Dusk

I agree with much of what harperhilton writes below. The note pyramids are different but the two fragrances "Dawn" and "Dusk" affect me in a similar way. I don't recognize much oakmoss but my nose is absolutely not so sophisticated. Oakmoss to me always smells bitter and almost inky. This is a smooth perfume obviously made with a whole lot of care. I seem to get a similarly "clary sage" vibe from both fragrances, Dawn and Dusk. Here sage is not listed. I am wondering if it is the sweet basil like greenness of the tulsi mixed with lemon balm or there are various combinations of notes that could give an impression of sweet balsamic amber muskiness. Soft and sweet. Clary sage has even a slight lavender edge. I feel like nothing I write will ever be good enough to give an apt impression. All I know is that I just thought of my time 20+ years ago in Giverny, France working in Claude Monet's gardens there with a key to go in at night after the tourists had left. That whole area of France was for me the epitome of what glorious nature and subsuming myself in it was, and this "Dusk" perfume reminds me of the sun setting over the gardens and water lily pools of Claude Monet's property. This is an association it's been a while since I've had with perfume, not felt so keenly since the fragrances of Victoire Gobin-Daudé years ago. Luxurious nature, if that makes any sense...

i just got my samples and tried them both -- one on each arm. this -- dusk -- turns out to be my fave by a hair (they are really almost identical.) both are oakmoss bombs. it doesn't mention patchouli, but i'd be surprised if there isn't some in both. dawn has a discernible lemon balm note which i like a lot. but this is just a bit more balanced, a little less of a smell, and a tiny bit more of a perfume. dawn is dense - and dusk is just a little bit more transparent (although it really isn't transparent.) i'd wear either. (again, once on skin they are virtually indistinguishable.) very vegetal, both. on the brown side, reminding me of crushed autumn-leaves, mud, and maybe a bit of stagnant lake water for dusk (a thing i adore, actually.) worth trying. love the bottles, of course.
