Mimosa Myrrh

Starts as dry and dusty myrrh and cardamom and softens as it goes, thanks to the musk. I'm looking for the soft and powdery mimosa and heliotrope -but it's so subtle. I get a little funk from the cassis, a little zest from the bergamot but no soft powder. Previous reviewer mentioned plastic and smoke which I can relate to, but they also mentioned brunch which I cannot relate to. Update: On the LuckyScent Florals for Spring livestream, they said this was more mimosa and very little myrrh?!? I'm flabbergasted. So try for yourself.

I love every Marissa Zappas/Redamance perfume. This one is truly brunchy. I have a totally untrained palate but to me this is definitely true to name, an actual mimosa beverage, with hints of plastic-jasmine and even a vague whiff of smoke, like someone is smoking down the block, or is wearing the same jacket they wore to the club. It reminds me of living in Berlin, city of all-night clubbing and citywide brunch shutdown every single weekend.

On me this scent is a gourmand. It evokes a dessert from a set menu of a very fancy restaurant. Sweet tonka and vanilla with a more complex flavor from a hint of cardamom and bergamot, decorated with dusty sweet yellow mimosa flowers. I get no plastic, no licorice, no mimosa beverage.

A pretty mimosa floral slightly overshadowed by a strong licorice myrrh. I like it a lot, but it’s extremely simple, linear and too close to my own blends to make the price worth it. I adore licorice myrrh and mimosa though, so it's a very pleasant experience. Lighter than it sounds.
