Marbert Man Classic

Marbert Classic is a reformulation of it's older brother Marbert Man. I give Marbert credit on this, they did a good job recreating their original classic. While I think Marbert Man (first and second version) is a much better version, this is still worthy of it's namesake. Like many others of the day, this fragrance is all about the honey, lavender and patchouli. It separates itself by it's unique combination. I love wearing this any time of year, though it really shines in the Summer when the heat brings it all to life. I don't subscribe to season scents. I think you should wear a scent when you feel like it, season be damned. This would do equally well in the bitter cold in my opinion. Do yourself a favor and samples this German beauty. Tek olumsuz yanları her yerde bulunmamaları.

Love this! I got it for like 2 euros and it's a lovely spicy classic scent, and doesn't smell remotely cheap, and the deodorant is delicious, it amps up the spices with cinnamon and cumin.

A true masterpiece from the past 🏆 ❤️ a bit different from the vintage version but still smells great 👍 very close to Givenchy gentleman original version of 1974 👍 nice scent ❤️

This is a pleasant perfume - not 'miraculous,' but good. It's a very comforting wear, it's distinctive (in that it is totally different to today's 'you gotta smell of food or the sea or oud' trends). I think it's going to play a big role in my 2023 springtime! None of the notes stand out as soloists, though the foundations of this scent are a light honey-patchouli accord (like a much more delicate Givenchy Gentleman (1974) - *much* more delicate). Wormwood (artemisia) I can't detect at all; ditto the juniper, but then this scent comes from a time when you're not supposed to 'spot notes'; the notes were blended so you could 'spot a perfume'. Very different to today's approach. It can tend to soapy. The type of comment I'm about to make can p*&& people off because it explains one perfume with reference to others (that you might not know), but this is about 40% Paul Sebastian PS Fine Cologne, and about 40% Worth Pour Homme, and about 20% its own thing. Which, of course, makes it 100% its own thing - kids aren't just derivatives of their parents! It doesn't project as much as PS or Worth, but I'll still get whiffs through the day (which is only right, given the quantity of this $&!t I put on...). I like it - but it's not a passionate like. Update: Nov 23 - it played little/no role in spring or any other season. I shall migrate it away...

Wow, this might just be the best cheapie currently out there. Or, at the very least, it deserves to be in the conversation. To my nose, Marbert Man Classic is actually closer to the original 1977 Eau De Cologne than the last formulation of Marbert Man Eau De Toilette was before its discontinuation. Though it's important to note that this is a different fragrance - a modern interpretation of the original EDC. However, in this case, 'modern' does not mean 'butchered.' This is a quality fragrance in its own right. I'm happy to have it in my collection, alongside the vintage EDC, and rotate them depending on my mood and the occasion. It’s classy, elegant, masculine, and unapologetically old-school. On top of that, it performs very well, so no need to overspray. A bit heavier than the original, might be too much for hot summer days. Perfect for spring and fall. The price-to-quality ratio is through the roof.

This is a good find for me, well I say find, a friend of mine very kindly bought it for me and sent it along. An example of a fragrance which follows all the trends of that golden era of men's perfumery without excelling at any of them really. Opens with lavender but then all the woody, masculine man powder hits, a soapy interpretation of leather, I found it loosely (without comparing) more akin to Quorum and Paco Rabanne than anything else, less piney perhaps less...well of everything Marbert man is quite a gentle, subdued version of these with a air of modern barber, hairdresser shop about it. I like it and for the money it's an excellent choice.

Perfect, straightforward fougere for a confident man of any age. Honey sweet and velvety brown and moist, like pipe tobacco. A late fall and winter fragrance. It's better than any Hugo Boss scent that I know and leans more French or southern, not northern. Macho and retro. It would be all wrong on a dressed up young man, but put a weathered tough detective, arms dealer or assassin in a lux smoking and there you have it. About as honest and likable in this style as the German 4711 and Tabac are in theirs.

Marbert Classic is a 100% for men, mature and serious! The Alfa Male who wears this and likes honesty and straight words! The man you can trust but don't mess-up with him. This fragrance is the closest to Hugo Boss~1 but not the same. The artemisia balances nice with the honey and gives a semi-heavy aromatic masculine scent, straight from the start to the end.

Nice. This reminds me of Pears glycerin soap. Longevity is very poor, two hours max on my skin.

The shaving and deodorant products in this Man Classic range smell great, too.

First association is Number One, though this one is fizzier. It shouldn’t be dissed, as it’s a unique take on barber—like a sparkling cherry—very classic, not dignified, but quite toiletry-like, grounding. It somewhat reminds me of toilet cleaners or window-cleaning liquids, yet in the context of masculinity, that might make sense. I prefer Number One.

Oh, no. This has nothing to do with Boss No.1 or Givenchy Gentleman or any other patchouly-heavy retro fougere. No. The cinnamon-clove-honey and that amount incens-y, bitter artemisia makes a massive difference to the listed and any others I encountered with. Incense is not in the pyramid, but it is very prominent and it gives a very strong, gloomy "temple-note" I don't like in that way. Luckily that it decrease as time passes. This is an old-styled fougére, it means lavander is the base with serious amount of patchouly and spices and herbals are the ornamentics. It is not bad, but I wear it seldom. Not mass appeal, not a blind buy. Bold and gloomy, like a provoking niche-stuff. Try before you buy!

First impression: classic! First player: honey. Second player: lavender. Third player: patchouli. Reminds me instantly of Boss no1. Also a little bit of Giorgio Beverly Hills and Givenchy 1974 Gentleman. But honey is the strongest player here. Nice fragrance for a gentleman !

not sure if I smelled the classic or some other version, simply the one they sell in the red box in the stores in Germany. It smells pretty good, but its an aftershave scent. Mostly a tobacco type scent with perhaps just a touch of fougere.

Too much artemisia and too depressed by it. I liked the original, but this one is almost unwearable for me. It's as gloomy as Ramsay Bolton's prison. Perhaps on an auto-da-fe would be appropriate. Sadly, I don't go to events like this...

Wonderful scent. Has echoes of Encre Noire (Sport) but with a warmer undertone. Rich, dark and deep. Really nice.

Effectively mix between Girgio for men and Givenchy gentleman
