Amandus – Manos Gerakinis 8/ 10 Amandus by Manos Gerakinis is a fragrance that envelops you in a cocoon of soft powderiness, blended with luscious caramel, buttery toffee, and toasted hazelnut. This is exactly what I expected Chemin d’Amande to be. Amandus feels sweeter, yet never sugary—very creamy and enveloping. Almond is clearly the star here, supported by buttery toffee that enhances its richness. There is sweetness, but it’s balanced by a slight salted bitterness that keeps the composition elegant rather than cloying. It feels nutty and quietly addictive. The fragrance seems to float on a cloud of milky petals before reaching its peak, where it becomes deeper and creamier. At this stage, the composition evokes a toasted amaretto accord, warming the senses while gently caressing the smooth texture of sandalwood. A subtle touch of vanilla ties everything together, allowing the notes to move in harmony. It’s a clever gourmand. Amandus is a Latin word meaning “worthy of love,” and the name suits the fragrance beautifully. It carries a comforting richness that feels indulgent yet refined, creating a gourmand experience that is both elegant and inviting.

I got a small sample of Amandus this summer, and I could smell it the moment I opened the box. It’s warm, nutty, and quietly addictive. The almond and salted caramel stand out first, soft and creamy, with a gentle sweetness from sugar and dates. As it develops, hazelnut and toffee add a toasted depth, touched by a bit of incense that keeps it elegant. The base of vanilla, amber, and sandalwood feels smooth, almost golden, and stays close to the skin for hours. What I love about Manos Gerakinis is that every perfume has presence. They’re sensual without being loud, sophisticated without feeling cold. In a moment where so many brands either scrub away all traces of desire or push it to the edge of vulgarity, this house finds the middle ground. Amandus captures that balance perfectly. It’s sensual in a way that feels natural, grown, and unforced, a beautiful almond scent that feels confident and human.

To me this is the perfect salty gourmand. It’s a love for me. I really appreciate the lack of molecular notes here, something I find too harsh in a similar fragrance, Vanilla Powder. This is done just right. A salty sweet treat that’s a total delight to wear.

Like being wrapped in a soft warm scarf. Sweet, toffee, lactonic, almond. Comforting, cosy. I was fortunate enough to receive a signed box , number 11 of 20. This is a unique and uncommon fragrance. Beautiful!

One of the best almond gourmand scents witout being overly sweet or girly. It has an addictive trail and is very enjoyable. Absolutely high quality and worths the price! Highly recommended!

I also thought this is what Chemin d’Amande would have smelled like, but it was more chocolatey on me than almond like. If a fragrance has almond as its name, it should be almond forward and this is. This has the type of almond accord that I like, slightly play-doh-y but with decorum and thankfully, almond is very present throughout; a true almond fragrance. It’s sweet and slightly nostalgic but has a clean amber/musk with a sparkling wood base that gives a sophisticated ambiance instead of being too gourmand. I loved this!

It’s Vanilla Powder with some nuttiness in the opening.

I found the first few seconds in the opening of this a bit harsh. I guess this is where the comparison to Soho comes in. This did quickly subside and became a beautiful, delicate, nutty, toffee, hazelnut/almond scent in the mid.... However the dry down is a no for me. All those beautiful notes in the mid disappear and the harshness of the opening reappears, leaving a very dry and heavy, musky hazelnut which continues to intensify. A definite no for me

I've tried this a few times now to the best of my abilities (trying not to gag every time). This smells super metallic to my nose. Both from the sprayer, and on my skin. Imagine the smell of coins dipped in cheap almond schampoo. Its repulsive. I love gourmands, and these notes sound like heaven to me, but for some reason this stuff REEKS. I wanted to love this so badly. My sample has got to be faulty...
