Emotional Drop

I bought this one in Summer 2019, under its new name and new packaging (black bottle as pictured here). Thus this has not been released in 2021... at all! Copying my review from the page of Emotional Rescue where I initally posted my review of emotional drop (exact identical fragrance - previous packaging/name): A great rooty vetiver (very close to pure vetiver oil) with a strong rose support, and also a hint of iris and violet in the background. Currant could be spotted, but you'll need some imagination for that. Reminds me of Diptyque Vetyverio EDP, with a better projection (moderate/heavy in the first 3 hours, than moderate for another 3 hours, then skin scent for 2/4hours) and a twist. Beautiful. Buxton hits again. Fall/Spring, 30+ ⁝

Dont tell anyone, but this might be the best vetiver frag ever made, its a bright vetiver with a twist of gooseberry which comes across very natural and refreshing, like a fresh spruce branch that is recovering from a rain shower in the middle of the summer.

Smelled this for the first time and bought it right away, it's that good. Very unique, has a dark cedar wood feel to it even though that's not listed in the notes i get a slight dry pencil shavings wood finish from it

First impression (which I started writing as soon as I tried it because it’s still 50% off at Maxaroma so I thought I’d call some attention to this in the hopes that one of you gets that deal). The overall impression is this is one of those frags that smells so damn good, original, and high quality that I had to spray it on my hands right away and am looking forward to wearing it tomorrow! But... I also wondered if it smelled TOO good to wear for the informal things I’ll be doing tomorrow, or too “unisex floral” for a middle-aged man like me whose taste tends towards “old school". I do get more of the "Fresh Spicy” Woody and Earth aspects of it than I pick up the Rose -- but rose is still pretty synonymous with feminine for me due to the era I grew up in (my sisters got dozens of roses from their boyfriends, Grandma’s signature was Tea Rose, I bought roses for my girlfriends etc). Plus there's some (very nice) Cassis flower in there so it’s definitely coming across as Unisex to me due to the florals. Oddly enough I’m not really noticing the Gooseberry at first, but eventually I do and realize it was because I’m just unfamiliar with that note. Even though this isn’t the kind of frag I normally wear, it’s a strong Like and may even be a Love (I’ve been sniffing it for more than half an hour now) for me so you’re definitely going to want to sample this if you get the chance. Or what the heck, roll the dice on that $82 blind buy while you can! This was previously released as “Emotional Rescue” but my bottle is one of those new short wide black ones that a black cap that has a good solid weight to it even though it must be at least mostly plastic. It’s fine, but the magnetic metal cap on his "Why not a cologne" is an improvement over this.
