Pheromone Musk

This is just mmmm good! Musk and Pheromone perfumes marry together so well. If Pheromone is too much for you as it tends to be just powerful(but divine)then this one is perfect. You just don't find this kind of perfume out in the open marketplace. That is for sure. Don't expect the run of the mill notes. And let me say I have found with Marilyn's perfumes on first smell from the bottle you will always kind of say wow hmm that is different... and then put some on yourself and wait a little bit and bam! Perfection! ... I want to add that I just reach for this all the time! It gets even better as time goes by!

Pheromone Musk Vanilla EDP I’m honoring the recently late Marilyn Miglin’s life in fragrance by reviewing some of her creations. She made excellent perfumes at which I arrived second-hand (I wasn’t a watcher of her televised sales pitches, although I have since seen some on YouTube and they are worth a watch! She is an evocative speaker who clearly loves fragrance). Please excuse my review of the Pheromone Musk Vanilla (PMV) here, as it’s currently not an entry in Fragrantica’s database. PMV in EDP is not—as you might have expected given the way flankers often work—a recognizable spinoff of Pheromone (or for that matter, the much closer flankers Pheromone Midnight and Pheromone Gold). It is first and foremost a “clean musk” scent along the lines of US drugstore staples such as Jovan White Musk or the Skin Musk oil. Yes, there is discernible vanilla, but good news for sweet-haters like me: it’s as dry as you could hope vanilla to get, and doesn’t have “gourmand” connotations (good ol’ Marilyn hasn’t let me down yet in that department). Finally, there’s some sort of unsweet/vegetal floral note here; it reminds me of white lilies. I’m not a huge fan of lily in fragrances (and the flowers themselves can annoy me over time), but it’s pretty well-blended here. I’ve smelled “nicer” hotel lobbies that have air fresheners that don’t smell too far off from this. But the air fresheners usually drive me off the premises, whereas I’ve worn this Miglin frag twice; it’s quite tolerable. PMV is good for offices and other gatherings given how many people these days love clean musks and how many love vanilla, and how it is neither sweet nor white floral enough to overpower or annoy the gourmand- and lily-haters. Something for most people. I won’t repurchase it and probably won’t finish this bottle (the original Pheromone and its closer flankers named above are far more ‘up my street’ as dry, earthy chypres). Long live Marilyn Miglin fragrances, after the creator herself rests in peace.

Made from a white floral musk and not animal musk, this version of Pheromone captures the original essence with an added sexiness of musk. I prefer the classic Pheromone, but this one is close in composition but with an added emphasis of Spikenard and a clean white musk. Musk lovers should definitely give this a try, and there are some great deals on HSN. So purchased some of these off ebay at an affordable price and I love musk I have just about all of Coty's versions of musk and when I first sprayed this it was kinda stinky in a poo kinda way but as it dried down it turned softer soapy. I just have to wait to let the initial blast evaporate for it settle not bad not what I'm use to but the same not bad it is light not overpowering nice summer scent.

@suzycurlyq is so right! All of Marilyn's perfumes are a little "different" at first and then usually become an instant love for me. This is one of them. Sure, it's a little vintage smelling. But soon after the initial spray, it is so sexy. I only have a sampler dabber, so I can't speak a lot as to the longevity, but the dabber scent is very subtle. I'm in my 30s and I think this is very wearable.
