Perfect Elixir

I got a sample of this in a GWP for an Ulta order I made... I was not expecting to like this at ALL, I thought it was just another blah MJ Perfect flanker cash grab. How wrong I was. Wear testing this was full of getting wafts of her, along with smelling where I sprayed repeatedly-- I couldn't help myself. The way the plum, honey mix together is absolutely captivating. It gives me rum vibes somehow?? Like it’s a sweet boozy smell almost, the best way to describe the depth of this sweetness is to say it’s how I expect dark, juicy plum nectar to smell. The rhubarb adds a beautiful, slightly earthy, GREEN vegetal depth that keeps you on your toes. Not to mention, what a fragrance to be my introduction to rhubarb! It certainly set the bar high. They all blend beautifully together, it’s actually kind of intoxicating. Upon dry down, the sweetness of the orange blossom combined with the amber had me second guessing if the honey note lingers for longer than I expected. This is a unique, deep, dark sweet alluring scent. This was an instant full bottle purchase for me.

I was so convinced this smelled exactly like cherries and made everyone in the airport lounge to smell it, everyone said coconut and I failed to see it!! I argued back 😭😭😭😭 the perfume expert who works there ended up smelling it and saying the same thing till two minutes later I sniff it again and suddenly I get a whiff of coconut? ANYWAYS iT’s SO CUTE it’s very girly young feminine fruity bubblegum something artificially like almond or marzipan and definitely 100% cherry some coconut as well theeeennnnn starts the beautiful greenery moment 😍🍃🍃 OMG OKAY NOW 10 MINS LATER THE COCONUT IS EVEN HEAVIER IT OVERPOWERS ALL THE OTHER NOTES ALTHOUGH!! I’M AWARE THERE IS NO COCONUT NOTE IT DEFINITELY SMELLS LIKE IT final review: coconut cherry very refreshing hehe the coconut part of it makes it feel tropical and refreshing since even tho it’s not there at the end of the day cherry is still a heavy note T_T

I really love this fragrance, I’ve seen comments saying it’s not special... but I highly disagree! It is NOT your average fruity floral, the rhubarb and plum notes are so intense and different than anything I’ve smelled before! Many common designer fruity florals are simply jasmine and orange blossom, this is so different. I remember the first time I smelled it at ulta, it felt as though I’d been bit on the nose by the fragrance fairy! and I just HAD to have it because it was so unique! Me personally, I sort of identify myself as a sort of artistic and very eclectic person, I wear colorful outfits and makeup every day, and I feel like this is my favorite fragrance for when I really want to exude my authenticity. It’s not a blind buy, it’s NOT for everybody, but it IS for some of us.

I wasn't quite sure about this one at first, but it really grew on me. The plum gives you a full-bodied burst of juice at the beginning. That sweet juiciness lingers throughout the drydown, as the vanilla comes to play. It's sweet without being juvenile - an elegant box of candies you take home from a trip abroad to impress your worldlier friends. Longevity is superb. I spray it in the morning before work and it's still there by the time I get home. This has become a real favourite, an everyday perfume that I often find myself reaching for. I should add the caveat that I wear this when I'm going to be in air-conditioned environments all day. I can see the fruitiness and sweetness quickly becoming cloying in hot weather. When the temperatures are low, it's the perfect pick-me-up.

I own the original Perfect EDP, Perfect EDT, and Perfect Elixir and the Elixir is my favorite of the three (EDP being second followed by EDT). Perfect Elixir is a sweet, fruity, floral surrounded by a warm, resinous base. Elixir is aptly named as it does represent a more potent version of the EDP modified with a delicious touch of a ripe plum. I don’t have an experienced nose that is able to dissect the aromatic components, but the overall blend is rich but balanced, different, and slightly addictive. I can imagine that it could easily be cloying if overdone. For an 8 hour workday, I use 2-3 sprays with a touch up about halfway through the day. This is the only one of the Perfect fragrances that I would repurchase. 💜

This is perfect! There's great sillage, decent longevity and a drydown that keeps you sniffing your wrist for more. The plum and rhubarb work expertly together, producing a sweet, fresh, almost spicy tone. The sweetness of the plum is an expert balance to the slight bitterness of the rhubarb. It mixes with vanilla and resin in the drydown, which, instead of overpowering or changing the scent, work to enhance the plum and rhubarb combination, adding more depth and intrigue. I had a sample initially, but I finished it quickly and now it's on my list for a full bottle. It's a much nicer and enhanced version than the OG Perfect, which I found a bit wishy washy in comparison.

