Im rewriting this review because so much has happened since I got this perfume. Apparently when it turns this amber color it starts to smell better. It does smell expensive in its current state. I'm more of a Gourmand lover so im really seeking out the marshmellow notes >_< hopefully this gets better. I purchased the original formula on eBay for a very good price so im exited to smell that version but for right now its already a love and I see myself wearing this often. I like it as it is right now and cant wait for it to get better as it ages. Its a nice fragrance. Subtle sexyness and I can see myself wearing this to bed because its softer in its current form. Its sweet and the florals are not too overpowering. The smokiness is also noticeable. The drydown is wonderful. Im sure things will get a lot stronger and more blended when it ages. The more I smell this the more I love it and it hasn't even turned yet. I really do like it for what it is and I cant wait for it to start evolving! I cant really explain the notes but I can try! I'm definitely getting the feeling of a breezy night sitting in front of a campfire on the beach. My nose is slowly picking things out. I smell the incense now!! Its such a smooth take on incense and its not overpowering. Its slightly powdery. The seawater note is there and it almost feels like a sea breeze when the sun has set and theres a bunch if friends around a compare. I cant pick up on the marshmellow too much. (Maybe I will in the other bottle) But I do get some sweetness in this. Its slowly becoming one of my favorites and I definitely see this shining in the fall. It reminds me of the music video for the song always be my baby... its sweet (not the tooth decay type), sensual and cozy. I really do see myself wearing this often! I dont have anything like it in my collection. Its beautiful now that I've had time to appreciate it. This is what I would describe as a dreamy fragrance. A fragrance that takes me away to a relaxing moment in time where I can just breathe and let my eyes fall. There something so nostalgic and comforting in this to me.. thats just me though. My mom or aunt probably wore something like this when I was a kid :) its so simple yet so elegant and special. To me its so... magical.. slightly romantic. This is what I would imagine mariah to smell like in the 90s. Its innocent yet mature.. simplistic yet it conjures up so many different feelings. This is a gem. Its like the perume I never knew I needed. A lot of ppl are expecting something so complex and in some ways it is but its also very simple and elegant. It hasn't turned amber yet but I don't really care at this point because its in my top 10 :) and I plan on buying another bottle even though mine is still full. Everytime I smell this now I get happy. Its calming and cozy. It makes me wanna cuddle. With new fragrances I always try to keep it for a good two weeks before deciding how I feel about it or even try it in different weather. If you dont like this now give it some time. I love this. I love this so much I'm buying 2 more bottles! Including a 1.7oz bottle of the original formula I found on ebay! I got lucky :) and im going to continue purchasing as many bottles of the amber liquid as I can. I already have 2 coming in the mail. 1 is the newer formulation with amber liquid but the other is the original all glass bottle with amber liquid. I'll update if I smell any differences betweenthe 3 bottles I own!! Edit: ... alright 😂 finally got all the bottles. The newest version is more floral and the sea breeze note goes well with those florals. I think the sea breeze overpowers the marshmellow and thats why I wasn't able to smell it in the near bottle. Not by much its just a slight difference. The older bottle with the plastic cap and the amber liquid from 2018 has more of a patchouli scent with the sea breeze. Slightly warmer and a bit stronger than the new 2021 bottle. The third has the darkest amber color. To me this is the smoothest sweetest version. My bottle is from 2011 I can actually smell more marshmellow and amber in this one. I think the biggest difference between all three is the drydown. 2011 is sweet ambery goodness, 2018 is amber patchouli and 2021 is floral patchouli. They all smell very similar but if your nose is sensitive then I can understand why ppl would think they are different. I agree it has been reformulated. The original has more of a fluffy marshmellow amber drydown. And I have to say .. yes the original is my favorite. Though I could wear them interchangeably because they all smell amazing!

