How To Marry A Millionaire

This fragrance.. OMG! Gives me endorphins!! I expected zero, when purchasing it. I’m a huge Monroe -fan , always was, so I just thought I want this cute bottle in my collection. I didn’t even spritz it on my skin first, but used a piece of paper.. first sniff and I was transported to the beach, instantly. This literally smells like bronze, warm, yummy skin and sea salt. I honestly would vote this as the best celebrity fragrance! It doesn’t smell cheap. It’s not sugary. It doesn’t have a urine stench. It’s not cloying. It doesn’t smell like alcohol or hair product, instead this scent seems surprisingly complex and stays delicious for hours. Give it some time, though. I cannot believe why nobody ever talks about this little gem. If I had to make comparisons to other perfumes, I’d say it’s like a much lighter and -to me- more pleasant version of Paco Rabanne’s ‘Olympea’. If you hate the complete DNA of Olympea, I wouldn’t blind buy this one! But if you enjoy Olympea, but maybe think it’s a bit much, too sweet, too cloying, too mature.. then this baby is for you. This is summer, beach, salt water, sunshine, and bronze skin, all day long. I wouldn’t say it’s an aquatic smell, bc it’s a very warm scent. I only perceive gourmand (like caramelized sugar + vanilla) a bit of coconut and salt. I don’t smell florals at all. Also the juice is caramel brown NOT yellow as pictured in the photo.

I bought the 50ml bottle simply because I don't like the design, but it looks quite cute and inoffensive in the smaller size. I'm aware there are variations in the colour of the liquid from online reviews, with some having a fairly clear colour and others nearer to amber (possibly all go this colour as it darkens). Mine is the darker version. My first impression was that it was a bit overwhelming, it has a very strong ''seaside'' smell, like crushed seashells and even aquatic crustaceans. However, as this develops it is such a gorgeous and ''expensive'' scent. There is a strong aquatic salted vanilla composure that becomes more creamy & delicious as it dries down, with very well blended mandarin and perfectly light jasmine notes. I have not smelled Olympea but if that is, as people suggest, stronger than this then it would be too much for me. Despite its fairly signficant sillage, this still wears as a reasonably carefree beachy fragrance but is a little bit thicker and more ''dressed up'' than a daytime beachy scent. Think more early evening sunset in a light, evening summer dress strolling down the promenade of a glowing, warm, relaxed beach and you have this lovely perfume. Very distinctive and, to me, classy and different to my usual perfumes.

This is good! Basically, this is a common combination of orangeblossom, jasmine and ambra/vanilla, but the salinity gives it a great marine nuance that undoubtedly brings to mind some Olympea scents of Paco Rabanne. On my skin, that salinity is strong, even so that I taste it in my mouth. That salinity lasts on my skin just as long as the scent anyway. Admittedly, my skin chemistry loves salt notes! This has a great sillage and longevity is good. This is powerfull, I think this can even cause headaches or nausea for some. In previous reviews, someone said this performance is poor and I was left wondering if her juice was turned around? I notice about a half year after opening, mine has darkened, but at least I don’t notice a difference in the scent itself. Salty jasmin, just lovely.

This was a blind buy but I glad I did! In my opinion is a gorgeous comforting sent. Love at first spray! I don't care about the celebrity herself but the perfumes is what I like! Is a Long lasting perfume...reasonable silage.. I can sense the sea notes, green mandarin, jasmine and the salted vanilla. I have received a lot of compliments yesterday when I wore it again. I love this so much that I purchased another bottle ( my first bottle still a bit full). The dry down is even better by the way. Is more subtle soft smell as the first spray feels a bit strong but not bad at all. The bottle is even more prettier in real life, especially with those diamantés ( good for collection),. I well recommend this one!

