragrances like sand aoud, kalan and gucci guilty absolute, this one is for you. dont blind buy, test 1st 8.5/10

One of the best Mancera has to offer!! You will get leather, pink pepper, tobacco vanilla, white musk, and the cypress really rounds this scent out. Smells deep, rich, warm and the arabian musk is prominent all the way through. Similar to Hindu Kush but lacks the fresh green money note. Love at first whiff, I was given a sample by an arab man who mentioned wearing this on his wedding day. Great for cool-cold weather climate, a daytime beast and night time lullaby the name Saharian Wind perfectly fits. 9/10-- overall great fragrance very classy, elegant, yet unique. Although the wearer may enjoy smelling themselves more than they can garner compliments. Opening is loud but dries down to a much lighter accord that sits close to the skin. Be careful not to overspray

I love this one. Pretty underrated. The initial blast can be a little nauseating but the dry down is fantastic. I get a lot of spices, lavender, cypres, leather and woods from it. Imagine you're walking through a desert with a leather pouch filled with spices and lavender. To me it has a tiny touch of sweetness but very masculine. The performance is nuclear. I could smell it even after 5 days on my clothes. But be careful it's really easy to over spray. I did this mistake one time and had to go back home and take a shower. I would say 2-3 sprays max. Definitely more of a colder weather fragrance but I think you can pull it off in warm weather. Not office safe tho. If you wanna smell masculine and unique definitely try this one.
