Marilyn Miglin 112

I got this as a part of miniature(splush) collection maybe 5 years ago or so. I liked it so I ordered a full-size bottle at HSN. Since then, I occasionally use this. (Because I have so many perfumes, I can't use this everyday. You know!) Scent: Classic floral. It's complicated, powerful, outdated but I love it. Well blended so I can't identify each note much. Definitely a lots of floral notes though. Kinda powdery feel(neither iris nor musk). Kinda clean/soapy feel. I don't detect patchouli and vanilla at all. To tell you the truth, first impression of this perfume was "No! Too outdated and strong" However, some aldehydic notes or something were very addicted and kept coming back to use this. It's powerful but not nauseous or headachy at all and somewhat clean. I think this is love or hate type perfume. I know this perfume may offend some people so I usually use at bedtime. 1 spray is enough for me.

Happened to come across several .25 oz splash bottles of different Marilyn Miglin fragrances purchased probably 10 years ago in the spare room closet. I can't find info on MM date/batch codes. The label on the bottom of 112 is missing, but the others say 2957 and 2967, if anyone knows the meaning. 112 smells like fancy french-milled soap, in a good way. Floral-fresh, clean, a little bit sweet. A perfect choice for spring. On my skin, the jasmine and lily are the most prominent at first. Fifteen to 20 minutes in, softly sweet ylang-ylang is the focus. Gauzy and ethereal. Beautiful. This was liberally dabbed on and the fragrance stays close to the skin. She is quite well-mannered when applied this way. I may have to hunt down an atomizer for this one, I'm curious if she would be a bit bolder if spritzed on.

This is a man magnet perfume. Every time I wear this I get men (mature men 40+) complimenting me. It's strange, but my husband isn't as captivated by this perfume as the men I encounter during the course of my work day. I think it smells quite pleasant and I'm wondering if Marilyn added some pheromones because it definitely attracts the attention of the opposite sex. I wear it when I need a little confidence boost.

this is a floral aldehyde; I am wearing my bottle that is about 25 years old. It registers very sharp and powdery. There must be orris, iris and musk in here. I think the Easter lily and sandalwood are what are prominent.

i get a lot of jasmine and lily at first with a bit of ylang ylang. the florals are nice but something in here is reminding me of a sort of bracing laundry detergent in the background and i don't like it. i think it may be some facet of lily? i don't know for sure. the jasmine blooms after a few minutes and is a bit indolic and it's very pretty. i like this one except for that detergent background note.

112 is a beautiful clean floral it reminds me of clothes that have just been washed. Very fresh scent. I rather like this I do find that it's really close to White Diamonds. Silage and longevity are great.

This too me just smells like a knock off of White Diamonds!! I much prefer White Diamonds!!

I'm a fan of Marilyn Miglin's fragrances with some exceptions. This is one of my favorites. I agree with the other reviewers that 112 is similar to White Diamonds, but perhaps not as powerful. I don't get much vanilla from the base of 112, and there's a note listed on the web sites where this fragrance is sold called "pineapple leaves." I guess there's some green freshness to this scent. I definitely get the ylang-ylang, jasmine, and white florals then something dry and woody, maybe sandalwood. If you love Jean Patou Sublime, you might like this. It has a similar feel but without the citrus. 112 is clean, classic, and yes, I get a Mediterranean, sunny feel from it. Very pretty and sophisticated. Not overly sweet. Longevity is good. I can still smell it on my scarf and hair after a 10-hour day. Will last longer and smell richer if you layer it with the lotion.

I spritzed a little of this on the back of my hand at a small jewelers in Newberry, SC. I didn't want to take a full spray of it; the bottle was placed on the counter with several pieces of vintage (circa '50s and '60s) jewelry for ambiance rather than sale; but I just couldn't resist. My first thought was that this is in the same family as ET's White Diamonds, a fragrance loved by millions - but not by me. MM 112 is definitely old school and wonderful if you like that genre; a voluptuous punch of rich flowers followed by an animalic drydown that somehow I think is the real deal. I have washed my hands several times since spraying this on several hours ago; and it is not only detectable, it is still powerful.

This is an old school style perfume like women used to wear in the 1940-50s. If you're a fan of classic Chanel fragrances you should like this, except instead of smelling like a woman in a Chanel suit or little black dress it screams scantily-clad woman laying belly-down on a fur-draped lounger with her feet in the air holding a glass of champagne. Think 1940's Hollywood glam in a bottle. Definitely not for the office. A little goes a long way. One spray is more than enough. If you're planning one of THOSE kind of evenings this is a good one to reach for!

Notes are for a bottle of EDP advertised on eBay ($11!) as the original formula: As others have advised, one spray will do ya. I think this is possibly more potent than not only the current version but also White Diamonds (and even Red Door). The opening blast is HARSH but settles down nicely as long as you don't overspray. I agree with "sharp" as a general description—this has an edge that White Diamonds doesn't.

I like this fragrance a lot but other people either love it or hate it. Men notice it and like it on me. I think it definitely has a little barnyard buried deep but always peeking out. Great silage. I don’t think it smells like White Diamonds at all but it might have the same feel of a billowing cloud around you. People who call it old fashioned are simply afraid of this kind of classic fragrance.

I agree with a lot of the reviews--yes, old school, 1940's retro--yes, a lot like White Diamonds, with more tuberose and less orchid, similar base notes--too dressy for the office--a special occasion scent. I got to meet Marilyn Miglin in person, back in the early 80's when she introduced "Pheromone" at Sak's Fifth Avenue in NYC.Very charming, classylady!

I'm not sure if the one I got has turned but boy oh boy it smells awful. Couldn't stand it, like sour and acidic at the same time. I'm so disappointed since I've read a lot of great reviews about this perfume. Definitely need to return it.

Ok this is just as the others have described it, it is old school, clean older lady smell. It is sharp at first but softens as it dries down only need 1 spritz to last you.

I do think it smells like Elizabeth Taylor’s White Diamonds, but the discontinued darker EDP, not the current EDT. The perfume oil is lovely as well.