My bottle is an aged bottle with dark amber coloured juice. There is something so beautiful about this fragrance. It smells nice from the cap, but on skin it is intoxicating. I smell the fluffy marshmallow opening, but none of the sea water note, I don't know if that is more noticeable in a new bottle that hasn't aged. The base is a slightly smokey amber with a hint of sweetness and maturity. This smells much more interesting and unique than most celebrity fragrances I have tried. I have tried a few more Mariah Carey fragrances since I fell in love with this one and they range from awful to average celebrity fragrances, not really worth purchasing in my opinion. But this one is special. I have tried and own a lot of fragrances and haven't found anything that smells quite like it. M has amazing performance on me. It lasts about 8-10 hours and has a wonderful sillage that is noticeable, but far from room filling. Your fragrance will be noticed as you walk by, but it dissapates quickly. In the past I have paired this with the body care and they extended the wear by at least a few hours. The bottle is super cute, but very cheap looking and doesn't really fit the vibe of the fragrance. The bottle is youthful and girly, I could see a pre-teen girl loving this on her dresser. But the fragrance is much more suited to a grown woman who is more likely to hide this bottle in a drawer or cupboard. This on my list of favourite celebrity fragrances and I have purchased a backup bottle. I still see this fragrance available on discount sites for a great price. I have heard that the unaged, current formulation is far more generic without the depth of the older formulation. The good news is that if you have the patience to let this age the amber really develops over time.

Holy Mother of God what a brilliant cheapy! If you put this perfume in some Niche brands bottle, they could get 100's for this. I am so glad that this is available for $14 an ounce. I blind bought this to give it a try, I am going to go back and get a bigger bottle. This is STUNNING! I had M on my radar for a while but I was scared by the marshmallow and sea notes but I didn't need to be. The marshmallow comes off like vanilla and the sea notes smell like a salty musk which to me smells like sexy salty skin. I get gardenia and tiare flower, but this is not a tropical perfume, the florals are less heady but more like skin or petals on skin. This perfume is all about the incense/amber/patchouli combo w/ this salty/vanilla skin musk sensuality that is going on here. I see this is as a great date night perfume. Very sexy, dynamic, bold w/out being crass, and unique. M proves that many celebrity perfumes are great value for money and should not be scorned. This is a perfume for a grown woman who is quite the femme fatal. It is almost like the bottle is a decoy. It looks innocent on the outside but inside is a potion that will seduce and bewitch those around you. This is one of the sexiest perfumes I have smelled in a long long time. Brilliant! Edit: 12/12/22 Wearing this more and I do get a toasty marshmallow thing going on here but in a good way. This perfume isn't gourmand. It's salty, sweet, a little beachy, a little middle eastern. It has a lot of genres going on but unlike a lot of expensive Niche perfumes that I have sampled that do the same thing, M does it in a way that works. It's subtle but still dynamic. My husband went nuts for this fun, sexy little cheapy. Once again proving you don't have to spend a ton of money to smell great.

This is something I would have NEVER picked up for the following reasons. 1. I hate the bottle design. 2. I'm not a huge fan of Mariah Carey 3. I'm never impressed by celebrity fragrances But I had to admit she was ahead of her time when she made this perfume. This actually smells nice and better than the niche fragrances I have been smelling lately. There is a scene in the Mask of Zorro where Antonio Banderas and Catherine Zeta Jones have been sword fighting then have a really passionate, steamy and very unforgettable erotic like kiss. That kiss represents what this perfume envelopes. This is sensual, passionate and that final 'giving into the desire' moment. Don't be fooled by the marshmallow note, as much as it's a sweet note this isn't an overly sweet perfume. The incense, amber and patchouli gives this such a depth, warmth and maturity. The marshmallow note is also better than Dolce and Gabbana Pour Femme. The florals are not in your face either, you can smell they are there but it's very smooth and more in the background. I have been using this to spray as my base layered perfume as it creates a "luxurious body lotion" smell. I have also layered this with Kayali Utopia Vanilla Coco and I just fall in love with myself. I smell so damn good.. I am impressed and have bought 2x 100ml bottles already, which was $60AUD altogether. Tis been a good week. 😉

