Collection De Roses

Looks like I am the first to review this very 90s vintage style fragrance. I got this for a steal new in box on eBay. First of all the packaging is darling. I love the canister and the bottle is exceptional. I love this brand. This fragrance starts of sharp when first sprayed. A blast of aldehydes, violet and green moss. It settles into a very powdery rose, with violet, quite a lot of moss in fact which is a rarity these days since IFRA ridiculous regulations. It takes me back to a more elegant time period, the 20th century. This is a very mossy, powdery rose and violet. It reminds me a bit of the original Mariella Burani but more moss and violet instead of iris. Very woody as well, cedar, rosewood, the bergamot is fleating which works well for me, I'm not a big citrus girl unless it is orange. This is a very romantic, glamorous, powdery, feminine perfume. The bottle looks fabulous on my vanity. So much prettier than the boring "unisex" bottles with no thought or imagination to them. Maybe Chanel clean esthetic was new and fresh in the 20s but I'm bored of it. I miss womanly decoration. Something a bit more Victorian but updated for today. The flower cap and bow are fun because they are for just us girls and women. No unisex sharing, which I do tire of at times. Good womanly perfumes are about flowers and the bottles should be decorated with them. I plan on buying more vintages from Mariella Burani. I am so tired of overly sweet vanilla doused cotton candy that is called "womanly" perfume today. If you like vintage packaging, and vintage womanly fragrances check this lost forever brand out.
