Black & White

I am very pleased to have added a bottle of this absolute gem to collection recently. I've always liked the original (Pure) Black: a pleasant, sweet, citrus, woody concoction from a bygone era. Black is good, yet simple, features performance slightly above its price tag, and a scent profile that punches well above it. This warm weather flanker has a lot more going on, is much more versatile, and has better performance to boot! This opens with a beautiful violet note, it smells very natural and melds together seamlessly with the Black DNA, but with the white florals dialed up, and the sweetness dialed slightly down, and the woods faded to a whisper. It's somewhat linear. The citrus is ever present, while the violet does become a bit muted over time, the woods and tonka seem to intensify as the wearing progresses without ever getting too loud or overbearing. I can not get over how great the opening of this is, the candied violet is so addictive to me. This is a fantastic flanker and I prefer it to the original Black EDT by leaps and bounds. For seasonality, I think this is four season safe, but it probably shines the best in the middle to late Springs and the tail end of Summer leading into Autumn in most climates. I probably would avoid this in extreme heat and humidity and I think it may wear a tiny bit thin on the coldest days as well. Performance is good. I get slightly above average longevity, clocking at around 7 hours on skin. It does last longer on clothing and stays fresher compared to how it develops on my skin. Projection is slightly above average for the first couple of hours. This is a unisex scent for sure, the florals and sweetness are extremely well balanced against the citrus and woody notes. This is definitely a more youthful composition than Black, but that's by no means something I would expect on a grandpa. Overall, it's a great composition and my favorite from the line and the brand. It's great quality by a great perfumer. It's a shame that it's been d/c as it's more interesting and more versatile than the Black EDT (and also has better performance). If you can find this gem for a good price, I definitely think it's worth adding to your collection. Even if you don't like it, the price is only going to go up! 88/100

very familiar but i like it, performance so far it good. on initial spray didnt seem as if it would last, been 3hrs now and still strong. I'm pleased, price is a steel. Remids me of Pure black just a bit lighter as @raysmooth said.

This opening definitely reminds me of Chanel Allure Homme Sport Eau Extreme. At 1/4 of the price I would consider using this instead if you don’t want to break the bank. This doesn’t last more than 5 hours on my skin but on clothes it lingers over 10 hours. Compared to CAHSEE, this citrus is more dark than in this one and there is a small bit of spice in the base. The similarity to CAHSEE is gone after a few minutes, so I wouldn’t call this a clone. In some ways this is a more interesting scent because it goes through different stages and is less linear. I like the vanilla and woods on the dry down.

Ah the first review. It's a good scent, not sure I would full on classify it summery, it resembles Mandarina Duck Black heavily, mainly from the tonka bean note. Still, a non-offensive smell, silage and longevity not bad at all. overall 6/10.

Mandarina duck black lite is what they should have called this,smells almost the same but lighter,good projection and longevity,i give a 7.5 out of 10,if u own mandarina black don't buy this