M is primarily about the tiare, which is enhanced beautifully by incense and oceanic notes. What surprised me most about this fragrance was how non-gourmand I found it. While it is sweet, I would not personally have guessed that marshmallow was a note. When I think of a strong marshmallow note, I think of something like that in Estee Lauder Pleasures Delight. Here it is nowhere near that intensively sweet or foody. The sweetness in M comes across as an ambery-floral sweetness, rather than anything candy-like. The salty marine note is quite strong on me, indeed it is one of the dominant notes. I get only the smallest pinch of patchouli. The salt and incense combination does give off a mild sharpness, but it comes across as pleasant rather than artificial. The staying power and sillage are both very good. Although there is no coconut, nor any exotic fruits going on here, M has a slightly tropical feel courtesy of the buttery white flowers. I get sweet and creamy tiare, surrounded by a soft cloud of ambery incense and the salt spray off of a moonlit tropical beach. M goes well beyond the usual celebrity fragrance formula. Neither the ad campaign nor the bottle really do this fragrance justice. The marketing suggests something playful, whimsical, and geared towards a very young demographic. On the contrary, I find M quite sophisticated and unique.

Bought this many years ago and was not blown away in the least. It felt brash and sort of disjointed. Misaligned. However, over this time I have come back to it on numerous occasions to have a sly spray or two. Basically, it grew on me and I learned to appreciate how off-kilter and sort of bizarre it seems to me. It smells so odd as a perfume that I feel safer thinking of it as, say, a hair styling product. Something like that, perhaps. A very fancy one, mind you. A fancy bathing oil perhaps? It is sort of like a strawberry scented product for me. Yet strangely candied and floral. No dreaded patchouli anywhere in sight, this isn't one of those nasty sweet fruitchouli scents that I personally abhor. This is creamy and candied - like (strawberry) bubblegum. Lasts incredibly well and projects nicely with one spray to each wrist. Becomes less sweet and more smooth as it wears on, the "strawberry" and florals meld into a soft vanillic caramelized scent in the end. I prefer it in the dry down, when it becomes more tender. I can't say that I smell any marshmallow, but I do get a sort of burnt wood note, a blast in the beginning that sits behind the other far stronger notes as the scent wears on. Very sweet. But the projected scent smells more demure and refined floral than the up close and personal toothachingly sweet impression.

This was such an innovative fragrance for its time. Being one of the earlier celebrity scent releases and managing to have a unique and complex scent composition. It smells like toasted marshmallows at a bonfire right next to the ocean. I get the aquatic notes, marshmallow, some sort of “smokiness” and a sweet earthiness from the amber (NOT patchouli). It definitely doesn’t smell like a million bucks but to be so affordable and still maintain a level of uniqueness is quite a difficult feat these days, especially where celebrity scents are concerned. It seems like they all fall into the same exact 2 accords these days (Shampoo fresh or cotton candy sugar) and there’s an obvious lack of quality or performance in most of these scents. My bottle is newer stock, so it’s previous quality and longevity has definitely been scaled back as reformulations take place through the years. However, in 2019, and in my 200+ scent wardrobe, this perfume manages to remain in a league of it’s own, and I’m so happy I own it. I would never consider getting rid of it and I’m thrilled I bought the biggest bottle. I’m sure that with a few years age (around the time the liquid starts to change colors) the oils in this scent will only get better and richer.

Wow... I have long since let go of my snobbery towards celeb fragrances, some of my favourites are those cheapies you can get at the chemist, but this is really something. I don’t pick up much of the marine note at all, and the opening is a *tad* too sweet at first for my liking. However, this dries down like an expensive delight. I noticed that one of the noses behind this is Carlos Benaim, who also helped develop my beloved, yet tragically discontinued, Bvlgari Jasmin Noir (completely different, to everyone except apparently Bvlgari’s managers, than the new Splendida version). This perfume has helped me finally work out what the “magic something” in Jasmin Noir is, that has so eluded me in finding a replacement jasmine. It’s not the jasmine I love so much: it’s the amber! The delightful combination of white florals with a base of amber (and perhaps the patchouli although I can’t detect it outright), is exactly what I was after. “M” is feminine and sophisticated, and I think I’ve finally found my Jasmin Noir replacement.

