Marc Jacobs Cucumber Splash 2016

This was a blindbuy from the Bay. $23 for a partially used 10 oz bottle. Seemed like a safe investment. It's June in the Mojave Desert of California. I feel the rages of summer coming on. When even your air conditioner says, "I give up!" This fragrance surprised me. Of course, I knew I'd like it. Who wouldn't like the crisp, clean cucumber scent on a blazing hot day? But I expected that Marc Jacobs bottled these splashes in these huge bottles with the thought that longevity would be zero to none. That the wearer would need to reapply often. Boy, was I pleasantly surprised when I gave myself a quick upper body spritz at 3pm and I, and everyone around me is still catching whiffs of this lovely scent at 10pm the same day! Now I really feel my money was well spent and wonder, why in the world the seller on eBay let go of this gem for such a pittance?

Marc Jacobs cucumber is always a good choice. This cucumber smells fresh and raw in its natural form. Cucumber hydrates and soothes your skin and it has that same calming clean effect on your sense of smell. Makes me think of rain showers, meadow walks, and gardening. It is like a cool relaxing breeze or touching cold water in a fresh spring. Makes me feel grounded and centered, like it is good for my soul! It is is really easy to wear when I do not want to smell like I am wearing a fragrance, but still want a pleasant aroma. It is also great to wear if I am going to a place where they are a lot of smells and I do not want my sent mixing with everything else that I am smelling. Very versatile!

This perfume was a blind buy for me online at a price worth taking a risk. I bought Marc Jacobs Cucumber and Pears. I like both perfumes and wear them together. This cucumber scent is fresh, clean and refreshing perfect for spring days. I notice it gives me a mood boost while wearing it. I know it has other notes but on my skin it smells like juicy fresh cut cucumbers only from start to finish.i prefer it to be a simple scent and highly recommend it to anyone wanting a fresh cucumber scent.(Mom used to grow cucumbers in her garden and make a lot of cucumber dishes so this brings back memories of her.)

I feel so incredibly lucky to have found this reduced at tjmaxx in Boston years ago. I can’t remember but I’m pretty sure I got a huge 300ml bottle for around $20!! (That was my fragrance budget back then) I wore it just about every summer since! That was probably 8-10 years ago and I still have a lot left! I even spilled quite a bit trying to decant the splash into an atomizer! I got so many compliments! The fresh scent was so refreshing for summer on the coast! I definitely oversprayed so it lasted all night long! It’s fun, fresh, unique, while still elegant. I looooove this gem!

It's like a fresh / clean soothing scented powder for all senses..Inoffencive and discreet, a love for me at first smell.. Soft, clean/fresh/soapy essence while quite sweet also, but not overdone, and so light .. it reminds me of CK one issues but in a slightly more elegant / niche way; even if it tends to sound more fem, it has its stability on unisex category IMO. Even if it would smell (for many ppl) as a 'pretty simple' deo from the grossery store i still love it! I feel some magic with it.

Well this is a tricky one. At first I was so hyped for this one that I almost blind bought it, but I didn't. Got a decant instead and I felt conflicted. I don't get the l'Eau d'Issey vibe others are talking about but I do get some lotus, and lots of cucumber and bamboo. If it were to be compared to l'Eau d'Issey, it'd be a severely diluted version of it. Initially, it got almost no scent on me. My mom, who has avenger-level nose sensitivity (seriously, she can smell CK One Gold even with just one spray), could not smell it. I don't know why it is this weak. It's like putting floral-cucumber water on me. I was hoping so much for this one as Marc Jacobs Rain is one of my favourite perfumes ever, but this let me down a bit. Weak longevity. No sillage. Could barely detect any scent from my skin. And that's coming from someone who likes light fragrances! But then... it got better in the dry down. I don't know how, but it smelt like a fresh watery skin scent. I really dig that. All in all, considering Cucumber's performance, I think it's overpriced. But I might get a bottle of it, still, because I like this collection and the dry down is really relaxing. Edit: I'm not getting a full bottle of this now. It smells 80 per cent similar to The Body Shop White Musk l'Eau. I also go a sneeze-inducing note here, similar to White Musk l'Eau. Maybe it's the hidden pear note? Too bad, I think it's decent enough, but for the price, I can't pull the trigger. Edit 2: Just found that DKNY Be Delicious is a better alternative to this one. That one smells very similar, lasts much longer, and is cheaper. Now I'm happy I didn't spend on Marc Jacobs Cucumber.

Honestly not sure how I feel about this fragrance. I can really smell the freesia in the scent. But the cucumber and catus flower are more noticeable. It kinda reminds me of a cleaning product, but not in a bad way. It's certainly a long lasting fragrance and a little definitely goes a long way. Very fresh and ideal for spring summer and agreed it's unisex. The packaging and bottle are certainly very masculine for Marc Jacobs. Not sure if this is one I'll end up keeping or giving away as brought on a whim without a tester as I love the Jo Malone Earle Grey and Cucumber fragrance.

I really had high hopes for this review :( I am now selling the 300 ml bottle on mercari that I bought brand new for nearly $200 for only $125 after just spraying it once because it was too unisex for me, I like very female fragrances and this scent was very white floral, green, with undertones of woody/musk that I did not like on me, it’s a nice smell but definitely not for me and now I have to sell it :( if anyone wants to purchase a 5ml spray bottle sample/tester just click on my page and send me an email please! I just need to make my money back lol

I bought this because of the refreshing scent of cucumber, and I love the bottle design, so simple and beautiful, but I found this scent is too maturish for my taste, so nowadays I only use this when I am at somewhere formal and want to seem more sophisticated and elegant.

This is mostly cucumber, bamboo and linden flower on me—in that order— with an overwhelming aquatic feel. A green pond comes to mind. In theory I like the idea of cucumber and bamboo as a scent, but I’ve never found either to be an easy wear. I’m always thinking these notes will make me feel like I’m in an exotic spa, but instead when I’m wearing Marc Jacob’s Cucumber I feel like I’m in a 1990s mall or a doctor's office. Instead of feeling rejuvenated, it’s overall depressing. I’ve had my 5ml decant for a couple of years. This whole time I’ve been dreading writing a review. Today I can safely say that Marc Jacobs Cucumber is not for me.

Marc Jacobs Cucumber Splash is just sooo lovely green and fresh. Perfect for warm and humid days. A sparkling and light companion for summer..But I use it all year long. Its perfectly unisex. I love the authentic juicy smell of freshly cut garden-cucumbers. It is slightly sweet, but yet totally fresh and carefree. Bamboo turns in and flower meadows. I like it so much – it smells so good and aquatic. Dewy comes to mind. I also love the cube bottle. Cucumber Splash reminds me a little bit of Gucci Bamboo. Performance isn't bad for a splash on my skin. I get compliments wearing this. But its not very long lasting.

In my opinion the best of the Marc Jacobs 2016 splash colognes. Nothing groundbreaking of course but fresh,simple and clean. The longest lasting on my skin. Yes it becomes a skin scent very quickly but it lasts in excess of 5 hours. Might be perfect for spring and summer when you want to feel fresh without the citrus or aquatic overload.

tried the sample yesterday. Not crazy about it. the palette in Fragrantica looks quite rich, but for it smelled very simple and cheap.