I have this perfume and I LOVE it ! It's a dark brown color in my bottle and it smells great ! Perfumes with vanilla turn brown as the vanilla in them ages. That's completely normal. Color does not affect the scent at all but it does make the perfume last longer and feel richer. This perfume is exactly like Olympea by Paco Rabanne. When I wear this Millionaire perfume on one wrist, and Olympea on the other, nobody can tell the difference, ever. How To Marry a Millionaire lasts on my skin and on fabrics forever until I wash it off. It would make a terrific signature scent for a sexy, pretty female of any age. I'm so glad I bought the largest bottle ! Ordered backups, too ! It's a classic for sure !

Yep. I have to agree with the review below. By the way I bought this gem for the first time for only 8£, a gift set,in my local drugstore. After I realise how good this is I bought a second bottle, this time, online. Then a third ( and I give it to a friend) finally I bought a forth bottle but this time a 100ml. Is like was comment before, I've done that because is not everyday we can find something that cheap, good quality, delicious smell ( and smells like a expensive one) grab one while you can!

I just found a 100 mil bottle for $19.99 at a local discount store. After reading the reviews here, I decided to buy it. Oh my God!!! This stuff smells so fkn good. Wow. I am shocked. Kind of speechless. Not really sure what to say about this stuff, but it is fabulous. If you find it, I recommend trying it. I don't think you'll be disappointed. This will be the best ride home ever... Because everything around me smells fabulous right now. BIG LOVE!

Last time I've wore this perfume, I've received a lot of compliments. The smell still on my clothes after over a week! I got so addicted to this perfume I even bought a third bottle ( only because The good price and because I got The impression that would be probably a limited edition). This is an EDP by the way

They say this is a dead ringer for Olympia by Paco Rabanne, & I think so too, but I cannot wear gourmandes myself, or anything like Olympea so am putting this up for swap or sale. It actually doesn't smell cheap this one, even at around £21 for 50ml, it's far better than most Celebrity Perfumes! It's not "Vanilla" though, that turns darker, in this, it's the "Vanillin" in it - the mass market synthetic vanilla that's used by Company's making perfumes at this price point, & it's not bad at all, I know many ppl who love this one, a lot! Although of course, Puig use that in ALL of the Paco Rabanne's & once they took over Jean Paul Gaultier they started doing the same, I believe, & most of them are not inexpensive, espc JPG (JPG perfumes & body products used to be amazing!) myself I even have a 2009 bottle of Classique EDP, & one spray is plenty & it lasts all night. I hoard it like Gollum, bc it's only a quarter full & I doubt I would repurchase, bc I read that the new EDT is nothing like, my tastes have changed, (I wore it constantly in 2008, & I had tbh, overdone it, I loved it so much when I bought my 1st bottle, that after a year, I couldn't wear it for a while) & then I just didn't use the bottle my mum got me for Christmas until a few years later; but I use it very occasionally & it's still amazing & so very concentrated,(an EDT of such a parfum DID used to be, & nothing like the very watered down "Designer Releases" now (& hasn't gone "off" at all!) - it is still beautiful, & tbh, a real Masterpiece of the early 90s (& if you are in the mood for the soapy rose, with the spicy twist at the top, + some Pinup girl makeup & powder etc, as I am v occasionally, the 2009 JPG Classique you couldn't go wrong with; of course it used to just be "Jean Paul Gaultier" when it 1st came out & was actually a child at the time) but it is the best of the best of its kind (& for me, it was the better version of "idea" if Vivienne Westwood's Boudoir, which I heard about when I was a kid, & then after reading Fragrantica many years later, thinking about that one, the reviews made me think, hm, maybe not!) I grew up with my Mother's & espc my Great Aunt's perfumes & we were spoiled! (bc perfumes were Amazingly Good, & very concentrated & lasted modt of the Day. My Great Aunt (& myself if she'd gifted me a little, at Weekends) washed off much of the mids & basenotes, at about 7pm, when we, in turns, took a bath, even in EDT form, after applying it at about 8am, & refreshing the Top Notes after lunch, as she always did, I noticed, whenever I stayed over as I used to throughout my childhood every other weekend (& sometimes more often) we were very close (& she was such an interest & brilliant person) whom I learned so much from. I have 50ml of this Marilyn Monroe Eau de Parfum to sell, or swap! If anybody likes this & wants this, purchased it for a present for my youngest niece, but she changed her mind & had something else! (I would have given it her anyway, but she has given up on perfumes bc wearing them aggravates her Asthma.)

