Eau D'Essence

I first came across this perfume when my husband bought me the perfume collection magasine that came with a miniature. I totally fell in love with it. It's a fresh unusual perfume which I find hard to describe. The problem with it is that it's ny on impossible to find. I think that Sublime Balkiss from the different company has an air of this but its also twice the price. Still, if you can get your hands on this, try it. Better than much more expensive juices and certainly more interesting.

This perfume is a masterpiece. It is sooo classy, so refreshing, so sophisticated!! It is an allrounder, you smell the refreshing tea right in the opening, added the fruity element of the black current. The spicy edge is there and the floral components for excellent balance. AMAZING!!

I am happy to see that the few people that DID rate this beauty, are all loving it!! And what about the rest of you out there? Please give this one a proper review, if you know it!!

It is indeed almost identical to Guerlain Pamplelune! I sprayed a vial of Pamplelune for Delphine and it really instantly made me think of Eau d'Essence!

I was given Eau d'Essence as a gift from a friend and my expectations for it were not high at all as: a) It was released in 1999 and for every gem that came out of the late 90s, there were seemingly thousands more underwhelming and bland releases b) The packaging isn't luxuriant and the product wouldn't look out of place languishing in case at TJ Maxx. c) I can't decide if the bottle is ingenious or if it's hideous, including its plastic "stand." To my surprise, it is actually brilliant. There is a pronounced blackcurrant accord, which when paired with mandarin, and what most certainly smells like fresh grapefruit juice, and unlike most grapefruit notes in perfume, this doesn't go sour and sulphur-like on my skin. It's fresh, but not in a predictable and guileless 90s way; it's tart and vibrant, and when its progression yields a complex floral bouquet, there is an additional gusto coming from cardamom. Over time, it reminds me of a musky iced tea with lemon and a bit of honey. Eau d'Essence is sort of a modern take on 70s crystalline-green-fresh-chypres like Chanel Cristalle and Molyneux Quartz, with this unique pizzazz to it that deserves merit. I do want to revisit when the warmer weather returns.

Crystal Citrus. Very lemony and cold, frozen, blackcurrant is indeed very noticeable. It is a so fresh, clean fragrance, Dry, light green and also fruity and little sugary, with animal dirty traces. A real great composition. Futuristic. Achitectural. Ultraoriginal. Dareful. A bit antisephtical actually. It make me see a paint of Giorgio de Chirico when I sniff this fragrance. Maybe inspired by this futuristic project they have create this horrible bottle and packaging which have helped made this perfume underestimated and scary. Very unisex remembers me a clean simplify and "unaromatic" version of Insensé.

Great fragrance for those who like citrus. Don't know why it's in Floral Wood Musk category. It's so similar to Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Pamplelune - they're smell almost alike. It's different, definitely not for everybody but again if you love Pamplelune, you're gonna love this one.

the drydown is very similar to Dune

I had this one years ago, and though the initial burst is reminiscent of Pamplelune, the dry down is much more complex. Wish I still had it now, it was a great fragrance.