Every skin reacts differently to perfume. For example, tropical flowers often go completely wrong for me, while tuberose does very well. Today I tried the elixir and was a little hesitant because of the negative reviews below. Luckily I don't recognize this one at all. On my skin it is a beautiful woody perfume with vanilla and the sweetness of plum and rhubarb. In the distance there are flowers that remind me of the first perfume from this line. Of all the new releases lately, I'm most impressed with this one. In my opinion, this perfume is completely unisex and easy for a man to wear. I am a seasonal person and will wear this in the fall and winter.

I managed to find this for a literal STEAL on EBay- and I’m sooo stoked! This is amazing. It’s not a floral bomb like most of the Marc Jacobs. Not the aforementioned is a bad thing, but this one is just very different. And, the lasting power is way better than many others! I was trying to figure out what this reminds me of- and it’s Ralph Lauren HOT! Which I think is discontinued, but this is sooo similar! It’s kinda musky, but with an airy bit to it. Definitely not floral; this leans gourmand without being overly cloying. This is nice for any occasion, but it won’t be a summer ‘freshie grab’- keep that in mind. Plus, the bottle is GORGEOUS!!!

been thinking about this one ever since I first tried it at Ulta last winter. Something about it is so oddly addicting to me, love how long it lasts & the way it evolves throughout the day. The dry down is what eventually got me hooked, it's especially sultry. Finally added Perfect Elixir to my collection now that fall's rolling in and I don't regret it one bit. Patchouli & amber are two of my favorite notes, and they're the ones that come through the strongest on my skin. I can see how some people find this scent a bit confusing, unable to decide whether they like it or not. It really grows on you though.

My wife loves this flanker! Smells very feminine, clean, fresh, sweet. I always enjoy it when she wears it. She's been wearing it for several days now. Each time the longevity is 12+ hours with STRONG projection for the first 3 hours and then it slowly starts to pull back, but it doesn't become a "skin scent" until around hour 8. It still pumps hard. Beautiful sillage. UPDATE 10/24/2024: Love this so much just picked up backup bottle. Might have to get backup bottle for her backup bottle! UPDATE 11/25/2024: Still loving this fragrance. Jomashop had tester for a great price, just snagged 3rd bottle 😂

This is such a warm and sexy fragrance! The plum is rich and lingers throughout the life of the perfume, blending expertly with the amber, resins, and vanilla. I love the slight honey/rhubarb opening ---a heady yet tart blast that doesn't last long but gives definite depth to what you're smelling. This one is intoxicating from beginning to end! The drydown does include some soft patchouli, but it is so well blended you do not get head shop or even green patch, but warm cozy patchouli with that amber/vanilla base. This is probably my favorite of the Perfect line. A definite winner!

I was very pleasantly surprised with this one - I had (perhaps wrongly) associated Marc Jacobs fragrances with teenage girls and thought they'd all be a bit juvenile for me personally. This one was lovely though - sweet and honeyed without being too overwhelming or nauseating. The notes work beautifully together without any of them taking all the attention - they all compliment one another and share the spotlight equally. The longevity is also impressive at over 8 hours. I'm definitely hoping to get my hands on a full bottle of this! :)

I sprayed this one on at Sephora and walked around the mall a bit longer. During that time, THREE strangers complimented me/told me I smelled good. I immediately went back and bought a full bottle. I think this is a sweet, cozy, every day type of fragrance that is a total crowd pleaser. I love love love the bottle and I am so happy with this fragrance! Long lasting too! ETA I went out to eat last night wearing it and another person came to my table to tell me I smelled good! This stuff PROJECTS but it doesn’t feel overpowering at all

Has a fragrance ever made your mouth literally salivate? I’ve personally never experienced that until perfect elixir... I’m in love guys. It has the perfect dna, but creamier/richer. The purple rhubarb/plum combo is soooo gorgeous- think like a mouthwatering blueberry or something along those lines. It’s sweet, fruity, creamy, fresh, warm/spicy, floral, but not too much of any of those in particular. It’s harmonious & balanced. It’s dare I say... perfect? lol. Very successful blind buy, this will by my signature fall/winter scent.