Just receivd this cheapie celeb fragrance in the mail. Back in my youth some 40 yrs ago, I worshipped MM. I looked like MM. I dressed like her, talked in a breathy voice like her, was attracted to quirky,goofy looking, intellectual guys like her (still am...married one, ha!), and suffered not being able to have a child like she did (although we pursued adoption and after a 5 year wait, the most precious boy was sent to us at 2 days old...born at the same hospital that I and Marilyn were). Sadly, she never relized her dream here on earth, but I'd like to think she was reunited in Heaven with the babiess she lost here. Back to this fragrance. This is a powerhouse! I don't detect the vanilla as the first impact, but a blast of florals. I don't get salt or anything marine like. Maybe a little sandalwood in the drydown. Silliage and Longevity are massive. This perfume, to me, smells very generic "celeb frag". Whomever formulated it, did not capture Marilyn at all. She was demure, soft, kitten like, infantile yet deep and yearning to be a an educated and informed adult. She was very unique, not like these run of the mill celebs that try to imitate her or are churned out and shoved in our faces. I hope this fragrance company comes out with more unique frags emulating some of her best movies (I wonder if they actually sat down and watched HTMAM?...to try to understand her...do a little background research?). The company has promised us other frags in this line, but its been 3 years and no, "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes" or "Seven Year Itch" or "BusStop" or "The Misfits"...although the last three might not go over well as frag names, ha! I, also bought, Frida, named after Frida Kahlo as she is also a woman I can identify with. Now, her fragrance smells more like Marilyn's should, all soft, almondy, violet and powdery (gorgeous) and HTMAM I would associate more with Frida, BAM!...a force to be reckoned with!

I bought a whole bottle of it on ebay for less than £10, based on reviews. Well, the only similarity between this and Olympea is salt and vanilla, that is it. The drydown is different on me. I loved the drydown of Olympea but hated the first 2-3h and found that the salt and vanilla were way too nauseating. The 'How to Marry a Millionaire' is milder in the opening which I appreciated but the drydown was just cold vanilla and salt. It is also sweeter than Olympea. It does not smell cheap at all, I'm usually reluctant to buy cheap perfumes as had so many issues with Avon perfumes, they just smell cheap and unsophisticated. Not this one. It is a nice perfume but make no mistakes it is not an identical copy of Olympea, it lacks muskiness and warmth. Moderate sillage and longevity. Overall, it's a good perfume for the price, but it's just lacks warmth, which is a bit of a downer.

I bought this from a seller on eBay UK last week and decided it was definitely worth the £14.75 I paid for 50ml. I was intrigued by the comparison to Olympea Aqua; I therefore bought a 5ml decant from another reputable eBay seller to compare the two. OA opens with a much brighter, very citrussy zing - but the drydown to HTMAM and OA are virtually identical (in my opinion, anyway). I haven't compared sillage & longevity yet, but... If you are UK based and want an extremely inexpensive (but expensive smelling) dupe for Olympea Aqua, get yourself onto eBay or allbeauty.com now and order some. I am seriously impressed!

Did I buy this because it's a Marilyn scent? Yes. Did I blind buy it because it was only £9.99 for 50ml and 150ml body lotion in my local SemiChem? Also yes. It's the cutest bottle! So pretty, just like her. On first sniff, I was reminded of CK Eternity, which was a pleasant surprise. I smell the similarity in some notes to PR Olympea, but gladly, not the cloying urine scent I got from it! I'm not a fan of Olympea at all. All in all, a nice fragrance. Not too strong, smells very feminine and for the price, a bargain to have in my collection!