I'm in love ! <3 Bringing me back to 2000's for sure. This is victoria secret vibes. On Paper: Sea salt/water, a bit sharp, floral and a hint of marshmallow and a good hint of patchouli is what I smell. The notes are there for sure. Its stunning. Just so sexy and mysterious smelling. It's fun and playful. On Skin: Warms up a lot on the skin. Marshmallow is there. Incense is strong on skin but not overbearing. Patchouli is also there and the sea water isnt very noticeable. Overall: I love this fragrance. I really will wear this everyday and its just so warming and nice. Suitable for autumn, winter, day time. And suitable for night time during the summer nights. Tbh, wear it whenever you want to. I am mid twenties, young woman. And this is a fun and playful fragrance and has some sexiness too. Sexy? - Yes. 7/10 Personal rating - 9.5/10. I wish the salt water was stronger on the skin, and I wish it was more projecting.

When I bought it during the winter it was at first a bit of a disappointment to me. I expected more notes of incense and amber than I got. I mostly got the notes of sea water and marshmallow. I could also smell the tiare flower and hints of gardenia. Then when the summer came I decided to give it another chance and I have started to enjoy it alot! For some reason that soft scent of marshmallow and the salty sea water notes works really well on my skin during warm weather. It does not become too cloying. Instead it has this soft, sweet and powdery presence to it. The hints of gardenia is not too much either and the notes of incense is very subtle. It makes me think of roasted marshmallows over a bonfire at the beach during a summers night. I agree with earlier reviews that it kind of reminds you of 90's Mariah Carey. The longetivity is great and I have also got compliments for it to my surprise.

I love this fragrance. I was so worried when I purchased it because it was a blind buy, and the reviews seemed pretty divided. I'm into sweet perfumes for the most part so I was a bit worried when some people said all they could smell were floral notes. Luckily for me this ended up being the perfect balance of floral, sweet and smokey. Regardless of what the floral notes may be, I smell lilac. It reminds me of standing next to the giant lilac bushes my mom always had in our yard when I was growing up. I also smell marshmallow and a smokey note which I would guess must be the incense. I saw a review that said something similar: This perfumes is like roasting marshmallows over a bonfire with bushes blooming with flowers are all around. This is strong and long lasting for me. I'm glad I took a chance on it.

this is my everyday perfume, it’s super easy to wear and gets me sooo many compliments. a man literally came up to me the other day and told me i smelled amazing. i feel like this is one of those perfumes that might not mix well with certain body chemistry, but on me it smells mostly of marshmallow with a little hint of floral. but this perfume is so cheap, i found a 1oz at ross for $10, they have it on fragrancenet for really cheap. so it’s not a huge loss if you try it and don’t like it, but it is definitely worth trying. i use it everyday since it’s so cheap and i don’t feel bad about over spraying!! only lasts on me for about 4-5 hours which is the only bummer. but definitely a great work appropriate everyday perfume ☺️

How the heck does something smell like the exact woman I want to embody??? This perfume has a life of its own. You wear it and immediately you become this... empowered symbol of elegance. If scents had a dictionary this would be the perfume under the word ‘pretty’. While the sillage isn’t the best, this definitely lasts long. The best part is even after a shower, the scent is still there, subtle but lingering. For me, this is such a perfect downtown-girl-core scent. It’s what I think a young girl like season 1 Elena Gilbert would wear but also reminds me of my mom when she put on perfume before going to work in the morning and kisses my half-asleep toddler-self goodbye. This was... wow. I’ve got to get another bottle.