I actually really enjoy this! It's juicy, sweet, aromatic, and just pretty. Not ground making but really well done and I believe this could be worn year round. I get decent longevity and close to the skin sillage after only a couple of mins. I def want to add this to my collection. The best flanker yet imo. I get the tart/sweet juicy purple rhubarb, the sweet vanilla bean, and some of the woods in the middle, but it's honestly blended so well IMO....it's hard to separate the notes mentally. 7.5/10.

This is my go-to fragrance and I discovered it by accident. I came across Perfect Intense when smelling perfumes in the duty free, and I really liked it, but decided to look up the notes of the other Perfect variations. Elixir seemed ideal, and when I smelled it, I had to buy it straight away. It's both warm and fresh, sweet and spicy. I am not usually a fruity perfume lover, but the plum and rhubarb really work to lighten and round out the fragrance. A great daytime autumn and winter fragrance.

I received a sample of this in a pack, and am beyond in love with this perfume. The juicy plum and tart rhubarb stands out a lot to me in the beginning, and as the perfume dries down the patchouli and vanilla bean settle in and makes this scent so warm and delicious on my skin. I definitely will be purchasing a full bottle of this, and have a travel size already on the way. Longevity is fantastic and is easily smelled an arms length away. 10/10 for me, absolute lovvveeeee.

I bought a 10ml travel size to sample as I enjoyed the OG and this blew it out of the water. This might be my favourite Marc Jacob’s perfume I’ve tried and I’ve been through a lot of the Daisy flankers. I love the scent profile the fruit and amber resin tones and honey seem well blended with none overpowering the other. Plus it lasts and I don’t seem to go nose blind to it. Definitely full bottle worthy for me

Perfect was a bit too basic for me and perfect absolute pulled too old lady-ish on me with the jasmine but elixir is SO GOOD. Love the honey-rhubarb combo with the subtle juiciness from the plum and the amber and resin to make it a bit deeper/more mature. Wow wow. Also lasts a decent time on skin and all day on clothes. Very happy with this one. I like to layer it with Dior Hypnotic Poison.

The first time i tried it I instantly fell in love with this scent - first scent profile that I noticed was the mix of amber and vanilla. After I smelled it again in a few months - the scent was soo nauseating to me - all the rhubarb and plum I didn't smell the first time hit me like a truck! It's quite interesting how our scent perception can change do drasticallyover time!

I have Perfect Intense and Perfect EDT so I figured I'd like the Elixir and I sure enough did. It's an uplifting scent to my nose. It is on the sweeter side yet balanced. I have gotten compliments every time I've worn this perfume. The staying power is very strong in a positive way. The scent tones down after a few hours, but lingers a lot longer than other perfumes.

Sprayed this on in line in Superdrug and fell in love!! Perfect if you’re a sweet, soft spicy, fruity, white floral person. It’s moderate in sillage and longevity but definitely a feminine fragrance. First spray is sweet (due to the honey and plum) and zingy (due to the rhubarb). Has a perfect dry down soft ambery vanilla.

Love this fragrance! It’s resinous and ambery with a hint of vanilla. I don’t really smell the plum. It’s has good projection and creates a nice scent bubble. Love the color of the juice and the bottle is so cute! Moderate sprays lasts about 4 hours on me. This is one scent my skin doesn’t eat in 30 minutes.

I weirdly enough collect Marc Jacobs bottles and this is by far my favorite scent ever released. Most of the flankers are pretty similar but something about the perfect elixir is so special. It’s creamy yet powdery. The plum and amber as others have mentioned really shine through. This smells expensive.

Ugh this is so. good. The amber is so beautifully done. I love love love it. I agree with whoever said it's one of the best smells on the planet. There's something comforting about it. Like a warm, gorgeous hug. Idc what anyone says, Marc Jacobs makes great fragrances imo.

It is SIMILAR to the original and a bit of the intense - however it is still unique enough. So beautiful in the opening. The honey and plum are beautiful. This did not perform well in hot sticky heat - but not surprised. this will be beautiful in the fall and winter.

