Like it’s decided you belong to it now. First spray, and I actually paused. Mandarin, yes - but not juicy. Not cheerful. More like light reflecting off metal. Cold light. There’s this mineral thing right away. Salty. Airless. Like wet stone, or skin after cold rain. It doesn’t feel like perfume. It feels like an atmosphere. And honestly... It’s strange at first. Not unpleasant. Just... unfamiliar. Like your brain is trying to file it somewhere, and there’s no folder for it. Give it twenty minutes, and it shifts. The citrus dissolves into this dry, mineral haze. Slightly bitter. Slightly floral, but in a faded way. Violet, maybe. Immortelle - dry, slightly spiced. Nothing soft or welcoming. Everything feels clean but not comforting. Controlled. Distant. Then the suede shows up. Not warm, fuzzy suede. More like the idea of suede. Smooth. Abstract. It doesn’t replace the mineral core - it wraps around it. Makes it human. Akigalawood brings a quiet woodiness that sits close to the body, grounding everything. The composition becomes less abstract, more physical. Suddenly, it’s not just cold space. It’s skin inside the cold space. That’s when it clicks. Or... it did for me. There’s no sweetness to rescue you. No vanilla safety net. It stays dry. Mineral. Slightly metallic. A quiet saffron-like warmth in the base that never fully blooms, just hums under everything. It smells expensive in a way that’s hard to explain. Not rich. Just... inevitable. Performance is, frankly, extraordinary. 12 hours, easily. And it lingers on fabric for days. Not loud. But persistent. People notice it without understanding why. And that’s the thing. Ganymede doesn’t try to be liked. Some people will hate it. Some won’t get it. It can feel cold. Detached. Almost inhuman. But if it clicks with you... It becomes addictive. To me, it smells like mineral light. Like clean skin in cold air. Like becoming someone slightly more distant, slightly more untouchable. Not a safe buy. Not a crowd-pleaser. But if you’re tired of smelling like everyone else... this is on another planet entirely. ganymede is something ive been wanting to buy a sample of for a long time, and now that im able to try it, id be a liar if i said i wasnt pleasantly surprised. i personally enjoy space/futuristic scents a lot, and this is the only one that hits the mark in full totality so far. at first, ganymede fronts with a heavily curry-spice scent. its prickly and ashy in my nose til it dries down properly and absorbs into the skin. the drydown on me is a beautiful metallic saffron dusting over musk and suede. the curry notes still ghost below it with spice, but they tend to be overshadowed by what im assuming is the osmanthus providing a more powdery fig scent. all together, it creates a swirling metallic powdery floral, weirdly fresh, that carries some deeper spices. these notes sound like they dont mesh whatsoever, and they actually *dont* on paper. on a tester paper strip, it smells like watery mens cologne, but on my skin, they sing in fresh synthetic harmony. this is definitely a skin-chemistry-dependant fragrance, so i beg you, DO NOT BLINDBUY! ganymede is hard to get used to, but once you do, it almost beckons you to wear it, similar to the call of the unknown that humans feel when staring up into the cosmos. it is the embodiment of space scents in my opinion; it has aldehylic mystique with musk and minerals, reminiscent of viewing the sky from another planet. it has dusty florals that bring a sense of familiarity, as if finding life on another world. it has layers of spice and savory notes that invoke the complicated composition of ganymede's (the moon) atmosphere. it is beautiful.

On the opening of Ganymede, the metallic mineral note is what I notice first. It is strong in a plesent way, behind it there is a rich almost dark slightly burnt smokey balsamic spice note along with oud and a tiny bit of leather. As Ganymede dries down the notes stay identical to the opening with just the slightest fading of everything but the metallic mineral note & the smokey balsamic note. These two notes feel so closely intertwined here I think that the smokey balsamic note might be part of the metallic mineral note. Ganymede performs nicely but not amazingly. On the longevity side it lasted just over 6 hours on my skin but surprisingly much much longer on clothing. It has lasted over 24 hours on my sweatshirt and seems inclined to last untill I wash it. A 6/10 for longevity. The projection on Ganymede is a bit low, besides the initial application and the 15 minute following it, I found it to be mostly a skin level scent. Seeming to settle at rising an inch, maybe 2 off my skin. A 6/10 for projection. While it’s projection is low and I would like a little more from it, I’m also glad it wasn’t extremely strong. I think Ganymede would suffer from projection if that was the case. As a fragrance & scent I really liked Ganymede, the metallic mineral note is the best part and I am really glad the fragrance highlights that note. Overall Ganymede gets a 8/10 for me, it is unique in a way that I really enjoy. I love the mineral matallic note with the almost burnt balsamic smell to it. I would definitely wear it again, I think for me it would be a great fall scent.

My signature fragrance. Love at first sniff. This is the first fragrance which feels like it is a part of me. Ganymede is the classical men's fragrance brought to 2020. Ganymede opens up with mandarin, mineral, violet and "airy" notes. After 10 minutes the mandarin starts to flee and the saffron steps forward. I know there is no official leather note in here, but I definitely smell beautiful leather from the first spray till Ganymede vanishes. In other words: The leather note is in my opinion the main player of this fragrance. But it is a different leather scent, nothing I've ever smelled. The performance is also incredible. Ganymede doesn't push out like eg. Interlude Man, rather it always lingers in the air. Once you don't smell it for two hours, but then you'll get a whaft of it later in the day. Ganymede is suitable for every occasion, T-shirt to suit, spring, summer, autumn and winter - fun fact: It is the only "leather" fragrance I know of, which one can wear in the summer heat (lightly used). What wonders me the most: I'm in this hobby for years and years and never received a compliment, never. With this though I received many, maaaaany - men love it, women love it. My classmate and coworkers bagged me to decant a few ml so they can wear it. I never experienced something like that. All in all it is the perfect fragrance, it is "my" fragrance.

@eau du olus said that this smells like a dentist's office, and now i can't get it out of my head. That's because that, in the opening, that is exactly what Ganymede edp smells like. Don't worry, that doesn't last long. What a beautiful scent. It's hard to properly describe exactly what this smells like. I must admit that, despite having an "ok" amount of niche fragrances in my collection, I do not have a trained nose in the sense that i can easily pick out notes and accords like some more experienced collectors. The best way that i could describe Ganymedes smell is; cold metal with a touch of woodsy notes, and to ME, is incredibly beautiful. Ganymede doesn't seek to be "mass appealing", but rather pushes artistry instead. I can respect that. That's not to say that this is NOT mass appealing. So far, i haven't had any complaints. Mind you, this was my daily for an entire year. Yes, I wore it pretty much everyday regardless of where i was, and what i was doing. LOTS of compliments. Lots. Ganymede, to me, is very special. I do not see everyone liking this. At all. But to those of us that have a curious nose - give it a shot. Order a decant (you should be, for EVERY niche fragrance), and see if you like it. I would NOT blind buy this.
