Lankaran Forest

Lankaran forest was received today as an additional sample to a purchase. There is an olfactive pyramid that is more replete listed on base notes. It is: top notes of bitter orange and petit grain, middle notes of lankaran black tea, lichens accord, sandalwood, leaves, sacred woods accord. This is not my typical scent, but I like it! The opening is such a stiff gin and tonic, that I am instantly beset with ghosts of hangovers past. Fortunately, the citrus and black tea take more of a lead not long after blending together to become a refreshing cheery forest. In this forest, I imagine there are large sap drenched evergreen trees, with brown needles crunching beneath my feet. Peel an orange with a cup of black tea, and you have lankaran forest. I find this scene, and scent, simultaneously exhilarating and serene. The composition is unisex, and grows sweeter as it develops. Subjectively a steep price tag considering it only last 2 hours on skin, but holds more steadfast on clothing.

Mainly a woody fragrance. Citrus comes second. And green and herby as a third part. Slightly soapy note. Clean scent, but it feels like it is a "in nature" vibe. Something i connect to being outside. It's called "Lankaran Forest", and that makes sense to me. The longer in i get, the more woody green it gets, making it more and more "forest" as time passes. I'd agree with "fresh" in some ways. It doesn't give me the "refreshing vibe". It does have a soapy note that can be giving of a "fresh" feeling for some, but not for me. I'd say this is wearable for anyone, anytime. But spring and fall is where i'd prefer it. A bit too much for the heat of summer, in my opinion. Personal score: 8.5/10. It's e really great fragrance. It's transporting me to the woods. It has the unmistakable and fantastic "Maria Candida Gentile" signature to it. It's something i'd put on and feel like i'm slightly in touch with nature, but knowing that i smell clean and spectacular.

First off, this perfume is very confusing if you compare them to the notes listed on Fragrantica. The correct notes are: Top notes: Bitter orange Petit Grain Heart notes: Lankaran black tea, Lichens accord Base notes: Sandalwood, Leaves, Sacred wood accords Using these notes I can make much more sense of what I am smelling. This is a unique take on a citrus fragrance. The citrus is actually quite bitter like only rind has been used, and doesn’t present in your typical fresh zingy way. The petit grain and black tea adds to the bitterness, but paired with the underlying woods, this is a smooth aromatic fragrance with an almost luxury-soap-like quality. This is an elegant unisex fragrance which I imagine English aristocrats wearing at a springtime afternoon tea party in a beautifully manicured garden.

This is quite an intriguing scent, first sniff and I'm kinda hooked! There's a green element here I just cannot pin down. I don't think I've ever smelt this before! Reminds me a little of what Japanese melon notes smell like (in desserts), and there is also a coniferous element. Liquidnight does kinda remind me of this, but not entirely. I need to let this sit for a while, but as of this first experience, I am indeed intrigued! It's fragrant, green, a little woody and quirky-fruity. Not what I usually go for, but, you know, I kinda don't usually go for what I usually go for...

Nice meditative scent with only or mostly naturals in it. Feels very good during spring time or early summer time. Smells like black tea with citruses and light woods. But the longevity is weak, could not smell it after 3 hours om me while walking outside on sunny day. I think for over 150€ it is not adequate to be this weak if it would be around 80€ ai would be satisfied. But can recommend if you want intimate, natural smelli g parfume that will make you not smell bad after few hours but will not really get any attention.

With subtle notes of citrus and spicy tea, we are carried all too briefly to a place of serenity and peace. An effortless olfactory transformation: where first there was thin air, there is a lingering sweetness, then just a memory of woods and incense as it this perfume fades away again to nothing. Alchemy, transience, silence.

Pettigrain and a citric opening gives a fresh lightness to a forest scent. The tea and lichen with the woody notes give this a modern spring and summer scent for forest type scent lovers. This isnt heavy at all. Beautifully done and lovely for someone looking for a unique artisan scent. Unisex in nature.

Other things are present but on my skin, it smells like Old Bay... a spice mix used on seafood in my home state of Maryland. Nostalgic but not a wearable scent for me.

Citrus and fig leaf and soap, maybe a bit of wood. Only lasted a couple hours.

i am glad that i have always liked/loved certain scents. quickly realizing that my nose belonged to me and not some critic who has decided what is good and bad. frankly, most reviews are basic "i like" or "i don't like." and then there are the witty ones. they who savage something with "superiority," skewering with clever words and god-almighty importance. so what does this have to do with lankaran forest? i think a lot. there may be a tendency to read reviews and come away with a prejudice.the downside is that some perfume lovers/collectors are turned away from decent products. when i got my sample of LF from an order with parfumaria, my first sniff from the vial was uninspiring. i then read about the house which i had never heard of. and read reviews. based on certain reviews from those with HUGE fragrance collections, i was not expecting much from it. however, on my skin it has developed nicely. i like it and feel good about it. although, i am not too sure that i would want to wear it that often. i do not get any sort of forest smell. instead, it is a soft floral/fruit/spice melage. it reminds me of a small cabinet where a young woman had stored her fragrances for many years that is now empty and undisturbed for a while. it is memory. it does not seem to me to worldly though it is a bit exotic. an innocence of growing up on a warm weather island.

Olympic National Forest this is not. Amazon Rainforest this is not. Actually, this doesn't smell forest-like at all. I don't know about you guys but Maria got me out here smelling like my 7th grade locker room. All the accords from the athletic facility are here. The musky fumes from sports gear, the numerous vapors emanating from bar soaps and the masculine freshness from the speed sticks of the world. The only thing missing are the dirty metallic benches. Back to the subject of the fragrance: This opens with a smell that i can only describe as isopropyl alcohol then it quickly settles to that locker room accord that i mentioned consisting of musky citrus, musky woods, and all the green soaps in existence.....And that my friend is Lankaran Forest. Nothing more nothing less. The scent becomes more peaceful over time. If you're patient enough to wait for the drydown, you will notice the mixture taking the sweet route. Don't get caught up in the mentioning of sweet stuff though. The sweet notes alone isn't the redeeming quality to an otherwise basic fragrance. This is my first venture into the Maria Candida line and I'm gonna need Maria to step it up!!!

Very pretty mix of black tea (which should be added in the notes) and bitter orange. As always with MCG, the fragrance really 'clicks', all pieces fit together into one coherent blend. But as often is the case as well with this brand, the fragrance doesn't last that long. Good if you're looking for something that gives you a happy feeling, even for a short while.