Never been a fan of Marc Jacobs perfumes but this one, OMG it’s a love! It smells a lot like Gucci Eau de Parfum II. That was my scent back in the early 2000s and I was bummed when it got discontinued. Just purchased the full bottle today. It’s amazing!

It’s a perfectly sweet perfume (coming from someone who doesn’t like overly sweet nauseating perfumes). Smells like its name: elixir. It’s rich but light at the same time. Very feminine and imo a really nice scent. Suitable for both daytime and night.

Such a great scent! Received a sample today, did not expect much. So much better that boring perfect edp (not similar at all). Plum, honey, milky (not even listed) notes. Comforting, very cosy scent. I really like it

This is addictive. It has a dominant note that bothered me at first, but I wanted to smell it again and again from a travel bottle until I bought a full bottle. It's complex, full of life, and has personality.

At first it was too much when i tried in store, but then it became more like a buttery popcorn with rhubarb and violet. Its very long lasting and delicious. The scent is very comforting and warm.

Warm and prominent amber coated in vanilla with the slight frutiness of plums. This one lasts a LONG time on your skin, and the dry down is extremely cozy. This one is perfect for fall/winter

I love this. So different. Soft, sweet, but not too sweet, plum and amber, touch of vanilla, and tiny touch of patchouli. Good sillage, people sitting near me gave compliments.

I like the original perfect for spring and I like this, for fall, winter. It reminds me a sweet, spiced cookie. want a bottle for sure. But i wouldn't wear in summer. 9/10

At first, the scent is enveloped in sweetness with a hint of dustiness, slightly cloying. Then, it becomes more subdued and gourmand. The dry down is very pleasant.

I absolutely love this scent! For me personally, I find it so alluring and beautifully sweet on my body chemistry. It reminds me a lot of a Killian perfume.

One of the best perfumes I've smelt in a while. This perfume reminds me Hugo boss femme on the dry down but a bit more warmer and deeper.

Perfect Elixir is an odd one. The first time I tried it I was like this is meh and very similar to Pure Purple from H. Boss which I already have. The second time I decided that it’s better and now I’m regretting that I didn’t buy it on clearance at Marshall’s when I had the chance. Btw this is readily available at discount stores right now. I’ve seen it at Marshall’s, Ross, TJ Maxx and Burlington. Maybe it isn’t selling for Marc Jacobs. It definitely has that marzipan quality just like Pure Purple. I’m surprised that almond or marzipan isn’t listed. I will buy a bottle when I run out of PP. I think this would layer well with some vanilla and gourmand perfumes. I layered it with Sphinx Sugar Soirée. They went well together.

Marc Jacobs Perfect Elixir is a surprisingly well-balanced blend of sweet, fruity, and warm notes that work together beautifully. It feels herby. I don’t know if I love it the same.

When I first got this perfume I was like eh, ermmm because I often feel conflicted about Marc Jacobs perfumes. This one though is pretty nice. If you want a sweet smelling perfume with a strong note of honey (+ a faint bit of vanilla), and apparently a bit of almond (maybe), then you'd probably like it. The longevity is really good, but that should be expected since it's an eau de parfum. Although, sometimes I think I get a 'play-doh' scent from this perfume. As a child I wanted to eat 'play-doh', so I'm not too against it. If you don't want a strong, sweet fragrance then obviously this isn't for you.

Surprised by the maturity of this. It’s deeper, darker, much more complex than all the other flankers and all recent Marc Jacobs releases in general. On my skin the dry down has something almost boozy to it. It’s sweet, warm, cosy and I’m so far getting good 3-4 hours of pretty strong sillage. I generally don’t reach for Marc Jacobs fragrances, because I think I aged out of their demographic, but I actually... like this one?

First notes that sort of giving me the 2 layer cake, top layer is this sweet honey plum jelly , a bit of m white floral and next layer is vanilla with a tad bitter undertone and incense. I mostly only taste the top layer but the vanilla with a touch of bitterness kinda balance the overly sweet. The plum note smell almost a bit liquorish to my nose but well balanced w honey beautifully. I think it’s kinda playful.
