Marigold

Here's my very first review! I only registered to rate this perfume because I saw that there's not a lot of info about it online, nor here. So, my favorite scents are: Sí by GA, Burberry HER, Lady Gaga Fame (discontinued), Black Opium by YSL and Alien by TM... However, I cannot afford any of these anymore (I'm saving for a house LOL), so after years of blind-buy ZARA and Lattafa perfumes, I decided to just go to a store and see if I can find something cheaper I like. And that's the story of how I found Marigold! Now, this perfume is STRONG. I was looking for something just like this. Something that smells like a bag of fruity candy. I am not gonna lie, this scent is SWEET. To me the raspberry, pear, peony and praline notes come out first, then as the hours pass, I can start to smell the base notes, the musk and amber. However, the scent stays very sweet. In the hair, it's really amazing, and stays for days! Can this sweetness give you a headache? Yeah, maybe. But I honestly don't care. I've lost my sense of smell due to COVID a year ago, and I think this scent is now part of my senses-training. I love it! It's sweet as hell but this is what I was looking for. It's not an old-lady scent, it's not fresh, it's literally like walking into a candystore. I will collect some data on it from the people around, but so far I like it, and my dogs don't sneeze from it (which is huge, because they hate perfumes). Great bottle, simple, elegant, pretty. Good value for money, 100ml for €25.

This is a very literal fruitchouli. To me this is potent, long lasting and VERY FRUITY. Too fruity for me, in fact. I do like patchouli in fragrances, and I also like raspberry and red berries, so I started buying some fragrances with those notes, but I'm finding I don't care for them together. The combination is just too saturated for me. I thought I would love "Cast a Spell" by Lulu Guinness, but really couldn't handle it, and had to return it. I find this to be in the same general category. Objectively speaking, this isn't a terrible fragrance. The quality of both the perfume and the bottle seem very nice for the low price, but to like this, you must be ok with an intense, tart raspberry and patchouli combination. Those are the most prominent here. If those are some of your favorite notes, this fragrance would be a great value for you.