This is a marvel for the price. It's a beautiful, long-lasting, intense perfume at any price, so to have scored this for less than a tenner makes me one smug lady. As others have said, the scent is extremely similar to Paco Rabanne Olympea, but actually better because slightly less cloying. I considered buying Olympea a few months ago because I do love the salty-sweet intensity of white florals, marine notes, vanilla and woods, but I'm so glad I tried this instead. Way cheaper, just as intense, slightly better.

I bought it only because of the bottle. I have Champs Elysees Kiss “I Do” - another engagement ring bottle, and thought the two of them would look very cute together. They do. This bottle is of inferior quality. Very cheap plastic. It wiggles a little. Still looks good. The perfume, however, is very good! I don’t get much of marine notes, mostly orange, amber, and vanilla, and a bit of saltiness. I couldn’t wait to post this, so can’t say much about longevity yet :)

It's beautiful vanilla jasmine scent, from the very first note to drydown, which is soft but powdery persistant. It's a gem for the price, better then I found among those I paid for three times more. After 7 hours is still beautifully present to make a joy. Unfortunately I don't find marine note but I can+t be more content with my new love as I am. <3 It's even a safe blind buy if you love warm vanilla scent. Very Olympea like as many say.

I found it a 100 ml for 25$. And boy was I in for a surprise. I really like it, such a hidden gem. Like Andie68 says, it smells like Paco Rabanne, Olympea, and I agree. They do smell a lot alike. I do think the bottle and the box are tacky. But the juice inside I worth a try.

The bottle is cute. Its as if PR Olympēa bottle and Our Moment by One Direction bottle had a baby. If I'm honest, without offending anyone, in my opinion; the bottle is pretty and a bit tacky just like the juice. The fragrance is a powerhouse for silliage and longevity. How should I describe this? Well, for starters, i have an addiction to fragrances, and unfortunately I blind buy often. I keep getting bamboozled w/the notes, and the reviews, and then I "just have to see for mysel". I understand scent is subjective. To a degree. I mean, the majority of people can tell the difference between pleasant and foul. Marilyn Monroe? Va va voom, sex symbol! ...but... it was my grandmother's era, and well, yes my grandmother was hands down a hottie in her time, she still had it going on in her 80s for her age. Does it compare to Olympēa? In the reflection of a car, and not a mirror. Its distorted and synthetic. Hate to sound snobbish, but once you've experienced fragrances that knock your scenes in amazement, fragrances this level feel almost wrong. Olympēa is nice, not a favorite for me. Feels a little mature, but still there's something intriguing about it. I would pick Olympēa over Coco Channel No 5 any day. This how to marry a millionaire, oy! First impression, my grandmother's night cream from the 80s. When I would air kiss her goodbye, bc Miss Diva had her face care on. I forced myself to give it a whole 2 hours for it to develop. I couldn't go passed that 2hr mark. I washed and scrubbed it off. It wouldn't get off of me. I said "Fine, let's see what happens next". Another hour went by. I was typing away reports and this odd scent kept creeping up my nose. I tried to ignore it, and it just demanded my attention, just like my pup. I went to wash it off some more. I then used rubbing alcohol, I just couldn't take it! In between washings, I tried to be unbiased and look for the positive. Its not a sweet cloying fragrance, but sweet in a powdery and cream or gel like way. There's something synthetic there that doesn't let me leave it on me, as I would Olympēa. I can't really see my mom wearing this. I do, however, think my grandmother might have been okay with this Marilyn Monroe. I can see an older, finely dressed, attracive for her age, church secretary wearing something like this. I can't imagine a young woman wearing this. Its just too strong and from a different era. Its okay. We win some, and lose some. I hope my review helps ツ

I received this yesterday. On me this is definitely a floral scent. It’s nice but nothing much really. I get the salty in the opening which quickly disappears (within 1 min) then all I am left with is flower, no vanilla, no sweetness, nothing. I am quite surprised by the reviews because on me this fragrance is gone in 10 min. No lasting power what so ever. Maybe it’s been reformulated I don’t know but overall not my best blind buy.