M feels like watching Disney's Fantasia on a pre-spring rainy winter night and pondering about all the long lost, lighthearted crushes you had years ago... contemplating how grateful you are to experience this fragile, sentimental state known as womanhood, as you put on a metallic purple nail polish before getting a night call from this boy you've been (decently) fantasizing about to meet up for a late night drive... The salty/marine nuance on this bittersweet Tiare flower, wrapped under a fluffy marshmallow makes me think of those mermaids from The Mermaid's Lagoon... 💜🍧🦑🌊🌙 like a sweet entity getting dipped in salty water lake. the incense brushes off any immaturity, amplifying this racy quality about it... ugh!

This summer i'm finding myself utterly smitten with salty fragrances, and this one fits that description, the light florals, incense and marshmallow to my nose are all quite light and airy and what brings them all together is a unifying background wave of marine notes and sea salt; altogether it's a very unique perfume and surprisingly likable, given the very odd mixture of notes! Clever blending, subtle salty sweetness with a touch of amber for warmth, and an overall lightness of touch means this is a no-brainer summertime grab 'n spritz; both unusual and super wearable. I think it's a fairly safe blind buy as long as you're expecting something airily feminine and sweet, and not some statement gourmand.

I really did not like this at first. I sprayed it on and was repulsed. I returned it ASAP. But on the ride home the smell on my skin changed within minutes to something indescribably unique and good. It almost smells niche. The bottle and the fact its a celeb frag throws you off. I did not wash it off and the smell lingered all day. I felt so bad for returning it that I re bought a bottle online. Let this one grow on you before you make a decision! It starts a bit screechy but changes quickly to something really nice. Lasts long too Only criticism I have is the super tacky bottle. Sprayer is nice but the bottle is so ugly and the lid doesn’t click on well at all. What is inside the bottle counts though!

I was gifted this perfume years ago, and back then, I didn't like it. Cue early quarantine, when I discovered Fragrantica and the world of olfactory enthusiasts, and I revisited this beautiful bottle. The juice had turned a deep amber in the recesses of my cabinets. I'm not crazy about gourmands, they tend to overpower me–– but M is mature and seductive with age. I get a light saltiness, like a sea breeze, over toasted (nearly burnt!) marshmallow. The white flowers read as smoky over soapy somehow, and it's truly divine. It's currently a little warm for this powerhouse fragrance but now that it's returned to my possession, I'll definitely be getting use of it later this year.

Seductive, smooth incense and bold white florals with a touch of heavenly marshmallow. This is highly concentrated and veryyyy DIVINE. This is very much for a BOLD, confident, sexy VIXEN and it’s so UNIQUE to the point where I haven’t been able to keep this fragrance out of my mind. She is unforgettable. Silage and lasting power are eternal. Trust me, you won’t need touch-ups through the night and this will elegantly cut through other perfumes in the air. You will wake up the next morning and still smell M in your hair. She is ride or die. If you are looking for a bold, unique, feminine, man-eater fragrance then please consider trying M 🤍

I'm so glad I finally brought this into my collection and tried it! A blind buy, of course - salty vanilla gardenia marshmallows with amber and incense - soooo sultry! The bottle is funny, it doesn't match the scent inside - if I could choose a bottle for this it would be dark, almost black with a little bit of blue shimmer or iridescence. It does *not* follow the usual accords found within celebrity creations most of the time. This is a grown, womanly scent and I'm very pleased with it. However, I can see it being a little polarizing if you were expecting something fruity or playful. I see myself getting a lot of wear out of this one.

Wow, I have slowly fallen in love with this. I bought a huge bottle for a great price, blind buy. I opened and sprayed it and realized that it was not my thing sadly. I just immediately disliked the incense and patchouli combo and vibe, didn't see it as me. Then I started to think it smelled like bbw twilight woods lotion. And then it became my nightly ritual to wear it to bed. It's so calming and almost not like a perfume. It stays close to the skin, but if you overspray it will project. It doesnt last long. It's like a whisper. I really like it now and I can't wait for the right event and climate to wear it out.
